My second year at the prestigious Harkwright Academy is about to begin. Within these walls I've faced many challenges and I can't help but wonder: can I survive this, and still be the same girl I was when I began?

This year I have even more trials to face; from attending the retreat after being claimed by Aeron, to seeing the infamous Harkwright Prince, with no more disguises in place.

The cards may not seem stacked against me right now, but can I stay in the Harkwrights good graces without losing myself?

Will I continue to see this place as nothing more than a means to an end, or will it offer me the things I never even knew I wanted?

One thing is certain, it's gonna take more than a batch of baked goods to get me through this!

This is a full length book that is part of a trilogy. It is a dark academy, which includes scenes of bullying. It is a why choose romance. Where the fmc will have more than one love interest.

B.C. Morgan lives in England with her amazing fella, their twin devils (also called kids), and their pets. She’s a lover of all things creative from baking to drawing, if it’s creative she’ll give it a go. For someone who claims to not like people, she somehow always manages to surround herself with friends and family.

While B.C. loves bringing life to all the voices in her head, who demands she tells the world their story, she sometimes wishes they were less homicidal. But alas, what’s a poor author to do when death and destruction is being demanded?! To be fair it isn’t really surprising B.C.’s characters are acting like that, considering she has a list with everyone who’s wronged her. It started with the tooth fairy who didn’t pay for her teeth.

I was very emotionally invested in the first book, so it was definitely a hard act to follow. I have to say though, book 2 really did deliver. There was no disconnect between the two, it started right where we left off.

Am I still confused about who is in the harem? The answer is YES, but at least it’s not predictable 😅

All the MMCs have changed/grown as characters, but we did lose some along the way. Sorry that sounded ambiguous, none of them have died, but they have just been dropped. That’s a better way to put it.

They are all pretty inconsistent. They are still sweet and caring, but also utterly frustrating and confuse the hell out of you. I think they may be suffering from ‘rich man’ syndrome though, as they are often a little selfish.

If they were consistent and obsessed with the FMC I honestly would have gotten bored. I need the drama, I need the tension, and I need the MMCs to be slightly oblivious.

The FMC definitely came into her own in this book and had some very out-of-character moments, which I appreciated. I think I needed to see the craziness of this situation getting to her. Not a full breakdown, but a mini one.

The only thing I will say is that I wasn’t a fan of the time jumps. It’s in a university year so I understand the need to jump forward, but I did get confused sometimes.

Overall, I still loved the book though and my obsession with the characters continues.

3.5 stars... maybe.

Not sure if 600 pages of book 3 is worth it to me to find the answers I want. I might just read spoiler reviews to find out.

I have many questions, but not the patience at the moment.

Soo much happened in this book! It was stuffed with plot from the first second and I loved being along for the ride.

Luna continues to develop her relationships with everyone and it’s very up and down- I really can’t pick a favorite right now! And the ending is a crazy cliffhanger.

Luna also has some good character development in this book, and her relationships change because of it. I’m still hoping she gets stronger and braver but I’m happy with how she has grown thus far

I don’t know where the plot is going to go, anything could happen at this point! This story/premise is so unique and it’s really been sticking with me. I can’t wait for book 3.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. There’s so much I want to say about it. I love this series so much, the concept is different and it’s refreshing to not read the same old academy RH book. Don’t get me wrong, I love academy RH so much, it’s just nice to have a different take on it.

Luna is not the perfect heroine, she makes mistakes and she’s selfish sometimes, and I love that about her. I love her character’s development. Luna is finally going after what she wants and not thinking about how every single decision is going to hurt someone else, and I’m here for it.

The guys are perfect, I get mad at them all, but I love them. I always thought Aeron and Tucker would always be my top picks from her harem, but goodness Emmet, Tom, and her protector has me thinking like Luna, why do I have to choose? They’re all so sweet but have that perfect combo of asshole.

This story is so good, and I want to live in this world Bee has created. Her writing is just so good, she always has me wanting more, and I cannot wait for the third book already.

