Wicked Billionaire

7 hours and 39 minutes.

As the prince of a luxury hotel empire, I am as close to American royalty as one can get. I grew up accustomed to a certain lifestyle. One where people give me what I desire and anything, or anyone, else can be bought. Everyone wants a piece of me, yet no one is actually deserving of my time.

That changes when Bailey Robbins, the smoking hot housekeeper in one of my hotels, catches my attention. Sure, she has curves for days but it’s her smart mouth I can’t help but be intrigued by. I may have avoided relationships all my life, but something about her makes me want to introduce her to my world.

The darker, wicked side of Declan Blackwood.

4 Seeing The Difference Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free-Limited Time, ONLY 99 CENTS!!!
Sawyer Bennett has created a series that is obviously sexy yet always delivers heart. In this entry, we have two people who would seem very different in life. Money and career are just a couple of things, to begin with, however, as we learn of these people we learn of the real differences they have.

Bailey Robbins is in recovery mode.
She was married to a man who hid who he really was. Once Bailey discovered his secret, divorce and all the splitting of assets took place. Unfortunately, that meant she had to pay half of all HIS DEBTS. Yup, he ran up the credit card debt through the roof buying stuff for his secret love.

Baily also has the responsibility of taking care of her parents. Both are too young to be disabled. They are only in their late forties/fifties but due to the type of work they did to provide for Bailey, the mother needs an oxygen tank to breathe and her dad damaged his back. The most important thing about this responsibility is that Bailey has no negative feelings about her caring for them. In fact, she feels a type of honor in being able to be there for them as they were for her.

So this means, Bailey currently is juggling 3 jobs and the latest one she just took on is being a housekeeper for the Blackwood Resorts. It is The Luxury Hotel in Vegas and she was lucky to get the schedule needed to work with all the other gigs she is doing. When she graduated with her business degree, this was not how she saw things happening.

Declan Blackwood is the Heir Apparent to being the head of the Blackwood Empire. He has worked his entire life towards this. He came from the Blackwood dynasty and as the son, it was expected for him to devote himself to the company. Declan has. Every moment, his passion has been developing and bringing to life each new location of Blackwood all over the world.

Because that was the only positive focus he saw through his parent's eyes. Yes, they were uber-rich and he wanted financially for nothing but as to parental love, hugs, caring moments from either his mother or father, those moments never happened.

Declan did have one person who loved him and showed it. Lennie was his nanny for many years. She had been a part of the Blackwood family for years and Declan to this day felt closer to her than anyone. He made sure she was in his life, moving her all around the world, keeping her close.

So Declan Blackwood wasn't heartless...But it was an emotion locked away. Instead, he did his work perfectly and expected others to do theirs just as well...if not, they were fired. He worked hard, played harder, and found the Wicked Horse in Vegas the perfect outlet for all the stress his life had. There he could be free to enjoy, give pleasure, receive it without any strings. It worked for him and he found like-minded people there.

These two opposites meet under circumstances, not the norm. Declan, rich, bossy, and out of touch with the working person is in his suite. He has just told a bad hook-up to leave and she wasn't too happy about it. In his head, he is thinking this is why I should have gone to the Wicked Horse.

As the woman is leaving the suite, Bailey comes in with her cart to do the regular service for the rooms. She knows who Delan is and has done the suite before. She says once again, Good Morning and he says nothing. What a jerk. He can't even say hello. Whatever, Bailey doesn't care, she has other things on her mind.

As she works to clean up the kitchen Declan is remembering her to the extreme. He knows exactly who she is, she caught his eye when she was hired. The thoughts he is thinking would give his Human Resources department shivers.

Declan's phone rings and the next moment and conversation will change both of these people's lives forever.

This story had the usual experience at Wicked Horse, sexy times for the adventurous but also had a deeper focus on what is truly important in people's lives. Now due to Declan's extreme wealth and the way he was raised, he did not have the same issues and learning experiences someone like Bailey had. He was raised to think you could throw money at anything and that would get you whatever you wanted. When Bailey shows him her family devotion and how she wants to assist them even though it is hard for her, it starts to open his eyes to more.

