Wow what an incredible story! I really felt the emotions written in this book especially as I've been through what Skyla has been through to some extent, I also loved her fiery personality. Travis is a fantastic guy and they were so both well suited, admittedly i don't understand ball game stuff but i still enjoyed every moment of it and was hooked from the start. Looking forward to what's next in this series ❤ ...more

The sparks between them were irrefutable, and he wondered if their lust would burn as hot as their anger toward one another did.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct was different from your typical sports romance. The story had elements of enemies to lovers, crime drama, mythology and sports. Yes, Travis is a professional football player, however, that aspect was fairly minimal in terms of the main plot. I quite liked that about Unsportsmanlike Conduct, that it wasn't a typical sports romance. The author

Rich in sumptuous emotions despite its sports romance theme, Swenson’s steamy debut in the Gods of the Gridiron series sets pulses racing with its fascinating blend of romance, Greek mythology, and the tension of a thriller.

The handsome, impulsive Travis Redmond, the star player of the Atlanta Gladiators, is back in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas after a temporary suspension from the game. Crossing paths with the lovely Skyla Larson, the assistant district attorney and his former classmate

I give this one 4*
This was a short story that introduces Lincoln and Val. Lincoln is on a downward spiral self medicating himself with booze and pills after the loss of his daughter to cancer and then his wife leaving. This was an emotional read.

I give Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Swenson blends the thrills and chills of scorching hot romance in this swiftly paced debut in the Gods of the Gridiron series about love, insecurities, and past traumas.

The handsome, hot-headed football star, Travis Redmond and the beautiful Skyla Larson, an assistant DA, went to high school together and share a history. A dangerous incident sends the couple running for their lives. As the painful past secrets unravel, Travis finds himself falling far Skyla.

The first book in the series. Travis and Skyla knew each other back in the day in high school. But Skyla is opposite of how she is now. Confident, sexy and bold. Travis doesn’t recognize her at all. Travis is a famous football player and intrigued by this sassy woman in the bar. His chances with her already down the drain from the get go because she already knows who he is and wants to stay away from him.

This story was interesting. There was blackmail, and a bit of suspense. The way Travis spoke

Okay, I had a whole other plan and review for this book 2 days ago as I’d DNF’d it at 30%. But I could not stop thinking about it and decided to give it one more chapter, and then I finished it!

So, the first 40% of this book was 2 stars for me. The reason being that Travis is a pig! I was not keen on the way he spoke to Skylar and it rubbed me up the wrong way. I felt like he was walking an exceptionally fine line between flirty banter and sexual harassment and definitely had an entire foot on t

As a lover of Greek mythology and a fellow Packers fan (GOPACKGO!) I STAN the heck out of this book! There is so much to love about this book I can't rave enough! Skyla is the girl who got bullied and decided she was going to stick it to all of those people who made fun of her. Travis aka Ares was the popular boy she loved who never even thought of her as anything but the shy girl in biology. I won't go into anymore detail because you just need to read this dang book! 5 stars and I'm salivating ...more

I find that I like my main characters with a little sass. Which is why I fell in love with Travis right off the bat (err..gridiron? 😂) in Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Not only is he cheeky, but sexy as all get out.

Skyla, on the other hand, starts out really sassy and quick-witted, but as time goes on, she loses some of that and becomes far more focused on her insecurities, dating back to the person she was in high school. And, while I know we all have insecurities (I mean, I get it, I’m a super awkw

To my mother's utter dismay, I've never been a huge football fan (except for Joe Montana, my forever hero!). But this series has stoked that tiny spark, making me a fan of the game and an even bigger fan of Shanna Swenson.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct (excellent title!) is the first book in the Gods of the Gridiron series. The Atlanta Gladiators have a score of gorgeous players about to fall in love, and Travis "Ares" Redmond is the first.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct is a good stuck in a cabin together romance. It tells the story of professional American Football player Travis and assistant district attorney Skyla. They knew each other at High School, where he was the popular sportsman and she the overweight and brace wearing butt of his girlfriend's jokes. Now she's slim, hot and he wants her. Although she resists him for a while, she's never got over her crush and it's not long before they are getting it together. They also find the ...more

I love reading sports romance books and this one for me was a bit different. So we have Travis Redmond who is a football god and Skyla Larson who is an assistant DA. These two have a history but it is not a bad one, they went to school together so that is how they know each other. Travis is you usual alpha male but some how has gotten himself in a predicament that he is trying to figure how to get out of. Then Skyla comes along and everything goes haywire. So when these two get together the spar

