Enchanted by a Fiery Lady

Rate this book
Adelaide is enamored with the most dashing Duke in London. When he ends up betrothed to her more socially polished twin sister, she must put her own feelings aside. Just before the ceremony begins though, her sister has a change of heart and Adelaide unexpectedly finds herself walking down the aisle in her place. Can she keep her real identity a secret when burning passion starts to bloom between the newly-wed couple? Or will her fear of losing him threaten her chance of having her dreams come true?

After grave misjudgements and misunderstandings, Duke Colin agrees to a match proposed by his mother. This might be his chance for redemption after all. Their pairing may not be the result of love, and even though he has never even seen her before, he still hopes that this may be the end of his woes.

To his surprise though, the more he gets to know his new bride, the more he finds himself falling for her liveliness and fiery, passionate personality. Will he be able to let the guilt go and succumb to this fierce chemistry?

Fate brought them together under unorthodox circumstances, but truth is they cannot hide from the unprecedented passion between them. When outside forces will try to break them apart, will their feelings keep them united and stronger than ever?

Nice, enjoyable regency romance with mistaken identity, interfering exes, stubborn parents and handsome heros. It all works out in the end. I did enjoy the book, but the first part was definitely the best part, it dragged a bit to the obvious ending. Still, worth an escape read.

Great little story that, while an easy read, it does pull at your heartstrings. Adelaide and Serena are twin sisters and only their mother can tell them apart. When their father announced that Serena is betrothed to a handsome, wealthy Duke Adelaide is heartbroken. She has been secretly in love with her sisters fiancé. During the preparations leading up to the wedding, Adelaide supported her sister even though she had feelings for Serena’s intended.
On the day of the wedding, Serena, who wanted to travel and not be tied down as a matron, suggested they trade places. With that suggestion, the story takes us on a story filled with love, obligation and mistaken identities.
While some may think the premise done previously, the road to their HEA is brilliantly achieved.
Thank you Lucy Langdon for the opportunity to read and review this delightful book.

I liked the characters, and I found the premise interesting. My only complaints are that some parts of the story felt rushed and other parts of the story which should have presented difficulties were glossed over.

A nice, safe romance. I enjoyed the characters and thought the premise was unique and full of promise. I couldn't help but feel there was unfulfilled potential in the plot. Still, it was an enjoyable read that stirred one's imagination.

Adelaide is enamored with Duke Colin but her parents betroth her identical twin sister to him. At the church right before her sister is to walk down the aisle they trade places! What follows is the story that warms the heart. Great read! R. K. Carulli

The premise was good but I have questions and they weren't answered by this book! I also didn't understand why Adelaide was a "fiery" lady.

It was undemanding and easy to read on a hot day.

What a great story of twins and their adventure with love and the ton. Cute little twist and I love that the jilted Lady didn’t get her way and screw things up for them all.

Let's meet our cast of characters.

Lady Adelaide (Addie) Haddington, Mar Anne (her lady's maid), her twin Lady Serna, mom and dad, Baron Grey of Waterston, and Lord Colin Honeyfield, ( the Duke of Richmond), and his mother. Lord Colin's cousin, Richard Balfour, Earl of Mornington.

Addie has an infatuation with Lord Colin even though she has one seen him from afar. He is the one who smiled at her. She is the wild child, always flaunting the rules and manners.

Now Lady Serena is to marry him. Serena is the obedient one. She wants to travel and explore the war even though she knows it will never happen.

Lord Colin wants an honest wife who wants him not his title. He hopes for love but will settle for deep affection. While his cousin Lord Do hard hopes to remain single and unencumbered.

Addie helps her sister with the wedding plans while Serena just wants it all to go away. Lord Colin does nothing but deal with his estate business and Lord Richard's antics. I

As the hussle ensues with the wedding and not meeting or seeing each other, these two have no clue what will happen. On the flip side you have Addie wishing it was her and Serena also. Then the day of the wedding twin stick together and help the other. Mom and dad know the truth but don't know how to fix it. The more the newly weds learn of the other the more troubles arise.

Let's just say twin-hijinx ensue and guilt being out the truth and all is solved.

Adelaide knows that she needs to be happy for her twin sister Serena as she is about to get married but she thought that he was her prince charming. Lord Honeyfield knows that he is expected to marry so when a bride is chosen he agrees. Colin knows nothing about her other than that she seems to be a good person. Serena knows that there is no way that she can get married she wants to travel so she is hoping that Adie will take her place. They have gotten away with it but Adie hates lying to her new husband but she has no choice. What will Colin do when he finds out the truth will he throw her out? She is in love with him and she can't imagine not having him in her life. Is there any way that the twins can sort this out before it is too late?
A good read.

Double Trouble – Double Happiness

As a whole, this is a charming story with likable characters. The plot is not unique, but it was well developed and executed, with the exception of a few errors listed below. I truly appreciated not only the happy ending but also the epilogues, which made the romance stories more satisfying.

Sadly, Lucy Langton made a few mistakes that are common to new writers on the Regency romance scene. She didn't research the titles and subtitles of the aristocracy. Also, this book needed a good editor and proof reader.

Content alert: Although Ms. Langton tried to keep this book clean and sweet, there is one marital scene of sexual intimacy.

Disclosure: I received an complementary copy of this book from the author. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.

Sweet, well-written storyline. Adelaide has been attracted to her twin sister Serena’s betrothed for a while. When Serena decides she really cannot go ahead with the wedding, she implores Adelaide to take her place. What comes next between Colin and Adelaide, makes for a delightful afternoon read. I enjoyed this story and highly recommend it to all readers.

I could not find a good page to truly sink myself into, during the beginning stages of this novel. I like to imagine it in my mind as a movie as the pages turn; however, I never could find footing to actually get that started here with this story. I would possibly like to try again later, hopefully it might be a better fit.

A well written story that that flows with the characters and a very enjoyable and exciting story. You have interfering family, friends, lies, suspense intrigue, drama, danger, emotion and so much more. I really like this one. Regency romance is one of my favorite reads and especially when it is as great as this one.

Addie and Serena are identical twins in Regency England. Addie is the less ladylike one and Serena the more ladylike and obedient twin. The novella is about an arranged marriage, a change of place at the wedding and the confusion wrought by it all. It is typical chick lit set in Regency days. Thanks to the author and publisher for an e-galley for an honest review.

Great story and well written Colin and Adie were married by mistaken identity . Sadie had been in love with Colin since forever but her twin Serena was to marry him and they did a switch at the altar. her parents found out and Adie and Serena confronted Colin. Anyway not to spoil the story both twins had their HEA would recommend.

I read a PDF version on my computer and found it a great story squeezed into just 74 pages. This was the first book I've read by Lucy Langton, and I will definitely look to read more of her stories.

It took me a little while to get into it but it turned out to be such a sweet story. Wish more of the story was about them developing their feelings for each other.
