Roman Valdez is the Devil.

He sneers at me.
He hates me.
He wants to hurt me.

Let him try.

He thinks he’s untouchable. The self-appointed Devil of Sun Valley High.
But I’ve already lost everything and everyone I care about.
It’s me he should be afraid of. Not the other way around.
Because I have nothing left to lose, and he can’t break what’s already broken.

At least, that’s what

I was honestly torn between 4 and 5 stars with this book. So let's keep it at 4.5 vanilla starts.

She's a new author to me, but the only thing against her here, is that this is a highschool bully romance trope, and I've made myself clear before that this trope is starting to fade into nothing after so much of the same recycled plot.

Despite of the start of the story, where I could check every single cliche item of almost every highschool bully, meaning:

So, I gotta be honest, during the first 30% of the book I thought it was a little cheesy and maybe a little unbelievable - a 4 star read.

But then the story started progressing and after tragedy struck I found myself so swept up in this book, feeling all the feelings, raging and sobbing and getting my heart broken.

Daniela manages to touch a very painful subject with such respect and tenderness while keeping it real and honest, broaching not only the trauma itself but the long road to recovery and

I just finished reading an advanced copy of this book, and holy shizballs, I am all in my feels right now! No spoilers. Just that I completely and totally recommend this book. It's seriously one of the best books I've read this year. ALL of the characters are amazing. I loved it so much I just pre-ordered a copy so I can read it again when it releases.
But seriously, READ THIS BOOK.
When I started this book I got into it pretty easily and I was instantly intrigued by the characters. And for the most part I enjoyed the story and thought the pace of it was really good. We got the angst with some romance, sexiness, and the constant unpredictability that was captivating and kept me sucked into the book. So it was a solid 4 star read for me. And then got to 70% and it went all downhill in a way that took this 4 star read and brought it down to a 2.

The last 30% of this story alm

I’ll admit that I’m not a huge fan of bully romances. I’ll read them if they are by my one click authors, but most of the time I just pass them by. But this one, this one caught my attention. Actually, it was the last two sentences that hooked me and I decided to give it a go with no real expectations, just the hope that I would enjoy it in the end. Well, I more than enjoyed it. I went down the rabbit hole and didn’t want to come out and was quite disappointed when t

Where to start with this one. There’s so much I can say but I don’t want to give anything away.
This is the kind of book that will stay with you for a very long time after you’re finished with it.
I love the fact that Roman and Allie are Latinos. I love the Spanish here in there in the book. It’s always great to read books with characters who speak the same language as I do and characters that I can identify with them.

You know how sometimes you read too much of a particular trope and then you get bored and stop for a while and then hop back into it and you find yourself enjoying the trope all over again. That was me with the bullymance trope and Wicked Devil by Daniela Romero. This book starts with Allie Ramirez who is having to move to the small town of Sun Valley as her mother has just died and to make it worst she caught her boyfriend and her best friend sleeping together. Allie has hit a triple whammy and ...more

Okay, WOW!! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Usually I'm not one for the high school bully romances but this one was different. Allie is so easy to relate to. Dealing with the death of her mother and trying to heal her broken heart after being cheated on by her ex boyfriend she's just trying to get by without showing the world just how much pain she's in. I think we can all relate to putting on a smile to fool the masses into thinking everything is fine. Roman is your typical pos ...more

I just recently got into high school romance after falling hook and sinker with Rina Kent's high school romance series.

While I don't think this is quite up on the same par, this is still a fantastic read! I did expect it to be dark and it is, but not the kind that I was expecting. Some may find some scenes disturbing and triggering so think lon

Allie's at a new school, taken in by the dad she never knew existed, after her mother's death. Now she's in a new world and she just wants to get by without offending anyone. Unfortunately for her, the guy assigned to show her around school is one of the assholes who runs the school - Roman. He of the cocky smirk, athletic body, and bullying attitude. The heat between them, though? Unexpected. But it can't go anywhere aside from casual. Or say the two of them say. But we all know how

I am a huge fan of Bully Romance. They are one of my very favorite tropes to read. So sometimes when they run the same story line over and over and I think I’ve had enough, I still apparently haven’t because I've not skipped one I’ve come across. I went into this book thinking and hoping it would be on the dark side especially with the trigger warning. It wasn’t really all that dark. Some crazy shit happe

