Willow Winters is underrated. Her books are underrated. That's for damn sure!
Note: This is a romantic suspense.
You Are My Reason is the first book in the steamy and suspenseful duet, You Are Mine. The story focused on Julia and Mason who'd gone through heartbreaks and losses, and found love in each other's arms.
Julia's husband had died almost a year ago and she was yet finding ways how to cope with it. When her best friends invited her a night out at a bar, she agreed.
Mason had just ended a shitty meeting with his father. He went to his usual spot, the bar, to clear his mind. Seeing Julia there was the highlight of his night. He knew everything about her, and he wanted her. But she's forbidden. The one woman in the city he should stay away from. He shouldn't have done it. But still, he took risk.
Julia and Mason agreed on a one night stand. Just ONE night of pure bliss to forget. But one night turned to two, and then led to three, and before they realized what was happening, they already had feelings for each other. But Mason had a past. Secrets that would ruin his relationship with Julia, that maybe even love couldn't save forever.
This was a fast-paced read and definitely unputdownable. Filled with chemistry, emotions, hottest sex, twists, and a shocking cliffhanger.
I absolutely loved Mason. I liked his determination to make Julia completely his. In short, I absolutely adored his character! As to Julia, I would like her to develop more. She's a little weak and dull for my liking. I just hope the second book would save her character.
I recommend this to those who likes: Willow Winters, romantic suspense, forbidden, erotic, dark romance, emotional read, and a cliffhanger.

Winters At It Again With The Chemistry and the Mystery

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
She hasn’t wanted a man the way she wants him in a long time. It was supposed to be for one night only. But it turned into more and just when everything was going smoothly, their pasts come back to haunt them.
Winters, oh, Winters. This story is full of steam, intrigue, loss, mystery and TWISTS!! Unexpected ones at that. I wasn’t even thinking about it and then it HAPPENED and my heart kinda broke for the leading lady. I empathized with her. She deserves some happiness! She had her badass moments, but it’s the beginning of her journey and I think she will come to her own in book two. As to the leading man… He was handsome and intriguing. Very entertaining to read. His relationship to his family showed what type of man he is. The twists and turns in this book are just remarkable IS ALL I CAN SAY! The cliffhanger will leave you waiting for so much more! WHAT IS GOING ON!??!?!?!?

Once again, Winters delivers a story so beautiful that my heart wants to explode. Even with it ending in one hell of a cliffhanger, I am in love. I am in love with the story and in love with the characters. Mason is irresistible from the beginning and I can see why Jules has such a hard time staying away from him (not that she should because she wants him like crazy). After the death of her husband about 8 months prior, Jules is finally able to push herself to want something. She needs to feel wanted and Mason is there to do that for her.
I don’t want to go into specifics because I think everyone should read this. I didn’t read the original version, but I think that you should read this even if you have. I’m hoping you will be pleasantly surprised by the changes. And if you hate cliffhangers, still read this because it’s so well done. I’m usually pretty hesitant about reading books with cliffhangers, but I was not disappointed. The next installment in their story is coming out very soon after this one that you won’t have to wait long! Hopefully you’ll love Mason and Jules as much as I do!

I don’t want to go into specifics because I think everyone should read this. I didn’t read the original version, but I think that you should read this even if you have. I’m hoping you will be pleasantly surprised by the changes. And if you hate cliffhangers, still read this because it’s so well done. I’m usually pretty hesitant about reading books with cliffhangers, but I was not disappointed. The next installment in their story is coming out very soon after this one that you won’t have to wait long! Hopefully you’ll love Mason and Jules as much as I do!

YOU ARE MY REASON by Willow Winters is the First book in the You Are Mine Duet. This starts the story of Mason Thatcher and Julia Summers. Julia is working to get back into life after loosing her husband almost a year ago. So she agrees to a girls night at a bar which leads her to meet Mason. Mason sparks interest she hasn't felt in a long time so they settle into a one night stand but they find their attractions is more than a one night stand. While Julia is finding herself again with Mason she is unraveling her husbands secrets. Julia is finding that there are more secrets than just her former husband's. This book does end to set you up for the next installment in their story. Can't wait for more.