I love the chemistry between Travis and Skyla their fire and arguments and the cute adorable flirty back and forwards between the two. The hot steamy sex sessions. Unsportsmanlike Conduct is book number one of Shanna Swenson’s The Gods of the Gridiron series, but my first book of hers! I’m a sucker for a good enemies to lovers romance and hot football players are just an added bonus! Unfortunately this hot footballer also had a serious ego issue I struggled to get past. I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Skyla and Travis. He's a player, start football player and in deep crap because is his brother. When Skyla walks into the same bar she never planned on running into her HS crush and having to deal with his mess. But when they are shot at while fixing her tire, the are forc ...more

Good start for a new series!

Atlanta Gladiators football player Travis (Ares) Redmond is taking a break in his hometown of San Antonio after he was suspended by the team and some people thought he was throwing games for the mob. Travis ran into an old high school classmate, Skyla Larson who had a crush on him in high school. Skyla is the assistant district attorney in Atlanta investigating the mob for the throwing of games and other crimes. Skyla was the one person the mob didn’t want him to meet

This is book one in the Gods of the Gridiron series and is Travis and Skyla's story, and for me an introduction to this author. The story was interesting and the writing easy to engage with. Travis grew on me, he was a little arrogant at first, but eventually the chip on his shoulder disappeared. I'm not saying he didn't have a reason to behave the way that he did, he certainly had a little leeway, given the circumstances. I am so glad Skyla was a ballsy women, she certainly kept him on his toes ...more

Suspense. Sass. And a whole lot of heat!
These are just a few of the things you can expect from Unsportsmanlike Conduct. This football romance is unlike any I’ve read before. The twists and turns on the way to a happily ever after keep you turning the page and dying to know how this is going to play out. Travis has gotten himself into a bit of trouble with some not so nice men and Skyla finds herself getting mixed up in all his drama. The sexual tension between these two is almost as intense as t

This was a great book. It wasn’t just a sports romance, but also had blackmail, a mob boss, a hit (of sorts), kidnapping and of course, the romance! The chemistry between Travis and Skyla was ultra steamy hot enough to melt the words off the pages, but they were also so sweet together. I totally loved their sassy banter as it made the book fun. This is a must read as it is full of steamy scenes, love, romance, family/team relationships and a whole load of action. I cannot wait until the next boo ...more

Skyla is a girl who got bullied and decided she was going to stick it to all of those people who made fun of her. Travis aka Ares was the popular boy she loved who never even thought of her as anything but the shy girl in biology. This was a great read that shows that a girl will do whatever takes to get the man she has always wanted. Great read and I loved reading there story.

This is the first book in a new series, The Gods of Gridiron.
Already in the prologue I got to dislike Travis, his over confident ego. Also Skyla was not on my hitlist.
The story got better around half, but seriously the way Travis spoke to Skyla I was not a fan of.

Overall the story was good. It was well written. Unfortunately not for me.

I really like how this story started out with Travis being caught in the loop with the mafia that got him penalized in his game. 😱 Then meeting someone who he'd never thought he'd see again, his former classmate. It screamed out suspense and romance which I love both mixed! 😍

I'd like to say though I thought the mafia goose chase and suspense was rather short? 🤔 Like I kinda wanted more maybe brutal and blood maybe? 🙈 I don't mean this to be critical, I love it all either way!

This book is a American football themed romance with the added storyline involving the mafia. I enjoyed this book as it gave a different and unique take on the cabin love story. The characters are sweet and I liked the family type relationships shown at the end. The pace was good and the book was action packed with the author doing well in interleaving the action with the romance in a believable way

Unsportsmanlike conduct is a quite unique mix of genres that keeps you pulled in. Travis is a running back for a famous foot ball team, he’s mixed up with some very bad people, and he went to high school with ADA Skyla Larson.

She is tough and had a horrible high school experience with bullying and was in love with Travis. Now she’s skinny, hot, and well on the case to take down some bad people. There banter is hot and spicy and their chemistry is off the charts. Add in they are on the run, thei

Twists, turns and sexy players🏈

ADA Larson knew “Ares” from high school. She loved him, but his cheerleader girlfriend told her he didn’t really like her. It was just a big joke when he was nice to her. Remember high school and how the popular crowd often used to bully the nerdy overweight girl?
