When my dad married her mom she was supposed to be no more than my new little sister, the daughter my dad always wanted. But things don't always go as planned. I didn't set out to fall for her, I was too busy enjoying my senior year of high school amd being the star quaterback and all that entails to want to settle for anyone. But those big woeful eyes and that soft unassuming way of hers soon got under my skin.
It was the rumors that started it. Until news of his prowess reached my ears he was just the new stepbrother life had saddled me with. We got along fine at first as we settled into our new family dynamic. But it wasn't long before I started wondering if the rumors were true and found myself dying to find out for myself. His resistance only made me want him even more.
This book was good until it became so boring in the second half. Tyler is the usual alpha playboy Jordan Silver likes to write about and Lora is a stupid brainless and clueless and spineless heroine that didn`t give anything to the story except being so stupidly in love with Tyler, her step-brother.
Then i am here thinking...i would probably have liked this book in the past.
2.5 Step-sibling lovin’ ⭐'s I was introduced to this couple in their parent’s book (Men of Honor: Eric), I wasn’t going to track it down, but the teased potential OW drama tempted me. I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this… It’s standard JS. Tyler is the typical OTT, super-resourceful, overprotective caveman… and Lora is the standard meek, somewhat-stupid, damsel h.
This is technically a forbidden relationship because they’re stepsiblings, but that is never really an issue. It also isn’t a bully scenario. They have very little to no “couple obstacles” to overcome. So, if you’re looking for that type of drama… it isn’t here.
Bottom Line- It started out pretty good, but sort of fizzled in the middle with not much going on other than the sex. The ending picks up with some cheese and OTT drama-llama. The mc’s are in HS, but they don’t act like it and have access/options no 17/18 would have… and very unrealistic. For example, Classic JS, free to read on KU. Short epilogue 10-ish years later.
Loved it! Completely over the top step brother romance. If you like manipulative heroes who have no line they won't cross for their girl, than this is the book for you! Slowed down a bit at the end, but definitely a worthwhile read!
"Forbidden Desire" is the story of Lora and Tyler.
A forbidden stepsibling romance with a smitten heroine and a playboy hero. She falls madly for him, while he remains sort of oblivious.. until he's not and they copulate like bunnies. There is some drama by OW/OM and ex parents, and that is what made the second half boring for me. Very sweet epilogue though.
Like usual, JS loved to start of her books with these most outrageous lines (that I sincerely excited about)... and somehow ended the damn thing with the most boring plotlines ever. I don't want to hear about the revenge stuffs. I wish she could pull the limelight to the relationship issue with the MCs. We could have something good and smutty here, Jordan!
It’s been a long time since I last read a Jordan silver book and after reading this one, I was reminded why.
1. Writing style—it’s mostly telling, instead of showing. It’s disjointed and doesn’t flow well together. She doesn’t know how to use proper punctuation, or how to reflect when a character is having a thought vs POV. She switches tenses mid-paragraph. She will use the same word, usually the word “$h!t” over and over, oftentimes within the same paragraph. FFS, find a mothertrucking SYNONYM!!! Paragraphs and pages and pages of mind-numbing exposition And it’s annoying, endlessly repetitive. In short, she desperately needs an editor. So there’s that.
2. All of the above leads to an annoying reading experience where I end up skimming huge sections.
3. A manskank zero, where it’s somehow considered sexy that he’s a mindless dog that nails everything in sight—and the heroine has to face his used cum dumps. I do love a virgin hero ESPECIALLY if they’re both young, but it’s not a requirement. I can understand the yin and yang appeal of experience juxtaposed against innocence. What I don’t care for is endlessly bragging about his S.T.D-trap past. It’s gross and disgusting and totally unnecessary. It doesn’t make him a bigger man. His inability to control himself just makes him weak and willing to jump into trash with no sense of discernment or concern for intimacy. It just makes him skeezy and slimy and disgusting.
4. After wading thru all the excrement above, the plot of this book would’ve been soooooo much better without the stupid subplot of the villainous schemer trying to separate the two lovers, at least as far as it went. It was ridiculous and implausible and did absolutely nothing for the story. It just made it really silly. If the author wanted to highlight the overprotective possessiveness of the hero, she should’ve just stuck to the subplot of the loser guy trying to roofie the heroine and the hero’s takedown of him.
5. The story between the two MCs, outside the grossness of the hero sliming around with any trailer trash femskank he can stick his junk into, was actually sweet and romantic and it had some tender moments. Unfortunately it was overshadowed by an imbecilic subplot with a cartoonish villain and prose that dragged horribly along, clanking loud and ugly with its terrible grammar, choppiness and boring exposition of endless “telling” instead of “showing.”
