When sixty-eight-year-old Sarah Miller moves into the Cunningham Village retirement community, she is mourning the loss of her husband and the place that has been home for forty-two years. But Sarah is a survivor. As she reaches out into the retirement community that is to become home, she finds friends, activities, new hobbies, and a love interest.




In the twelfth installment, excitement grows as the Tuesday Night Quilters plan an antique quilt show. But things go terribly wrong. Sarah and Sophie again throw themselves into the middle of the investigation, but this time Sarah finds herself in real danger. As always, Sarah and her retirement village cohorts offer fun, mystery, and lots of quilting.

This is the twelfth book in this series, and for me the first that I have read, and the first few pages, I wondered if I would be able to get into this read, but I read a few more pages and I was off.
This quickly became a page turner and there is a lot of information or references given for past reads, but I soon knew the characters, and for me what’s not to like about dogs, cats and of course quilting!
We end up with a mystery, and get to see with the eyes of these characters, cherished quilts from past generations. Come and join Sarah and Sophie as we explore the origins and then begin using modern technology to find lost quilts.
There is also a pattern given at the end of Andy’s Great-Grandmother’s beloved quilt that our smart ladies figured out the pattern.
Now I would like to read some of the past books!

This is the 12th book in the series. I have not read the other books but I still knew who the characters were and their part in the series.
If you like quilting or any other crafts/hobbies then you will enjoy this. The friendships and how hey help each other is part of the friendships.
This is a cozy mystery and I was able to read this in 1 sitting.
The friends decide to hold a quilt show but when something happens then there is a mystery to solve and they will solve it if it is the last thing that they do.

The first I’ve read – there is some “catch up” to fix characters and relationships (to each other and families) before the story takes hold. It is, however, a story that takes its time to reveal the joy within a sure-to-please book for those who enjoy crafting and quilting and may want to learn a bit more about caring for quilts, both new and old. The women featured in this book are older ladies, much of their conversation that isn’t about quilts or the upcoming quilt show feature family, health and other issues that one expects with aging, but there is a sly humor and caring between the women that is apparent from the start.

It isn’t until there is a quilt heist, and the women start to try and solve the ‘who did it’ mystery with the inclusion of an old pattern and their own smarts that the story gets a bit more tense and suspenseful. Throughout the story, there are tips and tricks for quilting, repair, creating and care that are like having your own set of ‘quilting mamas’ passing on a legacy, and the combination of humor, twists, suspense and mystery all work together to provide a read that is both engaging and intriguing, sure to fuel more interest in the earlier installments of the series.

This is a fun mystery for elderly readers. It has a very gentle pace. In fact, nothing really exciting happens until a third of the way in when a quilt heist takes place. Much of the story centers around the activities of older people, such as hearing aids that don't work well, trying to figure out how to do something on a computer, enjoying a family celebration, or fussing over a pet.

The mystery happens when antique quilts go missing after the first day of a show. We see how a few elderly people go about trying to solve the mystery, resulting in a bit of suspense at the end. Most of the novel, however, is much more sedate. I appreciated learning some about antique quilts, how they are handled and how they might be repaired.

This book is the twelfth in the long line of quilting cozy novels. The main characters have histories in the previous novels. I had not read any of them so was a bit lost at the beginning with all the references to characters and their family members and relationships.

This is a fun novel, especially for readers also interested in quilting. You'll find interesting people planning fun quilting activities and get some humor too.

This was the last book in the series and it was a cute ending. In the book, the author mentioned Quiltville (Bonnie Hunter's website). If you are a quilter you know about the site. I do and I have been following Bonnie Hunter since the early 90's when we were both on AOL together in a scrap-quilters group. Also mentioned in the story was Quilt In a Day. I use to teach for them back in the mid 90's as well. I loved seeing those names in the book.
The quilt on the cover is adorable and I will be making one soon.

I am sad to see this series end, I feel like I won't be hearing from some dear friends anymore. She is near 90 something now and wrote these books in her 70's. They are sweet, cute and endearing.

I enjoyed this series, but thought the ending of last book was lacking. I read the author's note at the end which mentioned that part of her goal was to send a message to seniors to keep going, try new things, and don't give up on life. Reading about the Sarah and Sophie's adventures and the friendships formed by the quilt club members is a gentle reminder of those things. I am not a quilter, though I have wanted to learn. Maybe I am not too old.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. The characters are all believable and it certainly achieves the authors goal of seeing the complexities, joy, and challenges of agin. Thank you for a fun ride.

Love this series!

I have read every book in the series & hope for more to come! I am a quilter and they inspire me to quilt more & do different things. They are like old friends & I always enjoy seeing what they're up to. Please keep writing!!!!!

I enjoy quilting although I do not doing to a quilt group. I loved the story lines and added quilt designs that were featured in each book. I do not think I would like to live in a senior park with all the mix ups and suspense these folks had!

maybe the story lines are becoming a bit frayed.

I have read all of the books in this series and I’m afraid this one was a bit of a disappointment. Story line is beginning to be fairly predictable. Too bad.
