Slightly disappointed and surprised there was more historical info on the sights rather than on the actual sights! In most of the places we didn't have an idea of what we'd see due to the limited descriptions. However, it is very detailed and talks about all areas in St. Petersburg and its surroundings!
On a two week trip to St. Petersburg, it was this guide we opted to carry around, as much for its still up-to-date information on sights and restaurants as for its detailed historical information about the city. The picture on the cover (of the interior of the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood) was enough to make us want to see the church in person!
