My name is Inez Garner, and I’m a vampire princess, wife to two vampire nobles, fiancée to two more, and girlfriend to another. I’m the leader of a new coven that is made up of mostly shifter clans and thriving better than established covens and they love that. But we’re still in a precarious position as our main location for the coven only has the castle.
And what a castle it is, built by my husband who abandoned me. I’m not bitter.
I’ve come a long way from barely surviving, and I think we’ve reached the point where we have survived the apocalypse and crossed into the post-apocalypse phase. We’re still debating that, but the zombies—or the corrupted, as some idiot named them to be PC—are under better control and not constantly trying to eat me.
Unfortunately, I think that means those who survived will come out of hiding and be stupid, which is dangerous. No matter how strong we are, someone will always find an opening or make a move we’re not ready for.
Does this mean I finally get to play with the fighter jets?
Erin is a born Chicagoan who decided to state hop a bit, given she works from home. She currently resides in Georgia with her pup, Lord Vader Flynn. With an eclectic and addictive personality, there isn’t much that doesn’t interest her or she won’t pour herself into if it catches her fancy. She has always been interested in the darker aspects of life and mythologies—especially vampires, shifters, the occult, and anything paranormal.
To date, she has published more paranormal books than she can keep up with the characters for, in different genres with dedicated readers who await each release to her numerous series under any of the three Flynn names she writes.
OMG Inez.. get the freak over your abandonment issues already. Its fine for her to "need time" to deal and cope but just as soon as one of her guys also needs it she is irrational and straight up crazy. I can't even with her, and I can't stop reading these books! I'm not sure I've ever been so absorbed by a story where I'm so freaking frustrated with an FMC before. Ovary it up girl.
I will say that when trying to produce a summary on these books I start drawing blanks. I mean so much is always happening. The planning itself for all the ins and outs takes up chapters. Can't help but feel a little rode hard and put up wet at the end. Inez and her powers are growing and so is her harem.. though slowly now it seems. Commitments are made and tied up with a bow and the goddess is gifting Inez's house all the goodies as she tries to maneuver the politics of the new world order. I feel like just as soon as we gain more allies enemies just come out of the wood works.
I don't know how many books are going to be in this series... or even when the next one is going to be out but I already know I'm not going to be able to read them book by book as they release. I don't have the patience for that life. Not only that I'm still hung up on some of Erin's other stories that aren't finished. Can't wait to have more out from this author!
If I could, I’d choose 3.5*. I enjoyed the book and was glad to see where this story is going. But the truth is, it seems like a lot of things are on rinse and repeat.
Personal preference but my eyes roll when I read ‘woves you’. It’s hard to take characters seriously when it pops up. I understand it’s slightly sarcastic but I just can’t with it.
Would I read it again and recommended it? Yes. It’s a good book, just not great. Same with the storyline. There’s the odd spelling mistake but that’s not the end of the world. I just know it bothers some people.
I enjoyed the premise of this story as I have all books from this author I've read but there is waaay too much filler. On and on about coming this and harvesting that and then skipping to an interesting plot that wasn't explained just handled. I'd like to see more of these books as well as the Artemis university ones as well. Hopefully the next book will have more meat less filler.. and no I don't mean keep taking about meat and fillings
★★★★★ – My Favourite Erin Flynn Series, Hands Down
I absolutely love the House of Garner series. From book one all the way through book nine, Inez’s journey had me hooked. Normally anything apocalyptic - especially with zombies, would have me running the other direction, but this series is the exception. It’s brilliant, unique, and easily my favourite Flynn series (and yes, I’ve read almost everything - Artemis, I’m coming for you eventually!).
This deserves a long review because it’s just that good. The worldbuilding, the massive harem, the emotional stakes, the humour - everything works. Inez is relatable, flawed, resilient, and genuinely inspiring. She falls, grows, gets back up, and keeps fighting. She’s an absolute powerhouse of a heroine.
Also, Erin… please, I am begging: give us character glossaries. With the number of characters, species, powers, family lines, and love interests, we need a directory - especially in a long-running series. Even a website glossary would help your fans so much.
The Men (So Far) Darius – The first, and still one of the best. He’s young by immortal standards, carrying his own trauma, and he tries so hard. He deserves happiness with Inez, and I hope he’s still around thriving at the end.
Jaxon – Love his mom, but Jaxon himself needs a lot of growth. The potential is there, but he’s not my favourite.
Kristoff – A standout! His growth has been incredible, and I’m loving the daddy/breeding-kink energy he brings. More ancient vampires in this harem, please.
