This shattered my heart.....
Like into a million pieces. I have read this book twice already and even with the second round I found myself completely consumed with this story, with Riley and everything she has been there.

Riley, the supermodel, the beautiful young girl has lived a life of pain, her past trauma haunting her, and after her father's death, she needed to get away from all the pain she once lived through. She wanted to rid herself of her past and that meant running where no one could find her. Where no one knew her. But she didn't realise that when she was trying to run away from her life and her past that she would end up finding herself... For the first time in her life, she felt like she wanted to live and be alive and Matt would be the reason why.

Matt is a small-town man who rents out a cabin he knows. He's quite the ladies man and often finds himself meeting women who stay in his cabin and Riley is one of them, but there is something different about Riley... And he wants to know more about her,

Matt and Riley's love is something special. From the moment they met, the connection and chemistry are there and it only intensifies at the book progresses. But will Riley's past trauma be a roadblock for these two? Or will this love story fall to pieces? Is Matt willing to fight to be with Riley, is she worth it?

There is so much depth to this love story and Riley as a character. Her story broke my heart, over and over... This story is one that is kind of close to home which made me an emotional mess, I was impressed with how the author played this out and could feel everything Riley felt and I understood some of the things and why.

This book was emotional, deep, and all-consuming and had me hooked from page one.

Highly recommend this series, it continues to get better and better with each book.

5 Stars!!

Riley Wolfe- a supermodel, daughter, victim.
Matteo Rossi- a simple man, looking for simple pleasures.

Riley, ran way from everything in her life. Her skeletons haunt her. To try to excise them, she goes into hiding. No one can find her, yet she was found.

For the first time in her life, she felt alive...and wants to live.

Matt, a cabin owner in Sumpter Falls Montana, rents out his cabin, to those looking for a retreat. Of course, when it's mostly single women, that's a plus. He likes coming to the rescue of those in need...his first thoughts when seeing, Riley, she's gorgeous, and another damsel in distress...right and wrong.

Riley and Matt's story, is at this time, my favorite, in the Wolfe's of Manhattan books. It had me all in the feels. You definitely need to read this series. Start with Rebel, Wolfes of Manhattan book 1.

Helen Hardt, I loved this book, and as usual, you leave me chomping at the bit, now having to wait for Reid's story.

How does one deal with pain when it is all consuming? One has no choice but to run and find happiness and do they best they can.

Another AMAZING book by Helen Hardt. I have really loved this series. I feel like Runaway really shows the true depths of the Wolfe family.

Riley is a very complicated woman with many layers that make her. She endured so much trauma at such an early age. She can finally breathe when her father passes away. He is finally out of her life, so maybe she can slowly begin to heal herself and move on. No one really knew what a monster he was. They will soon find out there is more than meets the eye. She begins to feel alive again.

Matteo is a breath of fresh air to Riley whether she sees it or not. Matteo is gorgeous, fun, everything Riley needs and more. There is an immediate chemistry that drives them toward one another. Can they fight it? He is really intrigued by Riley and knows that there is more to her than meets they eye. Is she worth the fight? Will she let him in?

You will not be able to put this book down!

The hardest thing of all is when pain is hidden behind a mask of calm...

Riley Wolfe is a gorgeous supermodel on the outside, she had it all, or so it would seem. No one knew her real story and what she experienced for years and is continuing to endure in her everyday life. Her father Derek Wolfe had finally died and all she wanted to do was holler for joy that he was finally out of her life. He was a saint to his friends and colleagues but was a monster to his children. They had no idea who the real Derek Wolfe was.

Riley did what she always did when trying to handle her life and too much to bear, she ran. She ended up in a small town in Montana to forget her demons for a while. No one would know her here and just to be sure she used an alias. She was looking forward to some quiet and reflection time, but that was short lived when she met Matteo Rossi. He was a gorgeous man, down to earth, honest and refreshing. The chemistry hit them fast and furious. Matteo was no bumpkin. He knew Riley was hiding many secrets and he was going to find out what they were. He had no idea what he was getting himself into, but she was worth it to him. I am looking forward to the next book to see how all this mystery and intrigue plays out.

