Being a rock star looks magical and glamorous. Playing music, traveling, and performing in front of people may seem like fun, but how hard is that journey to the dark world of fame? To live to the fullest, parties, entertainment, popularity ... but what happens when the lights go out? What is really behind all that glamor?

Is this really a debut novel? Cuz the narration is really suave and the story seems to flow so smoothly. The plot progressed so fluidly that I was totally sucked in.

The characters brought up my emotions and I felt so sympathetic for Jack. His character was done so well that reading his story was an emotional rollercoaster.

I loved the ending. It was the perfect emotionally satisfying end to a whirlwind of an emotional read.

I loved the cast of characters, though they did have moments where my hate came more easily, but all's worth it. I DEVOURED this in around 8hrs.

What an emotional journey this debut novel was for me.
Told in 3rd person POV, the book alternates between past and present to give us a story of love, hope, betrayal, addiction and abuse and what happens behind the curtains in the music industry.
Jack from the present is a broken, aging Rockstar that comes to reflect on his life choices after Erin, a journalist, is thrown in his path at just the right time.
Jack tells his story to Erin, starting with his father's abuse, the creation of his rock ba

Music brought Jack and Mia together. Growing up in a small town for these two was very damaging for them. As teenagers, they decided to move to LA to pursue their music career. They finally found their break with help from their other school friends, Wade and Cash. Being in a band is all they ever wanted but it comes with its downfalls. Jacks addiction tore them apart and it left cracks in his relationship with Mia. Their lives changed for

What a great book. It was a rockstar book with a difference. One that is totally raw and a story that is laid wide open. One that revolves around a character that impacts so many lives. At the start Jack is vulnerable, has a rough life but as the story turns and times move. He becomes a selfish addict that really can't help but mess up time and time again.

In saying that I absolutely loved this broken man. His character, yes has flaws but all that surround themselves know what they're gettin

A quick and engaging read about the what goes on behind the "glamorous life" of a rock musician. When Erin Langford is sent from New York to LA to interview Jack O'Donnell, the famous rock guitarist, she has no idea what kind of scoop she is going to get. She goes from getting a door slammed in her face to having Jack jump in her car demanding she drive to the hospital where his ex-wife has overdosed. Against his better judgement, Jack starts lowering his guard around Erin and opening up to her. ...more

A completely raw and utterly honest story of an aging rockstar where the memories of the past collide with the present reality.

Told through past and present memories and multiple POV'S, Blood and Bone is ultimately the journey and tale of Jack O'Donnell. A man reflecting on his past choices and actions as he reveals his story to a reporter. His story is one of heartbreak, pain, addiction, regret, and loss. How his choices and actions not only effected himself but, those closest to him. A hard p

This was... wow. A roller-coaster of a story.
This was everything I wish Daisy and the six was and more. I really like the way this is written. It grabs you from the first page on. I liked Jack as a narrator (I wish Mia had a pov though) he was raw and honest. His story moved me. I had to admite i did teared up a little a couple of time but this was a very emotional book.
Now, side characters i loved Cash and Wade and i hated Amber, especially after the divorce.

Harsh, Intense...Beautiful Disaster & Emotionally Charged ✨🎸🕊

When harsh realities are met with the rock style life of drugs and abuse, the climax is never just one but a crescendo of many, leading to undeniable fate of the charismatic musician Jack O’Donnell and the demurely talented Mia Stone...a connection that can only continue over two decades of a “bond-ship,” and overwhelming intensity. Dombrowiak captured the very essence, beautifully, in Blood and Bone.

This book is as real as a fictional story can be. My heart is not okay and this is one of the most deepest books in the romantic sense which isn't dark.

I mean, THIS is @PaulaDombrowiak 's first book? GODDAMN FANTASTIC THIS IS.

To be known was to trust. To trust was to be vulnerable. To be vulnerable, you had to feel safe. He had never truly felt safe in his life.

Erin Langford is a journalist whose current assignment is to interview Jack O'Donnell about his and experience as a rockstar musician and well let's just say things don't go well at first. But then tragedy strikes in Jack's world and then Erin finds herself being the one there for him in his difficult time and getting some insight into the story about his past

It made my heart squeeze. It was real and heartbreaking.
It gave me hope then ripped it away from me but damn there was something about that ending.

