A gripping story of adventure, friendship, and romance in Africa. Five people from different worlds are brought together by extraordinary circumstances on this beautiful but unforgiving continent and challenged by unexpected events brought on by economic hardships, political corruption, and military conflicts. Marc sets off on a journey through Africa to deal with a personal tragedy. In Ethiopia his friends are kidnapped while traveling through the countryside and forced to march for days over harsh terrain to the Eritrean border. Marc is drawn into the search when he realizes that time was running out because of the political wrangling of governments. Together with a Special Forces team from the African Union, he launches a rescue mission, setting events in motion that would change five lives forever.
Confluence is Neville Menn's debut novel and is loosely based on a chapter in his life when he spent two years traveling through Africa by motorcycle. He was born and raised in South Africa, emigrated to Canada in his twenties and lived there for many years. He now lives and works in Seychelles, a tropical group of islands in the Indian Ocean. He is currently writing his next novel but still makes time to explore Africa by motorcycle when time permits.
