My name is Rosalie, and I’m on the run. If my ex-husband catches me, he will kill me.

One car accident and one stolen child later, I find myself in a nightmare worse than my failed marriage. I should be dead for what I did, but the three beasts spare my life so I can nurse their orphan cub.

Brooks, Lincoln, and Colt. They are half men, half bears, and they’re as cruel as they come. They imprison me, humiliate me, and use me in twisted ways. I’m reduced to being a slave, an object to be manipulated for their own amusement.

They hate me, yet in their arms, I feel safer than I’ve ever felt before.

Authors’ Note: This is a full, standalone dark romance story with no cliffhangers, and a happily-ever-after. Please be advised that it may contain situations that are triggering to some, profanity, and a lot of steam.

I enjoyed book two more than I did book one. Although it feels like it is the same formula and follows closely. That being said, I enjoyed the female lead Rosalie more than I did book ones.

Rosalie is fleeing a bad marriage, with not the best plan may I add, when she literally ran into someone. That someone turned into a bear who then died. Leaving a little boy in the back. So she takes him. Little does she know that she will have three big bears tracking her down to make her pay for the female bears death. They will make her do any and everything they want.

So the basis of the story is fine, the characters are fine, and the pace is fast. I really did not like how some of the story went, kinda really unbelievable, but really isn't it just a story to get lost in. So if you really want to knit pick, then you will find problems with things. If you just want to read a quick story that is pretty good, you will enjoy it more.

Eva Brandt (Cara Wylde and Dehlia Briar)is at it again with Marked.

Marked is a bit more twisted, and a bit more dark, but it shows a bit more of the human spirit too, making it just that much more relatable.

You can feel the fear and hopelessness of the female protagonist several times throughout this book, as well as her hope and daringness to believe in those willing to help her.

You can't help but be drawn into the story and eagerly look forward to seeing how this story ends. The real downside is that once you start reading, you feel as if the book ends way too soon, but the major plus is you know the third book in the series is about to be released.

If you haven't read a book by Ms. Brandt yet, I suggest you try reading either Captured or Marked if reading books with triggers isn't an issue for you, otherwise DO NOT read them. You have been warned.

Rosalie ran away from her husband and crashed her car into a woman who turned into bear and died. Rosalie rescued the baby and went to a motel. The baby's father and his friends come and they believe that she killed her. Somehow, miraculously, Rosalie starts lactating to feed the baby. They take her back to their camp and decide that they are going to have her sexually as well. There is not too much abuse and it is *mostly* consensual. There is a HEA.

Rosalie finally found the courage to leave her husband, but a car accident ends her desperate escape, and hopes of a new life. Brooks finds his child's mother dead after a violent crash, and his child gone. With his friends Lincoln, and Colt they will find the human responsible for her death, and the child's disappearance, and make her pay.

Whew, very hot! Sexy, and compelling characters that will find love and happiness, despite the tragedy that brings them together. Exciting action with sizzling hot, and kinky encounters, unexpected twists, and a happily ever after, I think this is a must read. Fantastic book!

DNF @ Ch 12

This book is soooo sloppy; I'm baffled it has such good reviews. For disclosure - I normally love paranormal, dark (dub con, being captured, etc), reverse harem, and erotic romances. I love me some smut; I don't even read romance that isn't erotic. I don't mind fated mates tropes. I have even read and enjoyed some BDSMy things. I still say, don't waste your time with this.

The timeline makes ZERO sense.
Day 1 Rose leaves her abusive husband, gets in a wreck, "steals" a toddler, and gets taken prisoner. Night 1 she gets gangbang raped by two men, followed by another. And, yeah, it's 100% rape. It's not kinda-sexy dub con. I was cringing the whole time, and I normally LOVE me some dark erotica.
Then, an hour later, after not trusting these men, she allows one of them to turn her into a rope bunny?? Out of nowhere? With no context? And no trust? Whaaa?
Oh, then they gang bang her again. The ENTIRE time they are absolutely ignoring any protests she has and constantly call her a slut or whore. Oh did we mention that prior to all this she was basically completely innocent, having not even had orgasms from that abusive husband? Yet, she's suddenly okay with being super into BDSM that has not been explained to her?