Hero’s past is mentioned ad nauseum, to the point I was nauseated. Heroine was a virgin. There were a few scenes with condom use—not sexy. No abuse, other than the abuse of the written language. lots of other women, as the heroine has to go to school and face all the skank whores who the hero has slimed around with. Theres barely an OM drama, only a couple scenes where the heroine flirts with OM to make the hero jealous, she has no interest in OM, it’s just a ruse to poke at the hero. There’s an HEA with an epilogue 10 years out.
This is a step-b/s romance. It's got a lot of editing issues, but most taboo books do. The story was way too long for me and the "drama" they faced was off the walls. If it had been kept shorter and more focused, I would have enjoyed it more.
You have to love Jordan Silver’s OTT heroes❤️ They are jealous, extremely possessive, and take revenge to a whole new level. Add in the fact that they are 18, in high school and tend to have very large appendages? .....well it becomes a hot erotic mess. You don’t just get a mean girl, you get the twisted girl. You don’t just get a little revenge, you get the ultimate”You’re going to suffer the rest of your life” revenge.
Cons: I would have liked to see Sherry’s reaction to the revenge plot. I feel like it was talked about but we did not really get the scene. I would have liked more interactions between her and the heroine. She actually didn’t get a chance to do much to the heroine before the H went all alpha. Also would have liked to see the heroine interact with more outside characters. Did she even have any friends? If she did, we never saw them have a genuine interaction.
Once again Ms. Jordan Silver delivers a fun read. Love the story, the characters. This is the book for you if you are looking to escape to another world. Tyler reminded me so much of Talon and Josh, her typical OTT caveman alphas.
This was a great taboo story. I’m not one to care one bit about step sibling romance being a huge deal (especially when they are already in their late teens/adults when the parents meet and marry) and usually spend a lot of time while reading those popping pain pills for the headache I give myself from rolling my eyes so much. In this one, we are, of course, led down the path of the taboo BUT I was relieved that it wasn’t a constant refrain of “we CAN’T we’re SIBLINGS”. No, in this one it was more of not wanting to hurt the parents, not wanting to rock the boat so to speak, and having the fun of sneaking around. My favorite part, of course, is the villain and the additional drama that just adds to the story overall. So glad there is a new story by Jordan Silver and it was definitely worth the wait.
As always Jordan delivers some greatness!! If you loved Eden High you will Love Tyler and Lora. She gave us another Alpha man child who does whatever it takes to protect and take care of his woman. He is definitely up there with Jace, Track, and the other boys. Working behind the scene to take out the evil that has focused on Lora and their home town. Oh and let's not forget how, Jordan also delivers the girls that we love to hate, she went to a whole knew level when she gave us Sherry. At first we thought she just wanted Tyler, then she went on a whole new level. If Tyler hadn't gotten her, I'm sure she would have ended up on the Squads list. Another great read from Jordan with some amazing characters that we can only hope that we see again soon. Loved it!!!
Why did it started that way? It’s not bad but if you’re going to redact me specific details of something that happened not too long ago, you better write that from the start or just put it as flashbacks. There were throwbacks in the throwback so that made the writing messy to read. Anyways the plot was good but it wasn’t developed nicely so it got boring once everyone knew they were together. The epilogue was good tho.
This is a story about two characters a step-brother ,and his step-sister, the are not blood related, her mother married his father and his father married her mother. They is a taboo of a possessive, protective male. This story is passionate and sexy, with a twist inside.
Summary: Forbidden Desire is about Tyler and Lora who are close step siblings. They met a year ago as their parents remarried but as the time passes their affections for one another grew more than they had hoped for. One day, Ty’s childhood friend suddenly came back to town and the itching feeling in Lora’s heart about his record with girls just combusted. They both tried to push away but only ended up pulling towards one another. And when they do, it is the others outside of their relationship who start to do the pulling. TW:

I struggled so much with this one. I love JS’ works on stepsiblings and was happy to have found a lengthy one compared to the other novellas but sad to read along that it wasn’t the main focus of the story, not even their relationship. Although the struggles they first faced when coming into terms of their relationship was a breather and wasn’t something usually given a thought to in this trope.
Ngnl in the first quarter the heroine was was just TSTL. I hoped for more heroine povs in her previous works but this one disappointed me as well when the wish was granted but only to leave annoyance and second hand embarrassment. She was like a 12 years old to be honest. But meh.
Had to skim so much as chapters and chapters were dedicated to the ‘revenge’. Would’ve been okay if there was actual doing but most of it was on how, why, and what it was. It got too repetitive that I just couldn’t. The villain concept was cool though. I liked it but like I said too much focus on it.
I honestly almost dnf this and I wish I did. But this was JS’ work and reviews said how cute the two were in their moments and I pushed through to confirm that. Although they were cute there still weren’t much scenes of them as much as I’d hope for.
