Can a spirited, down-to-earth influencer get an uptight hockey player out of his shell?

I am a warrior. That’s been my motto since I recovered from a near-death accident when I was younger. Now I enjoy my nice, settled life in Dallas playing pro hockey—a boring life is better than being dead. I’m not a party guy or an adventurer; I like my routine and peace and quiet. S

OMG you guys, YOU HAD ME AT HOCKEY is up at NetGalley! For you bloggers who are there, you can go request it. And if you're not there, add it to your Want to Read shelf!

Sara was such a fun character to write--she's totally NOT like me, and yet...she is. I think a lot of us will relate to her. Can't wait for you all to meet her and Josh!

I've never read a book with a character that is a Vlogger, and I really like it. I don't follow any Vlogger's myself but now I want to find one just like Sara. She was super fun, down to earth and wasn't afraid to come off weird. She knew she was weird and she owned it. Actually, I think she was harder on herself the she should have been. Instead of weird, she really just seemed fun and popular.

Josh was a tougher character. He was super rigid with planning everything and freaked when spontaneity

I loved Sara and Josh. I thought her career was so interesting. I wished we knew more of her background. She had such a cool job but lacked a bit of esteem. She's cool. I still enjoyed her personality.

I remember a hockey accident up in Canada awhile ago. So tragic. Kelly makes a story that explains how tragic events can effect people in so many ways.... especially the survivors. It is handled well and tied the hockey into it.

Ever since his near-death experience, Josh had an aversion to spontaneity. He liked to plan things in advance and would rather his life be predictable and boring than filled with unknown surprises. During a podcast interview, Josh met Sara. There were sparks, and the two immediately clicked, but while he planned, she liked to live by the seat of her pants. Will Sara's impromptu ways keep Josh from giving her his heart?

I was really looking forward to this book after finishing Must Love Dogs...and

If you love the sport of hockey and you love romance then look no further because Kelly Jamieson writes both absolutely fantastic. You Had Me At Hockey is Book two in her Bears hockey series and meeting Josh Heller and Sara Carrington was Amazing.
Josh never thought he would play hockey again after being in a tragic accident years ago but he did all he could to get to back on the ice. Keeping his life as organized and maybe perhaps a little boring made him happy but when he is traded to New York

Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.

I loved You Had Me at Hockey. The entire thing was adorable. Sara was this funny, impulsive, down to Earth chick that made me laugh so hard. She brought out the best in Josh. Josh (of the Heller family for those who have read that series) was this slightly grumpy, uptight hockey player. He lived by his plans and it was fun to see him unravel with Sara by his side. These two  had serious chemistry and their

This was a fun book. Laugh out loud at times as the characters are down to earth and while they have issues, they balance each other out so nicely. If you are looking for a little steam, a bit of laughter, and a great romance, look no further :)

-a first date that ends in a hospital visit
-so much steam
-a virgin heroine and a grump who was hiding his cinnamon roll goodness

While maybe a little too graphic for me, the love story was amazing and beautiful. I loved Josh and Sara together and I appreciated the hockey aspect of their relationship. I thought some dialogue like Sara's fan interactions were a little too cliche but overall, I really enjoyed this book.
This one was cute. I liked how Sara and Josh met and how they seemed to have a spark of chemistry right from the start they went with. I liked that Sara was chaos personified, while Josh was give me a routine to follow all the time. Josh had to learn to deal with the chaos that followed around Sara and if he thought about it, most of the time it was fun. You had to give the poetry reading a pass, one bad thing was bound to happen, but even then they found something to laugh about.

The book "You Had Me at Hockey" had such a cute synopsis and cover. Who doesn't want to read a book that has both sports and a steamy romance?! Not to mention a 'damaged' male character. While this book was a good easy read it didn't do anything for me. I didn't care for either of the main characters Sara and Josh. Sara's character seemed all over the place and Josh's personality didn't seem to mix with hers. I never felt like they made a good couple and their relationship seemed to mo

Kelly did it again..I really enjoyed this book, we have some real situations that some people may shy away from or make it unreal or too angsty and we didn't have that here. I liked Sara and I liked that she was real and that she had a mental problem and yet overcame it or more like dealt with it but knew that it could come at anytime, which is true today with many and it could break you or you deal with it. Sara also helped Josh deal with his problems and get him out of his comfort zone and tho ...more

I gave this book three stars based solely on the FMC chapters. It would have been less if not for those. I unfortunately wasn’t a huge fan of this one. I didn’t love Josh. He seemed to have little to no personality for the vast majority of the book. The chemistry and dialogue between the couple was not really there and the steamy scenes were pretty cringy. The POV shifts, which I do tend to be a fan of, were inconsistent tho I realize I read what is an uncorrected ARC. The words “ha ha” were typ ...more