It was a tough book I can’t help it. I wanted things to go so differently, but knew that wasn’t part of their story. It didn’t make it hurt any less.

Did you ever have that “Silver Lining Playbook” moment? You know when Bradley Cooper chucks Ernest Hemingway’s book out the window? But deep down you understood the beauty of it, all because it hurt me

This book was something I wasn't really ready for. It took me a little while to get into it, but it was a beautiful read. Blood and Bone is a story told in two timelines: the present where journalist Erin is interviewing rock star Jack O'Donnell, and the past of Jack O'Donnell.

I was worried about it being in third person as I'm not a huge fan, but it was written beautifully and I never forgot who was speaking to whom or anything. The past and present merging is done so artfully I never felt lik

I agreed to read and review this book because there are two things I love most of all: books and music. This is a fiction book about music. Nuff said.

Now, I always find adult romance very hit and miss, particularly when it comes to rockstar romances. They just make me cringe far too often. Yet, the synopsis of this one sounded good, so I wanted to give this one a try. I am glad I did, because I actually felt the story portrayed within these pages is really well told.

Honestly I don’t know where to start I really enjoyed this book. It is written in two POV by Jack and Erin. I felt it as a slow and steady burn 🔥 but in a great way.

The story is about Jack O’Donnell a famous musician and his turbulent life. Jack moves to La to pursue a career in music with his friend Mia. They write music together as well as creat a band. Friendships are formed but also broken. Jack and Mia are definitely a ride or die combination but their relationship is complicated and they f

Sent from New York to LA to get an interview with Jack O’Donnell, Erin Langford is less than impressed with her initial introduction to Jack. However, being in the right place at the right time has her helping Jack and in a position to get to hear the real story behind Jack O’Donnell.
This book moves between present day and the past as Jack gives Erin the gritty details of his life. Dombrowiak crafted a story that is raw, emotional, and does not gloss over the rock and roll life that Jack lead. Y

Journalist Erin Langford has just landed the story of a lifetime, a feature story about rock star Jack O’Donnell. Between the pages of this one readers will meet an rock start with a story to tell and the woman who gives it a voice. Erin had a big task in front of her, knowing it wasn't going to be easy to get Ja

I was a bit reluctant to read it as I haven’t been into 3rd person books for a while now but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. Oh Jack. My heart breaks for him. Such a beautiful soul with so much pain inside him. Thanks Paula for bringing him into this world.

Jack and Mia’s love story is special and something that many people will not fully understand. I can’t even find the words to describe it. Their love for each other is shown as complicated, messy, and sometimes painful. They live and love until everything changes.

First off, this was an amazing debut. I love when a book alternates betweeen POVs and past/present. I especially love when it’s done well. And it was done well in Blood and Bone. The backstory and insight was spot on in the development, and the characters themselves were amazingly human in their relatability. I felt for all of the characters at one time, but my loyalty remained with Jack. He’s the ultimate flawed hero-he made many, many mistakes, but he wanted to be better. He didn’t want to be ...more

This is the second time this has happened to me. An author I never heard of contacted me through my Bookstagram account and asked if I'd be interested in reading her book and giving it a review of I liked it. Rockstar romance is my all time fav romance, so I was excited to read this and said yes. And I loved it! I can't believe this book is her debut, it's just so good!

I received an ARC of the book for review. “Blood and Bones” - is all about friendship, love, relationships, combined with a passion for music. Jack is a Rockstar who survived a violent and alienated childhood. Mia is that one friend who accompanied him through all thick and thins. They both wrote lyrics for songs together and fled to make up their career. Their relationship gets complicated, and these two, although inseparable, could not be together. But life goes on…

The sometimes heartbreaking story of Jack and his childhood friends who make it big in the music industry. The story starts with their high school antics. Which helps explain the how and why of bonds they form. Jack has many issues to deal with and try to overcome. Yet he does none of this well. The story is told through his eyes and jumps back and forth from the past to the present. Typically I am not a fan of jumping back and forth but this was done seamlessly.
