If there is one truth that Bellamy Davenport knows, it’s that. Hands-down. (Well, that and the fact that she didn’t mean to hurt him. Physically. Coy can’t be hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a heart.)
Coy is not just the small-town, literal boy-next-door. He’s a heartbreaking, womanizing, mischief-making (and delicious) man and was all of those things well before he became a hot-shot country music sensation.
He’s a dream standing in her doorway with no shirt, messy hair, and a ‘Do you wanna?’ grin. But he’s also a nightmare for her heart and she knows it.
Their enemies-to-lovers relationship always ends the same way—heavy on the enemies, light on the lovers.
USA Today Bestselling author, Adriana Locke, writes contemporary romances about the two things she knows best—big families and small towns. Her stories are about ordinary people finding extraordinary love with the perfect combination of heart, heat, and humor.
She loves connecting with readers, fall weather, football, reading alpha heroes, everything pumpkin, and pretending to garden.
Hailing from a tiny town in the Midwest, Adriana spends her free time with her high school sweetheart (who she married over twenty-five years ago) and their four sons (who truly are her best work). Her kitchen may be a perpetual disaster, and if all else fails, there is always pizza.
Adriana Locke never fails to surprise me with her layers characters and smart dialogue. Reputation is amazingly funny, heartfelt, and chock full of small town characters who grab you from page one! Bravo! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
it's been too long since starting this one that i don't particularly care about the couple anymore. would potentially revisit this series in the future though, the writing is solid.
Coy was somewhat what I had imagined him to be, he was cocky with a charming personality but what I hadn’t expected was the size of his heart. He had the most incredible genuine kindness that he swooned his way straight into my heart.
While Coy had a piece of my heart, Bellamy had a piece of my soul. I shared so much with her it felt as though my past was playing out on the pages before me through someone else’s eyes. She was all sass and closed off because she couldn’t fathom anymore heartbreak.
Bellamy and Coy’s start off with fiery retorts with an underlying sizzle of chemistry between them. Coy was full of determination to find out why Bellamy was directing so much anger towards him and once that was hashed out their chemistry was hot enough to burn the walls between them.
As I read the words of Bellamy and Coy’s story the emotions these characters felt were raw, untamed, and extremely heart wrenching at times. It was incredible to experience the intensity of the lows followed by feeling as if you’re swooning so hard you feel like your floating,
The history they shared made their banter even more entertaining as they went back and forth with quick wit and sarcasm; it balanced out the heavy emotions. The Mason family was another element that added humor, but also the unyielding support this family offers one another is as heartwarming as it is consuming.
Adriana Locke adds a magical element to the families she creates and the Mason family is no different. A superb blend of burning chemistry, a hero that’s a perfect mix of cocky and charming, a quick witted sassy heroine, witty banter, stunningly emotional, steam, a family that has the perfect amount of entertaining, meddling, unfaltering support, and love.
I have read all of Adriana’s books and she is by far one of my favorite authors. She has a way of creating characters who pull you in with their sheer...”real-ness”. I always know when I pick up one of her books it’s going to be good. That being said I’ve never had a “favorite” until now! I was halfway through and had laughed, cried my eyes out and mentally yelled at both main characters. I think Bellamy is my soul sister. She is so rough and has this hard exterior but it’s all for legitimate reason. Reading her transformation is gut-wrenching and rewarding. I one hundred percent loved this book. I can’t wait for what comes next for this family.
I loved him so much. But then, I knew I would. I can never get enough of the incorrigible playboy and so Coy's easy swagger and snappy humor were absolutely irresistible to me.
Add to that one Bellamy Davenport - with her sassy mouth and wounded heart - and this was heart flipping, sizzling, giddy perfection.
There was something so deliciously addicting about Coy and Bellamy's chemistry. Even though their relationship moved at warp speed, something in the way that their banter sparked, in the playfully affectionate way they reconnected just worked for me. I couldn't get enough of it.
Their dynamic was light on the enemies - though there were certainly some fiery exchanges - and heavy on the lovers. I loved the open and honest way they communicated with each other, even when it hurt. Ms. Locke did a fantastic job of getting us inside both Coy and Bellamy's heads in a way that felt organic and natural to the story. I ached for them. My heart raced for them. They were simply a delight to read.
There were some more emotional storylines that hit home for me too. One thing that Ms. Locke nails in every single book is the family dynamic. I loved the interactions among the Masons, and Bellamy's relationship with her dad was bittersweet and heartfelt.