Another amazing book by the talented Helen Hardt

Riley is a super model who has a traumatic past which left her no option to runaway to a small quiet town to try and heal.
In comes Matteo who thinks Riley is someone else and falls for her.

Will Matteo go and find Riley when she leaves? Will Matteo be ale to peel back all the layers that Riley has built up around her? Will they have their happily ever after?

Read this 5 star book to find out.

Riley Wolfe has gone missing after her fathers death. After the Wolfe brothers find out her secrets, they know she needs time to herself. As Riley is taking a break in Montana, she meets Matt.
Matt slowly drops Riley's wall and finds a way into her heart.

So many more surprises arrived in this book. I have been waiting on Riley's story since the very first book. I wish this story was longer without the intsa-love aspect. I wish the conversations were more in depth and Matt has way more character development.

Runaway fit right into the other books in this series and I cant wait to see what else comes from this series.

Running from my past

Wow!!! Runaway was a bit of an intense read, Riley Wolfe definitely has a cringe worthy past, no one should have to go through what she did and while Helen didn't go into detail it was enough to make my stomach hurt.
Book 3 in this series and the Wolfe siblings are still trying to prove their innocence in the murder of their father.
The book begins with Riley running from New York to a small town in Montana, she rented a small rustic cabin under one of her aliases. The cabin is owned by Matteo Rossi and the attraction is instant. Riley, usually confident and aloof, finds herself tongue tied and so nervous. She has never had such a profound reaction to a man.
Matt is an easy going guy with an easy laid back lifestyle. He prefers no strings attached sex with woman verses relationships. The more time he spends with Riley his opinion of relationships change.

You didn’t think this wouldn’t be another insta-love connection did you? Oh you silly goose.

The romance is so redundant in this series😑 The 🌶 is saucy but good god could we get a little variety🥴

I will say the mystery is very intriguing! We get several layers in each book so that is my driving factor to continue.

This book is a full TW honestly. If you can’t handle SA, kidnapping, incest, self harm and child abuse, then this ain’t for you.

All of that being said, i did enjoy the book. I love Matt. He was such a good guy and treated Riley gently. He was so respectful.

There’s no way to fully explain Riley. The fact that she could function “normally” on a daily basis was a miracle. She was so much stronger than she even understood. Hopefully we see her get professional help in the remainder of the series.

This is an excellent, excellent continuing story of the Wolfes.

This is the story of Matteo & Riley. Matteo lives in a small town in Montana doing construction and making jewelry. Riley is a super model and needs to get away for week due to compromising circumstances. Matteo owns the cabin Riley has rented for a week. Riley is really messed up with what her father did to her while he was alive. He has since passed away recently. This book is fast moving in some ways, and slow moving in others. Lots of emotions, lots of revelations, lots of tears and lots of love all around. I love that all the characters are in the book. This is an ongoing series to solve a mystery by the four siblings, plus their other halves. Only one sibling left to go for marriage. Can't wait to see what happens next. Helen Hardt is one of the best writers that I read.

Riley might seem like the luckiest woman on the planet, supermodel Beauty, richer then most, high society family. Some people are jealous of her. Most would even want to be her, but she hides her pain and the truth plastered behind a fake smile. Not wanting anyone to know that she's a victim for her entire life just about. She has been this victim and no one knew.
This is the third installment of Helens Wolf's of Manhattan series and this will hit you hard! My emotions were all over the place and I loved every second of it

Riley dealing with her evil father's murder, dealing with the pain of her brother's finding out what actually happened and her actually being a victim of the monster that was their father runs away. She takes with no hint of where she's headed. She just takes off, She wants to be someone else and who can blame her. While in seclusion she finds happiness. True actual happiness in a simple town.
Mateo is her landlord even though she's under a false name it doesn't seem to stop her from having real feelings and real fears.
Mateo is a simple man he wants simple things. Simplicity is it. He’s helpful, thoughtful and just down to earth and she falls like crazy, but also has the terrified feeling she's dragging him into her nightmare of real life and reality.

