Are you frustrated by the fact that your life doesn’t look the way you imagined? Whether it’s too little money, a struggling relationship, or a dead-end job, it can seem as if nothing works out the way you hope it would. Kris Ferraro's The Practical, Simple Guide to Creating the Life You Want is the solution.

But when our focus and attention is sunk in darkness, that becomes all we experience in our lives. Manifesting offers a transformative new approach. By focusing on what you wish to have or achieve, instead of despairing over what you are missing, you will find that you can manifest those very things in your life.

Author Kris Ferraro is a practitioner and teacher in the areas of healing, growth, and metaphysics who has used manifesting in her own life and practice for years. In Manifesting , she guides readers to envision and create the lives they’ve always dreamed of with real, actionable steps, exercises, and wisdom.

Manifesting is exactly what the title says it is, practical, simple exercises and guidance to help us achieve the life we want. I loved this book, it resonated with me on every level. Chapters are informative and filled with wisdom. The author included many affirmations and exercises to help us transform our thinking and live a happier, more fulfilling life. I started using some of what I learned in this book and already saw some benefits. I am grateful for that and finding this book at the perfect time on NetGalley. I will be preordering the book and will be looking for Kris Ferraro's older work.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my digital copy in exchange for an honest review. I am not sure what made me request this book as I have pretty much given up nonfiction on Netgalley as I am pretty disappointed in many of my past choices. But I would have to say that out of all of the manifesting books I have read, this one was my favorite. I even messaged the author on Instagram to tell her how much I was enjoying it. I also had to create a new tag on Goodreads titled "get a copy" because this is one I am going to want to buy eventually in physical form. I would 100% recommend it to anyone who is into manifesting...or even wondering if they are into it. :)

This book provides the reader with the refresh of an everything shower. Consuming a read like this tends to the mind, as going to the gym does for the body, and clean eating does for the being; the reader will feel on track with this book in hand as part of their days. As titled "a guide", I will be picking up this book as a tool, to revisit certain chapters to meet corresponding challenges as they present for me.
The concepts are 101 for this category. Though, the takes retained Kris Ferraro's flare to them, so some different directions are given on matters that authors like Gabby Bernstein and Rebecca Campbell similarly cover. Having read a lot in this genre and like Kris professionally, counseling has built my reperitorie of these notions to be expansive. Connecting with the author's flare, I still gained advancement on introductory, simple, manifesting self-help essentials through her unique review. She didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but brought her personality to the points.
If you've made it this far down on a review for this book, you're likely someone who loves when things connect. This book in opening shares about turning your life into gold, and later, cites an Emerson quote, really establishing a theme to my summer 2023 reads and previous review on Upstream. Further, she talks about the practice of writing positive reviews; a new hobby I've had this summer has been writing these reviews on books recently read - ah the synchronicity. This was an overall takeaway for me that I appreciated. This, and the fact that I was gifted this book for my graduation, and unbeknownst to my best friend the gifter, just how many specific ways I'd align with it that became more and more clear as I progressed through it. On a smaller scale, I'll mention the takeaways that established my advancement in this work.
First, her outlook on repercussions. If you fall short on a stated commitment to yourself, having an alternative healthy & life-affirming penalty. It sends the signal of keeping your word while promoting betterment habits, even if you fell short it still goes the mile. The day I read the chapter about signs, I received using prompting provided by Kris. She does a thorough job in covering what comes next on many of these subjects, like after attracting a sign. I value how specific she gets on how to situationally do these exercises, like say "affordable" instead of an exact number figure while manifesting financially; this one refutes some other advice I've gathered and I appreciate counter views. Her figure-eight exercise for left-right brain connectivity apparently a force to compliment and drive manifesting stood out to me; learning body-based strategies to support mental work is my favorite. I love reinforcements. The take on constantly reviewing experience to make a running list of what you want, is something I just so happened to naturally and informally be doing this summer (more synchronicity!), and also is a great way to take the edge off living I'd say. If you are a lister, this is an enjoyable way to commit yourself to processing and tracking, without constantly finding ways to task yourself with the byproduct of getting clarity, can't go wrong here. Her exercise to catch the monkey mind was so simple yet smart. Post-it's in my counseling practice just got promoted to first class through this one. I'd mention, I think this would be a great exercise to engage with a significant other over. Awareness and abundance truly are ways of the world, and that was reiterated in her accounts. I appreciated her accenuation regarding emotion and the power of feelings, it's clear how she landed in counseling with values of such. It was good to be reminded to manifest feelings, and the force feelings can carry is what life's about. Wants; our development and evolution, are synonymous with feelings. The section on freewill connected even with my last fiction read/review in this summer so far, specifically how the passage here referenced romantic relationships - a parallel blend to the topics of that book, freewill and relationships together. Feelings in, forcing out. I repeat, inhale feelings, exhale force.
As I wrap up this review, I'll mention some of the freshest takes I think I got from the whole book. 1. Her outlook on negative thoughts and feelings. "Say them out loud, don't say them, pretend they're not there, it doesn't matter. The energy behind them exists whether you give words to them or not. Your energy speaks far louder than anything you say or do." Happy guilt free ranting. Of course, Kris followed it up with what comes next. It's your responsibility to fill that space with "positive opposites." Releasing stress and pain doesn't have to be controlled and worked all the time, and with this reminder, she frees us. I stand by her points emotion work is recent work, it's an innovation, and it's a privilege; a luxurious quest. Commit to finding the richness for yourself when you can. She covers about tapping, meridian points, and qigong practices, really encompassing many techniques to support this work. As far as saying, breaking green glass specifically releases frustrating doubts. Intention, direction, and proven ways are the way to my heart. Kris (and the universe of course) will meet you wherever you are with this material and these modes. "I don't see how this can happen" - and that's okay, because "and I don't need to know.", the sweetest part she puts us in touch with through allowance. The power of yet, adage from my counseling work with kids, she wraps up here, reflects on the spiritual that was covid-19, a societal vision and advocacy on the tenets of everyone being fed, clothed, housed, educated, safe, fulfilled, and free. She leaves us with the hope, manifestors can and will usher this in for all. All this is really what matters.
Thanks for reading!