There was a lot of depth here. Some humor. Some heartbreak. And a whole lotta swoon. I loved Reputation and these Mason boys so much. I cannot wait for more where this came from! ~ Shelly, 4.5 Stars
„Love will always find you. You just have to trust the process. And that’s only possible when you trust the person you love.”
Adriana Locke delivered a heart-warming love story that not only makes you swoon but it also entertains. Reputation is a book that’s easy to read, and the characters are so wonderful that it’s impossible not to like them. The family aura that surrounds this story makes you feel like you are among your loved ones, and the whole plot becomes close to your heart. No wonder I was so involved in Coy and Bellamy's situation- I felt like a family member who not only witnessed their relationship's development, but who also wanted to help when the situation called for it. I laughed, got angry and felt touched- this book gives all the feels!
Bellamy caught my admiration right away. This girl has a heart of gold and at the same time she’s a real spitfire. She seems all happy and bubbly at first, but her fear of getting hurt is palpable. She's sassy and funny, but also cautious. Despite her young age, she has gone through a lot, but still remains the embodiment of strength and bravery.
If you expect Coy to be a real rockstar, better hold your horses- although he has his arrogant and cocky moments, he never forgot where he comes from. I love that he didn’t get lost in show-business and that he wants to remain authentic. This guy is funny, charming and really lovely.
The relationship of these two has gone through all possible bases- from neighbors to friends, then lovers turned enemies. There is sentiment, resentment and disappointment between them, as well as fondness that cannot be forgotten when they are close to each other. Their love story is filled with banter, heat and tenderness. But before they reach their HEA, expect a lot of push and pull and hilarious (and sometimes heartbreaking) bickering.
I love Adriana Locke's writing style. She writes with lightness that makes her stories instantly engaging and unputdownable. I also like the fact that her series give this family-vibe that evokes a kind of familiarity between the reader and the characters. Reputation is a wonderful read that filled my stomach with butterflies and my heart with all the feels. I can't wait now for Boone's story!
Coy and Bellamy! What a way to start 2021! I couldn’t picture a better book to start the new year with! These two are oil and water but the heat they create together just burns through the pages and my gosh the angst is glorious!!
I love a book with some yummy angst and Adriana definitely captures that in this beautiful book! I love how she writes love! It’s not easy, or simple! Love is laced with loss, and pain! What makes it worth it though in the end are the little moments when everything clicks into place and I love witnessing those moments in life and In the books that I love! I don’t know another author who just gets it like Locke does and that’s what keeps me up reading her books in one sitting!
I love this family, these characters and I can’t wait to see what comes next because I know it’s only going to get better and better!
3.75-4 stars (I’m leaning a little more towards 3.75, but I’m not totally decided.)
Reputation is currently the 3rd AL offering centering around the Masons(& including The Relationship Pact, a Mason cousin) & each one cementing my further growing attachment to this family. Although perhaps not the strongest of the 3, Reputation is still definitely an enjoyable read as a whole.
Bells turned out a much more tender/fragile hearted heroine than I was expecting. She’s still playful with loads of personality, but there’s an emotional weight she quietly carries around with losing her mother at a young age & presently watching her father’s health fade away while she takes care of him best she can. It was lovely to see Coy become the person to pickup some of that weight off of her shoulders.
I suppose where that opinion of the story lacking somewhat in comparison the other 2 is partly due to Coy being a little more frustrating for me at times than Holt or Hollis ever were. I found him a bit too dense a couple of times & he was sort of a careless ass initially. I think what was bothersome about the latter was the vibe his family gave leaned towards ‘that’s Coy being Coy’ excuse. Nonetheless I wouldn’t say either approach the point of damning him or the story. He grew & the story was able to unfold well regardless of first impression.
I look forward to Boone’s book, Reckless. I’m thinking Coy’s agent might be Oliver’s love interest.
A sweet childhood friends, to enemies, to lovers. I don’t know there are a few tropes sprinkled into this one, but Coy is the boy next door turned country star, and Bellamy is the girl next door he left behind. She stays mad at him to keep her heart safe. I enjoyed this one. The family vibes. The enemies to lovers. The relatively quick pace. There’s some angst, and some bittersweet moments, but all in all this is feel good and my only complaint is that it’s over and I could read these books with this family non-stop, so I’m just ready for April so I can have the next one. No shame.