Wow. Willow loves to take you on a mysterious ride that keeps you on your toes. She kept me guessing all the way until the end and left me speechless. I couldn't put the book down. I needed to know what's going to happen next.
Jules was still grieving after her husband's death. Months passed and she met Mason Thatcher. There was chemistry immediately. Sometimes, I preferred a story where the characters build up the relationship rather than more of insta love. But it totally works for this story. Mason was a playboy so Jules was scared of being with Mason, but she can't help that she wants him. Mason totally made my heart flutter. BUT he is a mysterious man!!! Can't wait for the second book.

These adjectives are not enough to describe the happiness I felt at reading and finishing this novel. Such a heartwarming and wonderful journey I went on with Mason and Julia.
The plot was so fast paced, I was never bored while reading. The unique problems thrown at our hero and heroine are never unsolvable and they prove this, time and time again. The romance, the steaminess and softness of it, truly pulled at my heartstrings. And the times I could relate to Julia and Mason about their insecurities, made me feel like I had two new friends just by being there alongside them combatting their insecurities.
Such a wonderful book, I cannot praise it enough.

First of all let me just say, i love Willow Winters. I loved het the moment i read Merciless and i never stopped.
Lemme tell you a little about this book.

Mason is a man who has an ugly secret. A secret that burdens his soul and tears at his heart. Everything that he believed in was a lie. And as much as he wants to do the right thing, he knows he can't.
They both meet in a bar and the second he sees her he knows he can't stay away, even thought he should. What was meant to be a one time thing, became something deeper.
But secrets and lies can never stay buried, they always resurface when you least expect it. Love can never make a home where lies and secrets sleep.

So when i started reading this book i didn't really know what to expect, because the blurb didn't give much away, and damn ....
It was an intense ride, full of lies and half truths.
Willow Winters throw us right into the story from the first page and you can do only one thing: keep reading to understand who is hiding what.
Mason and Jules are complex characters and the entire story is very introspective.
They both have to face their past....
Jules is mourning and she is not ready to start living again, so meeting Mason put her off balance.
The attraction is undeniable but she feel guilty for letting Mason in.
Mason, on the other hand, has so many secrets that burdens on his soul.
He know he should leave Jules alone, yet he can't help but crave the way she make him feel.
Day by day something that was meant to be just sex become something deeper....
But secrets and lies never stay buried in the past, and when you think you can finally be happy, that's the moment when everything fall apart.
The author did a great job keeping us on the edge and leaving us hanging for more...
And i gonna sit here waiting for "You are my Hope" to finally have my answers.

You are my reason was previously titled Imperfect, this new version has been edited and new content added to improve the story.
Having recently read Imperfect for the first time I was intrigued to see where the changes were in this newer updated version. I am pleased to say I think the changes made have improved the story. The elements that I thought were weak the first time round are the parts that I noticed the biggest improvement.
You are my reason is about 2 characters that have both suffered love and loss and find each other in a crowded bar. Thus begins their whirlwind romance of learning to love again; but Mason's POV clue's the reader in to the fact that things may not be quite as straightforward as they seem. Despite wondering about his troubled relationship with his Father, his failing business and his references about why he shouldn't be with Jules, all things that should be in the back of my mind, during the moments that Mason and Jules connect the passion overtakes it all.
Willow upped the chemistry for me, their connection was much more tangible and it felt more than just a physical longing. The plot is multi layered and it always niggles at the back of your mind that there is something more going on that you don't know about yet. So when the twist comes it's a great addition to lift the story in preparation for book two.
I am on board with this revamp and looking forward to how it continues into the next novel in the duet.

This was a cute read. I like Mason and Julia, but everything was so rushed. It was an engaging book with a lot of STEAMY romance. I don’t mind reading smut, but their entire relationship was evolved around them pleasing each other. That was an ICK for me, there was no chemistry just them having sex lol 🥴

This story left me all sorts of messed up! It was soo good, I couldn't get enough of the characters. Julia is going through a very difficult times after losing her husband just few months back. Still grieving, she knows it's time to move on. She is trying to pick up the broken pieces and just find herself again without her husband by her side. Her story really pulled me in! And then enters Mason who also has a troubled past that we don't know much about. Together, they have burning chemistry and quite deep connection. While Mason is the one who wants it all, Julia is not sure if she is ready to give it her all. As they navigate through this new found relations, informations from their pasts resurface that left me gawking at my kindle not truly believing what I had just read. This book is full of unexpected moments, as it's usual for Willow's writing.