Manifesting is exactly what it claims to be: a simple, practical guide to creating the life you want to lead. The word 'creating' here is critical, as it implies not just living around the circumstances our life throws at us but actively co-creating and crafting our future in the way we want it to be. Ferraro strikes an incredibly delicate balance by providing a toolbox full of actionable exercises to manifest one's desires while also explaining the deeper level of peace and compassion one can nurture for oneself through contented surrender.

I've followed similar lines of teachings of many stripes in both religious and secular backdrops, and each of them uses a varied range of preferred terminologies and/or emphasizes different aspects, methodologies, or reasonings behind manifesting desired realities. Everyone has a focal point that resonates with them, whether it's nascent scientific evidence of the mind-body connection, or a loving relationship with an all-knowing God/Higher Being/Universe, or a level of desperation, openness, or curiosity to improve one's health, finances, careers, and more through less tangible means when all else fails.

But the fundamental message that we are a combination of soul, mind, and body and that tapping into our transcendental selves vis-à-vis a higher power can open up an infinite realm of possibilities for us remains the same. Ferraro does a great job drilling down this underlying thesis and soothing the skeptical mind by providing concrete experiential testimonies from both herself and her clients. She demystifies this philosophy/spiritual lifestyle/whatever you want to call it with easy steps and techniques. Her tone is full of compassion, like a gentle coach that encourages you to practice and experiment with different techniques until you find something that clicks with you.

Sometimes words like 'manifesting' and 'alchemy' rub people the wrong way. You might think this isn't for you because you're not spiritual, or simply don't believe in 'that kind of stuff.' Even if you don't, you'll find comforting affirmations and helpful practices in this book. Who knows, the Universe might have a surprise for you! Looking forward to the publishing of this book - I will definitely want to keep a copy by my side.

Thank you to the publisher for making this ARC available through Netgalley.

I’ve read a few books on manifestation and this is by far my favorite. It’s such an organized and practical guide to manifesting. I listened to the audio version, narrated by the author, and I was taking notes like crazy, so many that I may buy the physical book so I can highlight important info because there’s a lot of it! You’re going to want to highlight all of her affirmations; many of them spoke to me and this is definitely an easily obtainable daily routine I can do to give myself the life I desire. If you’re looking for a more positive outlook on life or are just wanting more out of your life, this book is a great place to start! Kris acts as a personal coach for a wide range of topics that will resonate with many people.

This book reads like a collection of every self-help cliché from the past decade—compiled into diary-like fragments that offer neither substance nor real depth. Instead of fresh insights or inspiring reflections, readers are met with an endless stream of “You can do it” mantras, affirmations, and uncritically recycled self-care slogans.

It feels as though the author consumed one too many self-help books and decided to write her own—unfortunately without offering a truly original perspective, meaningful insight, or any literary merit. Between all the “blah blah,” “la la,” and heavy-handed nothingness, any hope for guidance or intellectual gain is quickly lost.

Bottom line: More of a monologue by the author than a book for readers. Well-intentioned, but ultimately irrelevant.

This was a most marvelous and useful book. Anyone wishing to manifest more abundance and prosperity into their livers should read this book. Miss Ferraro gives several useful and easy to follow techniques for manifesting most anything, whether it be a new car, job, or relationship. Miss Ferraro's writing style is entertaining and lively as she's "been there" before and experienced lack and an unfulfilled life. All the practices and techniques in the book she's practiced her own self to create a better and more fulfilling life. She relates her own experiences in an entertaining and humorous way that you can relate to yourself. A most useful book.

This book has an interesting opening - very few in this genre open with the story of a failure. It's a nice change, and shows some of the work that needs to be put in to making these changes real in your life.

Even when it's stated that this book will attract your interest when you need it, the timing is not correct for me. The advice, while solid, usable, and well-written just doesn't seem to 'fit' right now.

Manifesting is my second read by Kris Ferraro. It is jampacked full of tips for creating your best life. Although I have read many books on manifestation and the law of attraction, the author has some unique exercises and tips to share with her readers.
I took my time to read it very slowly.
The last few chapters felt a bit rushed, and I would have loved to see more information on EFT tapping included. Otherwise it is an excellent resource.

Highly recommended. This book was very well written and helpful. I read it over the course of several weeks, inwardly digesting it in small bites. The author presents concepts clearly and meaningfully, with connections to her own story. I really liked that the author connected these concepts to mainstream faith concepts as well. Much appreciated!

This book has a number of great tips and strategies for manifesting what you desire. I have already seen some results! The trick is actually putting these strategies in place. Ferraro gives you all the tools to do so; it's up to you to do the work! I will be returning to this book again and again to review all the lines I underlined.