I love this story, it keeps you in suspense. I loved that she could Truly find happiness and truly know what it feels like to be cared for and the story just keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I can't wait for you to read, this your mind will be blown, your heart will break for her but you will also see the strength that she finds. Runaway was an amazing read and is now an all around one of my top 10 favorite stories from Helen so far!

5 Radiant ⭐ for Runaway

Runaway

Riley Wolfe is a top fashion model, she also has many secrets. Demons no one should ever have to experience, let alone experience it from their very own father! Riley tries to escape to Montana after the news of her father’s death. There she meets Marta kind, honest and very hot & sexy man. Can Riley put her demons behind her and have a possible future with Matt, or will she run a way - again?!? I really love this book even though some of the subject matter might be hard to deal with! Helen is very good at pulling out the emotions in her books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excitingly passionate

Helen has managed to hit the ball out of the park again with this one! Leaving you wanting more as usual but giving her readers enough satisfaction that you will not be disappointed.

Riley Wolfe is the only daughter of Derek Wolfe, who has also been implicated in his murder. A supermodel that was born with a silver spoon, at least to the average eye, but has learned to hide her darkest secrets from the world and deals with her pain in troubling fashion. She, like her brothers, has been implicated in her father’s murder except she has intent and every reason to kill him, especially after everything he has put her through. So what does she do? She runs like he has always taught her to do, except this time, she runs into the arms of an unintended man named Matt who has just as many secrets as she does.

Matteo Rossi has learned to live with his dark past and has also learned to control his emotions. That is until he meets his new tenant of his cabin, the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on. But, she’s apparently hiding something more than what she’s willing to lead on but, he doesn’t let that stop him from pursuing her. Besides, we all have skeletons in our closet so how bad could it be? Matt has never turned away from a challenge and finding her secrets has become his greatest challenge yet. His skeletons run deep, though he has chosen to keep them buried until he is faced with her history.

Riley and Matt experience so much joy and happiness together while she’s staying at his cabin, but she runs as usual. This is where their turmoil begins, along with obstacles and twists while her brothers continue trying to unfold the mystery behind their fathers murder. There is so much heartache involved with this story, some definite sensitivity for some readers that does end with a happy ever after that will continue with the last brother, E
Reid. Helen will have you on the edge of your seat from the passion, excitement, and desire of these two characters that you won’t be let down.

Reason to Run

This is the third book in the series, the story of Riley, the only Wolfe daughter. After readings the first and last book in the series, I could have stopped. However, I was interested in Riley's story and why she often disappeared.

Riley was a famous model and her brothers, Roy and Reid, thought she was their father's princess. They were often jealous of her because of the abuse they suffered at their father's hands. They had no idea the abuse they suffered. Rock knew and tried to prevent his father, only to be sent to an all male military school.

After all of his children were implicated in their father's murder, they eventually shared the abuse they suffered. Roy and Reid felt so guilty because they hadn't known of the abuse Riley suffered. They determined to help each other. Still, Riley was so overwhelmed that she disappeared and ran to Montana, where Rock had spent his adult years. There she met the love of her life, Matt Rossi. He didn't know who she was but knew she was hiding something. Of course, after discovering that she loved him, she again ran away for who could love someone as damaged as she.

Once he knew who she was, he followed her. You have to read the books to find out what happened. Even though I had other questions, I decided not to read more of the series at this time. I may read them at some time in the future just to fill in the blanks. The books were interesting enough, but for now, I'm content.

“I knew, I’d found my forever.”

Riley and Matt’s story was beautiful. Matt was just a good ole boy, living his best life in Montana until a “teacher” from PA showed up. Riley has her ugly past. She knows she will never outrun it but if she could just be a no one for a bit, she could maybe deal with her life.

Riley’s story gripped me. I felt every emotion I could for her and with her. Her father was a horrible, horrible man and he had definitely broke her. She kept running but she could never leave her past behind. She struggled so much with starting to find herself and finding that she loved herself more because of Matt. Matt knew she was hiding something, but he didn’t care..he fell hard and fast. I loved the switch that he was the “regular Joe” while she was the rich person. It showed, what he felt, were his weaknesses and how she made him feel like he was the world to her…because he was.