I’m not sure why but I read Daniela Romero Wicked Devil over a week and a half ago, and I’m just now posting my review. Yet, the review wouldn’t come. It isn’t because I didn’t enjoy it. As a matter of fact, I could not put this book down. I have a tendency to read books simultaneously because I have several ARCs to read at any given point. I intended to read a little bit of Romero’s newest book and then read another ARC. But once I started into Wicked Devil, Romero gra

This story revolves around Allie and Roman in their senior year of high school. It’s a bully romance that’s really light on the bullying, which I’m okay with! I would say this story is more devious and fun for the first half and pretty serious the second half. Either way, I couldn’t put it down until I absolutely had to.

Allie was such a great character. I really feel as though we get to know her very well. She’s relatively down to earth and not a doormat. Because of this, I hate that she was on

Wow! Wicked Devil starts as a bully romance in my opinion. But the heroine is so strong, determined and isn't backing down to nobody. I was kind of in awe how she made these boys eat from the palm of her hand.
Roman is determined to make her life miserable, but soon enough he aborts the mission. He's starting to fall for her and he kind of likes it.

But then something horrible happens to Allie and she becomes a shell of who she used to be. She's no longer the strong Allie, she's weak, she's lost

I wouldn’t really class this as bully romance more just high school romance,( it’s recommended reading 17+ so not for everyone) but it was an entertaining read. I loved Allie, how normal she was, how because of everything she’d been through she wasn’t backing down and she knew exactly who she was. You are drawn into liking and loving Roman even though you don’t want to initially, the pacing is good and writing is nice. It was an enjoyable and accessible read

This is the first book I've read from this author and it was such a fantastic story. This story might not be for everyone. The story includes subjects that some readers might not enjoy so if a reader rather not read a story that involves rape among other things, this story might not be for you. I enjoyed this high school romance read and although these characters are young, some of them act more mature than their parents. I absolutely loved Allie. Her character dealt with so much and she handled ...more

I devoured Wicked Devil today!
This New Adult Romance was hard to put down! I could not get enough of the characters in this story. Allie along with the Devils; Roman, Emilio and Dominique are an interesting bunch. Allie being new to town after the terrible loss of her mother and stumbling upon this crew at Sun Valley High made for a great read. I love a good alpha character who gets knocked off balance when that one woman comes into his life and turns everything upside down. This happens to Roma
This book really took me by surprise and I'm still thinking about the ending now.

The story is a high school romance, but with a few twists, but I certainly will not give away any spoilers. The reason I have decided to go for 3 instead of 4 stars is just because I felt a few things were missing from the story. For instance, Allie never really started to deal with the grief from her mum or that there was no closure from the twist.

That said, Romero's writing is fantastic and it was definitely a f

Daniela Romero’s debut bring a distinct flair to this genre where there is plenty of offerings of late. It nice to read a BIPOC bully romance where the culture was embedded in the story and plays a big part in connecting the characters.
Allie has the run of the mill background. She found out recently is the bio daughter of a rich man after her mother died and moves in with him. She meets the Devils who are the Prince of Devils of Sun Valley High and rule the roost when she moves to the town.

YA bully romances are becoming the in thing at the moment and I have reviewed a few lately some better than others. If 'Wicked Devil' the first book in the Devils of Sun Valley High is anything to go by this is going to be one exceptional good series!

Put aside any initial thoughts you have about YA bully romances because Roman and Allies story is like know other; yes Roman and his band of 'Devils' are the elite of the school because they play football. but no Roman isn't the quarterback whi

So much running through my head after reading Wicked Devil. I assumed a lot seeing it was another bully romance, but Daniela Romero blazed her trail in this trope. She broke the mold with this one. The thing that will keep me coming back for more is that this is not another bully out for revenge. This is Roman being the typical HS playboy jock, and Allie walks in and knocks him on his rear end, and he has no clue how to handle tha

He's the bad boy, whilst also being a god amongst mere mortals. Everyone worships the ground he walks upon.

From that moment they are forced together destiny begins to rewrite their future....