Another great hockey story by Kelly Jamieson! This opposites-attract story is delightful from the very beginning. I love how these two learn from each other how to compromise and be better together. I do wish Josh and Easton could have come together sooner but loved how Lily and Sara brought them together. This is a feel-good must read that you will truly enjoy!
I like this series, but I don't love it as much as I do Kelly Jamieson's other series. This one is tamer. I liked Josh a lot. He seemed to be the hurt but yet sweet. Sara was meh. Just ok. I wished I liked her a little more to make me like their story more.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second book in the series - and you would be aware of the coach crash and its impact on fellow hockey player Easton if you have read it. I would recommend that you do, as it takes a really interesting look at the differences in the experiences that the two men had, and the assumptions that they made. The hockey elements cleverly wound around this problem, and I really liked how it was used to give us insight

This was amazing. This was Enchanting! This felt true and inspired.
I loved every second of this story.
Sarah is fun and quirky. Her raw honesty is inspiring. Sarah could be any of us. Even as she battles her depression, she isn’t afraid to keep reaching out and trying new things. Five years ago Sarah’s depression was so debilitating she left college and moved home. Once she was stable she knew that she could not stay in that world. She took a chance and moved to NYC. Using her Vlog as a way to

This is what I call an ALMOST 5-star read. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish - Jamieson always writes great sports romances, and this features interesting, compelling characters. The overall tone is sweet, mellow, and laidback, but still very steamy, and it's light enough to devour in one sitting with a smile on your face. Really, the only thing it's lacking is the love. It just doesn't have those moments where you feel like this couple considers themselves anything but casual. So I w ...more

What an emotionally wonderful read! You Had Me at Hockey, by one of my top hockey romance writers, Kelly Jamieson, will give you ALL the feels. It was a total emotional roller coaster ride...but in the absolute best way.

This book has some of my favorite things:

🏒Hockey players
🏒Opposites attract romance
🏒Virgin heroine who is “who she is”
🏒Overcoming a past

Sara is a spontaneous, far-from-perfect, social media guru with a lot of fans. Josh is a hot hockey

Whenever I get my hands on a new Kelly Jamieson book, I should know better than to try and get anything done that day. Sara is an influencer with a very popular YouTube channel and a Podcast. She tries not to show things as shiny and perfect - but as real, open, honest, funky, and silly. She's been almost entirely focused on her job for the last six years. Her publicist sets up an interview with Josh Heller, new team member of the New York Bears, and she and Josh really hit it off. Josh is a mem ...more

You Had Me at Hockey is another great addition to Kelly Jamieson's Bears Hockey series!

Josh Heller has been traded from Dallas to the New York Bears and he's not one that likes change or not knowing what is coming down the pike. He's a planner and so having to learn a new team, a new coach and a new city isn't his favorite thing ever, but he's a warrior and he's going to do it. Much of his reluctance with change comes from a near-death experience as a child, which has shaped not only him as a pe

Josh likes to be able to plan his life. Since I was a kid, I’ve always played hockey. When I was sixteen, I played in a traveling league in Canada. On our way from a game, the bus we were traveling in had a horrific accident. We lost half of our team. I had so many injuries that I was in the hospital for months and then in rehab for several more. I never thought I would play again, but with a lot of hard work, I made it back. The last few years I’ve been playing in Dallas, when suddenly I’m traded to New York. I’m a creature of habit, ...more

I cannot believe how much I enjoyed this book. I fell in love with both Josh, Sara and the others! This was such a nice real romance book. Not too mushy, not too predictable, and lots of steamy scenes ladies 🔥 but above that, it was an emotional experience. I felt as if these characters were my friends.

You Had Me at Hockey is the second book in Kelly Jamieson’s Bear’s Hockey series, about new Bears player, Josh Heller, and vlogger, Sara Carrington.

Kelly Jamieson knows her hockey, and I was really hankering for some hockey romance, and boom, I was approved to read an advance copy of this book! I had bought and read the first one of course, Must Love Dogs....and Hockey. It was superb, as is the usual from Kellly Jamieson.

You Had Me at Hockey by Kelly Jamieson, had me at the cover and the story line. I love stories about two people who come together and don't try to change each other. In the beginning of this story we meet Josh who plays hockey for the Dallas Stars but he just found out he's been traded to New York Bears. Josh does not like change and unpredictability because of something that happened to him in his teen years. Within hi

This was an adorable and fun book! Sara’s personality was EVERYTHING! I mean, this girl is hilarious and so down to earth! How could Josh not open up to her and start to become himself again!

Josh is so uptight and he needs someone like Sara in his life! I was happy when him and Easton finally talked it out! It’s sad what happened to them and I cried just as much in this book than I did in the first! Just like the first book, they talk about the bus crash which reminds me of the 2018 Humboldt Br

This is the second installment to Kelly Jamieson's Bears Hockey series and showcases one of the things that makes her a fantastic author- great characters. I loved Sara. She's a social media influencer and she gets the opportunity to interview Josh, a hockey player who was just traded to the Bears. She's the total opposite to him- totally open to new experiences, a bit wacky and fun and oh so sweet. She defines spontaneity. Josh is, well, not.