Holy fish sticks y'all.
BC has done it a-freaking-gain. Mangled Minds picks up right where Hollow Hearts left off.
We see Luna grow in this book as well as being taken down a peg.
I really like how the characters are growing and how the secrets the Harkwright men have are unraveling.
I cannot wait to sink my teeth into the third book!

The first half was fine but then it just fell apart. The story felt like there were random chunks missing and other parts spliced in… just the absolute sloppiest editing I’ve seen in a minute

I freaking loved this book! In the past year I’ve gotten into RH thanks to a friend (ily name twin 🥺) I’ve already read a lot of RH books but this series has got to take first place 🥇 for the most unique storyline and characters!

I adore Luna and all the boyysss I like literally can’t pick which boy was my favorite and that’s surprising for me and RH normally one or two guys are better but not here I love them all even the ones I’m not supposed to like 👀! Not to mention I loved the friendships normally RH books can lack in that department but not this series!

(It gets its own paragraph because it is probably my favorite part) NICKNAMES HOLY HECK I ADORE THE NICKNAMES AND HOW THEY ALL HAVE DIFFERENT ONES I LITERALLY ADORE THAT!

Okay so all in all I freaking love this book!!!

Loving this series.
Luna remains in the academy restrained by many leashes... some giving more slack than others. This book gives more insight into the personal lives of the boys and what makes them the way they are. Some seriously sweet moments happen alongside some conversations which make me want to hit those boys upside the head!. This is a brilliant read and i cannot wait to read the next one

So if you have read Hollow Hearts then you know of the cliffy that was left. Mangled Hearts starts right off where we find out what happens with the big reveal. Things were pretty rough for Luna in book one, she was introduced into this Hawkwright world that is cruel, mean, sneaky and horrible. She has had to fight to survive in a dog eat dog world. You can trust no one, which she has learned the hard way.

So we enter her second term in the Hawkwright school. Things are just as much up in the air as ever before. She has actually been claimed by Aeron. The guys that gravitate toward Luna I still do not know how I feel about them. One minute they all seem to be so sweet, the next so mean and cruel. I do have my leading guy which as of right now is Aeron, but I really do like the Prince as well. Maddox and Emmet are a close second.

Luna also decides to live a little while she is there. She is finally coming out of her shell, which yes had me shouting you go girl. She is going after what she wants, and with who. I really enjoyed reading about her loosening up and living life for her not for her mom or sister. Also do not forget that there is a killer out there that has a type, and is Luna in danger?

So overall this series is really getting good. We have some back stabbing, some sweet moments, some what the hell moments, and add some danger. You have a really good series that has left me needing more. There is a slight cliffy but not a bad one

The second year is the beginning of change, development, introspection, relationships & revealing secrets. This year is not only about romantic relationships, but also about relationships with family & friends.

Luna is trying to understand herself and is also dealing with the students of the academy and her two hotshot undefined relationships with the men working at the academy. We see her trying, making mistakes, dealing with consequences and learning. Not only do we get bits and pieces of how, when, why Luna is the legacy, but also have an intruder.

All the boys & men are also struggling with their feelings and thoughts both about and not about Luna.

I absolutely love Aeron and a bit of Tucker too, but still am not sure about Tom and am definitely not in favour of Emmet right now.
I would love to know more about Tom and read some conversations between him and the others. I cannot understand Emmet what he wants but hopefully he'll open up more in future. **Fingers crossed**

The story just keeps on getting more and more interesting with unknown effects of Luna being a legacy, a dangerous intruder, and yet to be understood relationship dynamics.

Mangled Minds picks up where Hollow Hearts left off. Luna is in her second year of the Academy and we watch her grow in this book. I like the fact she is gaining confidence but then we still see the stammering awkward Luna. I love how we are getting a back story of the men and why they are like they are and how their secrets are slowly coming out as they trust Luna more. The way B.C writes is captivating and keeps you guessing. One minute I want Luna with one of the men then the next minute I'm angry with said man and want her with one of the others. I could actually see her with all 4 Harkwright men and wouldn't be disappointed, however I'm not sure how that will work.

