Zach Stone. My fake fiancé turned almost fake husband.
Before this mess, he was just a guy that I casually hated. Zach is the typical rich dude who is so clueless about people’s feelings that I wonder how no one has slapped him across the face yet. That gorgeous face. But his stone-cold heart also made him the most eligible candidate for this drama. The plan was simple. Say my fake vows. Fulfill my dad’s dying wish. Meanwhile, Zach gets his inheritance and tosses me some cash.
We’ve gone to great lengths to orchestrate this. So why am I secretly wishing that he’s in love with me when he says, “I do?” And more importantly, am I in love with him too?
Enjoy Clara and Zach's adorable love story and HEA! All the books in this series can be read in any order!
This was a steady paced, entertaining read that I really enjoyed. Clara was a hoot with all her missteps. She is the cute and kinda nerdy girl that has always crushed on Zach since they went to school together. Zach is worried about his father who is showing signs of ill health and he will do anything to help save the company from his fathers ailing ways. Clara can not find a job, and she refuses to become a burden for her parents. Clara takes matters into her own hands when she calls Zach for help. What she didn't expect was for her hot crush to become her even hotter fiance.
Written as a 1st person, multi pov with a HEA ending. Good story line, great characters, engaging dialogue and easy to visualize detailed descriptions.

The marriage may be fake, but their feelings for each other was real! by sewsummore
Clara was having one of the worst days of her life. She was an unemployed marketing manager, and had just bombed her last four job interviews of the day, and then tripped spilling coffee all over herself. If that was not enough, the male who came to her rescue was Zack, the guy she had the biggest crush on in high school. That night she she looked Zack up on line and learned that his company had a vacancy for a Marketing Manager. Even though Zack had not recognised her, she was desperate to call him for an interview. Zack had noticed that his father was experiencing the early signs of dementia and was hoping to convince him to retire before he destroyed the company. However, his Father wanted proof that he was ready to settle down before passing the reins over to him. When he mentioned that Carla was coming for an interview, he also mentioned that he was thinking of getting engaged. When Carla arrived his father greeted her with open arms thinking she would soon become his daughter-in-law. Carla was surprised, but played along, determined to ensure she was given the job. Zack convinced her to become his fake bride and in the end Carla agreed. Her father was dying of cancer and one of his last wishes was to walk her up the aisle. This was a large part of why she accepted his offer and as the days drew closer to their fake wedding both Carla and Zack knew that the fake wedding had become something they wanted for very different reasons now that they had fallen for each other. I found this story amusing at times, and frustrating most of the time. The two of them had fallen in love with each other and were too uncertain to reveal the truth to each other. The chemistry was there as well as the desire, but the wedding is hijacked by family lies and is abandoned. This story eventually end happily for these two lovers, but what followed after wedding fiasco is something that you will have to discover for yourself by reading the book. I found the ending of this story showed a very different side of the characters. How Zack shows is regret made entertaining reading but there was more of their story to be revealed.

