This book was quite a bit of everything: part sweet romance, part steamy romance; part cozy mystery, part thriller. While I found the plot to be predictable, that did not make it any less enjoyable. I really loved Madelyn. She has been through the ringer, but knows who she is, what she wants, and how to get it. I really admire her. In 1997 I met my wife on the internet, which was taboo at the time. Now, it is a commonplace. So, while reading this book, I was taken back to that time.
Just like Madelyn, my wife carried a good deal of baggage, as did I. In the end, love finds its way to her.

This was a full one. It had a lot of things that had you going further into the read to see the more that was coming. Brem and Madelyn found something more in each other when they were not looking for more with anyone. They both had a past relationship that allowed for doubt to come in.

This was a brilliant, fast read, and I really enjoyed it. I saw the blurb and liked that it was very real, with people who weren’t perfect and were just looking to find what was right for them, after experiencing enough life to have found a few things, and people, that were wrong for them.

I guess I was expecting something DIRTIER or perhaps much steamier in this novella but my expectations were unfulfilled.
It was quite subdued and tad bit misleading after reading the blurb and expecting some RAUNCHY and breathtaking hookup scenes but it was a contemporary instant love and sex story with not much depth. I was just sighing out of boredom.
Predictable plot with some implausible happenings , still might be your sexy BEDTIME story, I would give it a pass.
However I did like some things ...more

The premise of the book was so refreshing. I feel like the romance genre was missing variety so this book is a breath of fresh air. Plus it's also written really well.

This book is amusing, humorous, charming, intriguing, captivating, and satisfying!!
This book is fast paced with strong, forward-focused dialogue, and well-developed, complex, and motivated characters. Each character felt easily recognizable in the story dialogue as their established character profile and character traits stood out.

This was just okay. I enjoyed the romance between the two characters. However, I had the following grievances that took me out of their love story:
- The dialogue, in general, was stilted and awkward. I cringed at times with how weird certain things were stated especially the flirty banter between Madelyn and Brem.
- The first romantic conflict between the two had so many holes it was plain ridiculous. None of it made any sen ...more

Brem Lockwood likes knowing that he can have a conversation with almost anyone. He is really good with people but isn't as smooth with his choice in women. He finds temporary situations because he doesn't like confrontation and he wants to be attracted to the person so he can't seem to attract meaningful deep relationships.

I liked this book, although it did wind up being what I thought it would be. There were some surprises though. Madelyn just got divorced after 20 years with an emotionally abusive husband. She’s been having an on line friendship with a man for a month. She then meets Brem, an actor, and neighbor and they hit it off. She goes back and forth between feeling ok with having feelings for both men and feeling like she betraying them. She decides to go one way and see how things pan out.

Madelyn moved to New Haven to start over after her divorce. In New Haven she meets Brem her sexy new neighbor. Madelyn is torn between her new relationship with Brem and her online relationship with Easton 216 but determined to have a fresh start. This story is about a woman and her trials and tribulations in life, love, relationships and getting her HEA. The writing is great, the characters are likable and the ending is perfect. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. When Madelyn thinks she escaped her old life she has a lot of baggage, she was communicating on line when a new neighbor moved in next door. Bremond (Brem) is an actor he moved in next door he is hiding. They both have great chemistry between them but will their baggage hold them back.

This book held so much emotion and growing for both main characters. We read from the heroine's side and watched as she struggled with each decision and how it went against her previous experience with emotional abuse. Add in a bit of excitement with crazy letters and how that plays out. I thought it was a great story overall. I was lucky to Beta read this book. Both Madelyn and Brem carry a lot of baggage. I love how the two of them meet and it turns out that he's her online sexy-sexting friend. While you know what's coming--of course they're going to find out--it's so fun to watch. Very sexy, lots of fun and great characters.
