After Entering Stronghold I don’t want to leave
Are these books perfect? No they aren’t. Do I love them? Yes I do.
I like interconnected stand alones. I like BDSM clubs. I like sassy and strong submissives and strong Dominants who can handle them. This series has it all.

Sizzling hot and extremely enjoyable
Welcome to Stronghold, a BDSM Club where adults can get their kink on!!! However, what Golden Angel has written is so much more than that. Entering Stronghold comprises the first three books and a novella from the Stronghold Dom Series. Having never read any of Golden's books before I wasn't sure of what to expect, but what I found were some wonderfully written stories, strong characters and a boxset that I definitely couldn't put down.
The Sassy Submissive told the story of Angel and Adam, two people who meet under somewhat strange circumstances. The attraction is instant, and the chemistry is HOT. Angel was definitely a submissive, however she decided to attend a club as a Domme - just to get to know what a club is like. There she meets Adam, who instantly picks up on the fact that something is "off" about her. The next time they meet is at Stronghold, the club Adam regularly attends, where he finds out that Angel lied about her status. Can Adam get past her lie and discover who Angel really is? I loved these two - they're definitely my favourites.
Taming The Tease is Rick and Maria's story. After moving back to Maryland Rick meets his neighbour Maria, but knowing she is totally naive in regard to BDSM, he tries to stay away from her ... but to no avail. Rick makes some really bad decisions and has to atone for them. Can he redeem himself and turn things around?
On His Knees deals with Liam's proposal to Hilary. This is just a short but well worth the read.
Mastering Lexie is the final book in the boxset and focuses on Patrick and Lexie. Patrick has had his sights set on Lexie for quite a while but won't make a move as she is his best friend's little sister. Lexie, after finally dumping her douche boyfriend, only has eyes for Patrick. Patrick has a lot of issues to work through and his treatment of Lexie is really disappointing. Can he sort himself out before he loses the girl?
A wonderful cast of characters with many laugh out loud moments ... Girl's Night really comes to mind. When it comes to sex ... well let's just say, having a fan close by would be very beneficial. I loved these stories so much that i went and one-clicked the rest of the series.
Definitely a recommended read.

I am a big fan of Gokden Angel.
I really like the whole gang of friends in this series and how each story focuses on a different couple. I don’t think you need to read each one in order but it helps if you do.
Book 1 Adam and Angel I love that Angel is a successful defense teacher and that she is independent. I like how she pushes Adam. I like how Adam is Mr Grouchy and struggles with his feelings for Angel but he gets there in the end. They have lots of hot steamy s3x and it’s fun to read it. I like how she didn’t capitulate to him outside of the club. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Book 2 Maria and Rick. I think is actually quite a realistic story, I can see this happening IRL. There isn’t as much s3x in this story and I feel it’s a bit complex. This story has more meat that book 1 and lots of angst. I like that Maria was overwhelmed by the club on her first visit and how the girls came to support her. Rick really screwed that up! I like how things are a bit of a struggle for them but they get there in the end. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Book 3 Lexi and Patrick Wow there was a ton of drama in this one! I felt like I was reading about a teenager. I guess that fits since Lexi is younger than Patrick and the others, although she has graduated from college. Lexi has adored Patrick, her brother’s best friend, since she was a young girl. Patrick finds himself also intrigued by Lexi but his friendship with her brother, Jake (who is deployed overseas) keeps him from acting on it. Lots of angst in this one, which was a bit tiring by the end but probably pretty accurate IRL. I was happy they got their HEA finally. One of the stand out scenes for me was when Andrew came over to Lexie’s to talk to give her a good talking to. That was key in helping Lexi understand what was going on and I think she finally started to grow up free that.
A fun, steamy box set. I’m off to red the next box set about Stronghold.

Boring 😴and Overly Chatty, Disappointing😒

Like Seinfeld, these are three books📚about NOTHING!
These three novels are about a group of young men who are all friends and all involved in a BDSM club owned by one of them.
The books start out very slowly and are what I consider slow burn romances💕. In the meantime, the characters spend inordinate amounts of time chatting, gossiping, and, doing mostly normal stuff like working. Lots of gossiping.
The problem for me was the books spend too much time on everyday stuff, it seemed like it was done to make the books longer. Padding, if you will.
Even though the men spend weekend nights at the BDSM club, there is very little about their actual activities there, other than sitting around drinking and chatting.
I was disappointed in the three books overall. You might like them if you like soap opera type stories that go on forever without much really happening. Thank goodness I'm a fast reader, or I would have never finished them📚. The books seemed endless and I found myself skipping some pages to get to a meaningful part that actually had something to do with the plot.