Adriana Locke continues to be one of my favorite writers and if you read any of her books, you’ll quickly see why. I love the worlds she creates, but more than that, it’s her casts of characters and amazing book families that have me falling in love with every word.
I LOVE the Masons! Such a fun, loud, huge, overwhelming, loving group of characters I can’t get enough of. Reputation is Coy’s story and it’s easy to love him because he’s a gorgeous, charming country music star. But you love him even more because beneath the glitz and glam of the music city life, he’s just a man with the same insecurities and faults like the rest of us.
And can I just say that Bellamy is maybe one of my favorite characters ever?! She is the embodiment of what you think of when you hear the phrase “strong woman”. She’s experienced so much is her twenty plus years - more than many of experience in a lifetime - but she’s handled it all with grace and strength and maturity. My heart breaks for her because she has so much on her plate but she suffers in silence, refusing to be burden to those around her, something we all can relate to. She’s such a lovable character you want so desperately to see her get her happy ending.
If you’re looking a great romance book with a hot book boyfriend, an awesome female lead, and a plot that takes you through all the feels and warms your heart, then READ THIS BOOK! SO GOOD!!
5 Star review of Reputation (Mason Family #2) by Adriana Locke
I was excited to dive in to Reputation by Adriana Locke as I love her writing. From start to finish I was riveted and had a hard time putting this book down when real life got in the way.
Reputation was well written and full of love, romance, laughter and is a second chance, friends to enemies to lovers story about Coy Mason and Bellamy Davenport. I really liked Coy and Bellamy, both separately and together. From the first chapter to the last, I was absolutely hooked by the story that Adriana Locke wove.
Returning home Coy struggles to work out how he can capture Bellamy’s heart again having loved and left her to pursue his dreams. I love small town romances and when you add in characters like Coy and Bellamy it is a joy to read. I loved how swoon worthy Coy was, he ticked all the boxes for me and I loved the funny, smart and sassy Bellamy which made for an entertaining read.
All the characters were easy to relate to and I cannot wait to read more in the series.
Hero : Coy Mason. Ruthless yet Playful and funny!! He was an amazing combination of Hot and cute for me.
Heroine : Bellamy Davenport
Pace of the story : Moderate
Angst Rating : 5/10
Heat Rating : 5/10
Triggers Involved : None
Plot Summary : Coy and Bellamy have known each other from the moment they were kids. Soon those Friendly feelings grew into something more and they became more. That is until After one night of passion , Coy left without any reason.
After a lot of years without contact , now Coy is back . Seeing Bellamy again brings back those old feelings. Bellamy on the other hand is not that happy to see Coy. He is the one who left her and then broke off all contact. There is no way she can rely on him again and give him that much control again.
But Coy is hell bent on making a relationship with her. He gets under her skin unlike no one else and there is very less she can control herself too when it comes to him.
Overall Opinion : This was an amazing contemporary romance to me! Just like all of Adriana's books , this one too didn't have any major plot twists but was rather plain and funny plus addictive that it didn't let me go until the very end!! I loved the dynamic between coy and Bellamy and looked forward to their interactions. The way they fought their feelings and past was so sad to me. I just wanted them to be together.!
If you are into a mood to read a sweet and sassy contemporary romance that pulls at your heartstrings , then this book is definitely something you can't miss!!
Final Verdict : A sweet yet sassy contemporary romance. Had a humorous edge to it that kept me hooked!! The characters were amazing. No major plot twists. A Definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there!
Reputation is kind of a childhood friends to lovers/enemies to lovers/rockstar romance? It's a series about brothers and who they fall for, and this was Coy's story.
The beginning of this was interesting to me, because Coy thought they were just bantering and at first was clueless to the fact that, no, Bellamy was straight up ticked at him. Fuming mad, didn't want to be around him at all. I assume he didn't realize because he's been so busy being famous. And when you see how out of his own control his life has become, you kind of feel bad for him. But more bad for Bellamy.
It's always a little surprising when the characters work out what you thought was the main issue and there's still so much book left, hahaha! But there were a few obstacles. Also, I gotta say, Coy was so sweet to her, and their chemistry was pretty hot. And I loved his connection with her dad. I can't wait to see the other brothers' stories, and have more of their mom moments, because she's the bomb.