This is my first time reading this book. I didn't read Imperfect, which this book was originally published as so I am just going off of this book and not comparing it to Imperfect.
You Are My Reason easily sucked me into it. I swear to you that when I picked this book up, it felt like I was reading for 10 minutes. When in actuality, I was halfway through the book! I couldn't peel my eyes from this book if I tried. Mason and Julia are such an easy couple to like and read about. They are simple, but not too simple and very interesting. They are both garded and holding things back from one another, but for good reason. They have depth and a lot of emotion toward each other, I can't wait to see where book two goes and how everything plays out.
If you are looking for an emotional, fast-paced, mystery, and suspenseful read with some steamy part, this is a great book to pick up!

Jules-Julia Summers- is still getting over her late husband’s death. I found that I could sympathise with her a lot more in this version but still not empathise with her fully— not the way I could do with just about every other Willow Winters heroine I’ve read.

Without spoilers, it’s hard to say why. I did find her friends a lot more supportive and less judgemental— I especially loved Sue and her protectiveness and carefree spirit.
I first read the previous version to this story nearly a year ago as the duet back to back. It had a huge impression on me then and reading this again in a fresh light made me appreciate the intricate plot to this story a lot more- and I felt the full impact of that twist and cliffy. This book is well worth the read and I can’t wait to see what You Are My Hope, book 2, brings.

Julia Summers is a little lost after losing her husband 8 months ago. When she meets Mason Thatcher one night, her life might just get that spark she is looking for but at what cost? Mason knows something that could destroy everything they might be building. As the story progresses, pieces of the truth will come to light. It took me a bit to get into this story but once I did I had to know what was happening. I enjoyed the overall story and made a few predictions but I’m not sharing them as this does end in a cliffhanger. This is an emotional story about finding yourself again and taking chances...with a twist. I really need book two! Told in dual POV

This is the first novel I’ve read by Winters and it was a lovely surprise. I do enjoy a read with a strong plot that keeps me guessing until the end, You Are My Reason accomplishing that whodunit feel with ease. The reason why I mention this is because I’d convinced myself that I’d sussed out the twist. Wrong! There’s so much more to Julia Summers and Mason Thatcher’s story than meets the eye.
Little wonder Julia’s close friends are concerned for her peace of mind. Her stance, the pitch of her voice and pained expressions are those of a damsel in distress. And I wasn’t the only one observing her sufferings from a distance. I think the worse thing that could happen to anyone regardless of their social status is not being able to grieve without others judging you, afraid about what they could think, say or do to hurt you even more. But she puts her big girl pants on and makes a decision. If Julia has little idea what’s in store for her, Mason less.
“I thought I was okay. I thought I’d be able to move on. I thought I was moving on.”
I’m still not sure if Mason was in the wrong place at the right time. Incorrigible playboy, what’s put on a silver platter is far too appetizing to refuse. But would that spark of attraction lead to more or complicate his already troubled life? I really connected to Mason. Regardless of the secrets he’s holding back and the consequences when all is revealed, I couldn’t help falling for him.
‘It’s all going to come crumbling down around me soon. I deserve to enjoy what little time I have left.’
The past affects Julia’s present when she learns the truth about someone, yet her life isn’t exactly in shambles. I felt her lack of knowledge a tad unconvincing and her excuses weak. However, I liked how she started putting everything in order and how she dealt with her guilt. With Mason’s encouragement, she’s slowly opening up… so, what’s he hiding you may ask? Ahh, you’ll only find out by reading it.
“You’re entitled to feel and do whatever you want. It’s no one else’s business. Their perception of you is their responsibility. Not yours.”
The author’s choice of words in the poems at the beginning of every chapter are so very apt and well crafted. I also liked the dual perspective, giving me a clearer picture of the protagonists’ feelings. That being said, I'm dying to know if my questions will be answered in the conclusion of Mason and Julia's story. This fast-paced, steamy and emotional romance is definitely worth a recommendation. Bravo, Winters!