Entering Stronghold is the Stronghold Box Set that was my first time reading Golden Angel, and I really enjoyed the majority of the books. It was great to actually read more than one book at a time from a new to me author, as I got to really decide that this talented & addictive author would be added to my list of go to authors. The first book was The Sassy Submissive which was Adam & Angel's story, and it kind of started out with some chaos. See, Angel knew she was a sub, but she went to a club out of her way as a Domme, because she was nervous to go as a sub by herself, and Adam happened to be there that night, and couldn't figure out why he was so attracted to her as he's a Dom. Once she applied to his club, and he learned that she had lied, he wasn't so pleased, so he acted like a total douche. Can he redeem himself? Next up is Taming the Tease, with is Maria & Rick's story. Maria is Rick's neighbor, and has no idea about the BDSM world, so Rick keeps trying to keep distance between them, but when he can't anymore, well, he also makes some douchey decisions which has me ready to hurt him. On His Knees is a novella that highlight's Liam's proposal to Hilary, which is just a bonus, as they are a great cast of secondaries in the other stories. Finally, there's Mastering Lexie, which is Lexie & Patrick's story. He's the owner of Stronghold, and she's his best friend's little sister. This is the story that had me all kinds of enraged. See, I just wasn't down with his issues, and when he went too far for me, I didn't like how everyone treated Lexie. But remember, this is only my opinion.
This Box Set is full of sexy times that are HOT HOT HOT, so hot that they set things on fire HOT. Plus, and this was my favorite part, the humorous moments of girl's nights. Those girls would get into trouble, and I would die laughing until my sides hurt! There was a core cast of secondaries that were amazing, plus, as each book changed couples, the secondaries were added to, which made for more depth, and humor. I simply CANNOT WAIT for the next story, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Box Set to ALL!

Loved it!
I loved the insight into the lives of people who go to BDSM clubs. This is not a favorite genre for me as I know so little about the lifestyle. Now that being said I freaking loved it Golden Angel writing brought to life complex human characters with real life issues beyond the BDSM lifestyle for me and showed me the life of the characters behind the lifestyle.

Three very different stories tied together by the BDSM theme and a tight-knit group of friends who love to poke fun at each other but also offer unconditional support, advice, and encouragement.
1. The Sassy Submissive
I feel like it started out very slow, but it's a satisfying read with fun characters. I'm not a fan of some of the things Adam does outside of Stronghold and how he acts, but I think it's part of the lifestyle because Angel definitely loves it.
2. Taming the Tease
My favorite story and the one that saved this collection. It's equal parts fun and emotional with lots of moments that made me laugh interspersed among the hot and steamy. A very nice balance of character development, smexy, and emotional.
3. Mastering Lexie
It goes a little too into the overly emotional arena for my tastes with how Patrick keeps resisting his feelings for Lexie while she insists on pushing. They both hurt each other rand don't seem interested in paying attention to what the other wants, then they're suddenly in a very intense relationship that takes up their whole time and attention. It's a bit of relationship whiplash that left me feeling like it went from nothing happening to super intense in just a few pages.
Overall, it's not something I feel compelled to get everyone to read, but I don't feel like I wasted my time and I did enjoy parts of all of them.

Every now and then I get in the mood for something different to read, and Entering Stronghold just happened to be the set of stories I picked to dive into. Wow, talk about a really great collection of stories!
Having never read anything by Golden Angel before, I was pleasantly surprised with her style or writing. Sometime BDSM stories are a little much for me, but Golden Angel captured my attention right off with Adam and Angel's story. I enjoyed it being told in dual POVs too. I ended up devouring this story in one afternoon and couldn't wait to start the next story in the set. Turns out, Maria and Rick's story was just as hot and steamy. I knew then that Golden Angel was an author I needed to put on my list of those I needed to read more of.
Golden Angel knows how to capture the reader's full attention and gives them a story that sets the pages on fire. Seriously, the steam factor is unbelievable. My only advice, make sure you have set aside enough time to read because you won't be able to stop after a couple of pages. You'll want to read the entire story at once!

I enjoyed it but there's A LOT of skipping you need to do at a certain point. By book three, even a lot in book two, there are a lot of very boring girls nights scenes, random scenes of people at work, I ended up skimming a lot of it to get to the characters we're meant to be focusing on.The first book is a bit harder to follow because you meet tons of characters and we get a lot of forgettable information about them that's hard to track while the author sets up future books. I was surprised how unlikable I found Angel and Adam, the couple in book one, throughout books two and three when they became background characters. There was a lot of repetition by the end of the third book, reading them back to back like so. How many times can the author possibly say that the club was slower on Thursdays?

