The three hot, panty-melting Fae Princes think I will be their sidekick bitch.
When only a year left until I can leave the orphanage, the letter arrives stating that I am invited to the last year of the dark fae academy! I am human!
It’s absurd and it gets only worse.
I enter the dark fae world, hoping to clarify the mess. I end up stuck in the academy with psycho bitches going after my ass.
I could live with that though, if not for the three maddingly hot Fae princes. They think they can bend and own me. And they aren’t wrong except I am not who I think I am.
Avery has spent her life in the orphanage, she only has a year left before she can leave. Avery and the other orphans are treated terribly by the people that run it. Avery is caught up on night when she should be. She tries to run but makes a wrong turn. The sisters catch her in abandoned part of the orphanage. They hit her and tie her up outside. Avery gets a visit from a black cat, the cat helps her. When the sisters approach her, the cat all of sudden has a letter. The letter is address for Avery, she has been invited to attend the Darkmoon Academy. Avery manages to get away from one of the sisters on while getting there. Avery finds her way to into the forest. She is found by two fae, she is terrified. She shows the letter to them. They realize that the letter is authentic and take her to the headmaster. Headmaster has no choice but to accept her into the school. He has his daughter come get her. Avery doesn't know the first thing about this academy. Avery and Eileen run into on of the princes, it will spark all sort of issues. When her testing in that is required for the school, show her possible lineage, things will not go well for her.
This was a good start to the story, the books follows the character was she tries to figure out what is going. As far as she knows, she is human. The last part is really when she learns who she is and what she will have to do. I am sure the next book will move the story now that everything has been laid out.

"The Last Year a dark fae academy series was a mix of mystery, paranormal, slow-paced and plus a reverse harem!! At first the story started really slow and somehow confusing, it seemed like forever until the real action started but I really like how the author developed the story. The intrigue, the characters and the magic!
From the very beginning Avery life was a mess and her circumstances weren't the best and to be honest the sisters were not good at all. Luckily...? She received a strange invitation to a mysterious academy that would forever changed her life. Nothing was the same the moment Avery arrived into that world. Mystery, suspense and lots of unanswered question plus three arrogant princes that would turn Avery's life upside down. Did I mention a cruel Queen?
Talking about arrogant princes 'if you want my body, you need more than I'm a prince and a handsome face'. Go girl and tell him! I felt like a proud friend when Avery told one the princes that. They might be used to have everything they want without questioning them and if you add a competition for the hand of the... not details. Reverse Harem trope is AMAZING!
A great start of this series with action, magic, attraction and secrets. I can't wait for the next book!"
A great start to the series, a slowburn paranormal academy reverse harem filled with mystery, intrigue, deception, self discovery, friendship, a fantastic twist and an ending making me want to know what happens next. Very well written, interesting diverse brilliantly developed characters with strong chemistry and a strong storyline, cannot wait for the fest of the series from this amazing author Victoria Mercier.

Orphan Avery (FMC) finds a friend in a strange black cat who delivers a unexpected invite to the mysterious Darkmoon Academy. A place full of secrets the majority are about her and who she is. Which no-one can work out? Add one bitchy Queen, her daughter and 3 arrogant princes - Auden, Ren and Tyrfingur. Im still waiting to see if i like them or not yet? Ill see in the next book. Especially with that ending!! Blimey that threw me. So good. Im dying for the next book now
3 out of 5 stars, I liked it enough to continue reading The Last Fey (book 2). I can’t recommend this book bundle/series as I didn’t enjoy its plot. But if you pick it up, I hope you’ll enjoy it more than I did.

I found this story to be an imaginative tale with intriguing characters. She is believable as a victim who is really a survivor. The twist from her life before than after was very entertaining as it revealed more characters, more mystery and more intrigue. Great storytelling
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and I really liked Avery. The story had a great flow and kept your interest throughout. I would recommend reading.
