About the author

Rae is a daydreamer, nurse, bookworm, nature enthusiast, wife, momma, animal activist and an optimist. She has lived her entire life in NYC and loves to travel with her family. She believes that sweets should have a larger piece of the nutritional pyramid and that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the best TV shows ever invented. When she is not working as a nurse in her community, she can either be found reading, writing, or taking a walk while listening to music. She has been writing books in her mind for as long as she can remember but decided that maybe there were others out in the world that would find joy in the words she would put down on the page.

This is the fifth book in the Falls Village Series and my first time reading this author but definitely not the last. Rae B. Lake has given us a beautiful and amazing story about Carson Ingram who is one of the characters I have been anxious to learn more about. He can not condone his father's prejudice and elitism and when his father forbids him to donate to a school in need he refuses him. and he is disowned. His mother tells him of an old home in Falls Village and he makes his way there. Believing all the rumors about his family the town fears him and then he has a mishap when the local doctor. Francis Hoffman runs into him and then befriends him. She loves him and sees him for who he really is but will his family find him and be too much. There is so much that happens in this wonderfully exciting and captivating story with twists and turns you do not see coming. Callan Black from previous stories also appears again in this story and adds so much fun. I love this book and highly recommend it and all of the Falls Village books. The Falls Village series which takes place in coastal Maine town is being written by RomantiConn authors.

This is the first book by Rae B. Lake and I absolutely loved it! I now have to go back and
read the others in the series. Carson is forced to walk away from his wealthy family after his father disowns him. Carson does not believe in the elitist behavior of his father, so after a fight, he leaves. His father had frozen his accounts and he is left with nothing. His mother reminds him of a house in Maine. He heads there to hide out and he does hide from everyone. The town is scared of him, so he is very much alone. One day he literally bumps into Frances, the local doctor. From there, Carson comes to life with the help of Frances. But his past catches up to him when his father finds out where he is and comes to town. I won’t spoil what happens, but it was a great way to end the story. This was very well written and I couldn’t put it down!

Carson Ingram is the total opposite from his elitist father and tries to help those in need at every chance. Being disowned and thrown out of the clan due to his support of the working class, Carson finds himself shut in at his family's forgotten castle in Falls Village. While staying as a recluse the town views him as a Beast of his own castle, but when he saves a little girl from being swept away in the current his life is changed in an instant. He becomes close with Frances, one of the family doctors at the local clinic and once again realizes what a person's value should be. But will it all be for not when his father finds him? Or will this be an eye opening experience for the entire clan? A great addition to the series. This was the first book I have read by Rae B. Lake but it will not be my last.

This is my first time reading something by this author. This was an entertaining and enjoyable read. The story was well-written and flowed nicely. The plot was interesting and had some plot twists and turns that made this an interesting and intriguing story. The characters were strong and well-developed and had great chemistry. The author did a nice job of bringing this story to life with her vivid descriptions and well-developed scenes. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Carson has had a life of privilege and although he's brooding he believes in helping others but his father doesn't so they have a riff and he's disowned. So he goes to the town in Maine that started it all once his mother tells him of the house there.
Frances is the strong-willed small-town doctor who sees him for more than the mask he puts on but when his father finds where he is will that ruin their chance at love?
This was a cute small-town read with some twist and turns and no major drama.

Carson is forced to walk away from his family after a confrontation with his father. His mom tells him of their old home in Falls Village and this is where he goes. While there he meets Frances and they become friends and form a relationship. Frances cares for him and then word gets out to his father about where he is and he shows up in town. A wonderfully written story and one I definitely recommend.

It was the most relaxing book I read lately.
He is a billionaire who wants to be himself,not controlled by his father.
She is small town doctor with quirky character. Is not to much drama but storyline was entertaining.
Even you easily can predict ending it’s ok. I was laughing every other chapter. Some steamy parts were funny,too.
Could you say it’s comedy ? But is also a good romance story .

A beautiful and amazing story that captures your attention. You'll easily fall in love with the characters, their lives and their story.

He's the billionaire who walks away from his family and she's the strong willed small town doctor. They shouldn't fall in love. A fun and entertaining story line that has a few humorous moments. A perfect read for your summer reading list.