Bailey was someone who doubted her personal trust in judgment with men due to her marriage/divorce. It made her question things. It did not, however, make her doubt her business ability. In that, she felt solid and that was a huge plus in the story. She would say no to Declan and that was something positive in the story.

This entry fell in line with all of the others in the series, maybe not as intense or with any big plot moments but overall an enjoyable addition.

This series brings all the steam and Wicked Billionaire was no different. I loved the intense chemistry between Bailey and Declan, especially when Declan was trying so hard to stay away from her since she was his employee. All that tension was amazing and it had me dying to see what happened when it was finally too much for either of them to ignore. And it was so worth the wait!

As much as I loved their sexual tension and connection though, I actually think I liked the relationship parts even more. The ending few chapters where Bailey and Declan were in an almost normal relationship was super fun to read about and that was where I was smiling along with them the most. It showed the most changes in Declan and it was clear that he really did care about Bailey and it was the sweetest. Overall, this story is a big thumbs up from me and I definitely recommend it.

Whenever I pick up a Wicked Horse book by Sawyer Bennett, I know that I'm in for a very sexy ride. Wicked Billionaire definitely delivers and there's a scene in this one that may cause your reading device to go up in flames (wink wink - the deck - wink wink). Readers met sexy billionaire Declan Blackwood in Wicked Secret, but if you're not familiar with the series, this one can definitely be read as a standalone.

Wicked Billionaire is a forbidden office (boss/employee) romance with a pinch of hate to love too. Bailey and Declan come from very different backgrounds, but I really liked how they challenged each other. Declan was a bit too cold and abrasive for me, but the glimpses of tenderness with his former nanny were very sweet. I think what stopped me from loving him, was that I felt his behavior really pushed/crossed the line of sexual harassment. I know part of that was a defense mechanism, but the employment decision he made after his initial agreement with Bailey just didn't sit right with me. The drama towards the end was a bit predictable, but I did enjoy seeing them slowly open up and stand by each other. Wicked Billionaire wasn't my favorite installment of the series, but I've really enjoyed my time at The Wicked Horse Vegas. It's definitely bittersweet to say good bye to this series.

I can’t believe this is the last book in this series….I’m a little sad but it does end on a good one. I loved Declan in the last book so I was excited about this one. At the beginning I was a little concerned because I thought maybe I was fooled in the other one since he sort of seemed like a jerk in this one.

Declan Blackwood is pretty much American royalty along with being a very good-looking guy. Because of his extreme wealth he doesn’t do any kind of relationships. He feels as if every woman only wants him for his money…..well that and he is EXCELLENT in bed. He prides himself on keeping the Blackwood legacy going by all his hard work and dedication to their luxury hotels and resorts. Declan is a long time member at the Wicked Horse and he indulges in all the activities that the club offers, frequently.

After firing his incompetent assistant for dropping the ball for an upcoming gala he is hosting, he needs to not only find a solution to the problem he also needs a new assistant.

Even though Bailey is trying to move around Declan’s suite as invisible as possible, while doing her housekeeping duties, she can’t help but blurt out a possible solution to his problem. The independent sassy woman who holds down 3 jobs in order to take care of her parents and help pay off her exes debt doesn’t want anything to do with the handsome billionaire. Unfortunately or maybe it’s fortunate, he offers her enough money to work for him that she will now just have the one job. I loved that Bailey wasn’t intimidated by him

This couple has great banter and their chemistry is HAWT! This couple was a great way to end the series.

Darn! This was a wickedly hot, fun and swoony read! LOVED it! Couldn't put it down!
“You fascinate me Miss Robbins.”

Hero: A sexy alpha who first comes off as a douche canoe, but he has many more layers that will make you fall in love with him. Declan Blackwood is a billionaire, heir to a hotel empire who doesn’t have time to relationships and really isn’t interested in having one. But having a personal assistant with a good head on her shoulders is paramount.
I may have avoided relationships all my life, but something about her makes me want to introduce her to my world. The darker, wicked side of Declan Blackwood.

