Buenas noches, estrellitas

Rate this book
It’s bedtime for little bear... but the starry sky looks so exciting! This magical book has ten lights for little children to discover as they join little bear and his dad on a walk before bed. Each time you turn a page there are even more stars shining in the sky, until it’s time to wander home and fall fast asleep. • A stunning gift for young children, who will love the real lights shining out of the pages. The lights can be simply turned on and off using a switch on the back of the book. A new title in the same format as the successful The Twinkly, Twinkly Christmas Tree (9781474952606).

Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.

This is called ‘Goodnight, I Love You’ in the UK but that edition is not present here.

A sweet little story with simple rhymes and physical lights to represent the stars.

My main gripes are (a) for the price it is far too short and even my baby noted this, and (b) they could have done a lot more to interestingly integrate the stars into the narrative.

Not a long story but I enjoyed the flow of the words and my 5 year old loved that it lit up.

We love the story that is told however the format could be improved. The dark writing on the blue background is hard to read in dim light as is the font especially “o” and “a”.

It’s a really cute story but there are errors and it’s basically impossible to read with the lights (until you memorize it!)
