The supernatural world is in chaos, and the war has barely begun.
The old Council has fallen, but that is only the beginning. Now, it's up to me and my mates to finish what we started. We have to take out the Tromara and free us all from their tyranny, at any cost.
Failure is not an option. The entire supernatural community is relying on us to lead them to freedom. But this question plagues me most: Am I the right person to lead them? To be their queen?
I better be. I've been placed in the seat of Council Queen, ruler of the five territories. To stay in charge, I have to prove my worth at every turn. We need allies. We need to destroy the Codex. And, I need my full dragon form.
How can we achieve all of this before our enemies break through Academy Obscura's defenses?
Author’s Note: This is a steamy, medium burn, reverse harem paranormal romance featuring shifters, witches, and fae. It includes dark themes, adult language, violence, and possibly triggering situations. Recommended for mature readers.
I devoured this series of 4 books in the span of 2 days and with each book, the better it got and the more I enjoyed it.
We have come to the final book of the Academy Obscura Series and I am sad to say goodbye to this world. This book was action packed, exciting and thrilling. It was satisfying to see the end point and was able to meet supporting characters more which was interesting to learn more about each council member.
One of my favourite things about this series is character development. Caprice experienced a tremendous character development from the 1st book to the last, where she has flourished and become a respected individual by many in the supernatural world. Each characters had a distinct tone and I liked how Cassia integrated different POV to gain a more insightful perspective into the motives and thinking. I am going to reiterate again to get my point across, character development is top class.
Overall, the series demonstrated excellent character development of Caprice and see new relationships blossom amongst the chaos and mystery. Unsuspected situations that induced a massive 'oh my god wtf is happening'- in a good way. Cassia has proved herself to be an excellent writer with a strong grasp on the plot, progression and characters weaving an excellent series.
This is the final book in the Academy Obscura series. Everything comes to a head here. Caprice and her mates complete the official mating ceremony that will release her full form dragon. In thr midst of making plans to defeat the Tromara once and for all, Caprice is visited by her mother’s sister and her 4 mates. She provides vital information to Caprice about her mother, her family history, and some timely information on dragon shifting. As Caprice and her army route out the Tromara, they are attacked while in Fae territory. They now have Liam, May and other friends hostage and will kill them if Caprice doesn’t surrender.
This was such an excellent finish to this series. The story pacing was perfect. I didn’t feel like it lagged or moved too fast in any area. World building, as with the rest of the series, was detailed. The character development, even minor characters, was pretty complete. It was very satisfying to see Caprice grow from a college bound innocent girl to Queen of supernaturals. Her mates experienced a lot of growth as well. At least Angel and Montrell did. Jaxon and Liam seem to be comfortable in a polyamorous relationship from the beginning. Angel struggled with it, since he was in love with someone else when his wolf recognized Caprice as his mate. I’d venture a guess that of the 4 of them. He’s still the most uncomfortable with it - with Montrell running a close second. While reverse harem stories are not usually my thing, I absolutely didn’t hate it here. Probably because of the fact that 2 of her partners were definitely conflicted.
I would definitely recommend this series to anyone that likes this genre of books.
"OMG I've literally just finished reading it and I'm out of words in the most magnificent way. As expected the story was full of action that kept me on the edge all the time. Caprice was such a strong girl and I really like how her character was developed. Did I mention how much I love her mates? This final book gave everything I was craving for in a RH story and I can't thank enough the author for how the romance, love and lust was developed. Those scenes were so intense that had me blushing and almost burned my kindle! They were perfect!!! Like I said there was action, magic, powers, betrayal and ultimately a battle against Sebastian. I couldn't imagine a different ending and what ending... that surprise melted my heart. I was already in love with Liam, Jaxon, Angel and Montrell (jealousy never felt so hot before!) but with that end and the ocean scenary *wink, wink* they now completely own my heart. Highly recommended!"
This was a satisfyingly action filled ending to Caprice’s story. The Dragon Queen and her royal mates lead a rebellion against the Tromara and the old council that brings together all types of supernaturals. There is a wide cast of characters from the whole series with a few new ones added but everything flows nicely the storyline is easy to follow. I enjoyed the entire series and plan on reading more from this author. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
The rebellion goes thru a lot before the final battle. Is there enough support and how can they actually end Sebastian and Isabella. Well with the read to get find out.