I was interested in the 2nd book in this series but after reading a few pages, I thought it would be best to read this book first.
Clara is out searching for jobs and in between interviews, she stops at a coffee shop where she embarrasses herself in front of her high school crush. She's 33 years old , still hung up on a high school crush, and apparently frequently falls/trips/spills things. After failing interviews, falling on the floor of the coffee shop, and spilling coffee all over herself, she isn't even given a chance at her last interview. She makes her way back to her car but not before taking off her heels and walking through San Francisco barefoot. She changes clothes when she gets home but no mention of her ever showering which is disgusting.
Her crush doesn't recognize her at the coffee shop but she starts stalking him on social media and finds his father's company is hiring in her field. Rather than apply like a normal person, she calls the company to speak with Zach. He's not there so she calls him at home. We're expected to believe that a 33 year old billionaire (and his brother) still live at home with their dad and have the same phone number from high school that Clara has conveniently held on to. Zach once again doesn't remember her from hugh school but she also mentions seeing him at the coffee shop and apparently he was intrigued by her there. She snags an interview but Zach's dad thought it was a girlfriend calling. Zach rolls with it because his dad wants him to settle down.
Clara shows up for the interview and is hired immediately because Zach introduces her to his dad as his girlfriend and mentions proposing soon. Clara discusses this with Zach after the interview and is incredibly rude to someone she's crushed on for so long that just gave her a job when she was desperate. I stopped reading at this point.
Poor Clara, life seemed to fall off track for her. She lost her job, her parents have helped her out financially, and sadly, her dad's dying of cancer. His wish is to see his daughter walk down the aisle before he dies. We meet her as she is spending the day going to interviews, which unfortunately, are not her strong point. She's a bit of a nerd and not very coordinated, if it can go wrong, it will. Deciding to grab a coffee before her last interview, she sees someone she knows and tries to rush out of the shop, tripping and spilling her coffee all over herself. That someone, of course, comes over to help her. Zach was the boy in high school that everyone had a crush on, especially Olivia. Being popular, good looking and from a rich family made his life look perfect. But appearances can be deceiving. He's who she was avoiding in the shop. When he goes to help her, he doesn't recognize her. She leaves, but she stays on his mind all day. He is also trying to convince his dad to let him take over the company, but his dad wants him to prove he's become more responsible. An online job advertisement catches Olivia's eye, it's perfect for her. The downside... it's Zach's father's company. She desperately needs a job, but can she be around Zach? Well, her predicament sparks an idea for Zach to help him with his quest to look more responsible. If he can get Olivia to agree to the arrangement he has in mind. This was a fun read and I totally recommend it! I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
MINUS 1 star. I can't even be funny, this book made me so mad.
What the hell was this? I can see this author sitting down to write, thought of a line, wrote it, immediately forgot what she just wrote, and continued to type in order to reach the word count she aimed for to begin with. There is no consistency to ANYTHING. Literally sentence after sentence, there is no logic, no feeling, no effort, this was a mess, was there even an editor involved? Did they also have attention deficit disorder? Character dialogues are stretched by repeating thoughts and lines established 1 second ago, going on and on about the most unimportant details, through the painfully small and lackluster puddle of vocabulary dear author has, and skipping the actual meat of motivations, actions/reactions, and consequences. It's kind of astonishing when I think about it, this book is the exact opposite of what a book should be, like a mirror image into bizarro world. Heroine gets progressively drunk, but do we get to develop any kind of understanding of her? No, but we get to read her inane convos with her friends, and about her trip to the grocery store, and the things she bought, and her trip back, and the type of alcohol she drank. Dear author has a problem with clerks too, every single shop clerk or assistant is a supposed asshole, and if dear author hates them all so much, WHY OH WHY do we get to suffer through every single meaningless conversation with them? I have the sneaking suspicion it's because she needed to finish this book whatever means necessary.
This book ties a couple of my favorite themes together and left me giddy with happiness over how much fun it was. First, there’s the fake relationship. We all know that it’s going to turn into something that neither of our leading couple was expecting, but it’s always interesting to see what’s going to happen on their way there. Then we have the unrequited high school crush complicating matters. Add in a ton of family drama, a couple of lovingly meddling friends, and what you have is a wedding, and relationship, that’s quickly spinning out of control. I loved clumsy control-freak Clara. These are two traits that really shouldn’t mesh well, but on her they worked. And Zach? Oh Zach. He’s sweet and bumbling, caring and clueless. He’s so caught up in wanting to do what’s right and not being hurt by another woman that he manages to make some pretty spectacular mistakes. His apology game is on point, though, and we get a completely charming ending out of it. I also like the groundwork that’s being laid for the next book. I’m already looking forward to reading it. I have a couple of unanswered questions that I hope will be covered. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
Communication is key even for a fake relationship! This is about Zach and Clara. They both went to high school together, but he was the popular kid while she was a nobody. The story starts off with Clara looking for a job as she was recently laid off. She has several interviews in one day and the last one is the one she hopes to get. She stops by a coffee shop to get a boost and ends up seeing Zach and making a fool of herself while trying to leave without him noticing her. He of course does not recognize her but hears her make a comment of how unbelievable it is that he doesn’t recognize her. The story has a slow start but then jumps into the interesting part when she calls his home to speak to him concerning a job that was posted on their website. The story is funny as you have a stubborn woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t ask for permission and rather tells it like it is. It also has some touching moments for both parties with their parents. I loved how it all ended, but the drama it all caused was just laughable including her friends, Bella and Sarah, and his brother Logan.

