Don’t drink and text.

Even on the cusp of forty, I had to learn that the hard way. After discovering my best friend, who I was supposed to grow old and single with, got engaged, I drowned my loneliness in one too many Old Fashioneds and woke up with thirty-nine responses from every available man in my phone. Yup, I even texted my plumber…and he turned me down.

Apparently, my

This is the fluffy, cute, laugh out loud love story I’ve been waiting for. The banter is on point and kept me laughing throughout the entire book. The references to some of my favorite movies really helped me feel like I was the main character, Annie.

Annie, a doctor entering her 40’s has never been lucky in love. Annie’s two best friends have started to settle down, and she doesn’t want to be lonely. One night while Annie is at her local bar/Trivia night, she gets drunk and sends a mass text to

A delightful, fun romantic comedy with loads of quirky characters and even a dog named Joanne.

Annie is a concierge doctor in Chicago who is about to turn forty and starts to reassess her life when her best friend and roommate suddenly gets engaged and moves out. During an alcohol-fueled evening, she texts 39 of the men in her contacts and tells them she is ready to settle down and asks if anyone is interested. She’s surprised when two of the men reply that they are interested! One if Robert, th

*special thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!

I thought this book was super cute, and I liked Annie and Dax, but I didn’t find their relationship super convincing. It was rushed and I don’t know of cute moments happened off the page, but not much happened on it.

And I was also incredibly bugged by Kelly, so any scene with her I didn’t enjoy. She was a horrible friend... unsupportive, not understanding, selfish, I’m not sure how they staye

Thank you Netgalley and Entangled publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book didn't work for me. I liked the idea of a drunk text leading to self discovery but the characters felt too flat. I'm probably not the target market for this book but I just couldn't root for the main characters. And their whole relationship felt rushed and mismanaged. I wish we could've seen more softer moments between Annie and Dax and their relationship more fleshed out than trivia ni

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

It's Raining Men by Julie Hammerle is an enjoyable story of an almost 40 year-old doctor who, after getting incredibly drunk, wakes up to the possibility of two marriage proposals of convenience and yet a subtle attraction to the 27 year-old bartender who took her home (platonically). The book goes through the highs and lows of getting older, friendships changing, and the restless feel

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book unfortunately didn't do it for me at all. I can't remember the last time I wasn't actively rooting for the main characters to get together but here we are. There was absolutely no chemistry and minimal build up. They don't get along at first (and not in a fun way, just in an "I am indifferent towards you" way) and there is one scene where sexual tension is hinted at. And then suddenly bam. Annie cannot hold back any longer. I was ho

It’s Raining Men by Julie Hammerle a five-star read that I would shower with love. I adored this story, it was so nice seeing characters go after what they wanted and yes, they cared what others thought, but it didn’t stop them. Annie warmed me to the deepest parts of my toes, from her strength for others, to her random quiz knowledge she made me smile at every turn, especially for how she is for Joanne and Boo. Annie may be the main character in this story, but she wasn’t the only one I adored, ...more

When I saw the title It’s Raining Men I knew I had to read it. I love that song by the same name from the 80s. What a delightful concept—raining down all kinds of men for women to select. Dr.Annie is lonely. She’s so busy her social life is nil so she agrees to be a feature on the evening news to drum up interest romantically. Suddenly, she has 3 men to choose from. I knew immediately which one she would end up with. It’s a good story about Annie realizing her happiness has to come from within a ...more

This is a quick, fun, light hearted read. I liked that there was a story surrounding the romance aspect. So many friends and side characters but they weren’t just flat. Also I love when dogs have people names. #teamJoanne

This is the sort of story where you know where it’ll go, and which guy it’ll be, from the get go. Even so, it’s fun to see Annie figure herself and her world out to get to it.
The end relationship did feel like it maybe it could have and should have had more depth to it tho

Finding herself single at almost 40 has Annie fed up. Annie takes her dating life in her own hands like any smart woman would do, she gets drunk and sends some infamous drunks texts. Will these drunk texts work out or will Annie find Mr. Right on her own?

Thanks to Julie Hammerle, Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this book; I very much appreciate it.

This was such a fun book! I enjoyed the characters, especially Dr. Annie. Although I was happily married at her age, I could really relate to how she handled her 24x7 job. I enjoyed her romance, and I'm always a sucker for books with dogs!! This is a perfect book to start the summer with -- it's a quick and easy read that left me smiling.

IRM by J. Hammerle, published by Entangled Publishing, is a witty and fun read. The perfect summer beach read, flirty, light, fast-paced, fun rom/com, heartwarming.
Annie is a 39 year old doctor who accidentally texts her contact list. Answers come from 2 men, Darius the flashy news reporter and Darius the boy next door. And then there's Dax, the bartender with a crush on Annie too.
An entertainng read, well written, 4,5 stars.

USA Today best-selling, RITA nominated author Julie Hammerle writes romantic comedies for adults and teens. Before settling down to write "for real," she studied opera, taught Latin, and held her real estate license for one hot minute. Currently, aside from writing, she ropes people into conversations about Game of Thrones and makes excuses to avoid the gym. Her favorite YA-centric TV shows includ ...more
