Rate this book
Winner of the 2022 International Latino Book Awards, Best Spiritual/New Age Book
Written by a Latina who's lived it, this book is an invitation to overcome your familial and cultural expectations, fears, and limiting beliefs, while remaining true to yourself and your roots!

For those who feel stuck in life, who don't see a way forward, who don't believe they deserve to claim their dreams, Sandra Hinojosa Ludwig has one Chica, Why Not? With this book, you will find all the tools you need to accept that the life of your dreams is not only within reach, it is your right.

Sandra grew up in Mexico, where she experienced violence, frustration, and sadness as everyday settings. After unsuccessfully chasing happiness in a corporate career, she found deeper meaning in spirituality and now helps others to realize their dreams while still being true to themselves and their roots.

In this book, she guides you through her six-step program for manifesting the life you want, addressing career, family, love, wealth, and health. She gently breaks down the most common fears and excuses people make that hold them back, inviting you to practice self-compassion as you overcome your own fears and limiting beliefs as well as outside pressures-including familial and cultural expectations familiar to some in the Latino community.

THANK YOU CHICA...I get it now!
Reading, Chica Why Not?, felt like having a meaningful and compassionate conversation with my wisest and dearest friend.
I really resonated with the author's, Sandra Hinojosa Ludwig, sharing of her life's journey about her challenges and triumphs. I learned so much from the practical steps she outlines to intentionally manifest what you want and need in your own life. The exercises and thought-provoking prompts really reinforced for me what she shares and I am now able to follow through.
This book is a gift that keeps on giving.
I HIGHLY recommend this book for readers from all walks of life.

I love this book. I love it's message - Chica, Why not? Why not ME? Even though I am a woman; even though I am a minority (Latina), even though I come from a difficult childhood. etc. (fill in your own struggles) I can create a life filled with the things, and experiences, and people that I want and love. This book teaches step by step, in clear, easy to understand language, how we can rise above our own mental limitations and manifest our dreams.

The Author walks with us, each step of the way, with her encouragment, and her easily relatable stories of how she overcame her struggles and manifested things beyond her wildest dreams. I was especially curious to hear a Latin Woman's perspective and experience with the Law of Attraction. As a Latin Woman, I could relate to a lot of the limiting beliefs the author grew up with.

The world has always been changing and evolving, but it's very exciting to be living during this time in human history where the cry for Racial equality, Women's equality, and raising the general quality of life for everyone - is LOUD. And it's no longer a cry to "someone" "in power" or "in authority" but to OURSELVES. It's so exciting to REALLY understand and KNOW how we manifest our reality and take it further by practicing it and further still by witnessing the effects of our work.

I would especially recommend this book to Latin Women of every age, but it's brilliant for everyone.

What I love about the book is that it is written by a Latina. Since it is written by a Latina, there are so many stories that are relatable in my own upbringing and culture. I loved hearing Sandra’s story interweaved in the book. The book itself is a guide on how to manifest the life of your dreams. It takes you in a journey to gain clarity, by defining what you want. How to collaborate with the universe to “get” what you want. And then a step by step guide on how to stay committed to your goals. Then she ends the book with giving you tools to overcome self-doubt, being compassion with yourself and how to maintain it all.

The last chapter, Continuity, I feel is one of the best ones. How to maintain it is so important. When you’re on a spiritual journey, we often feel like we can’t slip back and if we do, we get so lost before we even realize it. Having a plan to keep from getting “lost” again is so important.

Each chapter has activities for you to do to apply it. I have read many other books by Gabby Bernstein, Marie Forleo, Kathrin Zenika (Manifestation Babe) and I will tell you if you love those you will love this book too. While it is similar it is great add to your collection on your spiritual and manifestation journey.

So Chica buy the book!

I love synchronicities... and the release of this book couldn’t have had better timing.

I’m currently in a search for myself and my purpose, and what I loved about the book is how it was structured!

Getting insight, followed by an exercise or two, helps me because I’m a learn-by-doer. I’m currently in the process of reading this again.

It is well written and wrought with positive intentions.

I love reading manifestation and mindset books written by BIPOC and this book is no exception. As an Indigenous person I could relate so deeply to the patterns and belief systems that we carry. Sandra’s personal shares resonate deeply. I love how this book is filled with relatable stories and practical tips that I can implement throughout my day. I highly recommend Chica, why not? it is a breath of fresh air in the self-help industry.

I love that I can relate to Sandra's story because I am Mexican and there is not a lot of books out there that understand the cultural limitations when manifesting but she does. I also enjoyed the step by step process of her book and how it's based on writing and I love to write. I also enjoyed that she mentions Abraham and ACIM.

The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars for me was that I felt that it got a little repetitive and her starting the chapter in the good part to flashback to how she got there annoyed me at first.

I had a hard time relating with this book due to the “universe” concept. I am not religious really by any means and have a hard time conceptualizing manifestation in the way the author describes. The tips are great however though I feel like I have done some of them and the others I just had a hard time. Not for me but I can recommend for those who feel stuck and haven’t felt like they have gone anywhere and believe in manifestation.

2.5, I wanted to like this but it felt like I was reading the Latina’s version of Rachel Hollis GWYF. And we all know GWYF was toxic positivity for beginners. I appreciated the parts where she shared her story, but I struggle with the concept of life coaches and law of attraction. While this can be used to pull yourself off a stagnant state I believe that professional therapy and a plan will do more for you than “your vibration” will.

I wish I knew that this book would have written exercises to do, so I could of bought it than borrowing it from the library 🥲

I noticed little habits that I need to work on and this book really gave me some clarity. Always be present in life, and never go for a “happy ending” but a JOYFUL LIFE ✨ Continue to learn, and what trigger my emotions. And to be Gentle with myself, todo pasa.

Gracias Chica 💗

If you love manifestation books, you'll love Sandra's story and words. She includes so many tips and exercises for applying the techniques she talks about to your life immediately. If you've never read a book on manifestation, Sandra explains it clearly and in ways that make it easy to understand. I enjoyed it all very much and as a creative, especially enjoyed the chapter on commitment and finding inspiration and also chapter 4 on fear and what holds us back.

I’ve come to the conclusion it would be far more beneficial to my energy to just give up on books like this.
The exercises were interesting enough that maybe it would come off better as a journal/workbook than an actual self help book.

This book was okayyy, it was very repetitive but I appreciate the mapping ideas. I flagged some of the exercises that I’d be interested in mapping out.