Immature heroine and her friends are driving me crazy! The 33 year old claims to still be crushing on the popular guy from high school. The one who’s friends teased her. The one who sat in front of her in class with his gorgeous blue eyes. The one who never stuck up for her, never really did anything for her.. and the one who she just bowled into in the coffee shop.
A clumsy adult isn’t cute. She’s a walking disaster! My eyes hurt from all the rolling! Again and again this supposed adult marketing manager is sprawled out on the ground surrounded by paperwork like some baby giraffe who can’t control its legs. Not cute. The baby giraffe certainly would be, but Clara most certainly is not.
Fake dating is totally my jizz.. but we’ve gone from her mooning about a guy she crushed on in high school, to her hating him because he didn’t recognise her in the shop, to her using him as a connection to get a new job - he in turn using her to appease his father, and if you’re struggling to keep up with that... their little impromptu ‘eating’ session when she needed to stop by her house will have your head spinning! WTH!? How did we get to that so fast? And why? I can’t keep up, and I don’t want to. I don’t need the eye-rolling headache. Mission aborted!
Clara, 33, had recently been laid off from her job and was having trouble finding employment. She literally ran into her high school crush, Zach, and later called him to apply for a job at his dad’s company. Zach wanted his dad to retire but he told Zach he would need to provide more stability before he would retire. Zach let his dad believe that Clara was his girlfriend, soon to be fiancé, and Clara agreed for the job, money, and a chance for her seriously ill dad to see her married. Clara was smart, controlling, and outspoken and Zach Is also stubborn and doesn’t believe in marriage after his mom cheated on his dad and left the family behind. Will they discover they might have feelings for each other and go through with the marriage?
I thoroughly enjoyed this well written story. The author did a great job providing background information on Clara and Zach so you saw their personalities and realized why they acted as they did. It was fun seeing their feelings develop and I loved Clara’s bossiness and wit. The epilogue was a perfect ending.

Sadly, not as good as some of her other books. This book had many of the elements of dozens of other titles in this genre and theme, but the annoying characters of Clara and to a lesser extent of Zach, along with the disappointing plot directions made me dislike this novel. Clara is an infantile, immature, insecure clutz. At 33, still a virgin and decides to lose it to her enemy on top of his office desk? Oh ...please! The actions and the emotional groundwork of the characters, as laid down by the author were inconsistent. There were too many unnecessary tension points designed to artificially increase the drama, for instance, the fiasco at the wedding instigated by Logan, Zack's brother, was totally out of place at that point of the story. Eventually, there is a happy ending, as all that was thought to have been fake, in fact, wasn't. The language and editing were satisfactory on the other hand. The author has many other books in this genre which are in my opinion better, wittier, the characters and their actions are better coordinated.

Summer Brooks always brings us a good romantic comedy and she doesn’t fail with Here Comes the Fake Bride. Clara and Zach knew each other in high school. Clara had a huge crush on him but she was just your average girl and he was from the wealthier side of the tracks and sort of a bully and he never really paid her any mind. Now many years later they both need something from each other. Clara is needing a job and applies at the company that Zach’s family owns. Zach is trying to prove to his father that he is capable of running the family business but he dad just doesn’t think that he has matured enough. Zach gets the bright idea to ask Clara to be his fake fiancé. When he asks her this, she has to really think about it but she needs the job, money and she wants to grant her sick father his wish of getting to walk her down the aisle. What will happen when all this starts to unfold will they be able to tell the difference between the fake feelings and the real feelings? Summer brings us plenty of laughs along with a cute story line that has plenty of heat.

