From tragedy, comes a story of hope and love in this festive romance with two delightful children and a couple who have been attracted to each other for years but never been anything more than friends.....

Patrol Officer Kelly Shannon was devastated when the driver she was attempting to stop skidded on ice and crashed, killing himself. What made it worse was she knew him, he was the younger brother of her friend and secret crush, Mick Mizzoni. When Mick asks for her help keeping an eye on his you

Sweet story but a bit of a nail-bitter.

A Convenient Christmas Proposal by author C.J. Carmichael is book two of The Shannon Sisters series. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend you read book 1, A Cowboy's Proposal prior, for a more thorough reading experience. I have read many of this author's works and have enjoyed them all. In particular, I love the Christmas ambiance of the small Montana town of Whitefish.

Oh how many feelings and emotions this book brought out in me, although I didn’t break down and cry my eyes misted a few times. I have read and enjoyed other books by this author so I was expecting a good read but what the little ones in this book did in bring out my empathy and sympathy and just all over caring for Billy and Amanda was so not expected, and how awesome it was that some of the story line was from Billy’s point of view, what a great protective big brother with a whole lot of commo ...more

This series centers around three strong Montana sisters who have to overcome many obstacles to find love.
Kelly Shannon is a patrol officer who is carrying a misplaced guilt after a driver, driving under the influence, crashes into a tree and dies. More devastating was the fact that she knew him.
Mick Mizzoni is a journalist in the local paper, and the brother of the deceased. He’s also the “boy” she had a crush on in HS.
His brother left behind a 5 year old son, too serious for his age, a two yea

I adored this book so much I sat and read it all the way through. The characters were perfect, Mick a loving and devoted uncle, two kids who have suffered great tragedy and lived a difficult life and Kelly a cop who wears her heart on her sleeve and has so much love to offer. The story has a bit of intense drama and suspense leaving you rapidly going through the pages to see if everything turns out okay yet also is loaded with the feel good of the Christmas season. Would definitely recommend thi ...more

I received this arc from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the Shannon Sisters series that is set in Whitefish, Montana. We met the three Shannon sisters in book one. This book is about Kelly Shannon who is a police officer in Whitefish. At the beginning we learned that she is trying to overcome her guilt feelings at a recent DUI when she was on duty and the guy was traveling too fast and hit a tree. She knew him from school, Danny Mizzoni. He had a his ...more

A Convenient Christmas Proposal (The Shannon Sisters #2) by C.J. Carmichael is a sweet, heart tugging story of friendship leading to love. Families, good and bad are looked at under a magnifying glass in this story of Kelly and Mick. Their families have losses and sorrows but also are vastly different. Yet it is such a hopeful story showing how the future holds such promise for all.

This well-developed story has suspense especially in the future of Mick’s nephew and niece but no real mystery like

My heart turned to mush at the end of this lovely story though along the way I went through the full gamut of emotions including anger. A Convenient Christmas Proposal is a romance, a Christmas story and a story about family love and support but it also deals with the difficult topic of child abuse, which is something I just can’t fathom. Author CJ Carmichael handled the subject sensitively and thankfully the children in question had two guardian angels.

This is the second book in The Shannon Sisters series and it is based in Whitefish Montana. This area is off of Glacier National Park. At the beginning of the book, we learn about the DUI death of one of the characters that drove me crazy in the first book. The town Sherriff Kelly Shannon was involved and we learn all about this as she is talking to his half brother Mitch. Now that the scene is somewhat set let me tell you a little bit more about this book, It's not a cookie-cutter Christmas boo ...more

Do not let the title fool you, I will say I thought I had it all figured out and this book was going to be so predictable, I was quite wrong. This book was a really cute story yes a tough subject to discuss when it involves children but so worth the read. I loved that Mick was willing to take up for his younger brother and loves his niece and nephew like his own children. I loved Kelly and her big heart and even though she skeptical she's is willing to give people a chance to prove her wrong or ...more

This is a feel good Christmas story that ends happily. Sorry to say that there are too many real life stories similar to this that don't. When police officer Kelly attempts to stop a drunk driver he speeds up and is killed. In their small town most people know each other and Kelly knows the driver's brother, Mick. Now the two of them are attempting to keep the 2 small children out of the foster system as their mother is also an alcoholic. Sort of predictable but in a good way. This is book 2 in ...more

Mick and Kelly

Kelly is a local cop in Whitefish and witnessed the accident that killed his brother Danny. She's feeling guilty and helps Mick watch over Danny's kids, Amanda and Billy. Their mother is neglecting them and wallowing in her grief and drinks way too much.
I love the slow build of their friendship into a budding relationship between Kelly and Mick. Having to deal with Sharon was no picnic but they were all on the side of what's best for the children. I love celebrating the holidays w

Smooth read that I just sat and read and read. I was invested in the characters and all the emotions. Wonderful main characters as well as secondary characters. The children, oh my heart broke for them, but they had guardian angels in the form of Uncle Mick and Officer Kelly. Written with beautiful details that I felt I was in the story. A bit tragic tale balanced nicely with the magic wonder and beauty that the Christmas season brings. Highly recommend. A Christmas romance by CJ Carmichael is a ...more

This is the second book in this series and a really great addition to the first book. This book was so heartwarming but also heartbreaking at the same time. As I was reading this book, I had a box of tissues at hand. Kelly and Mick were so great together and how they joined forces to help the kids just warmed my heart. The story of Kelly and Mick.

Mick has just lost his brother, and Kelly was the police office who had to give him the bad news. They start to spend more time together as she helps him keep an eye on his young nephew and neice.

A great Christmas story, which is quite emotional at times.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a voluntary and honest review.

I really enjoyed this story, it was so heartbreaking with loss & guilt & neglect but turned out so sweet. The loss of a father, husband & brother at Christmas is devastating & the neglected children left behind is heartbreaking but with a loving uncle & an empathetic police officer life could change. Kelly & Mick are a slow quiet burn & the love they have for his niece & nephew draw them close. We’re also treated to the revelation of a secret that brings happiness to the Shannon sisters.
