I wasn’t convinced that I would be very compelled by a romance featuring Daniel. He comes across as somewhat boring in the first two books in the series. However, it turns out that I freaking love him as a romance hero. He’s different from the typical male main characters you get in romances of any subgenre. Sure, he’s overly protective of his mate, but other than that, he’s quite unique. He’s subdued, a little quiet (but not shy), and genuinely kind.
Sarah is ambitious, yet family-oriented--despite being an orphan. She has taken care of her foster siblings since she turned eighteen, and she’s selfless in how she’ll do whatever it takes for them to be happy.
I loved the dynamic Sarah has with her sister, Darcey, and I’m incredibly excited to see that this super sweet girl is going to be paired with Anders, the arrogant womanizer, in the next book. Colour me intrigued!

The characters are full of life and Daniel is awesome, Caring , lovable and adorable.
Alicia has spoiled me for shifter books , no one writes them like she does, I’ve read many and the only ones that satisfy my cravings are these.
With such descriptions and passionate characters the stories leap off the page . You just can’t find better written books as far as I’m concerned.

Absolutely wonderful - twists & turns you just don't see coming!! Sarah & Daniel meet up in a 'what happens in Vegas' moments that spiral out of control! With all the 'usual suspects ' of Blackstone Mountain to lend support & generally mess with each other! Love the mystery & drama & surprises & hot sex too! Sarah met a man during her friend's bachelorette party in Las Vegas. She has no recollection of how she end up with a handsome man on a motel room. Daniel came to Damon's bachelor party but as he saw a woman struggling to walk. Before he knew, his Bear immediately recognize that the woman is his fated mate. When he woke up, he has no memories of staying at a motel due to the substance that has been put on his drink. Three months has passed but Sarah has been thinking about the handsome man who she spend the night at the motel. Daniel become a hero when he saved the Vice President from an ambush and it created a lot of attention as he attracted a lot of people wanting to meet the handsome hero. The media has been trying to do an interview and TV appearances for him to make a statement but he always turned them down. He was getting tired of the people who wanted to see and talk to him. As he was finished working his shift, he came to hear a familiar voice that made his bear realized that it was his mate However, there are enemies looking to get him killed Daniel knew how risky it was to let his mate get back to Vegas without staying at his side so they agreed that Sarah needs to stay with Daniel at his home for a while. At first she protested how it was dangerous to be away from her brother and sister but relented when they offered a protection to them. Sarah and Daniel has a great chemistry and they cannot deny the sparks whenever they are close to each other. The author wrote the story well, I love the support of Daniel's friends, and the way Daniel is protective of his mate. I enjoyed reading the book and I'm glad that the characters finally have a HEA forever.

What happens in Vegas continues in Colorado!

I found this third book in the Blackstone Ranger series to be just as entertaining as the first two. The chemistry between the main characters was off the charts, and the plot twists really surprised me. The author really has a gift for making the shifter paranormal romance subgenre feel fresh and new. The angst level is fairly low, and the small number of bedroom scenes are steamy. I think this Blackstone Ranger series is one of the best shifter PNR series I have ever read. The characters are vivacious and sometimes funny, the small town setting is cozy, and the narrator is top notch. The good-guy hero Daniel had more attractive qualities than I would guess at first, and I really liked the smart, self-reliant heroine who designs lingerie. I highly recommend this book and the series to all fans of paranormal romance.
The narrator Tara Langella is awesome. She has a very pleasing tone, and she is marvelously talented at both men’s and women’s voices. She makes action scenes sound very exciting, and she is wonderful at emotional nuance and humor. I am highly impressed at her performance, and I will look for her other performances to buy.