Clara wasn't having her best day so far four of the five interviews hadn't gone well and she just ran into her old high school crush just before her last interview of the day. Clara calls her friends over later that night to talk about her day and who she had run into. Also she had look into Zach's family's business and they had a job opening in her field. her friends encouraged her her to go for the job and to forget about him. When she calls Zach he thinks he has a stalker until she proves otherwise. The next day when she comes in for an interview Zach surprises her by calling her babe and introducing her to his father as his girlfriend. As soon as their own alone he explains his plain and lays out a contract that will benefit them both. Will she go along with him? What will happen when real feeling get involved?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This was a quirky and funny book that I read from cover to cover. Clara was a real pistol. She could wear a person down with her bristling remarks, clumsy antics and need for perfection. It took a special kind of guy to find those things endearing and see the real person she was behind her quirks.
Zach was not without his own issues. If was not really ready to settle down but as the title says, he needed a fake bride to convince his father he was responsible. They both needed the fake marriage for their dads.
The fun part of the book was watching these two struggle between the “what’s fake” and “what’s real” and pretty much drive one another crazy in the process. I promised myself I would include In my review the laugh-out-loud moment during a flashback to high school in the cafeteria and Sarah point to Zach across the room using her “spork”. Now, that’s school cafeteria realism.

I downloaded the revised version of this book to read and review, I found this story by Summer Brooks enjoyable to read. I've read a lot of her books and I love the humor among the romance and angst. This delightful story is about Zach and Clara. Clara is going to job interview to job interview when she decides to get some coffee and at the coffee shop she runs into Zach, her high school crush. Self-conscious Clara trips and spills her coffee on herself and when Zach asks if she is alright and he doesn't recognize her, she leaves mad. Later that day checking out Zach social page, she finds a job posting at OBEL, Zach's dad company. When her friends come over to console her about her day, they tell her to call Zach which she does. Meanwhile Zach worried about his father losing his memories, jokes that it's his girlfriend calling. What occurs next was a page turner in this enjoyable Romcom. I volunteer to read and review this ARC via Booksprout.
Another fun read from Summer Brooks. Clara crushed on Zach in high school. Now she is 33, unemployed, interviewing unsuccessfully, a terminally ill father who last wish is to walk her down the aisle and she runs into her high school crush, yeah her is life is just perfect. Zach's father's memory and business acumen are failing (although he's in denial) and he doesn't think either of his son's have matured sufficiently to take over the company. Coincidentally there is a marketing manager position opening at Zach's family's company. Thinking she has nothing to lose, Clara reaches out to Zach for helping landing an interview. Zach having lied to his father about being in a relationship decides on a course of action...Clara gets her job and they get a fake marriage to appease their fathers. But their relationship or lack thereof is fraught with issues, like is it fake or not? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a great read by Summer. Clara and Zach are exactly alike. They are both stubborn and want to be in control and their love life sucks at the moment. Zach wants to impress his dad and Clara wants to make her dad happy before he dies. What better way than have a fake wedding. Zach was Clara’s high school crush and when she sees him again, her clumsiness gets her in a situation. These two had me waning to bang them upside the heads with how they were acting.😂 There is some drama, misunderstandings, feelings revealed as well as truths revealed. This is a cute story and I really got a kick out of Clara’s two best friends and Zach’s brother. This was funny, sweet, romantic and a little hair pulling at times. 😂 I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I can’t wait to read more in this series.
6 Stars -- WONDERFUL STORY! Full of good things! Summer Brooks takes the reader on a wonderful journey with HERE COMES THE FAKE BRIDE. The characters are described with color and zest, with a realness that makes you want to get to know them over a cup of coffee. Sure, there were times in the story that an individual character needed a comeuppance, but that just makes for good reading. The book has every single thing that I like in a good read. It has laughter, fun, angst, steam, and a grand happy ending. Throughout the book the reader knew how it would end, yes you do, admit it. Or do we? But the fun is reading about how it happens! This author gives us the prose to keep us reading from start to finish without putting the book down, not even for sleep. It’s a great read!
This is my first time reading something by this author. What a cute and romantic story! This was an entertaining and enjoyable read. A fun and unique story and full of great moments, this book will pull you right in and keep you engaged and smiling all the way through. I loved the character of Clara, her nerdiness was what made her so charming. And Zach is so sweet and caring, but really clueless! The interactions between these two were fun to read. The author does a great job of bringing the story to life with great characters that are lovable and endearing. Loved this story and looking forward to reading more in this series!

