Chelsea Moon has had better days. Weeks. Months. Years.
When real life gets too hard Chelsea decides to fly back to Pendle Island, a place she has not been since she was born. She’s looking forward to a vacation, but when she arrives, she’s quickly thrown into mayhem. Her Great Aunt Griselda has died, and Chelsea is needed at the funeral.
With a curse to run from, a murder to solve, and a needy cat to please, Chelsea finds her plate fills up very quickly. There’s also the small matter of avoiding death and learning magic, but that’s easy enough. Right?
This three book omnibus includes books 1-3 of the Wicked Witches of Pendle Island Series. Included are: As Witch Would Have It, A Witch Before the Storm, and Witch Things Come in Threes.
Mara Webb graduated from a child with a vivid imagination and a love of all things magic, to a professional writer. Mara writes cozy mysteries with a paranormal twist, and delights in concocting new and unusual ways to murder characters in her books.
Gonad? One if the many words that were misused or misspelled. The stories were great. There are hundreds of people (like me) who would be willing to proofread books for free. There should not be so many errors.
A dynamic set of witch & wizard mysteries. Chelsea Moon, a.k.a. Chelsea Sponks, returns to Pendle Island for the first time since she was a baby. Once there, events conspire to turn her into a witch and an investigator. Each title focuses on a different death and her growing abilities.
The series develops increasing interest as the tales unfold. Overall, the series looks quite fascinating.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
Witches, Warlocks, murdervand of course a a Policeman.
Intriguing story. In trying to keep, OUT of murders, Chelsea finds herself yet again involved in a real puzzle of the murder of Frank Nash. Lots of characters who COULD have committed a murder, but nothing quite fits. Good story , I enjoyed it and recommend this.
I liked the way the author went off the beaten path of most cute witchy books. She gave me new and different details about how her world of magic works. This passage gave me a special moment of word play. “I slammed my palm against the amethyst pendant around my neck and the black cat disappeared into the necklace like a sock into a Hoover.” 😂
I was really sad to come to the end. What a fine imagination, and great solutions to the mysteries, too. I loved every minute I spent reading these three stories!
I thoroughly enjoyed these three books in the series, Chelsea returns home after many years away to find out she's a witch with a penchant for sleuthing. These mysteries are well thought out with humour and attention to detail. Great read
I have not stayed up way past my bedtime reading in a long time, until I started this series. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series and by Mara Webb.
