Gail is a nurse in the war and Clark is a soldier who got hurt. They fell in love and he promised he would find her after the war. After the war, she moved to Chicago to be with her widowed sister and niece. Four years have passed and nary a word from or about Clark has her hopes down. Clark is now a U.S. Marshal and could not find Gail. He happens upon her by chance, they meet again and are married. Little does she know what her new life entails~ they are in Lost Point and a bunch of horse thieves come to town creating havoc. Clark discovers there are many in the gang and they have been taking horses from all over. Now, it will be up to other lawmen, the townspeople and others to fight them in a battle to keep the town…who will win? I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Two people who meet during a bad time for this country, a war. They end up separated and keep their love for each other even though they are apart. Then he finally finds her and they end up in a round about way in the wild west. Now things are still bad, but in a different way. Can their love survive? And can they? Nice heartwarming and heartbreaking read both. Good read. I recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

Gail and Clark met when he was a patient in her medical unit during the war. They realized they had feelings for each other. Clark vowed to find her after the war. Four years later and they both wonder where the other one is. Clark finally gets a clue of her whereabouts. They get together and make a life together. They are married a very short time when their marriage is challenged. I had trouble laying this book down, it's very gripping.

All out chaos
Wow! I think this is the first book I’ve read of the Wild West where in a town battle, women actually took part in it, armed themselves and actually went for it. I was actually intrigued with the push and pull relationship Gail and Clark had. It was like their characters were clashing but at the same time weren’t.

The Hesitant Bride
A good, clean western historical romance novel. The characters are charming and show spunk, strong willed personalities, but they also appreciate each other for who they are. I enjoyed sharing in their trials and tribulations. A must read for lovers of Western historical romance novels.

I enjoyed reading this book! It is a western that starts during the war and then continues after the war is over. The lady is a nurse who helped in the war and one of the soldiers that she nursed and fell in love with. I recommend this book to anyone who loves western romance!

Don’t give up she is out there somewhere
The story of Gail and Clark is fast moving and filled with all sorts of excitement. The villains in the book were well written, as they were truly awful human beings. I highly recommend this book.

Strength Is Asexual
This is an action packed adventure book without romance but a love story thrown in. I sat spellbound as I read this book. This author did a wonderful job of producing an entertaining tale.

Irritating characters
The protagonist comes as whiney, anxious, and argumentative in a fearful state. The plot is quite simplistic to a childlike level.

Poor Title
Good story but dragged on in many places. I didn't think the title fit the book. I was rather glad to be finished with it.

Clark Danforth a soldier meets nurse Gail Elmore, a love story that begins in the middle of a war. Sweet historical romance full of excitement and wonderful characters.

I usually enjoy books set in the Civil War era but I got bored in this one and skipped to the end.