Her Fake Engagement is the first book in the Irresistible Billionaires series. I am not quite sure what to say about this book except for me it did not hit the mark. I have read several other books by Summer Brooks and quite enjoyed them. So this one took me by surprise. There were parts that were witty, fun and delightful. But there there were parts that just did not seem to fit and at times things jumped around a bit. Then don't get me started on Clara, the h, as I found her unlikable at times. I really hate to say this but this book was a disappointment to me.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own and I know that others have loved this book.
This was really enjoyable, and to the usual high standard that all of Summers books are! I loved the story and characters and how the plot developed. The only thing that let it down was that I wanted to know how Logan found out about the arrangement the main characters made 're the wedding? Who betrayed the MFC and why would Logan stop the wedding to discuss his mom and Dads history? Surely that could have waited and wasn't urgent, overall this wasn't a huge issue it just left me with some unanswered questions.

Realising Nothing Was Fake - This fake marriage romance is full of snarky witty-banter, stubbornness, insecurities, amazing chemistry, subterfuge and a hidden family secret. Zach doesn’t believe in happily ever after and Clara is a hopeless romantic, who wants to find the love of her life. Even though Zach and Clara are total opposites, you will find yourself rooting for them to get out of their own way and tell each other how they feel, so they can get a happy ending. This is another gem from Summer Brooks, with a storyline that sucks you in at the beginning and doesn’t let go until the end.

I'm usually not a fan of fake relationship/mariage stories; this Summer Brooks 's book might reconcile me with this genre; I enjoyed it a lot !
Clara and Zach enter a fake mariage to please both their fathers. Through huge family drama and interfering friends, their relationship will evolve to the point of not knowing what's real and what's fake.
This book is funny. I really liked how they both interacted with one another; their chemistry is off the charts ! They really are made for one another. Hope Logan gets his story told ;)
I received an ARC via Booksprout and reviewing it honestly.
I love fake relationships that work there way into real ones. To me, this was just ok. I've read loads of "fake" type relationships and this new to me author's style is just that..new to me. Even still, I didn't feel the chemistry. I liked Zach but he came across as young when it comes to being a man about his feelings. I didn't really like Clara, she seems to be smart and great at her marketing job but she's stuck with a high-school mentality when it comes to relationships, since this one was fake she was just too obsessed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Clara had a secret crush on Zach in high school but he didn't know she existed as she was not his type. Now, as adults, they strike up an agreement to get fake married!
The story-line was good but I was disappointed with Clara & how she was portrayed. If she's independent & successful in her career this would be so much more believable if it spilled into her personal life. She's lacking maturity, cannot control her alcohol & one too many times pushing him away. Zach needed to be a stronger character also. Not one of Summer's best but this one is still a good read!
I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.
Clara and Zach haven’t seen each other since high school and Clara has a crush on Zach. Now they are older and they decide to get married so Clara’s father who is dying can see her get married and Zach’s father will let him take over the business. The only problem is real feelings are developing but they are both not sharing. Can they tell each other how they feel before they make a mistake? Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended. Great book
Clara and Zach went to school together. She had a big crush on him but he didn’t know she existed. Now she was his fake fiancé and working for his father’s company. This funny and exciting romance follows Clara and Zach as they fumble through their fake relationship but turning real with all of their dramatic events and secrets starting to unravel causing chaos and turmoil to their already questionable relationship. Good read with fun characters.

This is the 1st in a new series and is Zach and Clara’s story. Zach will do whatever he has to in order to save his ill dad’s company. Clara has had a crush on Zach since school days, and when she is struggling to get a job, and not wanting to be a burden on anybody, she is flabbergasted when she ends up as Zach’s fake fiancé. This is a steady paced read which is humorous, entertaining and a great little read. I was intrigued and hooked throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.
Such a mess! Clara is such a mess, that is annoying. He clumsiness is top level. As her bff says - how she made it this far in life is beyond me! And more than that, on her wedding day she choose to drink tequila - and rather to much tequila, that she were plastered..... And Zach is the clasic alfa male, who fall for the girl but can’t say it to save his life! Fortunatelly, from the mess with fake romance will blossom the real love.