Heroine: After her divorce, Bailey Robbins ended up with so much debt that she needed to hold down three jobs including one as a maid at Declan’s hotel. When she speaks up at a crucial moment, Declan realizes she’s a lot more than a pretty face. She’s sassy, spirited and strong. She’s a total surprise to him, but at his personal assistant they can’t cross the professional line. Or can they?

Sexiness: Declan and Bailey try to separate business from pleasure by keeping their sexy times limited to the Wicked Horse. Simple, right? It’s amazing how Sawyer Bennett finds new ways to create the most enticingly sexy scenes. Wicked Billionaire is no exception and it was incredibly hot.

Plot: A truly enjoyable spin on Pretty Woman.
“You used to call me Miss Robbins to put distance between us. Remind me of my place. But now it’s just kind of sexy when you do it.”

Feels: The sizzling hotness was a no brainer, but they also developed trust, had sweet and fun times and absolutely great banter.

Facts: Wicked Billionaire is book #8 of the Wicked Horse Vegas series by Sawyer Bennett. It is told from both points of view with a happy ending.

Overall rating: 5

A billionaire hotel owner and a housekeeper were the main characters in this very steamy romantic story.
While their backgrounds were completely opposite, they shared a spectacular chemistry and passion.
Their relationship was evolved progressively as well as their characters’ development.
I liked it but was not thrilled.

Declan. We already heard about him a bit in the last book. He's a billionaire hotel heir and he's very busy running his family's hotel empire. That's why he doesn't have time for girlfriends or anything serious. He enjoys one-time encounters at the Wicked Horse.

Enter Bailey. She's a maid for his Vegas Hotel and Declan is super intrigued. Bailey is different. She doesn't want his money and she says what she means. That's why he hires her as his personal assistant after firing his current one.

Bailey really needs the money - she has three jobs to pay for her ex husband's debt and to take care of her ailing parents.

That was a great final book in the Vegas series.

I loved reading it. It was verrry erotic and fun and billionaire-y.

A bit Pretty Woman Cinderella-ish. Really adorable and sweet. I enjoyed it!

WICKED BILLIONAIRE was a very erotic & Cinderella-ish Vegas Love Story! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Declan - this one is MINE!!

Declan and Bailey were 🔥. I don’t know what it was about this one but everything worked for me. I didn’t mind Declan’s arrogance because I liked how Bailey stood up to him and kept him off kilter. I liked how being around Bailey showed Declan a whole new world. I also felt sorry for the upbringing that Declan had (ice cold parents) but loved the relationship he still had with his childhood nanny. I loved how Bailey and Declan went from a sex only relationship to a full fledged emotional one. And those sex scenes were pretty hot…
My only complaint? This book was too short. I could’ve read at least 50 more pages. There’s so much more I’d like to know about this couple…I’d like to see where they were after a few years. I wish they’d pop up in another book or either another series. Oh well, I’m glad this series ended on a high note.

Declan Blackwood is a gorgeous, rich playboy bachelor whose family is practically American royalty. They own luxury hotels and resorts, and his name is worth billions. As an heir to the Blackwood fortune, he takes his job and his legacy seriously. He works hard, but he also plays hard. He doesn't date or have time for relationships, and prefers no strings encounters at The Wicked Horse Vegas where he can indulge his every desire.

0609A9C7_DEB1_4C81_A521_C56E406DAC82

Declan is used to getting what he wants, and is a busy man with a strict schedule. When he's suddenly in need of a new assistant he decides he wants to promote a new housekeeper he recently hired. She intrigues him and has caught his attention, but in his time of need it's her sharp wit and intelligence that make him decide he must have her as his personal assistant. She's not intimidated by him, and challenges him at every turn. Soon he's fascinated with her, and wants her, but knows he can't mix business with pleasure. That doesn't stop him from fantasizing about his employee. As their attraction sizzles she proves to be a temptation he can no longer resist. They know crossing that line is a bad idea, but do it anyway. As he introduces her to his world she experiences her every secret desire. Can they keep their personal and professional lives separate, or will they decide they want more?

