Almost twenty years after the barrier between Earth and the Otherworld fell in the Fae Wars, Budapest is balancing on the precipice. A battle for dominance is brewing between the elite fae and the privileged humans in Eastern Europe. The prejudice between the sides is bubbling with hate and violence.
Nineteen-year-old human, Brexley, has grown up in privilege, but not with

I don’t know if I liked this or not. A lot of things bugged me so much:

The girl is so amazing it makes every other girl feel like they are doing it wrong. Doing what wrong? Everything. (Spoiler alert: she’s not that great actually and I have no idea why everybody wants to get in her pants so badly). I don’t feel any connection with The Queen of Everything so I’m kind of hoping she’ll wander off somewhere and we’ll never hear about her again. A few of the side characters are so much more interest

Holy shit, this was bad.

I get that this was independently published, and that is noticeable. I now understand how much work goes in from the publishers side to polish the book before being released into the public.

Because this writing needs more work. It lacks the flow you should find in a book, it’s more like boxes with text stacked on top of each other. Much of the information is just crammed in there, but could’ve been placed literally anywhere in the book and it wouldn’t have made a differ

God, I'm so happy I waited until the second book comes out... Because that was one hell of a cliffhanger.

Again... I'm sensing a pattern here with this type of cliffhanger in fantasy/UF books. They just can't help themselves, can they?

Anyhow, I love it! I love the world building, and the fact that it sets in Budapest. It got fae, demons and siren etc. AND a hot sexy grouchy hero that may or may not look like Jason Momoa. Granted, the story didn't actually begun until the 25%, so it was slow. But

NO. What the crap was that!?!?! I neeeeeed more. Holy frack. My heart is beating out of my chest. This book was utterly amazing. I love Brex and Warwick. That ending was straight up savage. SAVAGE. Ugh...I’m gonna have a book hangover for dayssssss

What a ride! This book was amazing! I loved the rush, slow burn and everything!
It’s worth the reading!

Brexley :
I'm not like the other girls.

Me :

This heroine is simply OBNOXIOUS.
A really bad case of Special Snowflake Syndrome .
Brexley is portrait like the most beautiful, intelligent, skilled and charming person in the room and everyone, men/women/all species, is drawn to/want to bang her. The problem is there's really nothing likable about her and all the bragging about her perfection simply made me hate her and lose interest in the story.
Pity..writing/world building/plot were

Trigger warnings:

Spicy scale:
Zero, but the sexual tension? Lawd have Murphy👴🏼-

Let’s get right to the point; There was a slight info dump at the beginning, which wasn’t encouraging as I was trying to get back into these kinds of books again.

It was predictable, one of the reasons I don’t really read these types of book anymore.

It took a while before the story actually started, and the main characters didn’t meet till 30% in…

"I was past hunger, past exhaustion, past sanity. They wanted to rip the humanity out of me? I hoped they were ready for what they asked for."

I was def not ready for this read!

I don't know what exactly I was expecting- but I got a gritty, dark, dangerous, devastating story with some serious sexual lust/hate going on between the mains. Some very interesting world building with a dystopian society set in Budapest with all manner of creatures.

We have humans, fae, demons, and shifters

Stacey is back to PNR in a wonderful style. If you know her work, then you know what to expect. If you don't, there's your chance to discover her world. There's a connection to her previous PNR series, but you don't need to know them, to enjoy this one.

This book is non stop action and adventure. We are introduced to cruel, dark and savage life in the most infamous prison in Budapest, which is full of different residents: fae, demons, humans...

Oh wow Stacey has done it again and outdone herself. If like me you are a huge fan of her Darkness and Lightness series then you will absolutely LOVE this one. I was on the edge of my seat with this one, did not want to put it down or go to bed.....who needs sleep right?

Stacey has brought us one hell of a gripping storyline, that mixed with characters you will either love or hate but you will enjoy every single word. Brexley is one strong as hell heroine, she been sent into hell when shes captur

Well, that was unexpected….

Sooo, how much longer until the next book comes out??

Cause that...yeah...mmmmmm….

Okay, so a cliffy wasn’t unexpected, but still, that was all kinds of WOW, even after all the crazy that came before it….

And speaking of the crazy that came before….I’m fascinated by Brexley, I’m not thoroughly in love with the girl, I don’t not like her, so I’m going with fascinated for the time being. There is a strength to her that I admire but her impetuousness is a bl

She's Back with a Bang

Holy moly! Brown is back and delivering PNR with such intense ferocity, no one does it like she does! This book was intense, angsty, gritty and full of WTF moments. I absolutely devoured this book, it was captivating from the very beginning. The writing was fast paced and witty, especially concerning Opie and Bitzy. Though, I love all of Brown's books, PNR is her soul. Do not skip this book/series.