And, we're one Day 2 of her being in the shifter community. She ends up at a supermarket with a friend, when her abusive husband waltzes up and talks to her. I repeat, on Day 2! And the husband asks if the toddler is hers? Yeah, she totally has been hiding a mystery toddler from you, sure *sarcasm*. She also referred to him as her ex-husband, even though she had just explained that she'd never be able to divorce him. And the abusive husband, who we've been lead to believe is super controlling and prone to anger, just lets her leave. No commentary, no anger, no outburst.

Rose makes no sense as a victim of abuse.
She cowers a little at the beginning. However, after the first sex scene, she basically completely crumbles to the idea of sex and these men. She even has a moment, less than 24 hours in, where she thinks, "Oh I feel so safe! I trust them!" Again, whaaa?

The men are too inconsistent.
Brooks has sex with Rose within 24 hours of his partner and mother of his child dying. They were in a relationship! Happy! And he just anal rapes Rose after? Sure moved on quickly, don'thca think?
Lincoln, when first interacting with Rose in the cabin, is super aggressive and hateful. Doesn't want anything to do with her. Thinks she murdered Brooks' girlfriend and is the worst. Then, after the gangbang, he carries her to the bath and washes her, all sweet-like. Uhm, make up your mind, bud.
Colt imitates the gangbang and slut-shaming. Then, he has to "run away" because he's "too attached" to Rose... who he's know, I repeat, 24 hours.

This hasn't been edited enough.
Too many typos. The timeline is garbage. Did anyone even read this?

Rosalie had spent the last five years enduring pain and abuse in her marriage. Today, she would put her plan into motion. As soon as Jack’s car left, she gathered the few things she would need. The part of the plan she didn’t think through very well was that she would walk a half hour to Walmart and steal a car so a bus terminal clerk couldn’t tell him where she was headed. She managed to steal a car from a careless shopper and raced away to freedom. But eventually she was involved in an accident where a woman was driving like a maniac and hit her. Her stolen car wouldn’t help her now. She checked on the other vehicle. The woman looked in worse shape than she was. She started to call 911 for her when the woman turned into a BEAR! The bear dragged itself out of the window, crawling toward her, then died. But she heard a little boy crying! He didn’t seem to be hurt when she checked him out.

Brooks was putting a kettle on the stove when suddenly he got a pain in his chest, like a heart-attack. He was a bear, he didn’t get heart attacks! Where was Krista and Milo – her car was gone? Two of his neighbors heard him shouting and joined in a search for them when he insisted something happened to her. The three bears found the accident and wrongly assumed the human they scented had smashed Krista’s car, left her for dead, and stole the cub. They tracked her scent to a motel and Brooks, Colt, and Lincoln break down the door. She tries to protect the little boy and they take her back to Brooks’ home to make her care for Milo until he no longer needs her.

The story line then goes down paths that made little sense. Basically the bears choose to get their revenge on Rosalie – without making sure she heartlessly killed Krista, which she hadn’t – by using her themselves. Rosalie is somehow able to nurse Milo, despite not having had a child of her own previously. And the bears eventually show more personal “interest” in Rosalie which could be helpful when her ex tracks her down. All of this I thought weakened the story because it was too unbelievable. I can believe in shifters, yes, but not all the other stuff, and that includes the car theft plan! Anyway, parts of the story were actually good. And other parts were not. If you concentrate mostly on the HEA, you might enjoy this one.

