You Had Me at Hockey
I am a warrior. That’s been my motto since I recovered from a near-death accident when I was younger. Now I enjoy my nice, settled life in Dallas playing pro hockey—a boring life is better than being dead. I’m not a party guy or an adventurer; I like my routine and peace and quiet. S ...more

Sara was such a fun character to write--she's totally NOT like me, and yet...she is. I think a lot of us will relate to her. Can't wait for you all to meet her and Josh!
Josh was a tougher character. He was super rigid with planning everything and freaked when spontaneity ...more
I remember a hockey accident up in Canada awhile ago. So tragic. Kelly makes a story that explains how tragic events can effect people in so many ways.... especially the survivors. It is handled well and tied the hockey into it.
I was really looking forward to this book after finishing Must Love Dogs...and ...more
Josh never thought he would play hockey again after being in a tragic accident years ago but he did all he could to get to back on the ice. Keeping his life as organized and maybe perhaps a little boring made him happy but when he is traded to New York ...more
Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.
I loved You Had Me at Hockey. The entire thing was adorable. Sara was this funny, impulsive, down to Earth chick that made me laugh so hard. She brought out the best in Josh. Josh (of the Heller family for those who have read that series) was this slightly grumpy, uptight hockey player. He lived by his plans and it was fun to see him unravel with Sara by his side. These two had serious chemistry and their ...more
This was a new to me author. I would recommend if you're looking for
-friends to lovers
-a first date that ends in a hospital visit
-so much steam
-a virgin heroine and a grump who was hiding his cinnamon roll goodness

Josh is trying to overcome the traumas of his past but a trade to a team that leads him face to face with that pain has Josh finding companionship in the least likely person! Sara lives here life one crazy moment to the next! She’s not a planner she just takes life as it comes! She ...more
The book "You Had Me at Hockey" had such a cute synopsis and cover. Who doesn't want to read a book that has both sports and a steamy romance?! Not to mention a 'damaged' male character. While this book was a good easy read it didn't do anything for me. I didn't care for either of the main characters Sara and Josh. Sara's character seemed all over the place and Josh's personality didn't seem to mix with hers. I never felt like they made a good couple and their relationship seemed to mo ...more
This is the second book in the series - and you would be aware of the coach crash and its impact on fellow hockey player Easton if you have read it. I would recommend that you do, as it takes a really interesting look at the differences in the experiences that the two men had, and the assumptions that they made. The hockey elements cleverly wound around this problem, and I really liked how it was used to give us insight ...more
I loved every second of this story.
Sarah is fun and quirky. Her raw honesty is inspiring. Sarah could be any of us. Even as she battles her depression, she isn’t afraid to keep reaching out and trying new things. Five years ago Sarah’s depression was so debilitating she left college and moved home. Once she was stable she knew that she could not stay in that world. She took a chance and moved to NYC. Using her Vlog as a way to ...more
This book has some of my favorite things:
🏒Opposites attract romance
🏒Virgin heroine who is “who she is”
🏒Overcoming a past
Sara is a spontaneous, far-from-perfect, social media guru with a lot of fans. Josh is a hot hockey ...more
Josh Heller has been traded from Dallas to the New York Bears and he's not one that likes change or not knowing what is coming down the pike. He's a planner and so having to learn a new team, a new coach and a new city isn't his favorite thing ever, but he's a warrior and he's going to do it. Much of his reluctance with change comes from a near-death experience as a child, which has shaped not only him as a pe ...more

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Josh likes to be able to plan his life. After suffering from a horrific bus accident and having to recover wondering if he would ever play hockey again, Josh knows that if he works hard, plans his life and keeps his nose down that he'll achieve his goals. When he is traded to a new team, he knows that it's part o ...more

I cannot believe how much I enjoyed this book. I fell in love with both Josh, Sara and the others! This was such a nice real romance book. Not too mushy, not too predictable, and lots of steamy scenes ladies 🔥 but above that, it was an emotional experience. I felt as if these characters were my friends.
We follow Josh and Sara. Josh is a professio ...more
Kelly Jamieson knows her hockey, and I was really hankering for some hockey romance, and boom, I was approved to read an advance copy of this book! I had bought and read the first one of course, Must Love Dogs....and Hockey. It was superb, as is the usual from Kellly Jamieson.
You can definitely read this book as a stand-alone, but I think there are ...more
4 1/2 stars
You Had Me at Hockey by Kelly Jamieson, had me at the cover and the story line. I love stories about two people who come together and don't try to change each other. In the beginning of this story we meet Josh who plays hockey for the Dallas Stars but he just found out he's been traded to New York Bears. Josh does not like change and unpredictability because of something that happened to him in his teen years. Within hi ...more
Josh is so uptight and he needs someone like Sara in his life! I was happy when him and Easton finally talked it out! It’s sad what happened to them and I cried just as much in this book than I did in the first! Just like the first book, they talk about the bus crash which reminds me of the 2018 Humboldt Br ...more