I absolutely love this series. It hits all my buttons. I highly recommended it. You can read this series alone, but I would read her other series in order first. They contain some of the same characters and are based in the same world. This series is so amazing I'm going back to the beginning starting with the Darkness series, Collector series then the Lightness Saga. 16 book's in all but I'm hooked. 💕 Thank You Stacey Marie Brown for sharing these books. ...more

Stacey Marie Brown’s Savage Lands (Savage Lands #1) is a thrilling and creative new series. It is almost twenty years after the Fae Wars. Human Brexley Kovacs is imprisoned at Halalhaz, the House of Death, the Fae prison that no one ever returns from. There she is entered into a game that is a fight to the death.

I love Stacey Marie Brown’s books. I was excited about this new series. My parents were both born in Hungary, so I appreciated that the story took place there. SAVAGE LANDS is an incredi

Like going home!

Stacey Marie Brown marched right back into PNR like she never left. I felt right at home in the new world she created & immediately took to Brexley. The ending was done in true SMB fashion, leaving me confused, shredded, 100% hooked, & absolutely dying for the next book.

An unbelievable fantasy story that has you immersed in the story. Trouble is brewing in the Fae world. Will everything be alright. I couldn’t stop reading to find out.

Wow, the last 30-40% really made up for the first half of the book. The story dragged on for a good while and it’s not until around 60% where Warwick and Brexley finally have some exciting scenes together.

Before that, their encounters were pretty sparse. It also took a while until they met, which is something I personally don’t like. If it were up to me I’d put the main couple together right from the start or at least as soon as possible, to let the characters have as many scenes and in

I can tell you this is one of the best well written books I have ever read. Outstanding work! Just WOW!

Stacey blew this one out of the water. Savage Lands was intense, sexy, and one exciting adventure that has stayed with me for months. Sometimes you read a book and you are stunned by what you just read and how someone can come up with such master mind works. Stacey's writing in Savage Lands is out of this world. The story telling, world and character building is something I have never seen befo

Stacey Marie Brown delivers a 6 star book with Savage Lands. This story refused to let me go even after I read the last page. Stellar plot lines and characters, along with incredible world building make Savage Lands THE PNR book to read this year!

Stacey Marie Brown's Collector Series is one of my all time favourites... So, lo and behold my absolute delight when I stumbled across a review of this book on a Facebook group that I'm on, and realised that SMB had released a new book!

This was a fabulously dark and gritty tale of survival, and let me make it clear- this book is dark. Brexley had to fight tooth and nail for her right to survive, in conditions that would kill most. Although the dark tone to the book might not be for all, I loved

We became the depraved"

WOW. Such an enthralling read, it started out a bit slow initially but as the main story began it sucks you right into it like a black hole with you not wanting to leave until you see the end of it. I was pretty much geared up to end it in one reading unfortunately r

Wow! This is a terrific fantasy story. Outstanding world building with spectacular characters in the human girl Brexley, trained to be a warrior, and Warwick aka Wolf, the ghost in both worlds. The veil is broken, the Fae War is over, and Budapest is torn. The humans are on one side of the river, the fae on the other, and the unfortunate, half-breeds, and criminals inhabit the Savage Lands. This opens with Bree and her bestie and crush Caden training as fighters in the silent war against the fae ...more

I finished Savage Lands a few days ago and I CANNOT STOP thinking about this book, these characters, this world! Stacey is back slaying the paranormal romance genre in Savage Lands. Taking place in Budapest, 20 years after the barrier between Earth and the Otherworld fell in the Fae Wars. Brexley is a 19 year old (badass) human who is always looking for a thrill. This thrill seeking eventually leads her to Halalhaz a.k.a the House of Death. A prison where both humans and Fae are housed, includin

One of the best book I've read in awhie.
The writing was on point, the mythology and universe really well thought, I can't wait to get to know more about this world.
The heroine Brexley was really something else, she was confident, strong, touching, annoying sometimes and she's been through so much, I really want to see her evolve and realize the priviledge world she grow up in is just an illusion, she still so naive.
Warwick! A motherfucking Alpha, a real one, the chemistry between him and brex wa

I’m not sure why I went in to this book thinking it was a stand alone. On one hand I’m really glad it’s wasn’t because I’m really liking Brexley and Warwick and on the other hand I would really have preferred a happy ending over a cliffhanger. I’m a huge fan of this author’s PNR books. My frustration had me wanting to give this book a lower rating but I’d be lying cuz I’m totally invested now in this couple and seriously need more. The sexual tension between them is off the charts!

Fantastic fast ride into another dystopian world.
Love the characters and the way this story played out.
Really really left me wanting more.
Can’t wait for book 2 . I’m hoping it’s not far behind this one.