I literally have no idea who Luna is going to end up with or if she leaves on her own. The anticipation is going to kill me and all I can say is bring on the final book in this trilogy....I want it NOW

I feel like mrs Marple, this whole story is one big mystery and i love it!

We got to see a bit more humanity in the Hawkright boys in this book and i for one cant deciede fully who my favourite is!

I love how Lunas character is developing and how she has adapted to academy life, from last year to this one i see so much growth as a person.

I have soooo many theories about this story, the author is brilliant at keeping the reader on edge and always guessing.

Im really looking forward to book 3!

Highly anticipated! It’s insane how this book literally drags your emotions around. You hate the men, you live for the men, you hate them again. The writing guides your emotions without forcing them. Flawless writing style. I have my favorites and I’ll be honest I’m nervous about how this is going to turn out in the end. The anticipation is truly killing me! However, how much of a book would it be if it didn’t leave you on the edge of your seats?!

Can’t wait for the next!

Wow. I don't even know what to say about this series. It's one that instantly pulls you, leaves you emotionally drained and confused, yet you still crave more. It's an addiction, that's for sure, and also an emotional roller coaster as we follow Luna in her second year at the academy. Luna is still one of the outsiders in the academy when all of the other girls are begging for the attention of the guys and craving to up their ranks in order to gain more money and power after they leave the academy. But those things aren't that important to Luna as she plans to just survive her three years and be able to own her own bakery. She's so different from the other girls and the guys are certainly noticing, much more than they were in the previous book. It's hard to tell who you should like and dislike while reading. Most of the guys are hit and miss, showing feelings one moment and then being completely blank the next. Are the feelings developing real or just another hoax? It seems like Luna is the only girl making real connections in this crazy and dangerous environment, just by simply being herself. The academy is an unexpected place to discover what love is, but Luna manages to achieve the unbelievable and the impossible, even if the feelings aren't reciprocated. Or maybe they are? Honestly, who really knows with these guys!? There are certainly connections growing and I'm excited to see how those develop as the story continues, especially with new love interests being added and others being discarded. The secret about her family is slowly being revealed and the intentions behind Sir and Emmet's interest in Luna are being disclosed as more and more pieces of the puzzle click together. There are still so many lies being told and secrets being hidden that I'm not sure how things are going to play out...but I'm desperate for more. With the maze strangler still on the prowl, hopefully people will start to show more of their true colors, at least the ones we haven't seen yet.

I was so excited to read this! Super anxious for the next one, January seems so far away!

Relationships definitely develop in this one, some that I wasn’t expecting, and some that I really wanted more from. It really set up a lot, but I don’t think we got a ton of answers. There was a lot more focus on character development, which i always appreciate.

Luna is definitely developing more, and I love how she has weak moments and isn’t always made out to be this super bad ass heroine in the traditional sense. She’s still strong despite the moments of lack of confidence and anxiety that she has. She definitely needs to work on being a better friend though, and I hope she gets that chance with Daria.

It’s so hard to pick a favorite guy! I love them all, though I think they all need some work past their Harkwright ways and believing the world doesn’t revolve around them. Except for Darius, who I love just the way he is 🥰 I think I was rooting for Tom the most, but one particular scene made me mad at him. I just want them all to be happy in the next one!

I have a lot of theories about who the strangler is and I can’t wait to find out who it is. Something also seems really off with the whole Poppy situation.

Just some things I was confused about: the setting of this world. She mentions the South Bronx and being in New York but I had thought this academy was in the south for some reason? The time frames also pass by way more quickly than I was expecting, but makes sense.

Also, a lot of the dialogue seemed very British. I couldn’t stop reading it with my imaginary British accent, even knowing it takes place in the US. Just a few word differences would make it more “American!”