🔥🔥ONE THRILLING SHOW DOWN🔥🔥
Beastly bears! This immensely talented and unique trio doesn't hold back unleashing this kickass rollercoaster, revving up the adrenaline, basking in the chills, frills and spills while breaking hard fast rules, raising the stakes and keeping it real, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Chicanery, escapades and mayhem rule the roost, clocking the taxing trials and challenging tribulations, noting the deadly twists and wicked turns, putting our characters through their paces, catapulting this gem into the eye of the storm, slamming it into a tizzy with astonishing impacts. Lines blur and boundaries crossed, limitations are amplified and exploited, riding the current and breaking waves, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. Bound, wound and tightly banded, displaying the explosive ups and agonizing downs, impressive in it's simplicity and thrilling in it's depth, putting our characters through their paces, kicking this baby to a whole new level. One action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, page flipping thrill, blasting this baby to life beautifully. The magnetism, attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity, exposing deep emotions, drawing our characters closer, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that add diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job guys, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.

**Trigger Warning~ this does talk about abuse in all aspects so be prepared for that**

Now with that tidbit out of the way I just want to say that this book to me was deep. What I mean by that is that it not only grabbed my attention it also let me see the character for who she became. Here we have Rosalie who is on the run from a douche of a husband. When you read the story you will know why I say that. While she is on the run she just happens to crash into the lives of Brooks, Lincoln, and Colt. They live in a secluded community. Why because they are bear shifters. However, Brooks is hell-bent on destroying Rosalie for something that happened. Can you break someone that is already broken? Rosalie knows that she is on borrowed time but maybe they can heal each other. Lincoln and Colt are in the mix because they are friends with Brooks and they feel that he has the right to want to destroy her. Fate may have different plans for them all. I really enjoyed the gripping story and I am not going to lie, I did cry at some points. We do get a happily ever after.

Well this book certainly ticks all those dirty, kinky the story would have been better for me if there hadn't been some inconsistent things like the car wreak I'm not going to say what but if you read it you will see what I mean then there was the lactating issue man paranormal books really are different I still haven't figured out how it happened but okay it is what it is. Other then that the book wasn't bad just over the top at certain points.

Rosalie is in and abusive relationship you don't really find out why her husband is such a bad guy until the end and no you can't justify the abuse but it may have contributed to his anger issues. But when she gets up the nerve to run it starts off a chain of events that cause someone's death indirectly and put her in the path of a little boy and his shifter family. His father Brooks along with friends Colt and Lincoln set out to make her pay but end up falling for her but then her crazy ex comes back. The guys are likable at times and other times there just awful.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.

Rosalie has run away from her abusive husband. She stole a car from a mall to help her runaway from him. Rosalie realizes that everything might be ok, she is in a car accident. The other driver hit her, Rosalie is hurt. She tries to call for help, but the shifts before her eyes. She realizes that the woman is dead, there is a baby in the car. She takes the the baby with her. Rosalie is able to make to the motel. She is trying to figure out what to do, when the boy's father and his friends come.
Rosalie is terrified of them, they are making threats to her life. They take her back to their land. They do things to her and make her feel different. Rosalie is offered to care for the young child once he is able to be with out her, she can leave. But the bonds seem to be forming for all them. When one of them makes Rosalie run, she runs into what she left behind.

This was a good story. There are some themes in this book that some might not like.

Primal Obsessions is not for the faint of heart and are books that contain possible triggers and some degree of violence. This one was in the degree of medium burn in the violence department.

Rosalie was only trying to escape from her horrible marriage, what she gets in return for her courageous escape is a baby and a dead she bear. She knows she can't leave the child alone and he is so darned cute that she makes a descion to take care of him.

Shit really hits the fan though in her decision when her door is busted down by three huge bears, scared to hell she still tries to protect the baby, and it's the baby that ends up saving her. They end up taking her hostage so that she can provide for the baby until her services are no longer needed.

With two of the three actually liking her for how she is it takes a while for her to fall for all three, especially when her ex tracks her down.

