"If I offered you some advice, would you take it?"

Sloane Williams is shocked to hear those words coming out of her boss's mouth. She's been wanting to move up the ladder at Billingsley-Davis for years but as the only black woman on her team, she's pretty out of the loop when it comes to office goings-on. And while her boss, Keith McNair, is skinfolk, he doesn't seem to kno

The vibes were severely off and multiple “me too” jokes in an office romance is a no from me dawg
After reading a few other Shae Sanders books, I thought I would give this series a try. The entire series takes place at a company in Texas. This first installment focuses on Keith and Sloane. Keith is Sloane’s boss and while she finds him attractive, she thinks that he's a little white-washed. It isn't until a day spent after work that Sloane begins to get to know the real Keith. I don't want to say too much about the character development of this book because it's part of the allure of the rea ...more
It was cute. I was stressed that they were going to get caught having a relationship and it would cause a problem with their job, but that never happened. 😆 Good workplace novella.

When I finished Take It, I was ready to pack my bags, move to Summerville, and apply for a position at Billingsley-Davis. I enjoyed every last second of this book. It was full of comedy and it sheds a light on what it’s like to be black in corporate America. The office romance aspect is what interested me but, the sex scenes were definitely a bonus. Whew chile! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Keith and Sloan were the couple you aspire to be professionally and personally. They had their shyt together and was getting it in ...more

I enjoyed every last second of this book. I was looking for a nasty workplace romance and babyyyy this hit the nasty mark and then some. Sloan Williams has a thing for her boss Keith McNair. With his sweater vests and ties, he is one of the only Black Executives in the company and he is SEXY! Keith McNair played his role well by carrying himself in a way that ensured his success, but it wasn't who he really was. Everything changed the night Sloane volunteered to work after hours. She was hit by ...more

I’m not a fan of this ending! :( I’m happy for their growth but ugh HFN isn’t enough lol. Cash and Dre were a vibe and I’m so happy that them being together wasn’t time wasted but was for something bigger. I really enjoyed this short and can’t wait to read a follow up on this couple down the road! Definitely recommend this book!

Sloane Ɛ Keith

Loved it. The whole sneaking around the office thing...loved it. Sloane was hilarious. She could take it as well as she could dish it out. And Keith.... the moment that "corporate exterior" was shedded, it was over. I only wished this was full length, but I loved it.

A quick, fun romance with relatable characters that is perfect for when you are in a reading slump.
Shae Sanders uses Take It to talk about more serious issues, like the internalised racism especially in the business world, as well which I rather enjoyed.
Some other parts I liked less, however, for example rubbed me a couple of scenes in the end the wrong way and I am no fan of the Me Too jokes.
The smut, on the other hand, was written well.

Overall, good but nothing special.

Workplace Romance

This was a light, fun read, full of steamy sex scenes and workplace flirtation. Definitely beach read worthy!

I would recommend this series to fans of "Skyscraper" by Zane.

Keith Sweat ain’t got nothin on Keith McNair

Take it ( On the Clock book 1) by Shae Sanders is about Sloane Williams and her boss Keith McNair. This is a workplace romance. This is a novella, so it’s shorter in length but it sure does pack a punch! This blurb from the book “Corniest Black man this side of Hawaiian shirt era Russell Wilson” caught my attention! Keith is the ultimate code switcher, Sloane certainly learned the difference between Keith & Mr. McNair. In between navigating the corpora

This was my first read by Shea Sanders and when I tell you....I was doubled over laughing in the beginning....I am not exaggerating. This book is sexy and hilarious. Keith went from Steve Urkell to Stefan and both me and Sloane were confused and shocked all at once. Sloane had always thought that Keith was sexy, in a corny nerdy sense, from the moment she started working for him. It wasn't until she and a coworker were asked to work on a budget project, with Angie, the coworker needing to leave ...more

A great quick read that is entertaining and gives you a glimpse of what its like to be melanated and wanting to advance in corporate. Keith made his place asap executive and wanted to help Sloan reach her potential i the company even though he was extremely attracted to her.

