New York Mafia Dons #1

Her Irish Daddy

Rate this book
He may be dangerous, but I can’t resist the urge to call him daddy.
A secret kink I’ve never explored draws me to an underground club.

My new friend and colleague is a regular member and convinces me to join her.

What I didn’t know is the place is run by an Irish crime gang.

Even worse, the leader of the gang takes an interest in me.

Something tells me he’s not used to taking no for an answer.

Devlin Murphy is six foot four of pure muscle, plastered in tattoos.

He has dark eyes you could lose yourself in and an accent to die for.

It seems he has a specific kink, one which strikes a chord with me.

He wants me to call him daddy, and I don’t think I can deny him.

He will demand my obedience and punish me without mercy.

Risking my heart with the devil might get me burned, but will it be worth it?

Her Irish Daddy is the first book in The New York Mafia Doms series by Bianca Cole. This book is a safe story with no cliffhangers and a happily ever after ending. This story has dark themes, hot scenes and bad language. It features an over the top and possessive Irish crime boss who loves to dominate.

This was a joke. I picked this up for daddy kink and only got disappointment. Our hero was a "supposedly" crime boss, but he was just an obsessive stalker wishing he could be a boss. He seriously broke into her apartment after she turned him down and thought it's okay be he knew she wanted him. Yeah ... no. Also, what kind of crime boss has this many incompetent people under him? As much as the heroine fussed about his behavior, she was just as dumb as he was. I can't put myself through another minute of this.

It really annoyed me how many times she said that she's a virgin. I got it the first time, you don't have to repeat it 5 times in one chapter. And the hero's role as mob boss seemed ridiculous. You can't be successful if you're surrounded with incompetent people, and all people that work for him are idiots, even the ones with important roles.
Also, he broke into her apartment, after she rejected him and told him that she wasn't interested. he tells her that she wants him, she denies, knees him in the balls. He grits his teeth and tells her that after a week she'll come to him. And even though she says she doesn't want him, she goes to him. And that's where I stopped reading. Everything looked like a joke, and I couldn't get into it.

Fantastic! They are forbidden fruit for each other. They have instant chemistry, even across a room. It isn't the 17 year age difference that makes Devlin and Ella ill suited. It's the fact that he's a mob boss and she's an innocent.

I love that she may fear him but it doesn't stop her from challenging him or giving him a well placed knee. It's awesome!

If you read the Bratva Brotherhood series, you will see some familiar faces and rehash some events but from different POVs and lesser details. If you haven't read that series and you like dominating bad boys, you should read it but it's not necessary to enjoy the dark, dirty, dangerous world that Ella finds herself in. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The word tummy should never be used in an erotic novel... Ever. I you're reading this for an understanding of Daddy kink you won't find it here. Where was the Male MC's charm and character? He came off as a stalker and a total creep, the multiple first person POV made it a while lot worse.

And Ella, oh Ella another graduate from the Ana Steele school of lousy heroines. Amazingly, this naive woman knew how to handle a gun. Dnf around the 30% Mark, skipped to the end. Yep, Ella has completely stuck her head in the sand to Devlin's criminal activities and she's pregnant! Brilliant all is well with another little gangster on the way! I hate baby epilogues at the best of times but this has to be one of the worst.

(Disclaimer: Ok I should have known a mafia novel was going to be unsavoury but I found the killing of his former cook for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time hard to take. It's probably the killing of innocents that usually puts me off reading Mafia romances in the first place.)

Not a genre I read a lot of, tried it, wasn't a big fan of the portrayal of the MC.
I'm glad I read it and made room on my shelf.
Dark romance lovers who enjoy quick reads will like this one I'm sure.

I rated it five stars and it WONT LET ME CHANGE IT but i’ll roll with it.
I thoroughly enjoyed being able to imagine this book being narrated by an Irish accent. It was very funny. Some of my favourite Irish lines were: “It’s a bad idea to tease a beast like me”, “Be alert, baby girl”, and all the time he says “Lass”.
Overall, I was very pleased when it was over!! What a new experience that I won’t be repeating!!