All happy endings have ugly starts..in this case, it was the worst of the worst..but it also shows that love will always win. This book really made me absolutely love this series. I love how we are getting closer and closer to the answers..but also seeing the Wolfe’s get their well deserved happily ever after.

This story broke my heart, and then did put it back together. It was a difficult read for me as I did relate to the abuse Riley endured. Fortunately she is able to become a survivor and not just stay a victim. I would say that extensive therapy would be needed in the real world to be as healed as Riley seemed by the end of the book. Intense emotions are present throughout this book. This series does need to be read in order as each book continues the search for the killer of the Wolfe father, and previous couples are highlighted in Runaway. Matteo Rossi and Riley Wolfe are opposites in many ways. When they meet one feels the spark between them burns out of control. There is intrigue, steamy passion, sibling rivalry that is slowly resolving, and so much love from Matteo and Riley, and the other Wolfe children except for Reid. I felt in this book that true love did conquer all. Helen's writing is easy to read and she can tell the story in great fashion. Of course the Ultimate Ruler of Cliff hangers does not disappoint with this story. I am eagerly getting ready to read Rake, and then finally Reckoning.

Amazing story Runaway is the third one in series of Wolfe’s of Manhattan. It’s an emotional roller coaster ride and just as well written as the previous two books in the series.
While Wolfe brothers are still trying to find who murdered their father, Riley disappears again but this time because it’s by her own choice. Renting a small cottage under a fake name in Montana she gets to know Matt who she developes strong feelings for but then she runs away from him, only this time she runs home to help her brothers. Matt quickly discovers her real identity and decides to go after her and help her deal with the mourning of her father. Soon he finds out the real story that Riley is hiding behind and together they all start working on finding more information that will set the siblings free and find the real killer.
It is left with a cliffhanger and can’t wait for the story of Reid to come out.
@authorhelenhardt is an amazing author and her stories are always well written 💖 And I would highly recommend this to anyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another awesome book!

Every time I read a Helen Hardt book I’m in love. The Wolfe series is incredible. In Runaway he meet Riley and Matt. Riley Wolfe is the youngest of he family and her dad’s favorite. Unfortunately not for the right reasons. We delve into the story of family incest/rape. While escaping for a breather she goes to Montana. While there she meets Matt Rossi. She opens herself to feelings for Matt. She overcomes her past abuse and sleeps with Matt. She then leaves the next day to return to the family investigation of who killed their father. Matt then finds out who she really is and follows her. He finds himself with her family and gets to know some of her past. They meet and realize Riley’s in love with him. When they go to Vegas they find a woman from the past that might hold answers to who the killer is. This is where we meet Zinnia now calls herself Zee. At the end of the book Matt and Riley marry and Roy and Charlie marry. I can’t wait for Rake.

The despicable and vile nature of the murdered Derek Wolfe is fully detailed by Helen Hardt in Runaway. Although this is a work of fiction it reminds that there are truly sick people in the world. The Wolfe family continues to investigate their father's death on their own and they all become cloer as a result.

Riley Wolfe has yet to really deal with her past and so in an effort to find even a scintilla of normalcy she escapes to Montana. Meeting Matteo Rossi gives her some of what she desires. He's caring, giving, warm, friendly and gorgeous. Seeing Riley for the first time almost knocks Matt off his feet. This beautiful woman with a decidedly somber demeanor is obviously hiding something and he'll do just about anything to make her smile. Oh and get her in his bed. She's disappears almost as quickly as she appeared. Following her may be foolish but the heart wants what the heart wants.

Riley confronts her past...