Sloane is fantasizing about her boss, but she thinks he’s corny and “Carlton Banksesque” So when he calls her into his office, she’s running through her mind what she could have done wrong. Someone has complained about the way she dresses. It’s not sexy, it’s very professional, so who’s out to get her? Keith McNair assures her with confidence that she looks absolutely professional and even gives her a heads up about a promotion. Sloane is shocked. He hasn’t looked at her more than he’s had to, s ...more

I really need to find Summerville, and check the openings at Billingsley-Davis, cuz this company got it going on! 😂 Sloane, having wild thoughts about her buttoned up boss, all comes to a head. Mr. McNair, the lone black executive of the company, behaved the way we all know that he had to, to succeed. But, that was not "who" he was at all. Sloane, stayed after work to assist him with a project, and finds out he is nothing like she "assumed" he was. He had straight swagger, and blew her mind! Sh ...more

Take it all

Oh Wow! That was super hottt, with all the t's at the end😏. I like that Sloane wanted a friend she could confide in, yet once Angela kind of dismissed her for that job, my eyes would've been wide open.

Mr. Keith McNair can get all the business. And that office scene, the 3rd one😉, was too hot for tv. Dang near too hot for this book😜. I like how he wanted to actually date Sloane and not just be screw buddies. He was really feeling her.

This was my first Shae Sanders book, yet it WILL N

Oh. My. The sex scenes in this book were steamy. Not going to lie… office sex is an absolute fantasy of mine and this book catered very well to that fantasy. The light banter about the Me Too movement didn’t bother me. Honestly, that is something a man probably would say in real life. So it adds an element of realism to the book. The story also touches a little on black women and moving up the corporate ladder in as well as some of the code switching that might be necessary to get ahead as a bla ...more

Such a Refreshing Workplace Romance (Plus)

Sloane and Keith are real as well as ridiculous. It’s a novella, also it moves fast, but also gets grounded in real talk, real situations, and real responses… if by “real,” meaning “banter familiar to recognizable personalities from a real Black person’s life lived in corporate America.”

It’s also super-steamy, the characters are willing to take risks, and so is the author. Looking forward to more of this format (quickie/ steamy novellas featuring what th

**Clutches my pearls** THIS WAS IT!!! Sloane thought her boss Keith, Mr. McNair if you nasty was just her boss, pretty nerdy, pretty quiet and though she thought he was sexy, she knew he never even noticed her. Cut to the night where they have to stay at work late one night and LORDDDD when Keith comes out of boss mode and lets his nerdy façade go and lets Sloane know that he indeed HAS been noticing her but was trying to keep it professional .....all I can say is never judge a book by its cover ...more

Fun Story!

I LOVED this book!!!! This was such a fun story! I love that Keith and Sloane had this simmering chemistry for months, because when the opportunity finally came up, whew, it was 🔥🔥🔥HOT! I have also been in corporate America my entire adult life so I could relate to a lot of the workplace stuff. Sloane and Keith were so cute together, I really enjoyed this story! Can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

My first read by this author and I really enjoyed it. Very well written short, fun read. Although the book touched on the topic of racial inequality in the workplace I liked the chemistry between Keith and Sloane. Professional workers by day but once the shift ended they definitely got hot and freaky in the office at night. Can't wait to read what the employees of Billingsley-Davis are up to next.

Short Hot & Sexy!

Loved this! The chemistry between Sloane and Keith was fire, but what you see is NOT always what you get. That’s true for the bedroom and the boardroom. Having worked in Corporate America for over 20 years, there was so much truth to what Keith laid out. Unfortunately, like Sloane, many of us have our blinders until we are schooled either through someone helping us or the hard way. Excellent read!
Sexy, spicy and steamy quick read is exactly what I needed. This erotic novella was perfect in every way. Even though this is a quick read, the plot and characters seemed real and developed to me. I identified with Sloane and I loved the game that Keith played. I loved how he saw her and fought for her to get promoted. I am definitely moving on to the next book in this series. Shae Sanders you know what you’re doing!

Short novella cute I liked it. It’s funny how sloane had this fantasy of Keith and she would just call him a “waste” which was comical to me. In reality Keith was her fantasy and more. I loved that we were about to see Sloane’s work experience as a black woman in corporate America . Not sure if Keith and Sloane relationship is solid due to it being based on lust and us just being told a brief summary on the dynamic of their relationship.

Shae Sanders took me through all the feels of a good romance in less than seventy pages and I am impressed! You get the build-up, the hot as hell coming together, the doubt and possible fall, the push-through, and the happily ever after. It was a good read kept my attention from beginning to end. I liked the chemistry between Sloane and Keith. The job situation actually happens in real time on how certain people are looked over no matter the talent they have. It was good to see this touched on in this book. I would recommend this short sweet romance to anyone who loves a good story.