Daniel is such a sweet gentleman!
I love the bad boys as much as the next romance reader, but every now and then it's refreshing to read about a real gentleman, one built on integrity and honor. Daniel Rogers is all that and a bag of chips!
His instinctive rescue of a politician thrusts him into the spotlight, making it possible for both good and evil to find him. Daniel and Sarah find themselves married after one forgotten night in Vegas, and the media circus following his hero status runs with the story, upending both their quiet lives.
This was a terrific story, charting both their fledgling relationship and the villainous forces seeking retribution. I love the Blackstone world, and I especially enjoyed how this book took us further into the expansive story of the evil forces at work against the shifter community. There are a couple surprises along the way, plenty of steamy romantic times, and an extraordinary cast of characters that feel like family.
Lots of fun with a sigh-worthy HEA! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

She's from his visit to Vegas a few months back, he can't remember the details but he knows she's his mate. Now it's getting her to realize the truth. But she has family, a job and a business in Vegas. It'll take some doing to win her. Strange things happen when someone drugs his drink, but he wakes up alone with his intact wallet, so he returns to his job as a park ranger, and life goes in for a few months. This is when she finds out the two of them got married in Vegas, and neither of them remembered it due to her being toasted and him being roofied. Life gets very interesting from this point, with multiple attacks on his life by an anti shifter group, dragons showing up, and things getting weird when all he wants is to convince her to stay, forever. There is a happy ending for all, but it takes a lot of effort. Gonna look for another book by this author for sure.

Daniel and Sarah's story was a little different than most. It star starts with the fact that some things that happen in Vegas, don't always stay in Vegas. This is where I try to tell you how amazing the story is, without giving y'all any spoilers. Daniel knew when he first met Sarah, she was his mate....again, Vegas. When they meet again, things go a bit sideways. Sarah is torn between her loyalty to her family and her attraction to Daniel. Now, I love the bad boy just as much as you, but Daniel's show of manners and being a sweet teddy bear........well it works. Tack on the surprise behind closed doors, yup, you will be hooked. I loved seeing characters we have grown to love, along with a few new introductions. This author has always made a show of loyalty and family throughout her series. Once again, I am glad to be back in Blackstone. Thanks for another amazing read. I received an advanced copy and this is my voluntary opinion.

Daniel and Sarah had an intersting marriage,they so drunk that they didnt know they done it,only when Sarah is applying for a business loan and she found out that she was married to a stranger thats why their loan application was denied. long story short she need to find her strage husband get his signature and the problem solved..Daniel is a bear shifter and a forest ranger who save the VP when someone attack him in his campaign,when Sarah saw the news on TV she knows now where to find Daniel and who and what he is..An intriguing,interesting,fun,steamy with a bit of action and twist and turn to put you on edge while reading,cant wait for the next one! well done! Blackstone Ranger Hero by Alicia Montgomery is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tara Langella.
This is the third book in the Blackstone Rangers series and can be read as a stand-alone. However, I would recommend reading in order since the books are interconnected.
This is the first series of Alicia’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. She does an amazing job pulling you into the story. I absolutely loved the relationship between Daniel and Sarah.
I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series Blackstone Ranger Rogue so I can get Darcey and Anders story.
Tara did a great job on the narration. I liked that she used different/tones voices for each character. It really brought the story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances or romantic suspense.

Another great couple in this shifter series set in Blackstone Daniel has been in the previous books and tbh, he was forgettable. I wasn't sure what to expect from him, but I am sooo glad I didn't skip his book!!
He is pretty unassuming and polite... until he gets down and dirty. Whew!!! Fanning myself... I love a character that surprises me like that.
He meets Sarah at a strip club in Vegas and feels the "connection ". They have a "what happens in vegas..." night but it's not that simple.
Sarah ends up in Blackstone to find Daniel after seeing him on the news saving the VP of the US.
Sarah has no idea that her and Daniel are fated mates, but he does.
This book was more intriguing and had more of a plot than the previous 2 books.
We get an intro to few more characters including Sarah's foster siblings, one of who is a shifter.
As much as I enjoy listening to Tara's fabulous voice, I do wish this series was dual narration!

Not a favourite for me but I did enjoy the return of some old nasty baddies.
Yes, they are mates but I just didn’t feel any pull or connection between Daniel and Sarah.
Never a fan of amnesia tropes, they always seem an easy cop out to thinking up a meeting between the main characters. At least Daniel had a reason for his amnesia.
It wasn’t horrendous in this book but I also disliked that neither was honest at the beginning. Especially the fact they have sex before Daniel tells Sarah that she is his mate. This of course causes the usual misconception which is rampant in shifter books.
Then it gets more confusing/entertaining with a problem from another series materialising.
Loved Thoralf, cannot wait to read his story.
Annoying to get the obligatory pc, same sex couple included.
This is my honest review of this book.

