Horrible story.
Draging to the point of boredom.
And the fmc was a total pushover with absolutely no backbone at all. She had shitty friends, shitty brothers and a shitty husband. And honestly, the father in law is a total idiot also.
The mmc is just a total idiot. Disgusting man whore with a narcissistic tendency.

WTAF!!!! Spoiler alert 🚨

MC, heroine, Angela’s dad falls ill, needs expensive treatment and a random multi-millionaire dude she does a good deed for whilst not knowing he is rich, says he’ll foot all the medical bills if she marries his son, without telling said son true reason of forced nuptials leaving him to assume she’s a gold-digging slut (his exact words, not mine), doing it for the money which technically she is despite her noble intentions.

MC hero, Xavier is a spoilt, honest to god pretentious asshole who on their wedding night purposely sets up his new bride to find him on their wedding bed, balls deep inside the woman who did her damn make-up for the big day.

She is the first of a number of women he screws, even in their shared penthouse during his marriage, and whilst this all goes down, we get from Angela...nothing. Doesn’t say shit, lets him call her names, SLUT, BITCH, MONSTER, you name it....screams at her, allows a table of his rich, bitchy friends to talk down to her and call her fat (she’s totes not and who gives a fuck if she is?!) while he laughs and encourages them, flirts and fucks a different hole each night and still from Angela...nothing....

She just walks away, doesn’t call him out on his shit. Goes where he tells her to go, wears what he tells her to wear and she reassures herself that she’s doing it for HIS dad, Brad, whose brilliant idea it was in the first place to marry two strangers with nothing in common.

What really touched me and why I gave this book 1 star, is from Brad’s point of view where he repeatedly says he is doing this all for Xavier, so his son can change for the better, be a real man and grow to love........PSYCHE! I can’t give 0 stars or take away stars so 1 fucking star it is.

Brad you motherfucker, you sacrificed this insecure, naive yet good hearted young woman putting her in a desperate position in the hopes that your little dick of a son can grow a pair? Uh-ah. It’s not a fucking woman’s job to make a man feel better about himself! It’s not a woman’s job to ‘mature’ these men, to help them act like a decent human being and to not treat women like cum buckets (that’s your fucking job, Brad!) It’s not a woman’s job to be arm candy to help a man impress and attract potential business partners (maybe, BRRRAAAADD, if you hired someone competent instead of relying on good old fucking nepotism, your company would be fucking fine!).

Turning point is when they’re on their ‘forced’ honeymoon (thanks again, Brad) and they crash on an island and Angela nurses an injured Xavier allowing him to see a softer side to her.

They’re rescued and back to their lives and our heroine still lets him treat her like garbage even when he finds out from his dad the truth about the arrangement. She still goes where she’s told, puts up with his hot/cold moods, his purposely flirting with their dance instructor because he liked that his wife was jealous (gold star for this hero) and even having him lust after one of his old fuck bunnies. I was so proud of him when he resisted temptation and didn’t fuck Peggy (or Penny??? I forget. There’s just so many names, so I’ll say hole number 6). He totally deserved a reward for resisting his baser instincts.

This guy’s a keeper and so is this book.

Download it from that awesome GALATEA app where a chapter a day, keeps the loneliness away! 👍

(Literally, you can only read a chapter a day or pay to skip forward. I strongly suggest you save your money and give towards the The Boys Initiative organisation as an alternative to forced marriage in helping young men develop skills and self-awareness to assist them in moving through life with confidence - so women like Angela don’t have to!)

This book isn’t romance it’s abuse porn trash. Essentially typical “I can fix him” abusive relationship.
The male lead is an irredeemable emotional abuser but gets a pass because, aw poor man baby, his ex hurt him and he’s rich. He takes out all his anger on his new wife, the spineless pushover female lead, who he was forced to marry by his naive idiot father who threatens his CEO position. He decides to make her life living hell as “punishment” for agreeing to the arrangement by constantly berating, humiliating and degrading her, literally every single chapter, because he’s convinced himself she deserved it. He hates all women and thinks they’re all “gold-digging sluts” (author’s actual words that he calls her to her face multiple times) and assigns that label to her the whole book. Idiot Father is blind and selfish by taking advantage of the fact that Spineless Pushover is desperate for money she doesn’t have to save her sick father, because “she’s a pure soul”, and convinces her to essentially let his son use her as an emotional punching bag to “save” his son’s heart instead of treating him like a grown man responsible for his actions and sending him to therapy. Then he convinces himself that they’ve fallen in real love just so quickly and his plan is working and they play into the charade to keep him convinced.
Side characters include sick father who’s like a forgotten extra most of the time even though he’s supposed to be her main motivation, neglectful brothers, a shitty opportunist best friend, and a sexual harassing ex-employer.
By the end of the first book she’s still just quietly taking abuse and neglect from all sides and I wouldn’t be surprised if things miraculously turn around without any actual character development, retribution or apology. I won’t know because I quit. This author just wanted to write about a perpetual victim and martyr.

