The story as a whole was solid. There was enough happening outside of the main plot to invest me in the characters and their lives, as well as watching them deal with real-world problems alongside this monster and confusion. It made the story a little more real and added a depth of emotion that I appreciated.

DNF at 32%.

This was a complete cover buy for me and I'm sure the story is one of those that progresses and gets better as you go in, but in a 290 page eBook I want to be sucked in from the start, and honestly, I couldn't warm to a majority of the characters. I'll maybe give this another go at some point in time, but right now, if a book isn't grabbing my interest within the first 20%, Imma have to let it go.