So I have read other readers’ review of this book and seems like many didn’t finish. This gave me a Fifty Shades of Grey vibe with twist of mob. The main character seemed a bit creepy with the stalking and then breaking into Ella’s apartment. Also “daddy” was used in every other line and he wanted to get her pregnant but said it as “he wanted to breed her.”
Maybe this just isn’t my troupe. There are better smut books out there but am I going to read the rest of the series? Yes, yes I am.

A simply captivating read that is full of attraction and action
Devlin Murphy is well known with in New York as the head of the Carrick, the Irish Mafia has known his strength for over twenty years and he has been leading his men in their various tasks and is well known for his temper and his vicious actions.
He owns a club known as Kink and as a BDSM club he has seen it grow and the number of clienteles has also grown along with the club’s reputation. When he had seen the woman enter the club it had instantly piqued his interest and this had been something that he had not felt for many, many months and he was surprised by the unexpected attraction.
Ella is beautiful twenty-two-year-old that had finally built up her bravery and had gone to the club on an open knight to see what she had though of the atmosphere and at what was on offer within the walls of the club.
The attraction between the two of them is electric and as he is determined to make her his however when he discovers the fact, she is inexperience it makes him more determined to make her all his and she would want for no other man.
As the animosity begins to grow between the various groups in New York the Irish and the Russian’s comes to a head and is seems that they are more that willing to use Ella as the prize and Devlin will not allow any thing to happen to his little girl, her Daddy will always do whatever is needed to recover her and bring her back home.
This is a wonderful read filled with action and battler with love and attraction, once started you will find that it is impossible to put the book down until you have completed it.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Exploring will take her to a new destiny

Her Irish Daddy is the first book in the New York Mafia Doms series by Bianca Cole. If you love your book boyfriends as dark Mafia man who are very possessive and protective Alpha Doms with a fantastic Irish lilt then you will love this first book. This story is about Devlin Murphy and Ella Antonia and of course a whole lot of kinky hotness.
Devlin is older and is the fierce boss of the Carrick Irish Mafia. He owns a BDSM club named Kink which has built a reputation among certain clientele. He is a Dom by nature who has a short fuse and is exacting in his action, both in the club and with the family.
Ella is young and innocent at twenty-two but she does have a kinky side deep down. She finally has the courage to go to Kink when they have an open night to see if she liked what it had to offer.
When Devlin saw Ella walk into Kink he knew immediately that he wanted her. She is everything that he is not and it is what makes him sure she is the one that is meant for him, his perfect little girl. As Ella has never explored the kink that lies within Devlin is determined to help her, making her all his and him her big Daddy. But there is danger lurking around the corners as Irish are Russian's are about to come to blows which will put Ella right in the cross-hairs. It will be up to Daddy to keep his little girl safe while everything around them erupts.
This is a fast-paced, exciting, steamy, sexy, heart pounding book. Bianca Cole has crafted a story-line and characters that were well balanced and hook you from the start. The attraction and chemistry between Ella and Devlin is palpable while you are reading. I enjoyed this book a lot as it made for a wonderful read.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I really enjoyed reading this rather intense dark mafia romance. It has an interesting, well-paced plot with good world building & scene descriptions. The characters are well-developed with perfectly flawed personalities & have good chemistry between them although one of them (Devlin) was not really likable in the beginning but he continued to develop throughout the storyline to become a likeable, well-adjusted individual.
It is about: a brutal boss (Devlin Murphy) of the Irish Mafia (Carrick) inexplicably notices a young woman (Ella Antonia) entering a BDSM club (Kink) owned by him naturally the attractions begin flare between these two but unfortunately so does the danger increase.
There is: various kinds of crime syndicates, rivalry, animosity, friendship, law enforcement, corruption, action, twists & turns, intrigue, drama, suspense, danger, threats, enemies, violence, conflict, war, death, devious plans, abduction, blackmail, deceit, betrayal, defiance, chemistry, discipline, spankings defiance, confrontation, compromises, truces, steamy scenes, contentment & a happy conclusion.

It was okay.

This book has an alright plot but it moves really fast and I don't know that I necessarily believed the chemistry between them. I know he was obsessed with her but they didn't have a real conversation once and he's somehow in love with her? And her, him? Like... it's just good sex with someone who understands their kink. They had zero connection.