Very poorly written, with minimal character development. Huge gaping plot holes and the story ended in the middle of a scene… not even a cliffhanger, literally mid scene. I’m baffled why I even bothered to finish this drivel.

Galatea: Not worth you money, time, or effort. Please do me the favor and save your money for an actual BOOK! Not chapters. A BOOK. Galatea, much like all other chapter a day books, are stupid and make you want to buy points for the next chapter. How many points does it take read the next chapter? 10. How many points do you get if you buy the smallest amount of points 40 for $3. You can do the math, that is only 4 chapters extra and IF you are only reading one book at a time. Seems legit. You can even call them and talk to them for 20 minutes and get 50 points (if you get through)! Wooooooooow! (If you can't read sarcasm I am sorry so let me put it this way: Galatea is a waste of money. To authors who use it: just publish you flipping book. I would buy your book as I do with so many others so why are you making your readers go through this ordeal? It not even an anime chapter book where you actually see characters interact with each other! It's just sounds added! You want sounds? Just play some music and support people. I read books on Wattpad and Webtoon because people are making the effort to write stories about subjects I love. And if they take it down and make into a REAL BOOK I can purchase? Then hell yeah! I am happy for them AND I will but it any other book that comes out next! Except Galatea, they are only after your money. Plain and simple.)

The arrangement: Okay I barely read the story (1 week in so maybe 6-7 chapters?) and I'm already frustrated with both main characters and even her (crappy) friend. Xavier, the "husband" is the literal definition of an ass. Xavier is just a overly used name for books. Its the stereotypical asshole but rich and dark and y kind of name. And I hate it. Why couldn't his name be Brad Junior? I think it would better suit him.... Actually, anytime I refer to him it will be Brad Junior. Brad Junior shaggs anyone who has a pair of legs and tits. He is too busy making Angela miserable like the twat that he is to notice that -helllllo?- she is too plain to want the money for just herself. Clearly there is intention but instead of finding out or bothering, let's make her life a living hell. Brad Junior style.

Brad is using Angela when honestly she is being used to undergo rich hell life. You think I care you are trying to make a better person out of your son with another strange woman? He screws them almost every night so how does she make the difference? Oh right she is innocent and good blah blah blah. Wouldn't that mean she is just easy to MANIPULATE? Get over yourself. Your wife did not give you a sign, and if she was going to, I would hope she was telling you that she is ready to beat her child to a pulp for mistreating people like he does. You may say that, that is the way of life with money? And I say that you can have money and have the decency to treat people the way you want to be treated. No excuse. So potato patato. Also, who freaking takes it as a sign from some random strange girl as the one that has to marry your son? She is just some rando in NY! If you had come up to me while my dad was going through what hers was going through, I would have told you to screw off. Why? It is non of your business what is happening to my family. In fact, that goes against Medical Privacy Laws? Sound familiar? Yeah I wouldn't need to marry your son at that point, I can just sue you for the money you were going to give me for my dad instead of going through hell to marry your son. (of course I would be screwed since he would obviously have the better lawyer but there is something called settling.... Pay for the hospital expenses for a couple of years seems reasonable.)

Angela.... what are you doing? Don't you have some kind of voice? Or I dont know, have the strength to say something to the father that dotes on his son. Probs wont work but it would have been SOMETHING. And if that didnt work, I dont know make an compromise and say hey "I dont want to be treated this way anymore. I can work at your business with something to do with my career and start me with a bonus because you son treated me like garbage and it will help with my dads tests and medical. No? Too easy? Typical. Angela would have been better off pretending that she is mute than to just go along with everything and then SOMETIMES have a voice when it is convenient. Also her friend pisses me off. She got money so what? She is still your friend and you are being are horrible person to just pull the rug from underneath her. Yes she doesn't know what is going on but they have been friends for how many years? I guess there was not friendship to begin with if it was that flimsy.