Tyler was happy for his dad, Eric when he got married to Justine and with Justine came a new step-sister for Tyler by the name of Lora. Lora was just a little bit younger than Tyler and for the first year the got along great. Then Lora started hearing all the rumors about how great Tyler was in bed, that he slept with a lot of girls and he never slept with the same girl twice. At first Lora couldn't figure out why this information bothered her so much, it bugged her so bad she started treating Tyler differently. Tyler didn't know why Lora had become so hostile towards him. I mean he was sure she didn't know how he wanted to be with her, so he was really upset that she was ignoring him and then started talking to more guys. This was his he finally figured out she wanted him as bad as he wanted her, but it was wrong and he wasn't planning on giving in. This is another great read from Jordan Silver, I truly enjoy her writing style and look forward to reading more of her books.
I read after the novella about Justine and Eric that introduced Lora and Tyler. I wish they had been more closely related. The backstory in this one does match up closely enough for the backstory in the novella and I found that annoying.
Besides that - I enjoyed the story and the characters.
My secondary beef: “Why not use her to broach a subject that wasn’t exactly easy for me. Dad has his new daughter now sure, but that wasn’t the only reason he’d wanted to adopt Lora. It wasn’t just about having a daughter to add to the son he already had, but his way of making her part of the family, as connected as the rest of us. Now he doesn’t have to worry about her feeling left out.”
Tyler is the son of Eric Lora is the daughter of Justine.
Justine and Eric are married. Justine and Eric have baby.
They keep acting like Lora is the odd one out and I don’t get it. Tyler is JUST AS MUCH CONNECTED… what am I missing???

This is one of the best stepbrother romances ever! It has the vindictiveness of ‘Heathers’ and the tenderness of a Disney film. Superb plot. No cheating. Minimal angst. Maximum heat.
I thought this was going to be another variation on the popular step sibling love story trope. A three star quickie read. Screw that assumption. I was so wrong! Five stars hardly does it justice. Given how many stepbrother romances I have read, it’s not easy to write something that stands out. ‘Forbidden Desire’ stands out. It jumps. It waves. It steams. It smokes like a signal fire.
I loved it and cannot wait to read more by Jordan Silver.
A high school, step sibling romance for the ages! Tyler and Lora meet because their parents fell in love and got married. Although it is not love at first sight for the teenagers, Lora quickly realizes that Tyler is the one for her. In typical teenage girl fashion, she goes about getting him - while stirring up a lot of drama in the process. Tyler brings his own drama to the relationship, but love prevails. As usual with a Jordan Silver story, the epilogue is one of my favorite parts. I'm a sucker for a happy ending!!!
2.5-2.75🌟This book lost stars because of all the grammatical and punctuation errors. She definitely needs to hire an editor. In terms of the story, I found the FMC to be an underdeveloped character that was frankly kind of stupid. I actually liked the MMC the first 1/2-2/3rds of the book, but then he seemed to go through a personality adjustment that left him sort of meh…I didn’t care for the side plot with the chick from his past. It seemed to kind of come out of nowhere and then we were heavily invested in it…
I love this book. I did not know that was part of a series. So I'm going to have to backtrack and read the books before but I really did like this book. I raved about it on Facebook. Like obsessively. Even in the author's fan group. I went a little crazy. Just a little. LOL yeah maybe a lot. Great book, I'm going to check the others... Oh and I also put a review on Flickr LOL you can see it here, if you would like... https://flic.kr/p/2jE8U39
If you loved Jordan Silver's old books like Passion book 1 and 2, Talon's Heart and Dangerously in Love you will love Forbidden Desire. I love high school drama and super possessive guys that are so focused on their girl that they will do whatever needs to be done to protect what is his. Fantastic read!
Story: 3/5 stars Heat level: 4/5 stars POV: first person Heroine: Lora Hero: Tyler Stevens Secondary characters: Eric, Tyler’s Dad Justine, Lora’s mother Paul, Tyler’s friend Sherry, wants Tyler FYI: Wharton Business School is in Philadelphia, PA, a picturesque town of 1.5 million people.
It started good but then it drags on and on and i got really bored with them to the point i start skipping. That revenge stuff was really not interesting . There is not enough chemistry and smut for my liking. To much about his past experiences and OW before her. Him thinking his daughter is a ''pig, piglet'' while nursing from the h was my last nail in the coffin.
It was good at first. I loved Jordan Silver's other books, but not this one. The story was great, but I got tires of reading "this shit", "their shit", "the shit". There were a lot of them in one chapter and page, and Tyler even called his kid that word when he went to her because she was crying while he and Lora were having sex. I didn't finish it. Got tired of reading too many shits.
I can't get over this well written book. I read it ages ago. Hunted it down again on Amazon to read it again. You won't be disappointed. Don't want to give it away in the comments just read the bloody book! This is the kind of love story I needed to cheer me up and it's my go to book to make me smile. Girl you killing it.
Very well written. The FMC and MMC are very well developed. I loved how the fell for each other and how the whole “step siblings” were walked out of the taboo. It’s a story of love, protection and care. I really like OTT, possessive MMC and Tyler is definitely one of them.