Got to luv a hot billionaire.

I was looking forward to this book after meeting Declan in the last night book Wicked Secret. He is smoking hot with the rule of not getting attached. He likes his life working hard and playing harder. Life is pretty for him he has everything he needs and wants. Until Bailey comes into his life. She ends up being something that he likes and wants a lot of.

Bailey is brilliant I really like her. She hasn't had it easy and works her backside off she never complains about it just get on with it. Even with a cheat ex husband and parents that need help she doesn't let it get to her she just takes life day for day. Seeing Delcan Blackwood he isn't the typical guy she would normally go for. He luvs himself and is a player something she doesn't need. But when she gives him help with a gala that needed to be sort she found herself in a much better situation. Declan Blackwood might not be the man she thought he was.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. The story flowed well and Bailey and Declan were smoking hot together. But that's what you want when you hear the wicked horse series. It was great to see Declan changed throughout this book. He turned into this really caring guy and Bailey made him see life different. They both came from different backgrounds but by the end you wouldn't thing it. I really enjoy this series there so easy to read and the characters are great there so worth the read.

Love, love, love, love, love…

A bit of Cinderella and a lot of Prince Charming, Bailey and Declan’s courtship was a fun, steam-filled romance!

What surprised me was, for all the intensity of the scenes at the Wicked Horse (and they were flaming), I loved even more the slow relationship buildup between Bailey and Declan. Bailey was in an entirely different tax bracket and, given her circumstances, could have been someone who caved just to keep her new job. But she wasn’t. Far from it. She knew her own worth and expected Declan to see that as well. And he did. One surprise at a time… Their conversations ranged from flirty to pain-filled revelatory and each one opened themselves to the other. They desired each other but the respect and yearning for friendship, for unconditional love and support, seemed even deeper…

There was drama of course, and a surprise twist at the end that pushed everyone to bring their honesty and feelings to the table. Put it all together and, hands down, this was one of my all-time favourite reads from this author. ~Diane, 5 Dicklan Stars

Wicked Billionaire was the ninth book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series by Sawyer Bennett. Although the entire series was enjoyable, it can be read as a stand-alone.

Declan Blackwood was filthy rich. The elite of the elite. He was the heir to the Blackwood Luxury Hotel empire and it was his life. He was arrogant, selfish, intelligent, gorgeous and used to getting his way, every time, in everything.

Bailey Robbins was the exact opposite. She was raised in a loving, blue collar family that understood the value of relationships, respect and love. She was feisty, intelligent and held down three jobs; one of which was a housekeeper at the Blackwood Vegas Hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the development of Wicked Billionaire. The beginning was intriguing and humorous. Bailey’s nickname for him, Dicklan, suited him well. I also appreciated how Bennett took us through their working relationship, the introduction to the sex club and a budding friendship. It wasn’t the traditional path and I enjoyed every phase. And although it was super steamy hot, it wasn’t focused on the sex alone. The storyline had depth and substance. The only drawback to me - but I didn’t rate down for it - was that if it were real life, the storyline screamed sexual harassment. No spoilers, so no elaboration, but there was one or two conversations that could have been eliminated to fit a more realistic view and eliminate sexual harassment. Otherwise, I totally enjoyed the storyline. Lastly, I came to love Declan. His journey was both heartfelt and entertaining and it was a totally worthy read.

Another great Sawyer Bennett read in the Wicked Horse Vegas Series and unfortunately for me, the last in one of my favorite series by her. Each book had such a unique plot with characters that each have their own voice. Sawyer is a brilliant author. She always manages to tell such diverse stories from unique view points.

Wicked Billionaire concludes the Wicked Horse Vegas Series with Declan Blackwood’s story. We’ve met him the previous book having fun at The Wicked Horse Club as all of the members do. Declan runs in elite social circles as he’s the heir to a Billion Dollar hotel empire. He works hard and doesn’t have time for a relationship. I tend to only like my heroes that aren’t looking for relationships. It makes it that much sweeter when that “one” right woman changes their mind.