Great story love this series glad she’s finally got her dragon. Cross fingers this isn’t the ending I would really love to see more of the dragon family

This is actually one of the best written books I have read. The spins on it you don’t see coming and I love the characters I’m sad that this is the last book but I will definitely read anything this author writes in the future
I strongly recommend this author, Cassia Briar, she is a gifted story teller with a fantastic imagination who has the ability to pull you into the world as she creates it! As usual I am writing my review to cover all 5 of the academy obscura series, (yes including the prequel) and I have to say what a fantastic series this was, it had everything you could want from a book, strong characters, a detailed plot, action, bad guys, mystery and of course love and sex, I adore supernatural stories with intrigue with the history woven into the characters that leave you wondering if it's possible that they exist? Are there supernaturals living amongst us? An excellent read.
I had no idea this was the debut series by Cassia Briar until I read the authors note at the end. While I always want more details from the books that I find a connection with & escape in, CB does tie everything up well, even some details I don’t know I would thought of otherwise! The one left outstanding seems to be addressed in the next planned series. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for future reads.
What a great ending to a awesome series of books i look forward to reading more by this author highly recommend this series if u haven’t read it already
You know that "panicky"" OMG" feeling you get when you've caught up with all your fave series or authors? Or is that just me? Well yeah it's a thing. I have spent the last couple of years with a KU subscription finding and reading by old faves and finding new ones. I go through books and series very quickly. So there I am 2days ago and I'm going through my lists scrambling to fill my kindle and I saw the first book in this series. Looked interesting and I saw most of It was already out so I grab 1 and 2 thinking ok this will keep me going for a day or two. Let me tell you this I have been awake for 36 hours just to finish it. I know! I couldn't put it down!! And then I find out that this is the author's FIRST SERIES!!! Well she has a new stalker. This series was amazing. World build.. Character building. Storyline! It was all great! And it wasn't a 4 year timeline. So if you see this review I'm hoping you will try these out. Yes I highly recommend!!💓💓💓💓
I read all four books back to back, i couldn't put them down.
I had to know what happened next, giving worred glances at the percentage left on each book as i followed Caprice on this exciting adventure.
Full of mysteries and reveals, heart and humour, frightning and heartbreaking situations. Cassia Briar wove an inticate and compelling tale of a young woman finding her strength, learning to believe in herself and of course learning just how Bada** she really is. Including hot steamy mates, new friendships and old. This whole series has became one of my favorites.
As this review covers all four books i won't give away any plot points or spoilers but i will highly recomend this Author and this series.
I completely fell in love with this series, it’s so well written with such detail and emotion. The storyline was amazingly unique, the twists and suspense had me not being able to put the book down. Loved all the characters, they each had depth and pulled at my heart strings in their own way. The action in this book was fantastic, those fight scenes and the suspense was off the charts - loved it! Overall this was a perfect ending to an amazing series, I loved the journey and will definitely miss these characters and thus amazing supernatural world.
- Slight OM/OW drama and jealousy - only partially an Academy RH, academy stuff falls away in the 3rd book - Harem has 4 guys: werewolf, shapeshifter, witch, and fae - Several seriously reluctant mate’s - attempted rape, assault, torture - bullying from outside the harem - betrayal from outside the harem - 3/5 Spicy stars - FMC is a dragon shifter - Royalty
I was unhappy with the romantic relationships in this series, but that’s because I’m a petty bitch and unforgiving. The ‘HEA’ was too abrupt and left me feeling unsatisfied.
This was the perfect ending then I never saw it coming. Throughout the entire series your left wondering if good or evil is going to win out in the end. There are so many twists and turns that you honestly don’t have any clue what will really happen. Loved the series and the characters
Absolutely loved this series. Just sorry it's finished. Although lol now I will get some sleep. Have read too many late hours unwilling to stop for the night. Will definitely be looking for Cassia's other books, and look forward to many more. Thank you for this awesome series.
I loved this series for the most part. The only bit I didn't like was the childish use of some words in certain situations. I am so blinking glad that the right people got their comeuppance. I could happily read more about the heroine and the guys.
I just finished the final book in the series. I have to say I was thoroughly involved with the characters, storyline and action. I always love a good reverse harem story and this one doesn’t disappoint. Give this one a read I give it a both thumbs up.
I love the series. But I wish that there was more for the ending. Also I wish that the meeting of the rest of her family had been included. But all together it had been a good series
I have to say I'm highly disappointed in that ending and may change my rating. Tbh why would you have us know she's gonna meet her moms family and then doesn't? I just felt as though this one was lacking