Adriana Locke is an absolute queen when it comes to family saga books. I adored her Landry family series and it honestly looks like the Mason family are going to match it in every way. Coy & Bellamy’s story is an enemies to lovers romance - one of my favorite tropes. They were great friends growing up but after being let down by Coy several times Bellamy stopped putting herself through the emotional ups and downs and kept her distance. Every character added so much to this story and the minor story with Bellamy’s father was as sad as it was heartwarming. Loved the ending and especially the little teaser with Boone!!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Two hearts wanting to fall in love and be fully committed to each other...but Bell's heart can't do heartbreak again. Not after all of her previous ones- losing her mom, her dad's cancer scare, and then Coy breaking her heart and leaving her. But when he comes back into Bellamy's life, she refuses to let him in. She hates him. There's no way she sees a future with him.
But Coy is determined to help Bellamy change her mind and convince her to let him in. And when things get tough, it'll take everything Coy has to give Bells the confidence to pursue happiness and their love. Because a life without love and tears? Well, that isn't a life lived. <3
Oh boy Coy and Bellamy's book is full of the feels. I loved the arguing and tension in the beginning between them, it all only sparked their sexual tension that much more. Coy is so much more than just a Nashville music star, and he proves that in this book. He's the boy next door who likes to get into some old fashioned trouble. But when it comes down to being serious, he has all his brothers to turn to for help. Another great book by Adriana who has an talent for making me fall in love with her big family books, I can now add the Mason Family to the list of families I wish I knew in real life!
I saw this book on Amazon and it had an enemies to lovers tag in bold like that. I was interested because of that, this turned out disappointing.
They were not enemies. They stopped talking due to a misunderstanding and that was quickly resolved at 44%, before that you couldn't tell they were enemies either, Bellamy just liked saying they were enemies, again, they weren't.
The romance was too fast for me. After the misunderstanding they had not spoken in several years, yet when they reconnect they are already professing their love for each other. I understand that they were friends/lovers when they were growing up, they didn't even get to know each other and see what new quirks the person has before they went straight to the I loves yous.
If they had I might not have gotten upset at how Bellamy acted when Coy got called to renegotiate his contract. Maybe its just me ( which it probably is) but I did not like that bit. I know she needed support with what her dad was going through but if she's so in love with Coy why can't see be Ok with him leaving for a few days. He was supportive before then, why was she acting like he was a good for nothing kind of guy. That was annoying.
After my rant I feel like removing one more star but I'll let it be.
My goodness does Adriana know how to make you feel. There is a fine line between love and hate, especially in Coy and Bell’s instance. Your heart absolutely shatters for Bell and Coy makes it melt. The chemistry between these two is hott and silly and I loved it so much. Was a great quick read, that I couldn’t put down!
After meeting Bellamy in the previous book and hearing about her and Coy I was so ready to read their story. But what I wasn't ready for was the absolute raw emotions that came from Bellamy and how they drew me to her character. I was on the edge of my seat watching her and Coy fight and yet the connection was there and it was so clear they needed each other. Bellamy fought hard to stay away from him but Coy did not make it easy and it made for a really intriguing book.
Coy actually surprised me too with being such a down to earth person. He still had his cocky 'I'm a rockstar' attitude at times but mostly he was sweet and generous, and when he realized Bellamy needed him he was there for her. I loved them together and all the tension that sizzled between them with every fight they had. The chemistry was off the charts hot but it then led to some very sweet moments that I ate up like candy.
Overall, this is the perfect book to start off the new year and it's a must read. The series follows a family so there are past characters that make appearances but I do think you could read it as a standalone if you wanted.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
After finishing this story I needed a moment to gather my thoughts because the emotions that were awaken in me were so strong I was a sobbing mess.
It was frightening to realize how much similar Bellamy and I were. I too am the one who is the strongest in my family. Everyone who has a problem turn to me because (and I quote) i can take the burden. It broke my heart when she was secretly crying by the pool. It hit me so hard a had to put down my kindle and take a breath. The whole time I kept wishing Coy to really see in how much pain she was. I wanted to slap him silly a few times but at end he did see his wrongs and did what he should have done long time ago.
This book was kinda cleansing for me. It made me realize that I need to learn how to ask for help even if it kills me because it's so much easier to go through life with a shoulder to cry on.

There is nothing better than starting a book and being swept right away into their world as if you belong there. Adriana Locke did that for me with Reputation.
It's fun, it's flirty, and it hit me right in the feels! It's more emotional than I'm used to from Adriana but it's all good - she just added an element that I'm not used to from her.