Enter Bailey Robbins, Declan’s maid. He is arrogant initially but she doesn’t take his crap and talks back when she needs to. She’s nice but has a backbone. Declan decides to hire her as his personal assistant.

Can they mix business and pleasure? Declan thinks he can. Declan and Bailey embark on a no strings attached relationship where they of course, often meet at The Wicked Horse Club.

I enjoyed this book a lot. Sawyer always writes an amazing contemporary romance with twists.

Where to begin.....I guess I should start by saying how much I have enjoyed this series I really hope this isn't the end of of it even though it looks like it is. I am hoping there is either a spin-off in the works based on some prospects in this story or we will still be gifted with stories from the WICKED HORSE VEGAS from time to time.

Bailey and Declan have great chemistry together even before they "get together". She is smart and has a smart mouth, he is good looking and a bit cocky, they feed off of one another and it's great. Declan never liked bratty subs but that was before he met Bailey, she had him rethinking a lot of things.

It's finally time to say goodbye to the Wicked Horse Vegas series... it's been a heck of a ride, LITERALLY! Wicked Billionaire is the final installment in an amazing series. I feel like we've come a long way from when we first met Jericho in book one. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single installment and reading this one was definitely bittersweet.

While the premise is good and the steam and hotness is there... the two main characters lacked just a bit of that spark and chemistry that I have come to expect in these books. Declan and Bailey have a tumultuous relationship to put it lightly... it starts off pretty crazy, turns into a boss/employee forbidden relationship, and finally forms into, what, I'm not quite sure. Overall, it was a good read and it kept me going wanting to find out how it all came to an end.

Fans of the series will no doubt enjoy their story, but for me, something was missing. Don't get me wrong... if you are in it for the insanely sexy scenes and that classic Sawyer Bennett magic, then definitely pick this one up!  I'm excited to see what's in store next from Ms. Bennett!

Hotel tycoon Declan Blackwood is a master in the boardroom and is always in complete control. When Bailey Robbins walks into his suite as a cleaning lady there is a spark that he just cannot understand. Challenging her to be his assistant for one month proves to become so much more when the two embark on an agreement to play at night at the Wicked Horse sex club. But will Declan have met his match in that Bailey can give just as much as she receives? Or will the agreement be overshadowed when emotions and a real true connection come into play? Just as with all of the books in the series, Sawyer Bennett once again creates not only wonderfully written characters but entertains the reader with every turn of the page. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas might not hold up within the chapters of this book.

bailey and declan are opposites in terms of wealth, place in life and family background but that doesn't stop them from being attracted to one another. despite declan's ability to splurge on her, bailey doesn't accept his help especially not financially. she's an independent working woman who needs nobody to hand everything to her. as the heir to a hotel empire, declan's used to getting what he wants. he strives for the best and is unrelenting. even though his family is dysfunctional, he has a great role model who he cares for a lot. his interaction with this person changed how he's perceived.

the erotica parts were steamy but not overdone. the sexual tension was off the roof. but there were emotional attachment starting to form after a while of knowing each other. overall, even though it was short, the author managed to develop the initial meeting and the eventual relationship well without it feeling rushed.

I always love a visit to The Wicked Horse Vegas and Wicked Billionaire was everything I expected in this series and more.

Declan’s life is busy running his families hotel empire, he doesn’t date but he enjoys all the wickedness at The Wicked Horse. Bailey works for Declan as a maid, however, there is something different about her and Declan is drawn to her. He offers her a position as his personal assistant. It is a great opportunity and could really help her out.

There is TONS of chemistry between these two from the moment they met. They both tried to keep it professional and fight their attraction to each other, however, once they cross that line it is an EXPLOSION of kindle melting chemistry that continues throughout the story.

While this story brings the heat, there is also so much more to both Declan and Bailey’s story. I love that Bailey is a strong, independent and fierce woman. She loves and cares for her parents and that shows so much throughout the story. There a many layers to Declan as a character and I love that we get to see all of them throughout the story.

