I picked this omnibus by mistake, thinking it would include the Northern Witch series by the same author. If I had paid more attention to the title, besides the word Witch, I would have noticed it's a completely different series. But I didn't! And imagine my surprise when I started reading and realized it's a completely different book.

Yep. Right now I picture everyone reading this making that face, while I'm looking for a hole to hide in.

That being said, I was supposed to return this tome and

A burden of birth bears the weight of hate of generations- but is it a rightly assumed burden or a misunderstanding?

Are witches and hunters really so far apart, or does each carry a certain type of magic?

If no middle ground can be found, can the world survive?

Destinies bent snd re-shaped. Loyalties and betrayals

Intense dark drama and action

„The Witch-Hunter Trilogy” by K.S. Marsden compiles all previous three books in the Series (The Shadow Rises, The Shadow Reigns and The Shadow Falls) into a single volume.

The Series revolves around Hunter Astley, a witch hunter with a pedigree going back seven generations, who works for the Malleus Maleficarum Council, the institution responsible for the eradication of witchcraft. The success of the Council through the ages have relegated the existence of witches to the land of myth….. until now

I have read and reviewed each book separately as i read them but I enjoyed the books so much I just had to post a review on the trilogy now that readers are lucky enough to be able to read right through all three books without waiting in anticipation for the next book to be published.
I must admit that I was very apprehensive at the beginning of this book because I love witches and all things magical and cannot abide stories about witch hunters, in fact I hate these with a vengeance! However as I

The Shadow Rises: A great series opener with top-notch world building and well-written characters whose journey drew me in right from the beginning.

The Shadow Reigns: This was a great follow up to book one, the Shadow Rises. I really enjoyed the continuing story of Hunter, a bit slower paced than book one but still enjoyable. The characters were very engaging and the storyline kept me interested until the very end.

The Shadow Falls: I have been hooked on this series since book one. Hunter us an

This is a very entertaining tale about a secret society of witch-hunters who work to eliminate black magic and prevent witches from gaining power over humans. When surprise attacks bring chaos and destruction, the witch-hunters realize they’re dealing with a powerful entity with limitless magic – a Shadow Witch. As the battle for world domination begins, does Hunter Astley, a 7th generation witch-hunter have the necessary skills to take up the gauntlet and lead the charge against the witches? Ma ...more

I enjoyed the Witch Hunter series but I'm also conflicted about it.. It was well written. The world building was interesting and it wasn't overwhelming. Hunter was developed really well. He is a strong male lead and he never faltered. He was developed through all three books. I do wish there was more about Sophie. Sophie was a big part of the first book but then her character was completely ignored for the most part in the last two. Considering what the whole series is about, I feel like there w ...more

The premise for the book really drew me in as I love fantasy/witchcraft books. The first book in the series I really enjoyed-it was one of those books that just draw you in and you are able to read in pretty much one sitting. The plot was engaging and executed well with good writing, and a pretty good character development. I did however find that the chapters were short and not particularly descriptive-you'd reach an exciting part of the plot or a battle scene and it would only last a couple of ...more

I read these books as they first came out, and it was sometimes a long dry spell in between. I whole-heartedly recommend the trilogy, especially since the reader can get them all in one set now. I have included my individual reviews below. GET THIS SET!!!

The Shadow Rises

I really enjoyed this take on the theme of witches versus hunters and the concept of a super (or Shadow) witch. The book has its share of action, violence, twists and turns, and betrayals on all sides. The human witch hunters see

This is a great paranormal collection. The author does a great job bringing strong characters and an entertaining story line. She had me glued to the pages late into the early morning reading these stories. I loved each book and being able to read them back to back. It's a well written trilogy ,moves fluidly and is an entertaining set.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

I liked this story. It had a different take on witches and witch hunters. Instead of the expected - witches being the good guys, the story is about the good witch hunters saving the humans from the evil witches trying to take over the world. Hunter and his friends belong to an organization that oversees all the witch hunters this is their story. It was full of danger, witches, hunting, magic, love, betrayal, politics and crazy family. I laughed and groaned at Hunter but was entertained. Plus the ...more

This is a brilliant set to read.
Wonderful well written plot and story lines that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

A Complex Fight of Good vs. Evil

In this series, the author has created a complex tale with deep characterization that takes it beyond a simple fight of good versus evil. The lines between the two are blurred and sometimes come together. In general, I enjoyed the series even if I thought certain books were better than others. Here are my reviews for two of the books included in this box set.

For me this whole saga deserves 4 stars.
Book 1 was a really good start for a saga. I truly enjoyed it but the second book didn't truly add a lot to the story, I feel the important part of this book could have been in a couple of chapters. And the third book added so many mysteries which was amazing, but a lot of things were left unsolved or not fully solved.
Still, I recommend this saga as it was an entertaining read and K.S. Marsden is really hilarious, probably the reason I enjoyed it so much.

Break it down! Marsden unleashes a tidal wave of thrilling escapades, keeping you riveted on a razors edge and frozen to your seat, rocking this explosive gem from start to finish, wrapping this jewel up sleek shiny and tight. A raging tempest of vexing mishaps and suspicious events, observing the formidable trials and arduous tribulations, stumbling through the deadly twists and wicked turns, blasting this bad boy to life flawlessly. Disadvantages are amplified and

The books get better as they go along in this three-book set. I enjoyed it by the final book quite a lot. It's a multi-year tale of an epic battle between witches and witch hunters. Lots of characters, loves and losses, an excellent story plot-wise, if a bit thin on details (for example, the entire world loses power due to the witches yet we hear only a sentence or two about the ramifications of that--and it doesn't even affect our hero as he's got magic anyway!)

Worth the read if you don't mind