What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas even when the hero doesn't remember. Return to Blackstone for Daniel's unconventional romance with Sarah. As usual, Ms. Montgomery weaves characters and imagery to bring the reader into the story. Guest cameos featuring characters from earlier Blackstone books help the reader feel they are returning to a beloved vacation escape. The anti-shifter groups offer a chilling parallel to current sentiments in today's world and some new characters also bring contemporary elements often overlooked in this type of novel. Well done! This is an exciting continuation of the Blackstone series, but may be read on its own. If you are seeking romance with a bit of adventure, shifters and family grab this or any of Ms. Montgomery's books.

What happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas? the mild mannered Daniel goes to Vegas for Damon’s bachelor party and doesn’t remember what happens. Fast forward three months and after he saves the VP , Sarah comes in to his life saying that they are married. Daniel then spends his time trying to get Sarah to fall in love with him whilst fighting attempts to kill him or frame him for human murders. We revisit Jason Lennox and his wife Christina and their shifter protection agency and they tell us what they know about the people trying to kill Daniel. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Gabriel’s and JD and thoralf -‘his quest to find out how to reverse the damage of the wand. Although this book was great as a stand alone , I can’t wait to see what happens as the knights will not be going away next. Another great addition the the blackstone series.

The third book in this series, where each takes place in the same world but features different potential couples, this one has a fun little twist that I won’t spoil for you. Great couple, fun circumstances and great ‘supporting cast’. We get to see some of the characters from books 1 and 2 and this town starts to feel more like a home away from home.
A few instances of poor grammar were noted; a stronger editor could help with this.
The steamy scenes are hot at times, cheesy and/or weirdly worded at others, but overall fine. The family drama is just right, and there’s no shortage of action here.
Very well done. Will read on in the series.

Daniel’s life is going to get complicated. Not only does his latest rescue put him in danger, his drunken night in Vegas is about to catch up to him. He doesn’t remember anything about that night, let alone the fact that he got married to Sarah! She has tracked him down for an annulment. What she doesn’t know is he’s a shifter and she’s his fated mate. Now he has her again, Daniel has no intention of letting her get away. With his enemies closing in on him, will he be able to convince Sarah she belongs with him before its too late? Sparks will fly in this latest visit to Blackstone. An intriguing, dramatic, entertaining, read that will have you laughing out loud one minute and on the edge of your seat the next.

I really enjoyed this story! It was a lot of fun and very entertaining. Daniel and Sarah meet in Vegas at his friends bachelor party but both were drinking, Daniel’s spiked, and neither remember the next morning. Turns out, they did something more lasting than one night together. Daniel has had a lot of media attention recently as he just saved the VP’s life which is how Sarah locates him again. I loved the way that Daniel interacted with Sarah and the way that he wanted to build the relationship with her but not push her too hard towards that either. Daniel is just one of those really good guys that you root for from the very beginning. Sarah has been taking care of her two chosen siblings for years and wants to make things better for them. I loved how things developed and the action as well. There was more than enough to hold your attention and I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

Daniel and Sarah both attend their best friend's bachelor/bachelorette party, and while she had one too many drinks, Daniel gets a drug, to punish him for interfering with another man molesting a woman. But even under the influence of the drug he recognises his mate in Sarah. But when he wakes up the next morning, he does not remember anything.
A few months later Sarah finds out that the two of them had married and tries to find Daniel to annul the marriage..
A funny story with a touch of suspense, as Daniel has gotten on the hit list of some anti-shifter groups.
Engaging and suspenseful, with a touch of romance, it is a rather entertaining story to read, and fits well in with the other Blackstone books.