To conclude: I don't want a happy ending for these two, they don't need to be anywhere near each other and she needs a good ol' nice boy. You know the ones who make minimum wage or have photography hobby or loves football or something. Brad Junior is nothing but a child throwing temper tantrums and shoving his stick into any hole he can find. Brad is has his head stuck in the clouds and thinks he feels his dead wife during crucial moments. Angela is a wannabe mute and is "too nice" to stand up for herself and her friend can suck donkey balls. The only good character is her dad and he has been in hospital bed this entire time AND he has maybe 1 or 2 lines in the book so far...

And no, I do not plan on finishing the book. A book this bad and an app that is even worse is more than enough to convince me to put my time and money somewhere else, like OH! a book that has all the chapters and is available for me to purchase and read? How can I resist! G

Galatea, you have been deleted.

Don't waste your time or your Galatea points. Seriously. Just don't.

*all the spoilers ahead*

Every character in this book is an idiot and selfish.

Xavier is a ginormous asshole. And just so disgusting. I get he didn't want to be married, but he screws every woman he encounters and flaunts it. He's cruel. And just so gross.

Then there's Angela. She keeps harping on about how she's not a gold digger, but she married Xavier to pay her father's medical bill's (aka marrying for money). Sure, it's noble, but it still is for money. And she's pathetic. Supposed to be innocent and good-hearted, but comes off as an idiot instead when she gets repeatedly duped. Oh and her father, supposedly cured of ASL and recovers from his strokes and heart attack.

The side characters are equally selfish and horrid. Angela's friend Em, horrid. Angela's friend, Dustin, horrid. They both backstab her or lie or act like shitty friends multiple times.
Angela's family is dumb when they trust paparazzi photos and clickbait news sites instead of asking their daughter. Brad had nice intentions, but ultimately was so manipulative.

Eventually Xavier and Angela seem to work it all out, though he was so gross I just cannot imagine why she wanted to be with him. But then, of course, more drama. He loses his position because he's a huge asshole and becomes a drunk who does nothing but drink. Angela becomes a bitch to her family and Zoe (her new assistant in event planning). She keeps her pregnancy a secret for 3 months, and doesn't even get a check up until she's a month along though she suspected it when it first happened (as written by the author saying she was going to show Xavier a positive pregnancy test, didn't, and a month later is at a prenatal doctor's appointment to "confirm" the pregnancy.)
Once Xavier finds out he gets understandably pissed. And Angela throws out an ultimatum. So, of course, Xavier spirals and ends up staying in Tokyo for a month before he gets into a car accident and is sent back to NY. Where they repair their crummy relationship. Oh and Angela's creepy ass obgyn hits on her and offers to attend Lamaze classes with her and she's just like, ok no big deal, let's do it. Because your obgyn usually takes that much interest in your care.

There were so many plot holes, so many stupid, idiotic moments and choices. It was so bad. But I had been opening new chapters without reading up until almost book 4, and once I started reading, it became apparent I wasted all of my time. So I just read everything up to book 5. And at this point I will not be waiting to release more chapters, especially since the 6th book isn't even all released yet. I can't believe the author is still writing this shitty story.

Book 5 ends with them having twins, son Ace, and daughter Amelia. I think that's a great place to just stop the madness and stupidity. Xavier was offered his CEO job back (another manipulation by his deceased father) but declined in favor for starting his own whiskey company. Great, let's just end this shitty book here.

Average angela married spoiled brat son of successful business owner to afford medication for her rapidly quickly suffering father. believing this is her best solution she marries the brat and then spends her day trying to make friends with randos (cause she has no friends) and watch her husband the fuckboy bring in different women every night to feed his sex addiction, and emotional problems from a ex that could be greatly helped with therapy.

So anyway angelas only goal in life is to save her dad, but she sees him like once a month? when shes loves him so much and he's DYING and alone cause her brothers are to busy running the family restaurant which is somehow more important than the dying father.

The writing is god awful, the characters unlikable and story pace is slow as hell. DNF

I want to punch so many characters in the face. Most of them. All of them but Dustin, really.

Angela, the female main character, is way too “damsel in distress” for me.
Xavier is a total arse. He is a scumbag and as cruel as can be.
Em is a total buttface of a friend. No one should hate of their long-term bff like that and just bail on them without explanation.
The others have their moments.