Again an amazing story and I loved it as well. Thanks for letting me be your ARC reader 💕

Okay, Marked is not as good as the book Captured. Or maybe I'm just not into bears--Goldilocks and all did nothing for me growing up. I thought it was a story about buying new beds. Marked is a Goldilocks story that, to me, is more porn-y than sexy, and less dark than it is kinky.

Rosalie has a very crappy marriage and a crappier husband. She has finally pulled the trigger on an escape plot to get away from the zero-promise future that is her life. Her escape plan is desperate, and the execution is bonkers. It's no shock that she ends up in a car accident where there is a fatality who turns up to be a bear--yep, a bear. Then it couldn't get more surreal, but she finds an adorable baby bear in the back seat, and crazy Rosalie is off on another hare-brained adventure.

The three main bears are easy to dislike and not find sexy--I only liked the most psychotic, go figure, and I think it was because he was the least bow, chicka, wow-wow. Brooks, Colt, and Lincoln quite quickly become 'kitty'-trained to come whenever Rosalie has even a thought of straying. The bears mean to keep her close--but she doesn't want to leave because her creeper husband is out there just waiting to kill her so, really, peeps.

Marked isn't the winner I wanted it to be, it's the weakest of the bunch but not a total loser by far. It's an average book—an average smutty Goldilocks.

From one enslavement to another? While running from her abusive husband, Rosalie’s car is hit by another. When she is able to get out of the car, the female in the other car turns into a bear and then dies. But there is a child in the back and Rosalie takes him to care for him. She can’t leave him there. But what she doesn’t know is that a bear shifter named Brooks is the father of the child and when he tracks her down, he accuses her of killing his girlfriend and kidnapping his son. Now, along with his two friends, they will exact their revenge on her. She wanted to be free and now she is trapped again. But could she possibly have found her chance a real happiness? Rosalie is on the run from her abusive husband. She steals a car to get away, and ends up in a car crash. There her life takes a turn in the strangest way. Brooks, Lincoln and Colt are in a hurry to find Milo and his mother. They find their missing piece instead.
I have read this whole series, and this was my favorite of the bunch. At least in this one the guys aren't total jerks the whole time. They seem to have a brain and not just think with their pants. Rosalie manages to find the strength and courage to leave her abusive husband and even stand up to the 3 bears a bit. Some of it was totally far-fetched though and kind of off putting, like the basically instantly lactating for a baby that isn't hers.

This is only the 2nd book by Cara Wylde and Dahlia Briar that I have read but they are fast becoming one of my must read author teams. They write a story line that leaves you entertained and reading till the end. Their characters are delightfully flawed but you can't help but cheer for their happily ever after. The story is a little dark but what a story it is! Brooks, Colt, Lincoln and Rosalie's story is one of surviving tragedy and coming out only stronger for it; and maybe finding you soul mate (or 3) during the process. This story has everything that you could want in a book; comedy, action, drama, conflict and of course hot, hot romance. You really don't want to miss this one!

This standalone has the same action and fiery, heat that the first book has but a little less drama. It's still got the fast paced vibe to it and there is a HEA. I felt that it was a little over worked when Colt tried to have sex with another woman in front of Rosalie and then she ran (as this same scenario happened in the last book - a little overused there), but some themes that are expected in these kinda books. I mean both book have girls taken basically against their will with people killed in front of them. The book is full of the expected.

Missed the mark for me

This book had some good parts and some that needed work.

The book started off strong but as it progressed I didn't buy Rosalie as a DV survivor. I liked her as a character just not one who survived years of abuse. This really rubbed me the wrong way and made it hard to get into the story. I liked the three main characters except for the relationship building between them and Rosalie. I felt that many things were just overlooked. It also follows the same layout as the first book. So nothing to surprising.

I wanted to like this book. But it missed the mark for me.

Rosalie runs from her abusive husband that lands her up in a car accident. When the lady driver of the other car turns into a bear and then falls dead, then she realizes there’s a baby in the vehicle she’s left with only once choice, take the baby with her. Later on the father of the child, Brooks, and his two friends, Lincoln, and Colt, find her and take her hostage in order to care for the baby. Then they decide they are going to use her sexually as well. This is a fast paced, exciting, and one hot read, and one I really enjoyed.

