I read this in college and believe it had a big influence on me, especially my decision to move away from home. Sometimes the most profound truths of life are the simplest...and I like the author's direct, no-nonsense approach.

This is his masterpiece! Reading it again after all these years, I realized what saved my life and how. The ideas of rational self responsibility are priceless. Only we can genuinely free our minds and souls through the patience, understanding and tolerance with ourselves that he preaches and demonstrates in his works. Great stuff! I could not ask for more or better when it comes to bare bones reality delivered to me outside myself. He tells it like it is.

I first bought this book at The Bodhi Tree Bookstore for a little over five dollars in 1989. The message in this book saved my life and answered a lot of questions then, and the answers have ripened and bettered with time and understanding. fabulous read for all high achievers

I read a lot of personal development, business and Christian books. I love the simplicity and actionable application by Mr. Hernacki. I believe this to be a book I will look back and say it has changed my life. I also believe this brings to light goals one may have that does not truly align with what they want. I heard once “do your wildlings match your wants” and to me this is a similar concept. Being honest about what we truly want isn’t always easy as it may seem because many of us have ego, selfishness and people pleasing tendencies that can deceive us.