Wicked Billionaire is a MUST READ, especially for those who love The Wicked Horse Vegas.

This one didn't really hold me the way a Sawyer Bennett book normally does. I just wasn't captured by it. It wasn't that I didn't like the characters, especially Bailey, she was pretty cool. I don't even know how to explain it.

It might be that I'm not a huge fan of overly sexed up books, and this one starts off with a fair few sex scenes. Which is completely understandable given that its part of the Wicked Horse series, revolving around the Wicked Horse sex club.

My favourite part of this book was the end, when things delved a bit deeper for the characters. I didn't mind this book, I just didn't love it, and thats just a personal choice. I really like reading Sawyer Bennett books in general, and I still really look forward to what she brings us next.

Review by Trinette Dungee

“Perfect”, I say with a genuine smile. I nab my robe from the end of my bed where housekeeping put it when they completed the turndown service in my suite, long before I returned with Sonya in tow. “There won’t be any misunderstanding or hurt feelings when I don’t ask for your number then.”

Asshole. That’s the first word and thought regarding Declan Blackwood after just being 20% into this book. The introduction to Declan Blackwood came in Wicked Secret (August and Leighton’s story), where Declan was basically the buddy who teamed up with August during August’s trips to The Wicked Horse. Based on what I remembered, or what I thought I remembered, Declan was a wealthy playboy and seemed like he was fun and happy go lucky. That is most definitely is not the Declan I encountered in Wicked Billionaire. This guy was a jerk! My second thought, “My God, she’s finally done it. Sawyer Bennett has created a man that I simply hate. I didn’t immediately like Griffin in Code Name: Hacker, but that was because of how he was using Bebe; but Declan…oh, not liking him was definitely because of his attitude. I’m officially worried.

Declan Blackwood, heir to a luxury hotel empire is about as close to American Royalty as you can get, his words, not mine. Seriously, they are his words. “Blackwood is about as close to American royalty as you can get. Blackwood Hotels and Resorts are the world’s leading luxury hotels, frequented by queens, presidents, and sheiks, as well as by the world’s elite one-percenters. My name is worth billions. No doubt, this stranger has fantasies about being a part of that dynasty.”

See, the arrogance just oozes from this guy. Anyway, because of his “station” in this world, Declan tends to play by his own rules. Relationships, they are non-existent. His priority is his job, his company, making money. He’s accustomed to being catered to, not doing the catering. His level in life is pretty much above everyone else. Hell, even learning the hotel name of a hotel staff member isn’t on his radar, that is until one Bailey Robbins enters his room and suddenly his outlook changes. She’s caught his attention with her “you’re in my way, and I have things to do” and “I need and like this job, but I’m not going to do a lot of ass-kissing to keep this job” attitude. With just a brief encounter with Bailey, he sees something that makes him want her on his team and soon it’s a different team he wants her on but that would mean crossing a line he’s never crossed before.

I stare at this man, who just ordered me to do something far outside of my job duties. That he’s asking to do it makes me want to laugh. I need this job, but I also have a backbone. “With all due respect, Mr. Blackwood,” I say firmly, my chin lifted. “I’m a housekeeper. I have other suites to clean. I simply can’t help you with this.”

Right here is where I decide, Bailey Robbins is my girl! That and the fact that she secretly refers to him as “Dicklan”! LOL.

Bailey Robbins knows what it means to work for what she wants. Handouts just don’t happen to her. While she may not have lived the privileged life, she’s definitely lived a lot easier than she’s living now but thanks to her ex-husband life is making her work for everything she needs. Declan Blackwood entering her life and offering her a chance to dig herself out of her hole a lot faster doesn’t come without it's compromises. Aside from fighting the insane attraction that seems to be mutual, there’s the introduction to Declan’s world of The Wicked Horse. Sleeping with the boss has never been on her fantasy list but Declan is quickly making Bailey more interested in things she never thought she wanted. Bailey may know what it’s like to have the unconditional love of family but she’s not without her own fears and insecurities. Being burned badly has not made trusting easy for her so she has her own way of keeping people at arm’s length.

