This was a thrill ride of a read and overall great debut from Freddie Åhlin.

Although it took me a few chapters to get into the book, when the action started, it was a definite page-turner. It was tense, emotional, mind-bending and seriously scary at times. Psychological horror/ thriller is the perfect description- huge emphasis on the psychological.

I've always found nature beautiful and scary at the same time and I loved the author's excellent description, it really captured both these sides of

Dalton Highway

“A thrilling story with the devil and a conspiracy against a man’s love for his best buddy, ‘His Dog’.

#Insight- Suspense and mystery. One is solved at the end, and the other is not. You’ll never find out the ending. And this alone might be the best reason for you read this story.
Is the man a psychopath?
Is there someone really after him?
What exactly is this all about?
The only thing known for sure is that he loves his dog “Presley” more than anything else.
The twists and turns will

I love reading horror stories and the blurb of Dalton Highway is so interesting that I picked this book to read. The main character of the story is Tom Richards. He is a truck driver and he took the job to deliver boxes of tools on the Dalton Highway. The journey is of 414 miles to Prudhoe Bay. Tom's had to do this work successfully anyhow so he can pay the bills and save his falling marriage. He assured Maggie that he will soon be back and on

Dalton highway is an absolute page turner which grips you in the dark past of Tom Richards , the main protagonist of this story. This book is not a crime thriller which seems from its cover but the plot of story is so unique and interesting . It's a psychological thriller with suspense which makes this book an amazing and entertaining book.

“The clouds were a wavy darkness by now, like the underside of a raven, and the hail had reverted to rain again, which sparkled down on the area as if it was judgement day.”

Tom and his dog, Presley, are trucking down the 666 km Dalton Highway in the Alaskan wilderness when a terrible storm hits. Tom can’t turn back - he needs the money from the job in order to save his marriage. Little does he know, the storm is only the beginning of his descent into darkness...

A real mind twister...

No matter which genre of horror you enjoy, this book has a little from each category. You are taken on a fast paced survival journey through the great Alaskan Wilderness where what we believe is real and what creatures are truly out there is nothing short of a mind twist. Where what we see and feel and the horrors of our own minds are blurred, with a surprise ending that has you rereading everything.

This was a great, fast paced book that I thoroughly enjoyed in a couple of sittings on a Saturday.

Everything fitted together really nicely - although it isn’t a long book, a lot of character depth was built so you could still connect to Tom (and of course Presley!). There was a great mix of keeping it simple, but having just the right amount of backstory to create the journey we went on.

I loved the sheer amount of detail packed throughout - the setting was particularly fun to enjoy and reminded

Freddie has a great talent for writing descriptions. I was transported into the Alaskan wilderness with Tom our main character and Presley his faithful dog. I was with them as they fought the Alaskan terrain, the weather, the animals, Tom’s own mind and the thing in forest. This was an anxiety inducing thrill ride until the last page.

An incredible book that with keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

This book had me trying to figure out what was happening with our main character Tom throughout the story. Tom was struggling financially and on the verge of losing everything. He takes a job driving his truck down Dalton Highway with his faithful dog Presley. They are involved in an accident when Presley runs off in the woods and Tom goes out to find him. Everyone has warned him not to be in the forest but he nee
