And I ask no more. I’m always left speechless and filled with laughter at the antics of the hero and fall in love with their gestures. Abel, in this one, was no different. He took matters into his own hands and didn’t stop till he got the girl of his dreams. It was hot, swoony, funny and so romantic. He undoubtedly was built for love.
I don’t mind her being wary of the male species. Hell, she can keep her guard up around them at all times—except for me. For me, her guard should be on the floor along with her clothes.
Abel has his own construction company which he started with his best friend and is recently assessing a new building when he runs into Pepper who is a tenant there. He is instantly attracted to her and her wastes no time in introducing himself by literally stealing her laundry basket ( which btw was super hilarious) all the while keeping the fact that she’s going to be his future wife to himself.
He wasn’t exactly a jerk, but he did steal my basket. He may be handsome, but that’s beside the point. He’s still a thief.
“Why are the cute ones always crazy?” I mumble to myself.”
“Talking about me?” I scream, whirling around to see the man from outside standing in my doorway, my basket in his hand.
He decides that there’s no way she’s staying in that rundown building when it’s obvious she belongs in his home so guess what he does, he buys the damn building and after finding out she’s a designer, ends up giving her a job too which is a disguise to hide his true intentions.

Pepper was a breathe of fresh air with her quirky mouth and caring personality. She’s attracted to his rugged looks too but like she said why are the cute ones always crazy. She tries to resist his charm and the fact he wants her to stay at his place while the building gets renovated but once she arrives at his stunning house, all thoughts of leaving flies away. I’m sure I would have done the same cause that was a damn fine house.

This was my first Ella Goode novel and I have now discovered I really am not built for reading the short books. (See what I did there?)
I know, I know! I should never have picked it up if I believed so but it was midnight and I really didn't want to start anything long lest I had to stop reading it when I had just got hooked in. Reading 90 pages at that time didn't sound much and this wasn't bad but just, not for me.
But, if I review this while ignoring all that short and too soon shindig, it was good albeit very very OTT. Abel was hilariously outrageous and sort of psychopath-y when it came to Pepper, I mean, possessive is not just an adjective for him but his personality in a nutshell. Pepper was okay-ish for me. Like....meh.
Overall it was okay- short and entertaining.

Now Abel already said no to a job but back tracks when he sees his future wife lol. I laughed at the 360 😂😂😂 and telling her he's fixing her building but she has to live someplace else. As for Pepper shes alittle hot head and sassy giving Abel a run for his money but she lets him get away being a OTT alpha.
Beside their push and pull or Pepper push away, they have few things they have to take care of bussiness wise and for that Pepper has to go on a date with her ex creepy landlord. 🤢 don't worry she hates the idea and tries to get it done and over with little did she know Abel is outside just incase she needed help.

This was entertaining; initially, I found Abel's cockiness annoying, but eventually, this attitude helped him to claim Pepper. This guy's confidence was hilarious. He fell in love with her right away, and not even five minutes afterward, he was already planning for her to move in with him. 😂
And Pepper was fun as well. After initially putting up some resistance, she finally came to terms with the fact that she would have to live with Abel. After all, her apartment is under renovation.
The next thing I knew, four months had gone by and they were still happy together, having finally admitted their feelings.
That being said, I'm currently binge-reading novellas, and this one was actually good.

That was a super sweet and funny story. Totally safe. Both hero and heroine are virgins. Heroine goes out on a date with another man and he tries to kiss her but she avoids him. Adorable epilogue and lovable characters.

He instantly falls for her and basically kidnaps her to live in his fabulous farmhouse for her safety while the building gets renovated. The other tenants move into a hotel. Able also hires her to do the interior design for the apartment building and his farmhouse.

was going to be his but obviously she didn't. Pepper Paddison was an interior designer and he used that as a way to bring her into his life. A few hours after their first meeting he had her convinced to work for him and in his house. Even though Pepper had some doubts about this situation Abel showed her that they were perfect for each other.
It's such a sweet story with a light comedic part. It's on the short side and it goes straight to the point. Solely focused on their romantic relationship with some highlights on his strange almost crazy obsessive behavior. (Abel's character would be perfect for a psychological thriller). The story is told from both Abel and Pepper's point of view, and there is no repetition in the scenes. The romance is quick-paced since it's love at first sight. The characters were fun, he was the laid-back guy with his goal to get the girl. She was a girl who didn't take any bullshit and had comebacks ready when it was needed. Together they made a perfect couple. My favorite part was at the diner who went all caveman on her.
