From the feisty and fabulous “Joan Rivers of the pet influencer community” (Paper Magazine), beloved social media star and canine fashion icon Izzy the Frenchie wittily explains why it’s so important we all wear face masks to battle COVID-19.
French bulldog and doggy celebrity Izzy loves going out and about just like the rest of us, but she also knows how important it is to be stylish and safe. In Wear the Damn Mask, the four-legged “sassy fashion lover” (Vogue) shows how you can effortlessly be both.
Featuring endearing and funny photos of Izzy accompanied by cheeky words of wisdom on when to wear your mask and how to properly social distance, Wear the Damn Mask is a laugh-out-loud, clever read that will help prevent COVID-19 from literally going to the dogs.
Have you heard of @izzythe.frenchie, one of Instagram’s most beloved pet influencers?
As some of you know, my dad was diagnosed with Covid-19 back in October (he is still recovering- battling lethargy and working hard to regain strength and vitality). I’m grateful for this opportunity to share this clever book. Izzy’s message is delivered in a witty and fun way, showing when you would and wouldn't wear a mask, and the pictures are colorful and just plain adorable.
I received a gifted copy. All opinions are my own.
Celebrity french bulldog Izzy shows us the importance of wearing a mask during the Covid-19 pandemic. A whimsical, light touch to a serious subject helps get the message across in a fun way. There are adorable pictures of Izzy in different situations as she determines when and when not to mask up. You can't help but smile and giggle as you follow along with Izzy. A delightful and amusing read for all ages. Thank you Gallery Books for the gifted review copy.
I’ll have to add one more book to my yearly challenge since this was such a short one, but it’s worth mentioning. I saw this on Goodreads one day and ordered it right away for two reasons. 1. My daughter’s name is Izzy. 2. I thought it would be a great way to remember this time many years down the road.
It doesn’t disappoint. Super cute photographs of Izzy telling you/showing when you should wear your mask and when you are in the clear. Even a mention of the “Karen’s” of the world.
We could all use a little bit of humor, so if you are a dog lover, this might be the perfect coffee table book for you. :)
So happy to get this book from Goodreads! Sometimes, just more often now, it's hard to laugh. Izzy the Frenchie (Whoopi Goldberg's granddaughter dog in law) helps put things into a lighter vein of when and where to wear the DamnMask!! Izzy, always the fashion maven, is photographed in various situations where wearing a mask is necessary.. and also when not. It is delightful, brilliant!! WHO WILL I GIFT THIS BOOK TO? Well, I will gift it to children, and also read it to them... because I am more offended by the NakedNonMaskers and Booger Breathers than the word damn. I will give it to those NakedNonMaskers and Booger Breathers as a sign that we can share this planet safely , I will give it to Animal Rescue friends but I am keeping my own copy because it helps me feel better ! The only way it could be better would be to have Izzy autograph it... o.k., Whoopi too would help me too
I am so glad I won this good reads give away. This humorous book is a must for everyone's book shelf. I need Izzy the Frenchie to launch a whole series for all the Karen's of the world. This comical picture book (not children's book though it might be still good for older children and preteens) takes readers through a list of places where and where not wear a mask. It is simple but still funny. Hopefully this isn't the need for Izzy the Frenchie in the world of picture books.
A coffee table book, for all those guest who can't visit you during all of this pandemic stuff. A cute little Frenchie following the restrictions/ rules better than some folks do. Although you're guest will probably never see it, since visits are off. Maybe you will enjoy it just the same. Books like these are meant to be shared....somehow? So once you're done enjoying it, disinfect it and mail it to a friend.
In deciding who the audience is meant to be for this, I think it's meant for those that already follow Izzy on social media. As a non-follower, I don't know if this would be a good kids book... It was cute. Just okay for me. #goodreadsgiveaway
Cute enough that I took it out from the library, and anything to get the message out, but I'm not familiar with the whole Izzy thing from social media, so it wasn't that exciting.
Accompanying the text are gorgeous full color photos of Izzy in different costumes and settings. They tend to be warm colors and very saturated. The various photographers are credited in the afterword.