This particular book was actually a box set made up of multiple books from Golden Angle. All of them dealing with the Dom/sub dynamic. While I enjoy reading about sex, and let’s not kid ourselves-who doesn’t- some of these stories were lacking an actual storyline! I guess there is such a thing as to much sex when it seems like there is no actual storyline to be found. That being said, that was only prevalent in one book - or maybe I just got used to the style of writing after the first book - whatever the case, the books did get better as I went on and I did enjoy reading this box set!! Still, prepare yourself for sex, sex, and more sex lol. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Some stories are better than others
All have a low stakes plot no stalking or abusive boyfriends. The characters are fine but the least amount of research on diverse cultures was done. The pacing was pretty good except for Lexie and Patrick who honestly were really one note so the story ground to a halt when that note wasn't in play. The writing needs work, another go-through with an editor would find all the pronoun disagreements and wrong words that spell check doesn't find. The world building was pretty good I learned some things which is good.

So much of the conflict was due to lack of communication or misunderstanding. So it was pages full of inner dialogue just to fill pages. I even had to skim some of the sex scenes *gasp!*
Lexie & Patrick are my favorite couple. I did enjoy reading all the friends involved in this group. Definitely should read the Venus Rising Box set before this boxset. One of the most humorous scenes was when the Doms had to suit up in padded suits for the women’s self defense class. Their banter and antics had me laughing out loud.
All in all entertaining. Definitely want to read about the remaining Doms & Domme since I’m now investing lol

So much of the conflict was due to lack of communication or misunderstanding. So it was pages full of inner dialogue just to fill pages. I even had to skim some of the sex scenes *gasp!*
Lexie & Patrick are my favorite couple. I did enjoy reading all the friends involved in this group. Definitely should read the Venus Rising Box set before this boxset. One of the most humorous scenes was when the Doms had to suit up in padded suits for the women’s self defense class. Their banter and antics had me laughing out loud.
All in all entertaining. Definitely want to read about the remaining Doms & Domme since I’m now investing lol

Unbelievably hot and funny!
Starting with The Venus School (Venus Rising Boxset) and continuing with all the Stronghold books you’ll get to meet all the Stronghold friends and their separate love stories. They are all delightful, romantic, terribly funny and hot, hot, hot! A thorough insight to the different aspects of the BDSM lifestyle, based on trust and caring for each other. I just had to read them all, one after the other, couldn’t put them down and had a super wonderful time doing it. I can’t tell you which one I prefer, so I put this review out on all of them.

I more than loved those books !!
3 gripping and unputdownable stories with a lot of deeply felt and strong emotions and situations, characters that have scorching chemistry and riveting dialogues and a looooooot of steam ;)
Can't wait to be able to read the other books !!

If this was only the first 2 books I would have given it 5 stars. But
The first book, Angel and Adam, was really good.
The second book, Rick and Maria, was super hot.

I'll move on to the next book, Leigh and Jarad seems the type to get back to the type of relationship that interests me. I'll skip any future books that center on Patrick and Lexi.

These books deserve 5 stars but I can't give them because of the character naming from this author. There are 2 Matthew's that are discussed repeatedly. Yes , one is usually called Matt, but this can cause unnecessary confusion for the readers. Add to that all the haracters with "J" names and I found it distracting from all 3 stories.

Captivating, well written, great realistic characters, interesting (almost educational) introductions to BDSM. Certainly highly erotic, but focus is on the developing relationships between the couples.

This box set includes the first 3 full length books in the series plus a novella. I really enjoyed these books. Alpha men and how they meet their perfect match in the heroines. A must read for anyone that loves BDSM themed stories.

Great Book !! The characters are amazing - the plot so hot I nearly called the fire department.

There are characters I didn't like at first.wishy washy as I see it .They grew on me. You get invested in the storyline and the sexy becomes not important. I will keep reading her books.

A Trio of Temptation
Three wonderful stories about the Stronghold club and its regulars. The pseudo- (semi?) autobiographical Sassy Submissive is terrific but my favourite has to be Rick and Maria's story. First rate kink and sweet romance all in one.

Wonderful Boxset. All the relationships were intense and new to some characters. The author wrote in a way that actually makes the reader feel they are actually friends with those of the Stronghold. Great fast paced sexy read.

I love this whole series. The characters are top notch and it's so much fun to read about them all. It's like they're a second family. If you get this box set, be prepared to not do anything but read!

The emotional connection between the characters was strong and therefore kept one reading to find out the outcome. The sexual scenes are not for the faint hearted. Worth reading to understand these relationships. A good read