I’m interested to know if the dossier at the back is just an extra or is supposed to be a clue! I would also love to read in the guys POV as an extra. I’d love to know what all of them are thinking, especially Tom, since I feel like I got less of his thoughts the most of them all.

Stephannie's 5 Review:

I really love this series, it's different and I love the concept. I don't know what is going to happen next will Luna end up in a RH or with one guy.  I love the mystery.
Luna is not perfect, she makes mistakes. She thinks about how her decisions might hurt someone else. But she starts to realize to do somethings for herself and become a little selfish.
The guys are very different and I love them but also dislike their actions too. I don't know who I like the most; because as we read more of this story their intentions and personalities start to show. Aeron, Tucker, Emmet, and Tom are so different and have their sweet moments with a bit of roughness too.  What going to happen next? Who will Luna end up with in the end? Will it be all of them or just one?
This story is so addictive and good, there are so many things that can or will happen next that we don't see coming. I want more of this story. It is so beyond good and different that I love it that much more. One-click this series, today!

“... to put it simply, I’m in love with the Devil. And I don’t think I’m ever going to stop.”

It's amazing how this author tells a story. I feel like I'm the Spider web, the more and more I read, the more confused I am. I need answers, and I'm so feeling Luna's frustrations. The web is silky, yeah, but it's also full of mystery, lies, half truths, twists and turns.

Luna isn't only still unsure of which boy she trully wants, she has also found out a little something about her birth mother, then there's Poppy, her half sister - Luna has started questioning about her sincerety. And why is Sir acting like he's charmed by her?

Mangled Minds blew me away! I'm quite addicted to this story, as to who Luna really is, what's the deal with Emmet and his father? What's going on with Daria and who is harming all these girls?

More, please!

This is becoming one of my favourite series by BC Morgan! I'm loving Luna's personality facing conflict during her second year of the academy. The many guys don't make it easier for her and with the more time we get to see their true personality, the more I want to see! Aeron I really like still, Tucker and Tom are my favourites right now but not sure with Emmet. I can't wait to see more interaction between Emmet and Luna.

Plot wise, it is getting more intriguing and a little scary for Luna with how Sir Harkwright is paying more attention to her in this. The mystery behind the girls being hurt is keeping us wanting more. Just giving us little clues here and there. I can't wait for the next book and recommend this book and series to anyone!

Mangled minds is the right title because my mind is MANGLED!!
Some parts of this book were a tad expected, but there was some twists and turns that I did not see coming!! My jaw dropped on more than one occasion and there were moments that had my heart pounding so fast in anticipation of what was going to happen next.
There is still SO much mystery and so many secrets!
I definitely have my own theories... specially with Tucker and his “niece”.
Emmett. I love that he’s this dark character. We do get to see a little bit of a nicer side but he doesn’t stray much and I have to be honest and admit that I think he is my favourite out of the guys.
I have a feeling that book 3 is going to be a serious explosion of truths and reveals AND I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

My god the plots twists in this book it just made my head spin!! Not to mention the guys in this. Ones that you thought were good guys turned around and were something else as well as the bad ones doing a complete 180. How Luna (FMC) kept up with all that hotness i dont know?? Just one word Darius.............swoon!!! I need a bodyguard like him, lol. Just when i think ive gotten this book/series worked out in my mind i read something else and it completely threw me! I bloody loved that. Omg that ending though??? Im just speechless and counting down the days until the next book comes out. Just brilliant

We really get to know the characters a whole lot more in the second book of the Harkwright series.

Some of the guy's surrounding Luna we come to love and appreciate and others we hate and despise.

Luna really is on an incredible journey of learning who she is and what she wants.

We also come to discover some of the secrets and mysteries that are woven into this story and I really can't wait for the next one to find out more.

I love that at the end of this book it is still not possible to pick which guy's will end up in a relationship with Luna and it's definitely keeping my guessing.