Okay, so my worried soul was calmed the more I read, but it still took me a while to finally stop mentally looking at Declan (and Sawyer) with a side-eye. The more we delve into Declan’s world, the more we can understand him. Money and status rule Declan’s world. Even loyalty takes a backseat. He may have grown up wanting for nothing, but he definitely lacked the cohesiveness of family that Bailey has experienced.

While their escapades may have started at the Wicked Horse, Declan and Bailey quickly realize, once they cross that line, that they prefer their escapades in a more private setting as well as the luxury of exclusivity. The manage to, somewhat, keep their working relationship separate from the physical one but slowly but surely their lives start to bleed into each other’s. There is the normal angst that threatens to tear them apart, but that’s kept to a minimum which I like, I’m not really an angst type of girl. This isn’t an angst driven storyline or even a forbidden one. It’s more about the development and/or evolution of two people.

What I loved about Declan and Bailey, is that these have two very strong personalities that both give as good as they get and they never lose who they are as people. They simply shifted how they think and see situations. The people you see at the end are who they were at their core, it just needed to be brought out by the right person.

There is always a thought or a line that just sticks out to me in books, this one came at the end.

And as much as I would love to lose myself in between Bailey’s legs, I'd rather help her with her problem and eat a good meal she worked hard on. I stand from the chaise, then hold a hand out. “Let’s go inside, We’ll talk while we finish getting dinner ready.” …. sigh, that so romantic!!!

The Wicked Horse Vegas series has been an erotically-charged smorgasbord of sexy heroes and likable heroines finding a bit of freedom through a club that helps visitors forget all their troubles. Through eight previous books the heat's been turned up, and numerous HEAs have been achieved, in a series of books that I've enjoyed and that are still inspiring my dreams. Though the storylines are familiar at times there are still plenty of decadent delights to be found in a series that I'll re-read whenever I need a steamy escape from the chaos.

This ninth and final installment introduces readers to the commanding Declan Blackwood, a man of wealth accustomed to getting everything he wants. He's a strong-willed man, self-assured when it comes to business and decadent delights. As the heir apparent he's always been expected to excel at marketing the family name...and excel he does. Each new hotel carrying the family name is one more example of his success and another moment of pride for the elder Blackwoods. When it comes to love, it soon shows itself to be a foreign concept in his life, a life valued more for accomplishments. His parents are clearly incapable of showing affection, more concerned with accolades and wealth, and it's made him equally as controlled in his dealings with others. That's not to say that he's incapable of love, he's just extremely guarded and leery of putting his heart on the line. Declan's a character that's a bit offensive early on, a bit too over the top when he's around others as he's a perfectionist at times. In the business world he's a strong presence, but he's even more so in the bedroom in scenes that set the pages on fire. It's here that he and Bailey showed their compatibility, showed how opposites can be truly perfect together in a romance that brought out a more human and likable side to Declan.

Bailey Robbins is one of Ms. Bennett's more likable heroines, a hard-working and supportive woman. She comes from a loving family, a family that she's now a caretaker to. Her life revolves around work, work, and more work as her parent's disabilities require lots of money. A cheating and lying ex husband left his mark on her life too, leaving her with massive debt and a few self-doubts over trusting others. Despite the long hours at work Bailey's still someone who takes time out for her family and it's moments like this that bind them together and show Declan a better way to be. She shows him what's truly important and together they take a scorching and sentimental journey to HEA. From the first page to the last I came to admire Bailey more and more. She never saw her family as a burden and never made them feel that way either as she loved them unconditionally for everything they've done for her in the past. She never took crap from Declan, pushed him when he needed to be pushed, while allowing him to have control during their scorching interludes that made for a satisfying balancing act. She's strong and competent in her work and, courtesy of Declan, she had some intense moments of play that made me blush a time or two while I was cheering them on towards HEA.