And the dialogue was weird. Needed to be read aloud. And I know he was Irish but he didn't read Irish at all except a few well placed 'lass' nicknames. Which also read weird. Example of dialogue:

I shake my head. “They’ve not caught us yet. We need to keep moving.” He raises a brow. “Positive even in the direst situation, you are perfect, baby girl.” He nods in determination. “Yes, we will keep moving and hiding until we get the hell out of here.”

So many times there needed to be contractions or just modern vocabularly/usage. Who said "they've not caught us"? Lol. She's a 23 yr old American girl.

Disappointing

I had hoped this was going to be a good book based on the snippet I read before downloading, but was sorely disappointed when I read it. Below are just some of the main issues I had, but most definitely not all of them.

-poor representation of the BDSM community (Devlin stalked Ella throughout the book and refused to take her answer of ‘no, not interested’ - made the Daddy Dom aspect seem like a highly toxic individual)

-little to no character development (you get a MAYBE one paragraph explanation of the characters past and never really hear about it again)

-characters were extremely immature and wishy-washy (Devlin is 39/40 years old and acts like he is in his late teens/early 20’s - Ella makes a decision and then two paragraphs later changes her mind)

This was a tough one to even finish.

The mob boss and his crew are totally incompetent. I actually wondered if the goal of their foolishness was to be funny, but realized that couldn't be because it wasn't that funny either. The leading lady is a total nitwit, and then somehow she magically is able to have the gun handling skills to save the mobster.

It was just all so ridiculous. There were also spelling and grammatical errors. I hate to leave unkind reviews, but it would be irresponsible to not be truthful. There are fantastic dark mafia romances out there. This is just not one of them.

OUTSTANDING READ!!! 10/10 I WISH I COULD GIVE IT MORE STARS
Devlin Murphy is six foot four of pure muscle, plastered in tattoos And the head of the Irish crime gang Carrick. But he has got bored of late. He is the owner of Kink a BDSM club where anything goes. He brought it to launder money for the gang, and it had been a long time since a woman had grabbed his attention.
Ella Antonia has just arrived at the kink club, she wanted to see what all the fuss was about and if she was honest with herself she wanted to know if she could get the kinda man she wanted who could give her everything, See Ella is a virgin but she has a kink of her own, she wants a strong man who can control her. As she looks around she spots a man who made her catch her breath. But she tried to look away but her eye kept catching him staring at her. She excuses herself from her friend Jamie and goes to the bathroom but guess who is waiting for her? And he makes sure she knows he wants her Ella finds herself melting until Jamie comes and breaks it up. Jamie has a few things she needs to tell Ella about Devlin but will she listen or follow her pounding heart???
This is a brilliant read that has everything. Passion, Chemistry, danger, excitement and pure love. This book was so addictive I couldnt put it down. I was totally draw into Devlin's life and Ella's struggled to see the man behind the gang, but their pull for one another is just stunning. Their passion and chemistry is explosive and my heart melted for them.
I wish i could give this book more stars its just brilliant!!

DNF 18%

Usually I don't review or rate DNF titles, but this book was just really bad.
I read this book in German and it was probably translated with an app. The grammar was incorrect and a lot of the sentences didn't make sense. This is the main reason I did not finish the book, but not the only one.
I do love dark romance and enjoy a good "daddy kink" book every now and then. This book was the opposite. Nothing made sense.
The MMC is a huge Irish gangster who is afraid of the FMCs friend? Well, okay...
Also he's not dominant he's basically just an asshole. I'm tired of reading books where assholes are portrayed as dominant.
He basically ambushes this girl in a dark corner of his club, where her friend can't see her, pins her to the wall and manhandles her by telling her she doesn't know what she wants and feels, while at the same time he thinks she has to go soft on her because she's new and inexperienced to BDSM. Makes sense? Not really. Then he breaks in her apartment because he's just some psycho and calls her babygirl all the time and assaults her. Is this taking it slow? Probably not. Weird shit. I can't read this book any longer. This is not BDSM and he's not dominant, he's just a lunatic and I'm not into these kind of books. I really hope she kicks his balls more often, but I will not continue reading and see how many excuses she will make for this guy just because he is hot.

