I purchased The Big Book of Football for our friends’ son, who is a football fan. I literally had no specific expectations and to be honest, I could not be really bothered to have any – it was in the middle of Christmas craziness and as long as there was football mentioned on the cover and illustrations looked pretty cool, I was happy.
And then, out of the blue, a true Christmas miracle happened – I fell in love with the book about football! I totally did and now I am planning to get one for myself. Not for my son or husband – for myself!
The Big Book of Football is a beautifully illustrated compendium of information for all football fans (but as you can see, not only). This book entails all you need or want to know about the most popular game in the world - its history, people but not only that - it also features a huge range of varieties such as the evolution of football shoes and balls, famous haircuts, chants, stadiums and trophies. All that provided attractively, with light and effortless humour. If you ask me, I don’t think I will spend much time trying to solve the tactics – I have just fallen in love with the illustrations and the nostalgic vibe the book brings.
Book is stylishly published with nice quality print and paper, hardcover and old school-inspired colour palette. The illustrations and visual aspects are colossal strength of the album, nevertheless, the information and the humour will certainly resonate with anyone loving the ball!