There’s too much drama. It ends hastily. And I’m just annoyed.

Honestly it was a good ready. I wanted to keep going but I had already spent 30 dollars to keep going. I can't imagine spending more money to keep ready though and only reading one short short "chapter" per day is just nonsense to me. Tell really pull you in so you will keep spending your money.

Honestly, it wasn't extremely well written. Many chapters seemed to end mid-scene, I thought that it would pick up in the next chapter but the story would move onto something else. Angela completely sucks as a character, she let's a narcissistic ass treat her like complete shit before his personality pulls a 180 and suddenly he's in love with Angela. I'm still reading the 2nd book now but I don't see myself finishing this series.

Also, the author really likes to have Angela cornered, harassed and stalked by some dude who's weirdly obsessed with her. It's happened twice (would not be surprised if this popped up again in the other books). Its just really repetitive and adds nothing to the story or plot whatsoever. I think that if the author wanted this plot line in the story, Angela's old boss shouldn't have been included if Jacques was going to be included later on.

Oh…where do I start. One good thing is that the story is not a cliche, so it was refreshing first 30-60 charters out of 120 (it was audiobook), but then the main heroine is just sooo extremely naive, for someone who lives in New York seems like she was raised in closed village and had no idea that people can have sex (yes, she is 23 year old virgin who cannot say cock, sex etc. out loud), also she was extremely suspicions, fast on judgement, ungrateful and stupid. By the first intimate main hero got infected by heroine’s depression and stupidity, he lost his grip, wit and power. So I dropped the book even before their fist intimate scene, looks like sex itself would be somewhere close to the end of the book. I couldn’t continue listening to this torture, feels like I got grey hair already listening to it, never ending tasteless gum.
Please read it if you want to have your own feeling and opinion.
P.S. this is my 3rd book i couldn’t finish out of 1000.

This is not a good book. I am really having a difficult time trying to define why I even read this. Everyone is pretty terrible. The naive main character is just too nice for her own good. Everyone takes advantage of her and she thinks she is helping others, but is really just digging herself into more of a hole. This story is comprised of 5 books with over 20+ chapters. The rollercoaster of the author trying to come up with these characters to have an exciting story take you from a weird old man talking to his dead wife in a park then a marriage to a hateful slutty asshole, then a plane crash to a love story to death and company drama... all things that are not written well and it's just not very interesting. Have fun.

This is a 1.5 star book at best. It took me AGES to get through it. I have a hard time even justifying why I read the whole thing except that I’m in my soul not someone who can DNF. I hated this book (which was like 6 novellas shoved together) the platform it was on, and the characters in it. Dozens of plot holes, zero character development, lots of spelling and punctuational errors, not one single character I actually liked, and the book straight up ended in the middle of a random scene. Perhaps my self-sacrifice of forcing myself through this book can be used for good- save yourself the trouble and don’t read it.

Half a star is what this is. No star even, but that would do nothing for the rating?

Xavier Knight is an asshole - established within 4 chapters and then repeated indefinitely. Just in case you did not get it.

Brad Knight is crap at understanding other people, especially his own son, so how on earth did he become a billionaire?!?!

Angela is annoying. Starts off annoying and just does not stop.

This book is intriguing me but the costs for this Galatea app are too high. Kindle unlimited is $9.99 for an entire month, unlimited books. This you get 1 chapter free a day and then you have to buy credits and that is per chapter and these chapters are on the small side. I will be deleting this app, it will be way to frustrating reading 1 chapter per day.

If I could give this trash 0 stars, I would. The person who wrote this clearly hates women, and it shows in the characters and their actions. I could repeat what other reviewers have said on here, but what would be the point? I rarely say this about a book, but don’t waste your time with this pile of garbage.

This "book" is awful. If I could give it 0 I would. The ML is uncomfortably abusive. The whole story line is really bad. Going from an attempted sexual assault, to a plane crash, to the FL fishing with a stick while nearly naked, to "omg I almost died that island we were trapped on for half a day", to amnesia, to a dance competition, in like 5 chapters. What even is this?

I found a free audiobook version I was listening to while doing chores or driving. I DNF but got most of the way through it.
1) poorly written
2) the multiple POVs really didn’t work
3) this is one of the most toxic and abusive relationships I’ve ever read about
4) I hated the MMC and seriously disliked the FMC
5) literally nothing happened. It was the same thing over and over until I was bored to death
