Rockhounding Oregon is a must-have for anyone interested in collecting their own minerals, gems, and fossils in the region.
This isn't a book read you read from front to back. But I went up and down this book doing some rockhounding, so I am going to mark this 'read'.
All information needed to rockhound in a particular location is provided. Most of the information like land access are still the same, but please refer to the most up-to-date BLM/USFS maps/info or call private land owners before going to a location.
Found some cool rocks with this book on my first rockhounding trip-- shows locations of sites, gps coordinates, what kind of tools and vehicles. Put many of the GPS coordinates in my google maps for future roadtrips so I always know what to look for when I venture out. Really appreciated the honest review of these places and what I should be looking for while staying prepared.