First book in the New York Mafia Dons series

The first book in the New York Mafia Dons series dives headfirst into the intriguing world of dark mafia romance, where dangerous allure meets intense emotions. Centered around a captivating Daddy kink dynamic, the story takes readers on a thrilling ride through the complexities of love and power within the underbelly of organized crime. The characters are well-crafted, each bringing their own depth and complexity to the tale, making the interactions not only engaging but also relatable. With a decent plot that weaves together elements of suspense, romance, and the tantalizing tension typical of mafia narratives, this book manages to deliver a satisfying experience.

While the spice level is just right, providing enough heat without overwhelming the storyline, the pace keeps readers hooked from beginning to end. It’s a quick read that effortlessly balances the darker aspects of its premise with moments of vulnerability and connection between the protagonists. Although the Daddy kink trope isn't one that particularly resonates with everyone, the author handles it with sensitivity, ensuring it complements rather than overshadows the central narrative. For those intrigued by dark romances, this book sets the stage nicely for the next installment, leaving readers eager to dive into the sequel and explore more of this thrilling world.

There just simple wasn’t much development character wise

It started off pretty good. You had a female lead that seemed to be independent in nature, a domineering male lead who who’s arrogent and really doesn’t understand the word, and this almost hidden theme of kink. Firstly, there wasn’t any development, other than her being unable to deny him, that would lead anybody to believe that Ella actually cared for Devlin. Secondly, the fact that there wasn’t any development in the world one thing that brought Ella and Devlin together (her kink) was honestly upsetting. Thirdly, Devlin didn’t seem to change at all from the beginning of the book considering it ended at the one year later mark. He still was arrogent and hot-headed. The only issue that was actually solved was the one regarding Devlin’s ineptitude at running his own organization, and that was only because Ella interjected herself. Lastly, I don’t think this would actually be classified as a ‘Dark Romance.’ There wasn’t any mature scenes that would be under dark. Most definitely mature for the gun violence and scenes with Ella and Devlin, but there wasn’t any explicit langage or event that would need anything other than PG-13. This book just way too left much to be desired.

I’m not a big fan of these types of books, but I have to say that I quite enjoyed reading this story. I love a Daddy Dom story and a reluctant Baby girl. But the story grabbed me right from the very beginning. Well worth reading. But I’m not surprised with Bianca Cole’s work.
Ella has gone to a club that her work colleague invited her to. When she is there, she attracts the attention of the club owner Devlin who wants to dominate her and keep her as his baby girl. What Ella didn’t know was that he is also the leader of a gang and is dangerous. But she loves a bad boy. There are sparks right away between the two of them. Ella is going to lose her virginity to Devlin, once he realises that he is her first, he is determined to be her one and only. But his boys have crossed the boundaries into the Russians territory and now they are at war. Their lives are in danger and they have to fight their way out of it. There is lots of heat and action and thankfully a happily ever after.

Wow just wow...

Ok so i really liked this book. Holy hell it was 🔥🔥🔥! The only negative i could say about this book was... *!*POSSIBLE SPOILER*!* i felt like it kinda ended on a cliff hanger even tho it didnt. The reason why was Delvin's attack. I NEED to know why the cartel came after him at the end. Why out of the blue did that attack happen? What started it? I need answers lol. Other than that lil tid bit this book was so hot. Oh my Delvin!!! He was such a hot, jealous, possessive, Alpha.hole. I loved it! Just reading him dirty talking and saying baby girl.. Whew it was 🔥 and had me squirming for more! The plot was really good as well. It didnt over power the building of the main characters relationship and i loved that. At one point i wanted to shake Ella and tell her you knew he was a bad man so why get all butthurt when he does something bad.. I mean come on! Overall tho this book was amazing and i cant wait to read more of this series!
Love love love this book.

Her Irish Daddy is the first book in Bianca Cole’s New York Doms series. In this book, readers meet Ella Antonia and Devlin Murphy. She is an editor working at the Jackson Bloom Publishing firm. She is a LG. He is the don of the largest Irish mafia crime family in New York. He also owns and runs a swank sex club, the Kink. He is a DD. Destiny brings these two together. But will they be able to stay together.

