They say it’s best to bury your past, but for one misguided grave robber – the past is an obsession. When Althea Rose learns that a grave robber has infiltrated Tequila Key, she does her best to pretend she’s not interested. No, she doesn’t want to hear more details. And she most certainly does not want to help Chief Thomas track down the industrious body thief. Only when one comes knocking at her door in the middle of the night – a corpse, that is – does Althea realize she’ll need to get a little help from her friends to rid her garden of otherworldly pests.
Banding together to track down the grave robber, the crew must work their most intricate spells yet. The only question is – will Rafe survive their magick?

I have read the entire Tequila Key series and although I have enjoyed it, I find myself getting supremely irritated with Althea’s “Oops, my bad” attitude. I keep picturing Steve Urkel saying, “Did I do that?” It’s annoying.
I find it very contradictory that she says she considers herself ethical and professional as a psychic but then turns around and continually causes chaos because of her inability to focus, and stay focused, when spells are involved. I’m not sure whom I’m more annoyed with. Althea for CONSTANTLY trying to break the circle or Luna and Miss Elva for CONSTANTLY bringing her in to the circle in the first place.
I hope Althea can start to get her act together. She is the friend that you bail out time after time until you realize that they are never going to take responsibility for their life while you are there to bail them out.
Another great visit with Althea and gang mixed with a possible zombie invasion! Witty dialogue, fun characters and an explosive ending have you sitting at the edge of your seat and waiting for the next book! Added bonus that the book is available via audio and the narrator does an outstanding job of bringing the characters to life.
It’s always great to “see” the past characters and the dynamics between the characters are awesome and so very funny! The story line was excellent and hard to put down! I laughed so hard at some of the banter.
Seven Deadly Tequilas has Althea, Luna and Miss Elva searching for whoever is robbing graves and unleashing reanimated bodies in Tequila Bay. It is a fun read as her friends continue to try to bring Althea’s magick skills to a higher level...not always with the desired outcome. I appreciate that Tricia O’Malley is able to advance her story using clever dialogue, giving readers a great understanding of the characters’ different personalities and perspectives. Fans of the series will love this installment. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
Disappointed in the redundancy of retelling the reader about Althea's life and all the other character's lives. It's not like a reader is going to start reading a series with the 8th book. I was so tired of Althea's childish, whiney behavior. By the 8th book, she should have grown up and acted like an adult. I was done with Rafe the pirate ghost. The banter between him and Althea's was beyond boring. I'm finished with her inability to choose either Cash or Trace. She continues to use and hurt them both over and over. The only good part of the book was learning more about the magikal world of white witches.
Hands down, my least favorite book (so far) in this series. Althea’s attitude toward magick and her inability/refusal to focus while in the circle is beginning to tick me off; and I’m a little salty at Miss Elva and Luna for continuing to include her in rituals when she’s clearly not taking them seriously. (I also find the disconnect between her insistence that she’s an ethical practitioner of tarot and her casual attitude toward her magick irritating.)
All in all, this really felt like a “contract book” to me. I sincerely hope the next is better.
Althea Rose lives in Tequila Quays in Florida and makes a living by doing tarot readings. You see, Althea is magical, she can see and speak to the dead. Abbas her own shop which she co owns with her best friend Luna who is a witch. There is also Miss Elva an amazing character who is a teacher and guide for Althea. Trouble of the magical kind always seems to find Althea and she is busy coming to terms with the changes in her life after she finds out she is something of a witch herself, but one with no training and no clue as to what she is doing. Luna and Miss Elva are on hand to help and try to steer her in the right direction but with Althea enthusiasm and good intentions only to so far. Something always seems to go wrong when she gets to try using magic, usually with disastrous results. This book sees the three ladies dealing with a spate of grave robberies in town. Someone is digging up graves and stealing the corpses, what for the ladies have no idea. But whoever is robbing the graves is getting bolder so they need to work it out, quickly. Love the characters in these books also enjoy the rich vein of humour that runs through them as well.
This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery/urban fantasy series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Althea Rose is a psychic/witch who owns with her best friend Luna a tarot/potions shop in a little town called tequila key in the Florida Keys. She thought she was only psychic but recently found out that she also has powers of a witch. Her friend Luna is a white witch and they own a small shop together. They also have a knack of being smack dab in the middle of every weird crime and murder going on in the area. One way or the other they’re going to be involved in finding out who done it or someone thinking they did it. They also have a neighbor who is a voodoo queen who happens to be tagging along most of the time. Redone and enjoy the adventure.
This is ebook 7 on this series and it was as brilliant as all the previous ones. This time the girls were fighting zombies not zombies. Althea continued divided between her 2 men and still messing up her magick big time (is she an idiot? Incapable of following the smallest instruction?) and this time she’s sent Ralph back 😲😲😲 Shocker! But he has been a royal pain in the ass so maybe it’s a good thing he’s gone. But Althea get a grip! You’re a green ass woman start acting like one! The book ended on Ralph’s disappearance (I hate cliffhangers) luckily the next book is coming out in August so only about 2 months to go…. This is a fun series and always a very enjoyable read. As always, a fabulous cover design.
I like this author but this is not my favourite series not sure if it's just me im a huge romantic and not into RH or on off relationships, taking a break so we can sleep with others the push and pull theme. I love the main storyline of the series and her friends are great characters.but the trace one minute cash the next is getting very old.she even says there is no future with cash not compatible outside of chemistry.claims to love trace so what it comes across childish to me. Plus where is the parents? If your child has a gun to her head you would want to see her? This is book 7 and they have had not one cameo.
