Heather's Chase

Rate this book
A stand-alone mystery romance. Escape with Chase and Heather on a trip through the British Isles.

She's harboring secrets.

Caregiver Heather Donnegal reluctantly accepts a tour of the British Isles—a patient’s dying wish. Her roommate tells her to have a fling while she’s there. Heather doesn’t do flings. There’s another reason Heather accepted the trip. She made another promise to her patient, one she’s keeping secret. When she learns her client’s son has been planting lies about her business, she wonders if she should abandon her promise and return home to keep her company from ruin.

He's telling lies.
Private Investigator Chase Nolan has been hired to find and bring back a woman his wealthy client has accused of stealing. The client is convinced his father’s caregiver seduced him into leaving her valuable jewelry and perhaps a lot more. Chase accepts the job, which takes him to the British Isles. He finds the woman he’s been sent to retrieve, but along the way, he doubts her guilt. He’s tempted to tell the client there’s been a mistake, but he desperately needs the money to keep his business afloat.

When Chase discovers Heather’s secret, she wonders if she can trust him to help. Is he the fling her roommate insisted she find? When Chase almost dies on a tour event, Heather’s quick action saves him. Was it an accident, or was someone deliberately trying to harm him? Who? How? And Why? Could it be connected to the man trying to hurt her company?

Terry Odell

Terry Odell was born in Los Angeles and after living several decades in Florida now makes her home in Colorado. An avid reader (her parents tell everyone they had to move from their first home because she finished the local library), she always wanted to "fix" stories so the characters did what she wanted, in books, television, and the movies. Once she began writing, she found this wasn't always possible, as evidenced when the mystery she intended to write rapidly became a romance.

However, her entry into the world of writing can be attributed to a "mistake" when her son mentioned the Highlander television series on a visit home. Being the "good mother" she began watching the show and soon connected with the world of fanfiction, first as a reader, then as a critique giver, and then, one brave weekend, she wrote her first short story.

Things snowballed (if one can use that analogy in central Florida!) and soon she was writing her first original novel. Much later, she mentioned something about a recent Highlander episode to her son, and he said, "Oh, I've never actually watched the show, I just thought the concept was cool." Little did he know what he'd started.

Another winner from Terry Odell. Set in the British Isles, caregiver Heather has been gifted a vacation from one of her clients, but said client’s son is not happy that she has been acknowledged by his wealthy father. Enter PI Chase, sent to bring Heather back to Junior, except Chase discovers along the way that something doesn’t add up.

Set against a backdrop of castles and gardens and waterfalls, this book delivers a sigh worthy collaboration of hearts.

PI Chase Nolan accepts a trace job from a wealthy man to locate a thieving caretaker. When he catches up with her in the British Isles, she’s not what he expected.

Heather Samuel can’t begin to relax on her all-expenses-paid tour. She’d promised Gerry, her last charge, to follow his last wishes. Vacations aren’t her norm and neither is romance, but she’s attracted to a man on the tour.

Can two people at cross-purposes take charge of their passion and destiny?

Another fine read by Terry Odell. I truly loved the rich setting details. I recommend you grab some popcorn, turn on the big-screen stage in your mind, and settle in for an engrossing romantic mystery.