A story about loss, second chances, secrets, and love. It doesn’t get much better than that. Just when you think Jules is finally truly opening herself up to Mason, something comes out that threatens everything. Such an emotional read. Cannot wait for book 2!!

As always with Willow Winters’s books, it’s the secrets that hooked me up, and the way they’re revealed little by little. Some mysterious deaths, money that disappears, resentment between a man and his father… it’s all linked, and the reasons Julia and Mason shouldn’t even be together. And yet, there’s so much passion and desire that they can’t stay away from each other.
It’s like watching a trainwreck: you know everyone’s going to die, but you can’t take your eyes off it. The writing reflects that–you feel the strong attraction between Julia and Mason, but all their actions reek of trepidation, as though they already know they don’t have time to take everything slow.
Through the various characters, you get some exploration of what marriage is–from the dreams of a single woman to the desillusions of a divorcee, from the fights and the cheating to the grief of losing one’s love. It was an interesting aspect of the story.
Another intense story about love and secrets, and I can’t wait for the next book, to know if they’ll get their happily ever after, or if they’re as doomed as it seems.

She was slowly sinking into an abyss with no return. Mason was handsome, confident and sexy. He was a welcome diversion at first, but Julia was beginning to want more from him. He looked right into the soul of her eyes and she just knew he would take care of her. But she could also see in Mason a side that had her on the alert. She felt he was holding back secrets from her.

This book had my emotions all over the place. I love this book and the plot it had behind it. I loved both characters and how they could not get enough of each other. This book will not disappoint you.

This story is fast paced. The characters have a depth to them that I hope will be revealed further in the next book. Book #1 ends with a cliffhanger and after the last few chapters in the book I kinda expected it.
I‘m excited to see what‘s in store for their turbulant romance in the next book.

The first book of this emotionally-gripping story had we turning the pages from get go. Mason and Julia’s story is not all rainbows and unicorns, it’s second guessing, it’s a travesty , it’s emotional.
How do you move on from the love of your life, the one that you thought was everything only to find out maybe it was all a lie. When Julia meets hot alpha Mason who has a bit of a temper and lots of ghosts in his closest himself, you would think she should run. But what starts off with steamy hot chemistry turns into a love affair of fast proportions.
There is no stopping these two make from making a mess of their lives and boy to they have a lot to answer for..

I loved the characters in this book and the premise! Julia was very relatable and I loved the fantasy aspect of it. Willow Winters has written another great romance, from beginning to end! I could easily spend hours reading her books. Just ask my husband, but something tells me he won’t complain. 😉

After the death of her husband, Julia feels lost. With no real energy or feelings to right her ship she feels like she is adrift at sea. With a father he cannot stand and a business that is floundering, Mason needs something to bring the spark back into his soul. A brief encounter brings the two together and at first it seems like they are exactly what each other need. But when the lies and secrets come out will they remain connected or will it be the final nail in the coffin of love? Beautifully written characters and a story that had me taking my kindle out to dinner with my family this was a fabulous book. With every turn of the page the reader is waiting for the shoe to drop and the betrayal to begin. I cannot wait to see where Willow Winters takes us next!!

Book 1 in the You are Mine duet and wow what a start to the duet. I never had the pleasure of reading this story when it was previously released as Imperfect so for me this is a completely new story and I loved it. This story pulled me in from page 1. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry and attraction between Mason and Julia was so instant and intense. You were able to feel it as they were feeling it. Every emotion they felt, you felt. That is how real Willow has made these characters. I love stories like that. Stories that make you feel involved and lost in a good way while you are reading them. I can’t wait for book 2. Highly recommend this story.

Lies, anger, passion oh my. This book is packed with emotions and twists. Julia is trying to get her life back while it keeps crumbling around her. Mason is angry and trying to fight the sins of his past. The passion and spark that Masson and Julia have just add to the depth of there story. As typical Willow Winters writing she leaves you shocked and wanting more of this couple and there story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this story.