The trend of her own friends treating her like a screw up is grating on my last nerve. Her hair, her clothes, her dating... They're negative more often than positive. I'm also tired of the MC not having enough growth by now to learn basic spell safety. If these trends continue, I'm not likely to continue reading this series... And Miss Alva was cool at first but now she's starting to become an annoying diva who's expectations for a novice magic user are unrealistic. She has the attitude of I never no anything wrong, I never have to apologize...
Poor Althea, she just can't catch a break. A body-robbing, grave robber, um, no thanks. I felt for her and what she had to go through. Honestly, I feel like this was the cusp of a new arch for Althea. Both magically and romanticly. Maybe, just maybe Althea is growing up a little. I do fear what consequences she is going to face after the ending. Yikes, I would not want to be her right now.
Althea and the gang are back with another thrilling mystery! It is always a treat to visit Tequila Key where you never know what's going to happen next, but it is guaranteed that it will involve a murder or two! Althea and her friends find themselves in the middle of a grave robbing mystery and worse than that, dead bodies are traipsing through the town!! Will Althea solve the mystery before Tequila Key is over run with the walking dead!? You'll have to read to find out. 😁
I’ve read the entire series. The first few were fun! As the series progressed I was getting very annoyed with Althea’s whiny attitude. She is beginning to become a weak character especially over men!! For God’s sake stop whining! Also her lack of interest in her magic is getting annoying! Sorry ; I loved the Mystic Cove series! Strong woman! This series would have kept my interest more if she engaged more!
I think this one has convinced me to stop the series. I can't keep going with a fmc that continues to do really stupid stuff after a period of time when she should at least have part of her #$%^ together. She walked out of the circle twice in less than a few days. It would have been more if Miss Elva hadn't stopped her - twice. Dumb and dimwitted do not a main character make. I need growth in a series character not ditzy. Yep, done with the series.
Continuing fun and spiritual games with Althea and friends
This book continues the escapades of the trio of friends that live in the Florida keys and have skills ing the areas of magic including tarot, witchcraft and voo-doo. Althea is trying to add some spells to her tarot reading business at the behest of her friends but her lack of ability to focus continues to cause problems involving the spirit world. It is fun, interesting and worth a chuckle.
As always, a great story. Althea and the gang never disappoint. A mystery with a little paranormal mixed in. Love this series. All the characters are amazing. I can not think of a better way to spend time reading. Tricia O'Malley is one of the best authors I have read recently. Her work is fabulous.
While spirits and reanimated bodies abound Althea tries to figure out her love life. Dating herself just might be a good idea and participating in a little therapy. Join fellow readers in this hilariously funny ride through " zombie key". You will love it!
There are walking corpses all over town and the girls are on the case! Will they send everyone back to where they belong or will Althea have a squirrel moment and mess things up? Wonderful read! Just what I needed to escape life for a few hours! I definitely couldn't put it down.
I was really looking forward to this one but it left me sorta tired of the whole thing. It just seemed to be a really long three stooges skit or something with not much character development. I wish Althea would start to get a clue. Also the constant bickering between Rafe and Althea is getting old...of course that might be ended now. Still, disappointing.
I really enjoy these books I love the story line they are so fun to read but as they go on; it seems Althea becomes more and more inept I am not really liking that. She seems more absent minded and selfish and disregarding of the law of witch crafting. I find it annoying .
There's a grave robber using the body for necromancy. I know I should have guessed, but I was enjoying the hanging out with Althea, Luna and Miss Elva. Althea has decided she needs me time to figure out who she is and what she wants. Hopefully, it won't take her as long as it took me, although I highly recommend the process.
Someone is robbing graves in the cemetery for the bodies. They are pulling spirits through the veil and putting them into the bodies. It's up to Althea, Luna and Ms Elva to find out who. Althea is a bit of a pain though she doesn't listen and things go wrong. It was a fun read with banter between the characters and I enjoyed reading about them.
I enjoyed this book, but I'm beginning to wonder if Althea is progressing as a character or if it'll continue with the on, off boyfriends and ongoing loop I like the overall characters though so will continue to read the next in the series. I did enjoy the moral of the story however.
I love this series and dislike the idea that it soon to come to end! This series has fun and great characters from Althea Rose, Hank, Luna, Miss Elva, Rosita, and Rafe. These characters have become my friends. I enjoyed this story of the "zombies" and how Althea and her friends dealt with them.
Another great book in the Tequila series. Althea and her friends are as entertaining as always. Cash makes a brief appearance but he’s not into all the magic. Trace is a “friend” for now but don’t see that lasting. All in all it was very good .
Following Althea through her daily life is a guilty pleasure. I love this series for the humor, the adventures the girls get themselves into and the fun. Number 7 didn’t disappoint. Quick fun read.
Always great visiting with Althea and the gang on Tequila Key. Spirits and dead bodies are piling up. But Althea, Luna and Miss Elva will surely sort things out.
I enjoyed this series until now. I just can't take anymore of Althea being written as a bumbling idiot. Dumb heroines are not entertaining. Scatterbrained is not entertaining. I love the other characters, why must the main character become unlikable? I'm outta here.
