I loved this book. First Among Nations gave me a deeper view into the life of the various groups that make up the people of Israel. Author Ira Mosen has created characters that bring to life the differences, and, more importantly, the similarities between these individuals. With the beautiful backdrop of the Holy Land and the excitement of the characters connected by soccer and friendship, the novel shows day-to-day life in this country and suggests that there is a desire for co-existence among many, contrary to what we often see reported. It's a thought-provoking read and a wonderful story.