Ms. Cole does a remarkable job with this mafia romantic suspense. She employs a two-prong approach to her plot. The first being the navigation of a Don keep his hold on his piece of the criminal underbelly of New York. The second is the romantic journey of Ella and Devlin. This is also an age-gap and semi age-play romance. Through Ms. Cole’s use of a dual point of view readers get to watch as Devlin works to righting the course of his romance and mafia family. I enjoyed how she uses dialog, dual point of view, and descriptive language to create vivid scenes while building tension to move her plot along. Nicely done, Ms. Cole

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. There was a lot to like about this story. Devlin and Ella met when she is invited to a club by a friend. She has always been interested in kink even if she has not explored at all. Devlin knows the minute he sees her that she is meant to be his. No one has ever caught his interest like this. When he sets his sites on her, so does his enemies. The Russians are more powerful and out to make a statement. Ella gets caught up in a world she knew nothing about. She is not sure her attraction to him is with this but he is not letting her go. Devlin is going to have to keep her safe because he has plans for their future and will not accept anything less. This was a fast paced story that was well written. The characters draw you in and you cannot put the book down.

This is Book 1 to Bianca Cole's New York Dom series. The first book we meet Devlin Murphy who is the head of the Irish Mafia in New York City, 39, owner of a club "Kink" where anything goes. He is a Dom and only wants to be with submissive women who will fill his needs. He lays eyes on Ella and he instantly becomes obsessed. There is an instant draw to her but he knows he is going to work for it because her new co-worker and friend who is against her getting involved with Devlin. He is dangerous and will be a bit much for her being a young virginal girl who's never experienced much before.

Her attraction for him is as consuming as he feels for her. Watching them come together as a couple is all consuming. His dominating personality is intense and hot. You will enjoy watching them find their way to each other. This is a great introduction to this new series of Bianca Cole. There are some re-occurring characters/events from her other series; which is always fun! Happy Reading!

Meh

Read for free via Kindle Unlimited.
Thought the summary was intriguing, and the overall theme seemed to be onpar with my current binge. Plot had good potential. However, multiple typos, grammatical errors, and sentence construction issues brought the entire thing down.

****Spoilers Below****

I found it annoying every time the Irish and Russian crime syndicates were referred to as a "gang." Mafia is definitely more appropriate as the groups are considered organized crime.
As for the plot - it wound up leaving a bit to be desired. 22yo virgin goes to a bdsm sex club, but the sex she eventually has (with the owner, no less) is very vanilla. Multiple references to Devlin's (aka Daddy) preference for DDlg but it's never actually discussed with Ella nor is it acted upon (aside from multiple statements of him wanting to take care of her).

This was really good except for one thing; it felt rushed. I would’ve liked to see more depth and character development. I understand instalove stories are usually short for a reason, but this didn’t quite feel like an instalove tale. She doubted him and pushed him away right almost to the end. I would’ve liked to see more build up…more of him chasing her, wooing her. More of the tension between the different mafia factions. There’s also some plot holes that were never filled in: Jamie’s mysterious hold over the publishing company Ella worked for, the cartel assassin’s attack was never explained.

The spicy parts were good and didn’t overwhelm the story. And while I caught a few grammar and spelling mistakes, they weren’t enough to ruin the story.

I’m going to randomly pick another of this author’s stories before I decide whether or not I’ll recommend them in book group.

Ella goes to a club with her coworker Jamie. She's always been curious about the lifestyle but has never been with another man before. When she gets there she looks up at the balcony and sees these piercing eyes that speak to her. How can one look change everything?

I do like that Devlin calls Ella *Baby girl*. Their first meeting was a lot to handle. I was surprised at how forceful Devlin was in the beginning. He moved a little too fast. When Devlin ran after Ella I was so excited to see what she would say. I hate how Ella was denying herself something that would make her feel alive. I was definitely shocked when Devlin showed up at Ella's apartment. Ella's shirt is epic.

This was an okay story.

I've never read a book with my name in it so that was cool.