Cerdic – Still on the fence. He’s fine, but his family? Yikes. I’m hoping for a redemption arc - and maybe that twin scene readers are thirsting for.
Branko – He faded into the background for a while, but now that he’s back, I’m excited again. His backstory and his mom are going to be wild, I can feel it.
James – Did not love his special scenes or his behaviour. He feels unreliable, and the “what if he finds his destined mate?” question hangs over everything. Not my pick.
The Men Who Are (Hopefully) Joining Sisay – Friend-zoned and trying so hard to escape it. I want more for him. His friendship with Inez deserves to grow into something bigger.
Petre – My second-favourite ancient vampire. A great character, though I wasn’t thrilled about the moment with Lara. Still, I want many more scenes with him.
Vitor – My favourite ancient vampire. He’s powerful, old, fascinating, and gives off the best energy. Also I’m loving the daddy/breeding-kink energy he brings too. I need his backstory, his nationality, everything. More Vitor!
Tian – He absolutely needs to join the harem. The potential is huge, the vibes immaculate, and his story is going to break hearts. And yes, that bite scene… iconic.
Moon – Needs more page time. His connection with Inez felt important early on, but it hasn’t gone anywhere yet. Hoping for more development and clarity.
The Wishlist Men (A girl can dream!)
Vance – What happened here? He had such strong momentum, then James swooped in and took over. Vance deserves better.
Tyson – Rooted for him early on, and his dynamics with Inez were stronger than James’s ever were. Would definitely welcome him into the harem.
CeAwlin – He’s coming, we all know it, and the twin scene potential is there! Give it to us! Give him more screen time!
Sundar – He called her “My Princess.” He said it. He’s already falling, and he deserves happiness after everything he endured. I want him in Inez’s life permanently, there is just something special about him.
Final Thoughts I adore this series. The FMC, the MMCs, the villains, the world, the lore - everything works together beautifully. It’s emotional, action-packed, funny, sexy, and full of heart. I cannot wait for more.
5/5 stars. Absolutely amazing.

Why did you read this book? I am wanting to get through some RH romance series I’ve put on the back burner.
What format did you read this book in? Read it as an ebook on Kindle.
Is this an educational book or a book for entertainment? I read this book for pure entertainment purposes.
What genres do you think this book belongs to? Crime, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Paranormal, Psychology, Romance, Science Fiction, Spirituality, Travel, Adult
What was your favorite part in the book? SPOILERS My favorite part is when she reveals that she was spying on everyone through the whole wedding.
Who would you suggest this book to? Anyone who likes vampires, zombies, and dystopias.
What is your general opinion/ rating of this book? SPOILERS I have some serious mixed emotions on this one. Why did the MC forgive Kristof and not Darius as quickly? The guy is trying… Yes, he was gone drinking for two months, but he didn’t cheat on her. He had some hang ups of his own. Also the fact the MC is growing into her leader role, yet still hasn’t been maturing or healing emotionally is concerning. I know that the MC and her love interests have been going quickly, but she ALWAYS has the option to say no. That’s what I loved about her in the beginning, that she didn’t care about the norms. Now it seems like she is just doing what everyone wants her to do, and that doesn’t sit right with me as the reader. I feel like the MC is also a total Mary Sue at this point. Sadly, I feel like I am falling out of love with the MC… Her marriage ceremony was awesome though. I am moving on to the next book.
Are there any cliché scenes or concepts? MC is born special with special powers. Love interests are magically attracted to her.
How intense are the intimacy scenes? Very intense, graphically detailed. Blood play is involved (expected from vampire genre romances). Voyeurism. Knife play. Menage. Menstrual play.
At what “burn” level is the romance? This one is as SPICY HOT as the previous book in the series.
Love interests, how many of them are there and what gender? There are seven love interests, all males, and vampires. (Maybe more… it’s hard to tell at this point.)
Kristof – Vampire husband she marries in this book. Cedric- Vampire husband she marries in this book. Jaxon- Vampire husband. Branko- Vampire trying to date MC. Darius- Vampire husband that messed up, but is trying to redeem himself. Vitor- Ancient vampire in love with MC. Moon- Another ancient vampire. He is in love. (Possible others include: Sissay, Eddie, and Tien.)

