Another fantastic addition to the series! After rereading and listening to the audio versions of the previous 3 books in this series, I was over-excited to discover this newest Misfit to love! Kiini’s quest for answers led her down the road that the blonde girls usually take in slasher movies, but I had hope for her anyway. When she finds out the truth about her parents, I mean, that had to have been a heartbreaking thing to go through all alone, so her quest for answers was fueled by her feelings of betrayal. I’m curious about how both of her parents died at the same time though, I think that could have been an important part of the story too. Subject X, or Urion, is hyped up to be the bad guy of the story….but really just the bad guy for the bad guys. Kalini and Urion find eachother, amid strange energy fluctuations and little earthquakes attributed to Urion and go on an epic hero adventure that I could not stop listening to. Especially with the advent of the Golden Dragon, I literally had to listen to the last hour while my students were doing their mid-term final, lol, I just had no self-control left at that point, lol, and I would totally do it again! I could have read the words on my Kindle app since I bought the book too, but I was hung up on how the story unfolded at that point and just kept listening after my lunch duty, lol. Although this one wrapped up a lot of loose ends from the ones before, I can still hope that there are more experiments out there trying to find answers and the way to Limbo.