If you've read Restraint or The Relationship Pact, then you've met Coy Mason and Bellamy Davenport and were probably salivating for this story like me. Even if you haven't read them prior, this book is so good that it can stand on its own without needing to read them first (but I do suggest it because Adriana Locke knows how to write a good story!).
Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope and Coy and Bellamy bring their A-game when it comes to the banter and the tension. I HIGHLY suggest reading this one!
I loved this story! It has a bunch of my favourite troupes; second chance romance, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, boy next door romance. It was suspenseful and so full of emotion with a happily ever after in more ways than one. I highly recommend this small town romance from the Mason family.
Find out why Bellamy hates Coy in Reputation by Adriana Locke. Live now and available in Kindle Unlimited! "Moments of unabashed humour combine with powerful emotion to create an exquisite piece of storytelling. Do not miss this!" – Donna, The Paperback Princess
oh Coy, what a sweetheart and a devil all in one package. I freaking LOVED this story! It's settled, I love this family and this series will probably join the Gibson series for one of my all time favs! Boone is next^.^
This book had me in my feelings! I laughed, cried, and swooned. Coy and Bellamy went from childhood friends to enemies to lovers to...well you need to read it to find out.
"Even though my disdain for this man is ten-for-ten, my stomach flip flops. It didn't get the memo."
Bellamy Davenport and Coy Mason always had a special connection since childhood and were the best of friends. He was her first everything. However, a few years ago, Coy pretty much broke Bellamy's heart and she's hated him ever since.
"I'm just a crazy guy who's always had a thing for the hot, beautiful, and sexy girl next door."
Coy's not really sure what changed between them. These days, he just loves to rile Bellamy up to get a reaction, but deep down he cares immensely about her and her well-being. When he finds himself suddenly back at his family home, he's determined to figure out what went wrong between them. However, moving forward, how can they reconcile their disparate lives and forge a future together?
"This feeling is every love song I've ever sang, every emotion I've tried to elicit with a constructed lyric. It's calm in the midst of an unpredictable world."
This story was sexy, amusing, and heartbreaking. Bellamy is made of stern stuff but, underneath, she feels pretty alone. My heart hurt for everything she was going through and the loss of her friendship with Coy. Coy, himself, was a pretty good guy but kinda oblivious. He seemed to float along being guided by people he thought he could trust, rather than gathering the reins of his destiny in his own hands. I adored how much he really cared for Bellamy and, for all his worldliness, he's actually quite vulnerable and sometimes unsure of himself. Overall, this was a fab read and I loved the Mason family dynamics. Really looking forward to the next story in the series.
I started reading this as soon as it hit my kindle and there was no putting down until the last word had been read. This is Coy Mason and Bellamy Davenport’s friends to enemies to lovers story, this couple have a history and when Coy went off to Nashville to follow his dream he took a piece of the girl next door with him but he always promised he would be there for Bellamy until he wasn’t ...... Coy is back home trying to put his world back together and he is struggling to understand what he did to the girl next door who stole a little piece of him all those years ago, can he convince Bellamy to open up and just tell him what he did or will she hold a grudge forever..... This is a very special read and this story is going to stay with me long after I finished the final words, I loved every character is this wonderful, entertaining journey that I was so happy to join. I fell hard and fast for Coy and I found myself wishing I could call Bellamy a friend and that for me means I’m reading something special, I smiled, I swooned, I sighed, I cried and I giggled as I joined this couple on their journey to HEA. What a great read to start 2021 with and I can’t wait for more from the Mason Family.
Wow, this book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions! My romance reader heart is happy. Reputation is fun, engaging and beautifully heartbreaking, all at the same time. Adriana Locke has crafted the perfect story line of angst, passion, tears, some heartbreak and lots of love.
Coy and Bellamy’s story is fun, flirty and heartbreaking, yet heartwarming as we watch these two on their journey. I adored the connection and chemistry between them, it was full of wit, laughs, well placed sarcasm and they managed to weave some emotional heart-to-heart that had me smiling one minute and shedding a tear the next. I was completely enamoured with their love story.
Adriana Locke undoubtedly has an undeniable charm in her writing that carries through the story until the end. Her characters are layered and enigmatic with the perfect balance of angst and comedic relief to them. Every time I jump into one of her books I know that I am going to be consumed by the story, and with each page until the very end. And this book was filled to the brim of feels upon feels with each chapter....it really does not get any better than this. I am loving the Mason family and to say that I am excited for the next book is an understatement.