A good read but . . . ( potential spoilers included)
Okay so since it’s been a minute since the last of this series had been out I re- read the whole thing so I could be in the right world when reading this one. From that unnoticed a very interesting writing pattern. Everything happens fast and a lot happens off page. Events that happened between books that had bearing on why things play out the way they do in book left me feeling like I was always playing catch up all while things were constantly going forward timeline wise in the story. So I totally get why Inez kept having breakdowns. I was right there with her. It keeps being mentioned that things needed to slow down for her but the pace didn’t really slow down. For this book, I felt as blindsided as the nobles did when it was revealed how Inez just lost hope and faith and was just going through the motions. This is not the woman from book one. She has been so tied down and everyone is just letting it happen cause she is so giving she isn’t saying no. Why does she not have weapons on her more often? Why is she not shooting first and then ask questions? My heart was so broken through out this whole book with her. If the author did anything extremely well it was making me as depressed as Inez was. I didn’t really feel happy about how things were going once Inez expressed how she felt. I felt positive things like impressed, proud, and satisfaction but not happy. If any request I give to the author reaches her its that let Inez find peace with herself and her life. Do I want her to make up with her men, grow back into the love relationship they had and her to possibly add to them ? Yes but I want her to have peace and rest more. I don’t normally like putting powerful females into a coma but she needs to just literally shut down for 3 days to a week with no one bother her. Truly recharge with nothing added on top of what is already on her plate. That leads me into something I found annoying with this series that I didn’t notice until I re- read the whole thing this time. Information management of the apocalypse projects. It never stopped. In the middle of having a meaningful growth conversation and we stop to talk about the apocalypse. Should be resting? talk about the projects. I understand that the apocalypse projects are happening but there is no division. It seems that they had fun and took some kind of breaks between books that maybe they didn’t continuously let other things get if the way of but it doesn’t happen in book. No wonder they woman is constantly stressed. I was just reading it. Please try to find a better way to write about the projects happening and her involvement but also let her start having a life too. I love this story I truly do but how it is written needs some tweaking. The transitions between scenes, pov and books can be a bit rocky. Lesser information dumps. Slow down on how events play out. In closing I will most definitely read the next book. I want to know where things are going. I just hope it will be better and flow more like the first book. As well as bring back more of the confident kick ass woman she was then too. Have her decide to let go of the emotional and mental baggage she can reasonably do so with and move on. Not asking her to be perfect but I can’t do another book of her being like she was in this book. It triggers my own anxiety. I like her honest realistic reactions but it feels like too much. It the flipping apocalypse. Cut off what isn’t working and be happy.
I have really enjoyed the first four books. This one was really hard to get through. **SPOILERS **
For someone who always is saying it’s the apocalypse get over it she sure was mad at her husbands for trying to do all the things she wants to make the place better but they were not giving her enough attention. if that would’ve been one chapter that would’ve been OK, but it’s the whole book it ruined the wedding between her nobles, when she pretty much told them she didn’t want to do get married. I really felt she was mean to Darius yes he made a mistake but she’s not perfect. Oh my goodness could you talk more about food pages upon pages of description of the food but good news is I really enjoyed all the other books so I’m hoping the next two are better than this one!
I love and hate Erin’s books for the same reason: tons of relationships drama with realistic feelings. This book was no different. Sometimes I just want to read a sappy perfect love story with easily solved conflicts. There was none of that in this book. I loved that Inez was able to express her feelings and everything was not solved this book! I really cannot wait for things to go back to perfect with her guys but the book was well written and advanced the plot perfectly. There is a perfect mix of attention to detail and long term story telling, so it so easy to get sucked in and invested in the world!
Everything that Erin R Flynn writes is amazing. The well thought out plot lines, the sneaky little twists, and many controversial topics i.e. Sexism and racism all fold into each other creating a series that I just couldn't put down.
Inez and her guys took us on a roller-coaster of emotions and while there is so much left up in the air with her Knights and guards the series has ended at a good place allowing the readers to make their own assumptions as to whether she forgives Darius or whether she accepts more love into her heart.
I can't wait to start the nexr series by Erin R Flynn!
I have read every book in the series starting Friday and finishing up today. I am in love with the characters. They own their emotions and each book they grow a little more. This isn't the perfect fated mates story and I really love that. I rarely write reviews and if I do it is for my favorite authors. I just added Erin R Flynn to the list. Erin- keep writing! The story you are telling is a unique one and I would be distraught if you didn't continue!
There is not enough space here to tell how much I love this series and this author. The world building and character development is one of the best I have read. Lots of action and steam. A completely different take on the end of the world scenarios. Story is fast paced and interaction between the characters is well written. On my third re-read and anxiously await the next one. If you haven't read any of the other series from this author, I highly recommend them. All are available on KU, but I loved them so much I purchased all of this series, Artemis University and Seraphine Thomas.
