However, actually publishing wasn't part of her plan. After her husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she found that writing became a great way to relieve the tension and mounted pressures that come with watching someone she loves suffer from such a harsh diagnosis. It was her husband that pushed her to share her voice, regardless of how erotic that voice would become.

Moving onto Book #6 in the Internet Famous Collection we meet Braxton Knight, a celebrity chef, and this tale of Cam Johns is based loosely on Rapunzel. I have to admit I was a little confused at first as the book is set in two different periods. We have Braxton now where he is trying to get another second chance with Senara whom he slept within a no-strings relationship during a dark time when the love of his life - his first love Phoenix died. Now three years later he is becoming very successful and going to therapy as he is ready to try and move on and we read as he shares with his therapist his love story with Phoenix that was cut short. Phoenix was a designer who came to eat in his restaurant, the day that a food blogger was doing a review. Braxton was so nervous that he ended up spilling the food and Phoenix came to the rescue. As he got to know Phoenix, he realized her life wasn't all sunshine and happiness and that she was like Rapunzel, locked away and only used for her parent's purposes which eventually was what killed her. During his therapy, Senara comes back, is Braxton this time around ready to stand up and be the man she needs him to be? Find out in "Seconds" by Cam Johns.

Cam Johns has a unique ability to twist a fairy tale. I loved this Rapunzel retelling about the girl trapped in a tower by (can't tell you that... you have to read it) and the chef who fell for her. It was heartbreaking at times and it kicked me in the gut when the twist hit, but I'm a fan of those kind of stories—the ones that make you feel the emotion. It's beautifully written and so worth the read.

It is a unique modern dark retelling of Rapunzel as you have never seen before. There is angst and drama, laughs and heartbreak, tears and struggles and so much more. Cam's writing style keeps you engaged and the unexpected dark twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat.

Seconds (Internet Famous Collection #7) puts a unique twists with a dark retelling of the Fairytale Rapunzel. I absolutely loved it. Intricately weaved with heart-rending moments and laughter at times. I was drawn to the characters and the storyline. I loved the arrangement with the letters written to celebrity chef Braxton Knight.

Second by Cam Johns is fairy tale retelling of Rapunzel.
I LOVED how different this retelling was! I love the dark vibe of it. It has a great balance of drama and sexiness. I really enjoy Miss Johns storytelling and the way these characters seem to incite such feelings and emotions while you’re reading. I found myself tearing up and then bawling at some of the scenes. Ah good times! I anxiously await what’s next from this author!! I give this 5 stars!

Cam Johns is a chef, he also owns his own restaurants, but his life is torn apart when the woman he loves, Phoenix Brighton is ripped away from him by death and he can’t understand why, but he knows he doesn’t want to live without her and that his heart is broken. He thinks about his past experiences, especially with women and the one who got away, he remembers the last time he saw her and thinks about how much his life has changed and that her parting words have come true, just as she predicted, so when he goes to seek help, although he doesn’t want to speak or think about any of it.
Eventually, his therapist helps him to finally open up, but she starts slow and asks about the first time he met Phoenix. This just happened to also be the day when he made a mark in the foodie world with his restaurant which he had just opened. He talks about how a very influential foodie blogger had come to review his restaurant and his food, but when he takes the dish, his pride and joy to her in the restaurant, he cannot take his eyes off of the mystery woman eating alone and reading at another table and unwittingly walks straight into his guest and ends up spilling the entire dish all over her while she is livestreaming to her multitude of followers. Without a second thought, she ends the livestream while giving him a second chance to cook for her when the woman he couldn’t take his eyes off offers to help her out with her dilapidated and food covered state with some clothes she has in the boot of her car. As they disappear he goes to prepare for his second chance and ends up having a rave review, but the mystery woman never comes back, however, she does give her details over the phone when she arranges to pay her bill which she walked out on. After he has spoken about this with his therapist, she gives him some homework and then drops a truth bomb on him at the end of the session, she tells him something about phoenix which he knew nothing about and which shocks him to the core, he feels betrayed, lied to, more heartbroken and angry about this information and it takes time for him to process it.
A couple of days later, he goes back to his restaurant and realises what a selfish person he has been for the last year since Phoenix died when his staff finally break through his angry exterior and open up to him about their feelings and this paired with the homework he has been given, he finally sees a light at the end of the tunnel. This is the start of a long process of grief, recovery and a rollercoaster of emotions as he comes to term with the revelations of more secrets and information while completing his homework until he comes face to face with a blast from his past and doesn’t quite know what to do about it. Will he be able to come to terms with what he knows and what he is finding out and be able to recover from his biggest heartbreak, or will his emotions get the best of him before he can jump on a second chance he never thought he would get and which he is struggling to believe he deserves? This is an emotional rollercoaster filled with secrets, revelations, betrayal, heartbreak and love as you are whirled around in a torrent of emotions along with Cam as he undertakes his journey.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and now she has a new fan. I love a good second chance but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is the sixth book of the Internet Famous series. I read this book as a stand-alone but I met other characters that I want to know more about. I was so hooked to this story I read this book all the way through the first night I got it. I’m so excited to read more of this series.
Braxton Knight is the hottest chef in his town. He loves his job. Braxton just lost his true love and now he is trying to get back to his life. He sees a counselor that they both went to. Braxton starts to open up to his true feelings and the counselor starts to tell Braxton secrets he never thought his lover was hiding. He is learning that the woman he loved was not who she said she was all along. Braxton runs into a woman from his past and they start to feel things he never thought he would feel again but she has secrets of her own. Will Braxton ever find love again or will he just give up?