I eagerly awaited this book and I was definitely not disappointed! Luna grows so much from the timid girl she was in Hollow Hearts and it's nice to see this change in her. I think ive fallen a bit for all of the men! They each show their nicer sides in this book. I'm dying to find out more about Luna's birth family and more of the mens backgrounds. As it stands, I think Darius is my current no.1 😁

Again, BC Morgan leaves me speechless with this 2nd book in the Harkwright trilogy. There's so much mystery and intrigue that you'll be left questioning what's to come. I couldn't put this book down. I can't wait to read the conclusion of this trilogy. I'm dying to see how it all works out in the end.

this series is just so much funn !!! there is a lot of smut but also a lot of other stuff going on otherwise and it really just reminds me of an 18+ selection / bachelor vibe meets gossip girl & pretty little liars ?? there are so many problematic themes but most of it is portrayed as not ideal and not meant to be romanticised which i appreciate <33 i just have so much fun with academy settings, dark romances & reverse harems and this has all of that + some mystery, so fun !!!!

Oh my god. Wow. I just completed reading it honestly I cant wait for the next book already. So much is going in my head, all kinds of assumptions about all kinds of things happening in this series but man i love it so much. I just I dont know if i sound crazy but i just love this series so much , the whole hawkright world that got created here and the characters the storyline man everything gives me so much joy. I swear I squealed when I got to know this book was released and also my squeals and crazy amount of fangirling continued as I kept on reading the book. Honestly I am floored, I did not go in with expectations honestly like i wanted to just go with the flow and see where the story takes me but man I had hopes for the mountain man and THEY WERE FULFILLED and that made me pause reading jump up and down before I could concentrate on the words again. Also Tom Omg that man came in the sneakiest way possible and stole my heart like wow i mean I was intrigued by him in the first book and he totally stepped up in this book. My heart went out for Aeron, I just want to protect him from sabotaging himself. Tucker my boy He makes my heart warm with how he is so considerate and still keeps up with his own roughness. I like how we get to see more of the prince here honestly he is so complicated but also makes me feel like he is a mystery that I will have fun unravelling and he would leave me gooey with feels in the end. Okay I am going to stop hoeing around and get to other interesting things in this book.

I have to say the story is so intriguing there's a suspense, mystery going on with lots of secrets that are still unclear at the end of this book but it will not leave you frustrated because you get to know a lot more in this book. I really like Luna. We see a different side of her and with the pressure in the academy all things considered she is really doing her best to survive. I love how she analyses her feelings, owns upto her mistakes and tries being better in her own way. It just makes her human. I dont wanna give much out honestly you have to read this if you read the first book because it only gets better. A part of me is worried that next book is the last and there's just so much to know or happen that I wonder how it will pan out but I have full faith in the author and I am beyond excited for the next one to come. I have read a lot of RH honestly its a genre I randomly fell in love with but at one point I felt like I could not find anything new when it comes to RH because all kind of circled around the same theme but this series is so different in a good way and I am so glad I picked it up.

I stayed up until midnight to grab this as soon as it was released and then a good few hours more because I couldn't put it down. This book was worth every second of sleep depravation!! The character development in this book is immense. Luna proves she really is no walkover and isn't afraid to demand the boys are better.

The mystery is gripping, someone's hurting girls at the academy, There are some clues but is all as it seems? and what's with the legacy stuff?! Ahhhh so many questions and every time there's an answer I think of 8 more.

Finally the steam, oh lordy the steam!! When Bee hots things up you sure know about it! I cant wait to see how all this wraps up and find out the answers to all those burning questions.

Unbelievable development of the series!

I’m addicted. This story is so fresh, a new idea of a college for 65 students, for the purpose of the entertainment of the 15 guys. The idea of Luna being unique, and irresistible, despite her insecurities.

This second book of the series expands on all of these guys, and how they pursue Luna. It also delves deeper into the mystery that is the lunatic running around strangling the girls. More is explained about the Hawkwright family, how the guys are related, and the family outside the Academy.

Some motives are explained, while other curiosities are unearthed. This book pulls you in, and won’t let go! I cannot wait for the third book!