And I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner. I've been a fan of Joyce Flynn, one of the writer's other pen names, for years. I own just about every book she published under Joyee Flynn which was the name I originally found her under. I got most of this series several months ago while they were part of a free offer, but just started reading them now. Well written as usual I really love the post apocalyptic paranormal dystopia that she has created here. I am waiting impatiently for the next book in the series.
So I wanted this book so badly I stayed up all night reading when I should be sleeping for work the next day. Do I care, nope I'll deal. Absolutely awesome Inez is like a rightly paranoid genius with all the face slapping. Her marriage weekend goes to the pigs and she's pissed at her husband's. At least she has her epic castle. I need to read more, sucks being patient. Can't wait to read more. JL
I have repeatedly read the series as all the books are awesome. The books are a continuous story and should definitely be read in order. The story progresses in each book in different ways so the latter books feel different from the first books. Each book in the series has been riveting. Could not put it down and read it in a day. Now I just have to be patient and wait for the next one...
This was another wonderful addition to the series. I had the release date on my calendar as soon as I heard about it. I love how this series (all of her books actually) deal with serious issues respectfully but still have an interesting storyline, characters with personality and awesome abilities, and situations and dialogue that make me laugh.
I was so happy to see this release! I love this series, there are some real and trigger situations that don’t magically get resolved in the next chapter! Yes, there is still darkness to come, but I love seeing the tactical scenario playing out, and how people are finding joy again. I also really liked the multiple perspectives of events occurring simultaneously within the celebrations...shifter, Princess, Noble, or in-laws.
I really liked the strong female characters and the fact that they are rebuilding a society. I can’t wait to see how many princesses get sick for being jerks & her killing off any that try for her or her friends. This was well thought out, but ended on a sad note. I really hope the author continues with the seriesand brings it back to the positive. I also want her to except the other 3 to court her.w
Man, other princesses are just drama. They poke and try so hard to undermine and destroy all Inez has built up , but they are the fools that won’t survive the fallout. Poor Inez and her relationship drama. Even as she goes into a wedding. I hope, like in other Erin R Flynn series, that eventually she stops getting dumped on by the people she lets in. But that took ages in Artemis. So maybe a bit sooner than that lol
I loved the continuation of the series and hope to see more of Inez and her coven, also dying to know how she'll deal with Cedric's twin and his despicable princess. Hope she kicks their arses!!! Thank you Erin for another amazing installment for this series, please keep writing, your stories are a balm to the soul!!!
I love this series. I can't wait for book 6. I'm hoping that things work out with her and husband. Plus I need her to take the other ones as well. She definitely should be greedy. I love reading kickass, smart ,and strong female leads. Especially RH. I'm excited to read what happens next.
Inez finally marries Cerdic and Kristoff. Vampires from all over the world come to the wedding and try to cause trouble. But Inez also finds allies in unexpected places. Several plot threads are left hanging, so I hope this isn't the end of the saga.
This series had a lot of potential but by the end of this book it’s really dragging on. It’s eat, screw, fight, repeat nothing new or exciting is really happening at this point. How many paragraphs I skipped about another fantastic new food, the bit of story line between sex scenes. Inez is just a eating, shooting, screwing machine at this point.
While (impatiently! LOL) waiting for the next book in the Artemis University series), I decided to try out this one as it had good reviews. WOW! I'm sure glad I did. The characters and world building is amazing. I bought the rest in the series and immediately binge read them all over the rainy weekend. Now I can't wait for the next book on this series as well!
There is always so much going on in each book! The world of Inez is huge and rich, full of people and their stories. I want to know more about all of them, how each storyline of the side characters gets resolved, what happens next in their journeys, and what plans come to fruition For Team Inez in subsequent books.
Well worth the wait! Inez has been through so much and is understandably reticent to jump into new situations. I love how she is always so capable and you don't learn about the layers until later, if then. I'm excited for more, as I always am for any Erin Flynn story
I love house of Garner! This is one of my favorites series from Eryn. Kick ass MC great plot and lots of steamy scene between Inez and husbands. I cannot wait for next book. I strongly recommend this series and honestly any series by Eryn .
What is there not to like about this series. Vampires, the apocalypse, shifters. Inez and her men are amazing!!! I love the storyline and world and I can’t wait for the next one.
Each book is better than the last. The twist and turns of the plots always has me reading the book in one go. There's a new twist to look forward to in each book. Can't wait for the next.
It was so good to get another story of Inez and her group. This was a great continuation. And it’s good to see the coven coming together. Please keep writing books for all of your stories. I gobble them up in one sitting!!
I love when a new book comes out in all her series. I read this one in two days could have done it faster in I did not have to work. I would really love of she came out with a new karma bakery book.