Seconds is definitely an original modern day telling of Rapunzel with a dark twist, and I never saw it coming. There are three people that I'll name but that's it because this story is so much better when you go in blind. It surrounds Braxton, Phoenix, and Senara, but it's not a love triangle per se. The talented Cam Johns brought the thunder with this story, and I'm still not over it as the book hangover was intense. There's angst for days leading to my heartbreak, so obviously it really hit me hard in the feels. Then, there's the twists that are unexpected that had me dropping some serious f-bombs, but when the biggest one of all hit, well it rendered me mute from shock. These are just a few pieces of goodness that this story was filled with, as there's more to boot. So, this story is one that really blew me away, and I CANNOT WAIT to read more by this amazing author so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Once I started this book, I couldn't stop reading until the end because I had to know what happened to Phoenix and why. The book begins with Braxton opening a new restaurant and being crappy to his sort of girlfriend, Sen and her leaving him with the wish that a woman would come along and rock his world and upset his orderly existence and that she would be around to see it. Then we are take to Braxton's session with a therapist and dealing with his loss of Phoenix and why things happened the way that they did and how he is going to move on now that a year has passed since her death. So we travel back thru memories and learn new things in the sessions and the reader watches Braxton start to put his life back together, but not without a few surprises thrown in. Karma really is something else. This is definitely an emotional book and an interesting, dark interpretation of Rapunzel.

I have been reading books written by Cam Johns from the very beginning...and I have always liked her writing style and her imagination...and she hasn’t written a book yet I didn’t love....♥️🌼
In Seconds, this author has given us an original story about forgiveness and second chances and redemption... There are 3 main characters in this book, but it’s not about a ménage and there is no cheating.....I promise you’ve not read this story before...The characters are multi-layered and the chemistries between Braxton and Senara and Braxton and Phoenix are all on point....It’s emotional, and there are life-altering twists and plenty of steam....Cam John’s has just given us another really good book...♥️🌼
And, let me say, I’m in love with this book cover...and it was so easy picturing that guy as Braxton...♥️🌼

Seconds is a book about second chances. I actually really enjoyed reading this little quickie. Being a short book sometimes it can skip out on important details. This one sure didn’t. This book gave the reader everything one needs to read a great book.
Braxton is going thru something terrible. Absolutely terrible! He doesn’t even know how he’s going to get thru it without all the answers. He has had no idea what was going on with Phoenix. He has since ran into “The one who got away” seems everyone has secrets and poor Braxton is always getting his heart broken. I’m so glad he had Roselyn there to try to help him through everything he is feeling and finding out.
Braxton may have had to go through hell to get where he is but, he was allowed to find his own freedom because of it.
Such a great read!!!

Seconds by Cam Johns is a brilliant second chance romance with an amazing main character right at its centre. This is the first book that I have read from this author on her own - previous books have been co-written with other authors - and I really loved it. I was pulled in straight away and became absolutely hooked reading about Braxton. Although it is quite a short book the story is jam packed and so engaging. I really wanted to find out if Braxton would find his second chance or if what had happened in his past would prevent that.
I also have to say that this book has one of the most striking covers I have seen in a long time. It caught my eye immediately and I would have one clicked this book off the cover alone. This was a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed and it is one I would highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a really emotive story that drags you in. I really like how the story unfolds and as it does we see more of the characters that even they didn't realise.
Braxton is a successful cheif. He's got multiple restaurants and women throwing themselves at him. However Braxton keeps a hard shell to protect himself and even though he has strong feelings for Senara he loses her by pushing her away.
A while later he meets Phoenix and she blows his world apart and his walls down. Braxton becomes the man he's always wanted to be with Phoenix but he doesn't realise she is hiding a big dangerous secret until its too late.
After losing Phoenix he is left devastated and can come to terms with it. With the aid of his therapist he works through his feelings, learns the full truth about Phoenix and her life and slowly learns to open his heart again to love.

It took me just a bit to get pulled into the story but I really enjoyed it.
Braxton is a chef who is struggling with the loss of his love Phoenix. He is seeing a counselor and is sharing their love story. As he talks to the counselor he is learning things that he never caught before. How did he miss some of the important signs? We get to experience his memories with him and I have to say I loved the day they met...I had a LOL moment. I really liked how much the counselor helped him understand the things he was feeling.