On a whole this was an immensely appealing tale of opposites attracting, but it's more than just that as what defines happiness drives this story as well. Declan may come from wealth but it's clear from the start that he's unhappy. He's missing out on something and it's only with Bailey's help that he can discover what that is in a relationship full of give and take. I might not have loved Declan at the start but I enjoyed his evolution and found this story to be an entertaining series-ender in a series of books that were reliably sexy and satisfying. Add in an admirable heroine and you'll find this a winner from the first page to the last!

***4 ‘Team Bailey’ Stars***

After finishing Wicked Secret, I was crossing my toes that we’d get a little more time with Declan, because the man was HAWT! So, I was all kinds of excited to hear that he was up next, even though I was also a bit sniffly that this would be the last of the series, this was a fun and smexy as all get out read!

Declan was all kinds of alpha male arrogant goodness. He definitely had me raising an eyebrow a few times with how...direct he was, but as time went on, his softer side came out and he was pretty lethal. But as much as I loved Declan, Bailey totally stole the show for me. Hard working, driven, feisty and simply a good person. Her world had shifted sideways, but she put her shitkickers on and did what needed to be done. She knew her worth and owned it.

Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. It was all kinds of opposites attract/forbidden goodness. The sexual tension between them was intense from the start and it definitely pushed their relationship along at a faster pace than either expected. Their bantering was a lot of fun, but I loved how the more they were around each other, the more they admired and respected each other. The bump in their road was a bit of a surprise, though maybe it shouldn’t have been, but I thoroughly enjoyed how it was put to rest so they could have the HEA they so richly deserved.

I am a tinsy bit sad that this is the last of the series, but it is definitely going out on a good note. This book was low on the angstyness and simply just a fun read, so if you’re looking for some smexy, good times then this is the one for you!

Bailey is still healing both emotionally and financially from finding out that the life she was living is nothing but a lie. She is a woman who is loyal to those she loves which is why she finds herself working multiple jobs to make ends meet and one of those jobs is at Blackwood Resorts as a housecleaner

Declan comes from an affluent lifestyle and he is a successful business who has always had anything that money can buy but the same can’t be said when it comes to love. He believes that everyone and everything has a price and he believes the same holds true for Bailey.

He is both attracted and intrigued when she comes to clean his room and it is only a matter of time where they spend their days working together and their nights at Wicked Horse, what could possibly go wrong?

Although Bailey and Declan couldn’t have come from more different backgrounds, they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Bailey loves him despite his wealth not because of it while he shows her that she can trust him with her heart and the chemistry between them radiates off the pages.

*I received a free copy of Wicked Billionaire. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*

The hotness factor in Wicked Billionaire is off the charts! And I loved both Declan and Bailey very much. She didn't take any kind of shit from Declan and was completely able to stand her own. And ironically, this is what made Declan so very interested in her.
Written in dual points of view, the reader gets both Declan's and Bailey's inner thoughts, which is a great thing, because they both start asking themselves questions at the same time.
Another hot romp in Vegas, but with much more than that, too. Bailey takes care of her parents whenever she feels that she has to, and Declan is more or less estranged from his family. However, they both have a common goal for the future: not trust too easily, and not be hurt again.

If you like a Cinderella fairy tale trope, then read this book. I just think some parts were good, and other parts of it were ok. I just think this series has run its course as the stories go on the direction hasn't peaked my interest 100? But it does sure have some steamy elements that Sawyer knows how to write.

Narrators Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh were good for their characters, but a pet peeve of mine is using the same narrators for an entire series that makes them seem the same characters throughout.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Audio Review: Wicked Billionaire (The Wicked Horse Vegas #8) by Sawyer Bennett, Narrated by Lance Greenfield, Kirsten Leigh

Wicked Billionaire by Sawyer BennettMy rating: 4 of 5 starsBennett saved the best for last. Wicked Billionaire is brash, sensual, acerbic and unpredictable. Declan can be a little hard to take, but the thrill comes from waiting to see what he'll do next. In Bailey he meets his match. A tough cookie with the smart mouth to back it up. I had the chance to listen to Leigh and Greenfield bring Bailey and Declan to life and the experience is electric. A firecracker.View all my reviews