Awesome bear shifter story
Daniel is a bear shifter and ranger protecting Blackstone forest. While attending his boss, Daniel rescued a woman. He was poison by bloodbane in his drink, which is like a roofrookie. He doesn't remember anything from that Vages trip..
Later he is a hero because he saved from assassination the Vice President. Sarah finds out she is married, but to who when she is applying for loan. She confront him in order to get an annulment.
When they meet spark fly, she is determined to because she has commitments back home.
The fast paced drama has characters that are stubborn, sexy, funny, and honorable. I like the characters who are determined to overcome obstacles.
Highly recommended for an intriguing and engaging story.

February 3, 2025Dropped at 72%. This was decent right up until the dragons got involved. Targeting Daniel really didn't make a lot of sense to me. So Daniel and Sarah and a random dragon from a related book series by this author go live in a house together to be safe. Then Sarah's foster brother who she is raising randomly shows up to be a dick to her and also be the token disability rep for the series. Also this kid is school aged and ran away from the other foster sister who is raising him and no one said anything about it. I do not like the main couple nearly enough to continue on. I have read all the other books except book 4. I'll go ahead and attempt that one but since it involves Sarah's foster sister I do not have high hopes.

Alicia delivers again! This is book 3 in the Blackstone ranger series, I find these books addictive, I'd even say I prefer them to the Blackstone mountain series. I loved Daniel, he's a great guy who comes across as sweet and kind but still maintaining an edge, especially in the bedroom! I wasn't sure if I was going to like Sarah initially, but I came to love her too! The secondary characters in this book were fantastic and really brought it to life for me. This book is a quick and easy read at around 200 pages, however Alicia creates characters that are able to jump off the page and easily allow you to connect with them. I can't wait for the next book- as always!

Of course I loved this book!!
Alicia Montgomery you have done it again😍. This is definitely a page turner. This is a story that started out in Vegas with two unsuspecting adults. Daniel had been roofied apparently with a drug that works on shifters. Sarah was at a bachelorette party. Neither could remember what happened the night before. Three months later she has to go looking for him, to give him what she thought of was bad news. The only other thing I will say is though what happens in Vegas doesn't necessarily mean it will stay in Vegas. This book has lots of Alpha shifters, an HEA, and I definitely recommend another of Alicia Montgomery's books.

I am a sucker for an accidental marriage story. Especially when you have a spunky female and sexy bear shifter involved. Daniel becomes famous when he saves the VP publicly. He didn't do it for fame. He did it because it was his job and that's just who he is. But it's made him somewhat of a celebrity as a hero. One drunken night in vegas he meets Sarah and they share a wild night. So wild, they get married! Now it's months later and Sarah needs an annulment to get the business loan she needs. One Daniel and her are face to face again chemistry explodes. But there is danger involved. This a great romantic suspense. I loved it! And the narrator did a great on bringing the characters to life.

Sarah’s carefully outlined life plan is upset and Daniel thwarting an assassination makes him an overnight sensation, a national hero. At least now Sarah knows who and where to find her mystery man, though she comes with baggage, that settles in nicely.
Meanwhile, there was more the VP’s visit than it appeared as a shifter hate group is targeting Blackstone’s shifter town. New character Thoralf makes J.D. sit up and take notice.

As in each of the Blackstone books, this one takes you in, keeps you on your toes and brings you out the other side with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart.
This book is about another ranger, Daniel. Daniel met Sarah, instantly knew she was his mate, then promptly forgot her. You’ll enjoy watching them find each other while fighting to stay alive. You will also meet new characters that have stories of their own. Can’t wait for the next one!

Sarah is just a waitress at a casino in Vegas with a very guarded heart that wants to open her own business. (Not going to say what her passion is, it might be a spoiler)
Between trying to do right by her siblings and working trying to get her business going she doesn't have a lot of room to think about much else. So imagine her surprise when she finds out she's married.
Go grab this book. If you like shifters I think you'll enjoy this book.

This was a enjoyable and entertaining read!!! Definitely not what I was expecting at all. I will admit that I like the unique twist because I was totally thinking the worst lol. It still had plenty of intrigue, action, adventure, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. Overall a great read. Can't wait to see what else is in store for this series. As always my review are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
