Holy hell, this author writes some damn good smut!!

What an amazing short story.
Steam, romance, amazingly well developed characters, and perfectly scripted in stereotypes hanging in as well.
I thank god that this random pick on the EPUB site was worth it.
Usually these types of romances are not my cup of tea as due to the age gap and I guess a lot of divorcees in these usually (Idk why), but I was intrigued by the summary regardless. There is a similar book, The Pool Boy By Nikki Sloane. I feel this one was better, no cheating or betrayal, compared to that book.
So, I loved this overall short steam filled, but cute and funny romance story.

I usually love Madison Faye's books; this one was just okay. This is a first for me on any of her books. The sex scenes were very well written and per Madison's fayes style. I like the idea of an older women with a younger man. My concern is that I couldn’t connect with them, and not enough of an in depth story.

Mason has been well pinning after Layla his next door older neighbor since she moved in with a cheating husband. Lucky shes back and catches him in a act that well that make anyone blush. Now the heat is on these two are very handys with one another and playing a game of teasing. Now there relationship is very new and very steamy they have to deal with an ex and some stubborn rude parents.

One of my favorite erotica authors is Madison Faye and so when I saw she had released a new one, I knew I wanted to read it. What I love about Madison Faye's books is that they are quick romance reads or what my partner calls them horny woman books. You know what you are getting when you read a Madison Faye and sometimes you just need a read that you don't have to think too hard about it. The Pool Boy starts with Layla who has just divorced from her sleaze of a husband Jeremy and moved back to her old house. Living next door is Mason who was kicked out of Stanford after hacking their computer system. He has decided to rebel against his wealthy parents by getting a job cleaning pools this Summer. He ends up at a job next door at Layla's and now that Mason is of age - the two of them can finally complete and bring their fantasy into reality. What will happen though when things start to look up for the pair of them only for Jeremy to come back and Mason's parents to discover them? This was an good read. It’s my first from this author. It is truly an erotic escape. I did feel the sexual descriptions got a little over the top and repetitive but overall I enjoyed this story.

If you're looking for an easy to follow, hot, steamy, sexy, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you've found it. The characters and scenes are realistic and believable. Twists and turns and unpredictable surprises that kept my eyes on the pages and on the edge of my seat. I followed the characters fascinated as their personalities transformed and blended. Vivid detailed descriptions were so life like and on point. The storyline was solid and well defined. Cold showers may be in order when your finished. Madison Faye did a remarkable job bringing this story together beautifully.

OTT story but very sexy 🥵
As short as this book is, it still managed to be repetitive with the fmc going off constantly about being 9 years older than the mmc. The mmc kept going off about fantasizing/ living the fmc since he first saw her; their pov got annoying real quick.
The spice was spicy though and saved the book.

If the storyline was developed just a bit more and the sex scenes a little less frequent, this would have been an amazing 4*+ read for me.
Both Mason and Layla are likeable characters, the storyline is decent but gets totally overshadowed by the sex scenes that happen allll the time.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some steamy hot scenes, and Madison Faye sure knows how to write them, but a little less focus on the sex and a little more on the storyline would have done this book SO good, in my opinion.

It is so gorgeous, that I know that I would buy this book in a bookstore only to have this beautiful art on my shelves. :) The title is cheesy, the art is sexy, the colors and font work perfectly. The subtitle is catchy and the author's name already let us know this will be smut. I would definitely buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb.

When I finished the book I was disappointed, until I noticed that I had an epilogue after the end. So, don't stop reading until your e-reader says 100%, because there good stuff is at the end. Yeah, I know, why would I need an epilogue so much? My answer is: why would I read instalove smut without the completely unrealistic ending? This is fiction at it's best... it needs an epilogue!

Writing Style: 3.5/5 I always read Ms. Faye's book. They are usually fast, dirty and taboo. They are completely unrealistic, but they are good entertainment with no cheating and HEA. Good writing!

Freshness: 3.5/5 There was nothing very original here. All the clichés part of instalove smut were here. But I didn't choose this book expecting something out-of-this-world original. I chose to read this because I knew the author always deliver good smut! As fresh iced tea during summer!

3.5 stars. Cute, quick one-handed read. ;)
I know what I'm getting from this author: steamy, steamy instalove stories with hot, dommy heroes. Whenever that's what I'm in the mood for, I know where I can go to get them!
This one has an age-gap element, and at first I thought the heroine was too much of a cougar for me to enjoy, but by the second chapter it was clear that there wasn't as much of an age-gap, or life-experience-gap, as I'd thought and that element stopped bothering me.
The points of conflict - the heroine's ex, the hero's parents - are resolved a little too easily, maybe, and I would have liked to see the narrative play out a bit more, but I appreciate these books are like chocolate: a dessert rather than a meal. And there's nothing wrong with enjoying a sinfully steamy chocolate pudding from time to time!

I am putting in a pool immediately! This is such a good read - it brings us Layla and Mason. Layla has just "retired" from her lingerie business, and has moved back to her home after renovating it. Her next door neighbor - a much younger Mason, has also moved back home after being kicked out of school. Mason has had fantasies of Layla ever since she moved in with her cheating husband. After her divorce, Layla returns and immediately sees Mason, "taking care of himself." She can't look away. Mason, as it turns out, is her pool boy, and as Layla is "taking care of herself" one afternoon, it's game on between the two of them. This is such a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

If you want a dirty, naughty and steamy little read to heat up your summer days then you'll want to dive into The Pool Boy. I enjoyed Mason and Layla's flirty interactions and the sparks that sizzled when these two meet again. Layla's sassiness brought out all of Mason's alpha tendencies and his deliciously dirty mouth I couldn't get enough of. With plenty of humor, steamy times and tons of passion I was a bit sad to see their story come to an end as for once I was all about some summer heat. This is one naughty little poolside read that had me blushing yet left me with a smile.

This is a hot story by Madison Faye. I loved every second of it. I loved the interactions between Layla and Mason. I didn't want the story to end. Layla is back to her LA home and she is surprised to see how much Mason, the boy next door, has grown up. She is several years older than him and recently divorce. She doesn't want to want him but she can't seem to help herself. Mason has always had a crush on Layla. This is his chance to go after her. Will they be able to find happiness together or is this just a summer fling?

This is one short, dirty and slightly filthy wet story. If you are looking for the perfect short read this summer that will also have you blushing, this is it. It's naughty but it works because Mason and Layla have known each other for years, even if they've hardly spoken. There is the forbidden aspect and the crazy sexy steamy scenes. I only wish there was an epilogue because I need more of Layla and Mason and I would have wanted to see how their future turned out after that ending.

This is exactly the story I wanted and needed for the hot summer days. Not only is this book hot, hot, hot but it reminds me of summer and all the joys that brings. As with all this author's stories you will get steam, heat, humor and lots and lots of passion. I really enjoyed the story line as well and will be coming back to this story many times over. I would have liked a bit more at the end as far as future goes but at the same time, this was a great story for the now. Recommended!

Well this was my first older woman/younger man book and I must say ...I thoroughly enjoyed it! Which I must add Ms. Madison Faye has never disappointed. I was hook on this story from chapter 1. As always with a Madison Faye book, this one was a short and steamy read. I finished this one in about an hour and I was surprised that I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would as I've had issues with her past books. If you're looking for a taboo, short read then definitely give this a go.

4.4 stars. This book is soo flipping HOT!! If you like sexy scenes that make you peek up because others may be wondering what you're reading, then this is for you. Mason is 21 and Layla is 30, so it's not a huge age gap. Mason has been in love with his older neighbor for years and Layla finally sees him. The intimate scenes are soo spicy, you will not be disappointed.