Wow, just wow! Cam Johns reworked the story of Rapunzel in a new and exciting read. Braxton Knight is a celebrity chef and loves what he does. Sadly he lost his true love and after years is trying to come back to life and get rid of his anger. He's seeing a therapist and his sessions with them are so heartbreaking. Yet I was rooting for him to come through.
Senara, a woman from his past comes into his life again and he finds himself falling in love all over.
Braxton, Senara, Phoenix (his first lost love) are so well thought out. Ms. Johns has a way with words and brings her characters to life. I was crying, smiling, cheering along with them. One note though is that there are many Fbombs throughout this book so be forewarned!

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. This is a shorter story about second chances and it packs a punch with romance. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. This is a story that has characters that are relatable, engaging and kept me turning pages. This is a story about Braxton. He is a chef that is well known. When an incident puts him in prime time, it also puts him in the path of her. Hearts are made for breaking and putting back together. Will these two get a second chance? Will Braxton learn that sometimes the things we want the most are worth the bumps in the road. This is a great story that I really enjoyed. The characters bring so much to the story and I highly recommend this book.

This is a shorter story, a quick read, but it contains all the elements of an emotion-packed, tear-jerking, drama-filled adventure that we all look for as readers. Seconds makes you love and care about the characters, and even if it were a thousand pages it wouldn’t be enough. This is the first story I’ve read by this author, and I will absolutely be searching for others.

Wow what a heartbreakingly beautiful yet gutwrenching, tear inducing soul searching emotional journey of three people Braxton and Phoenix and Braxton and Senara. You could feel all their emotions from happiness, sadness, heartbreak, anger, frustration, fear,passion and love. I couldn't put the book down once I started because I needed to find out what happened to Phoenix then with Senara. My heart hurt for them all but Braxton shattered me on so many levels.
Don't miss out on this great book.

Seconds from the internet famous collections is the first book that i have read by Cam Johns. This was a amazing read and once i started reading i could not stop. I loved reading about Braxton. This Author has a way of sucking you into the story i really wanted to know what happened to Phoenix and why. One thing i liked about this short read was i was unable to figure out what was going to happen next. I thought the ending was great and i wanted to keep reading more. I would add this read to your to be read pile. Thank you Cam Johns for this wonderful short read and i look forward to reading more books by you.

Seconds by Cam Johns is the sixth standalone novel in the Internet Famous Collection, and was a really good read! For the first chapter or so I thought I was missing some information on the first chapter or so, but as you read through it, that missing information becomes clearer. This is definitely an adult novel, not only for the romance but also some other content towards the end. This book was very immersive, and I found myself rushing to finish, and find out what the conclusion was. For such a short novel, this one was packed full of entertaining content. I definitely recommend this one and can't wait to read more in the future!

I loved this book!! I think it’s probably one of my favourites reads so far this year. I love the retellings of fairy tales with a twist and this definitely had a twist and a half! It was a fantastic read from beginning to end – the author has an amazing ability to drag you into her stories straight away, the emotion that was poured into some of the scenes in this book was evident and I could feel everything the characters were. I think I fell in love with Braxton straight away.
I highly recommend this story and I can’t wait to read more form this author again in the future.

This was another solid offering from this series. Braxton is a celebrity chef who is struggling with overwhelming grief and losing his way. The story is told with a series of flashbacks that gives you insights into his relationship with Phoenix. This side of the story was raw and heartbreaking. Senara was someone who came into his life in the midst of his turmoil. Will Braxton be able to move on and can he make room in his life for another relationship.

Wow, just... wow! Seconds by Cam Johns is the sixth instalment in the internet famous collection, it is a modern retelling of Rapunzel. I was a little confused with the story at the beginning but once it clicked and I got further into it I just couldn’t put it down.
Add in the epic twist at the end and this is a truly enjoyable read that has you hooked.
Braxton’s character had so much depth and there were so many mysteries woven into the storyline.
I definitely recommend this book. Cam Johns has a way with words and she is definitely author I’m going to be looking out for more of.

“A wonderful retelling of the classic fairytale of Rapunzel. I was excited about the idea of a retelling of this classic story. I’m pretty sure it was my first retelling of this fairytale or at least I can’t remember other. Anyway I absolutely adore the darkness of this story. We had drama with some twisted situations and the perfect amount sexiness. It was my first book of Cam and I really liked how the story developed and the personalities of all the characters. A great addition to the Internet Famous Collection.”

Seconds is novella number six in the Internet Famous collection by Cam Johns. Tragedy, turmoil and mortification follows Braxton Knight. Anger drives him and everything in his life begins to spiral out of control. A blast from the past re-enters his life and throws him into a tailspin once more.
This story is about second chances. It is also a spin on a classic fairy tale with a modern twist. The characters were colourful and dramatic, but thoroughly enjoyable to read about. A very eventful story with a happy ending. 4 stars.
