If you’re in the mood for a fun Christmas Romance that is high on the emotional scale and low on the true drama side (for the most part), then you’ll love Home Sweet Christmas.

Kayla is a pastry chef for a large hotel. While on one hand, she loves what she does, she isn’t so sure that she loves where she’s doing it anymore. But that decision can be set aside as it’s time to return home to her grandparents’ Victorian home/shop where they create the most delicious chocol

Home Sweet Christmas is a sweet contemporary romance by Charlee James. I have read romantic suspense written by Ms. James with suspense building the tension in the story. However, in Home Sweet Home it is more of an emotional tension with the main female characters unsure of life changing decisions that she could made. From the beginning it is obvious that pastry chef Kayla Hunter is unhappy with where she works. In contrast is attorney Dominick Rowe who felt much the same as Kayla but made the ...more

This story was exactly what the 2020 Holiday Season needs. As I was reading about Kayla & Dominick, I was reminded of how magical this time of year really is. Spending time with loved ones creating new memories while reminiscing about past ones.

Kayla is a workaholic and doesn’t realize how much coming home to the Candy Manor and seeing her grandparents means to her until she is back to help prepare for the Christmas Eve Festivities. Once Kayla meets Dominick she is able to put her work aside for

This is a wonderful Christmas read. I fell in love with the characters and the story line. For me it was about two people that both were in need of a change. The Candy Manor is a place where they can both find what they are looking for. I loved Kayla and Dominick together. This book made me believe that Christmas can be a magical time of year. Great read from start to finish. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

It would be hard to get a more Christmassy romance than Home Sweet Christmas. Love Of family is a very strong theme throughout this sweet story set in the fictional small town of Hollybrook.
Kayla Hunter, pasty chef at the five star Winston Hotel in New York, is apparently living the dream but she enters the pages of this story stressed to the max and clearly not enjoying her lifestyle at all. Raised by her grandparents because of her parents’ constant travelling, she feels that she owes everythi

Chocolate and love combine forces in a battle of wills for a big city pastry chef as the loveliness of her home town surrounds her once more. You will be delighted by this dilemma driven, engaging story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is one of those books, as I read it was, was just picturing it in my mind like a movie. Oh yes, it would be the perfect made for tv holiday movie! What is not to like about candy, Christmas, snow, and romance? Pastry chef Kayla Hunter comes home to visit her grandparents for 2 weeks at Christmas only to discover they are selling up their Candy Manor (candy business and home) and moving to the sunny shores of Florida. Kayla meets their lawyer and friend Dominick Rowe, who has moved into the ...more

I received this arc from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This sweet romance takes place in Hollybrook in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The town has many festive events the townspeople participate in. Kayla Hunter returns every year to help her grandparents with their event at the Candy Manor. Kayla is a pastry chef in a hotel in a large city several hours away. She doesn’t get back very often and she is feeling guilty about this. This year, Kayla meets the new lawyer who h ...more

This was a sweet Christmas feel good romance but to me it was just a little unrealistic. Kayla is a pastry chef and returns home to help her grandparents with their Christmas extravaganza. They run a candy shop and she finds out they are selling the business to travel and enjoy their retirement. Their lawyer Dominick gets caught between Kayla and the grandparents because he is their lawyer and in charge of the sale. She's hurt he didn't warn her. This is a stumbling block in their budding romanc ...more

Kayla left her grandparents and her hometown to make her own way. After years away and a successful career she returns home to help her grandparents with the Christmas Eve Spectacular. Dominick left the big city life for the slow pace of small town living. Can he help Kayla realize that she belongs at the Candy Manor without breaking a confidence with her grandparents? Is the instant attraction between the two of them enough to get Kayla to slow down and realize what she is missing in her big ci ...more
