Required reading for youth hockey players from a retired player/head coach of the men's US Olympic squad & his father, who also offers a master class on building your own backyard hockey rink.
This was a well written book, it really explained to me what it takes to be a successful hockey player and what I need to do to get to that high level of play. As a young hockey player I learned how to stay in shape and stay motivated. Dan explained the level of determination and hardwork it takes to be in the NHL or the olympics. Overall, I thought Dan explained what it takes to be in NHL very well.
A very down to earth guide for hockey-playing children and their parents. The advice about building a backyard ice rink is particularly amusing if you just watched the rebroadcast of the first Winter Classic and heard stories about Erik Christensen's dad stealing snow from his neighbors' yards in the middle of the night to improve the quality of his backyard ice rink.