I like that the MC finally gets the confidence to leave an abusive situation and she isn't just a push over when it comes to the bears. I feel like some of the situations that were used in this book also were borrowed from the first book. I actually like the characters once they become a little less one dimensional. But I would like to have seen the story delve more into proving the MC wasn't at fault for the death or the ex hunting her down and include that in the background of the development of the storyline. Definitely some steamy sex scenes.

Marked is book two in the series Primal Obsessions by authors Cara Wylde & Eva Brandt. I was looking forward to a dark Reverse Harem book with all the angst and pain, and this book had it in spades. This book was better than the first in the series as this female had the spunk to leave her bad situation and did not take too much crap. Still needs some coming together of the characters, they get left hanging

Book 2. Another RH with some almost or mostly? consensual sex. On the plus side, the guys weren’t total a-holes the whole book, they had some good moments. Rosalie was a likeable fmc. My only issue was that her being a survivor of domestic abuse didn’t ring true. She just wasn’t really believable to me. But that might be just me. I’m a survivor myself, no it didn’t trigger me, it just felt not quite authentic. Otherwise she was a great fmc. I also found this HEA was more satisfying than in the last book. So that was a definite yahoo.

Marked is book two of the Primal Obsessions series and is Rosalie, Brooks, Lincoln and Colt's story. When Rosalie finally finds the strength to leave her abusive husband she never imagined she would end up trapped in a different kind of relationship. Brooks, Lincoln and Colt are bear shifters and when they find the mother of Brooks' child dead and the baby missing they are determined to find the human who is responsible. This is a very steamy read filled with abuse, heartbreak, tragedy, suspense and a dark romance with a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This book had triggers so beware of those. I can say that I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the other two books in the series. It felt similar to the first book because they just assumed she was responsible. What mother drives recklessly with a child in the car? Unless she’s running from something, I really don’t think it was reasonable to assume anything. So I didn’t care for that which made the rest of the story predictable and more about how they would use her rather than get to know her as a person. The addition of her ex was good but again predictable.

Full of action and a lot of sexy scenes, this story may not be for all because of the violence, domestic violence and rape themes. I didn't think it was too strong, but it must have the warning.
I loved the story and all the characters and it's a pity the story ends so fast.
In my opinion, though it's not the point of the story, it makes me wonder how do we know a man is worthy of redemption or not. The mates bond does solve a lot of problems. :)
Anyway, even though the story ends fast it has a nice bonus epilogue included, so it's a totally full independent story.

Wow...... what a great standalone shifter story. Be warned this is a dark story with many triggers. I love me some Bear shifters even though they aren’t exactly cuddly to begin with. Rosalie is trying to escape from a bad situation and she runs into another bad situation. No rest for Rosalie as she has to adjust to her new life while dealing with her past. Dark and savage with a happily ever after. Loved it! 🖤

The story line was great. The story starts out really strong and you don't want to put it down. Then you get to the scences ot h the 3 guys and what they do to her to start and it seems to kind of fall. I felt it took the sexual abuse to far and took away from the story. Then the story picked up again and ended on a good note. So follow the struggle of Rosalie.

Another great book

This book like the first book is based on it's own happily ever after. In this book we meet Roselie when she is escaping from her abusive husband. To when she crashes a car and takes the baby with her that she finds.
From here we get to meet Brooks, Clint and Lincoln who all race to find baby Milo.
With some crazy twists and turns we see things come together in a great way at the end. Totally worth reading

Second in the primal series. A dark shifter romance. So expect some pretty intense scenes throughout the story. The shifters this time are bears. Rosalie sees herself as weak. But to escape a man who beats you takes so much courage. And she will face so much more after that. Three bears are about to show her what it is be owned and used. From the start with them it is intense and heats up quite a bit.