Hopefully by now you have read the prior two books to the series, so you know what happened to Riley.
Within this chapter of the "Wolves of Manhatten" Riley confronts her past...by running away... straight into a stranger, Matt. Riley grows, emotionally and starts to handle her past on her own terms.
I cannot wait for Rake (next book) to come out so we can learn more about Reid, but also so we can finally find the truth out about what has happened! Its driving me a bit bonkers honestly. I'm so invested in finding out the truth but everytime I think its close.... cliffhanger next book. Lol
There is literally not enough words to perfectly describe the way Helen Hardt writes... perfection is definitely at the top of the list.

Riley’s story is so heartbreaking to hear but which should a beautiful turn around! There’s nothing more beautiful then healing from the worst trauma. And trust me, in the department of terrible trauma Riley’s is super high on the list. Matt is the perfect small town gentleman that only Helen Hardt could write about! I love seeing their story unfold! again as I thought about the other books in this series, one book per couple is just simply not enough! I’m all for love at first sight but two days? I would love a little more slow burning and growth with these characters! I’m super excited for the next book in this series although so far Reid is not my favorite Wolfe but if anyone can write good character growth it’s Helen Hardt

4.25⭐️, 2🌶️. This book was listed at 4.4⭐️ and I give it a solid 4.25⭐️. It was the best book of the series thus far. There was still insta-love to some degree but at least the story developed before they were bound for the bedroom. I enjoyed that there was actually a storyline and emotions in this books whereas the other books lacked in story and were completely hijacked by sex. This one has a progressive storyline and very little sex. The secrets each siblings has keeps coming to light and the murder mystery plot thickens in this book. The book is a quick read as the majority of it is conversations.

RUNAWAY (Wolfes of Manhattan Book #3) by Helen Hardt
Runaway is one intense read and such a great continuation of the Wolfes of Manhattan series. Riley the super model, has had what looks like an idealistic life from the outside, but that is so far from the traumatic life she grew up in. When things get too stressful, Riley takes off without telling anyone. She runs away to Montana which is where she gets meets Matteo when she rents his cabin. Riley and her three brothers are each under suspicion for the murder of their father. I am anxious to see what happens. This is a 5 star read.

So Intrigued

There are so many reasons this book gave me all the feels, good and bad. Riley has endured a lifetime of heart wrenching and soul shattering trauma. Watching her story with Matteo unfold heals the breaks in your heart as you turn page after page. The underlying story of who killed Derek Wolfe is still moving strong and has you on edge as you try to find each clue throughout the book. I listened to the audiobook, and it gives the story wings that soar as you listen chapter after chapter.

Not so Model Behavior ❤️👠⛰️💙

Riley’s story is heartbreaking and not for the faint of heart. Be sure to heed TW. But it a good story of survival. How people can overcome horrific situations in their lives.

This is a love story wrapped in a mystery. It is a FAST romance, meaning Riley meets Matteo and they marry in under two weeks. I’d like more build in a relationship, but the story line is good. There are some holes, but since it’s a romance with mystery and not the other way around, I give it grace.

It’s an intriguing series.

Riley is so broken but her father is dead now and can’t hurt her again. Riley runs away because of her pain and so much more. Then she meets Matteo and things are different. He follows her back to Manhattan, at which time he learns who she really is.
This series is so good. Each book about the Wolfes is better than the previous one.So much information about Daddy Wolfe that keeps coming uncovered makes it more interesting. Makes you wonder exactly how many people are out there with motive to kill him.

Riley comes home

Riley Wolfe is a model whose life was turned upside down because of her fathers abuse. She finally faces the haunting memories and finds strength through Matt. He stepped into her life at a time when she needed him. Zee was the mystery woman who told a nightmare story of all the things that were done to her by the patriarch of the Wolfe family and his friend the priest. Both characters were strong enough to overcome the atrocities done to them but still had scars. Happy endings for all? Will have to see where Zee and Reid stand.

Gahhh it was intense, it’s indeed a delicate subject one that sadly many people go through.

Riley’s story is unique and I loved how strong she is and how she will now with Matt learn to overcome her terrible past, loved how the family is coming together and the support they have for each other.

This book is more amazing I loved every page and I loved how well the couple advanced, I definitely love the suspense and can’t wait for the next one!!

This is the story of Riley and Matteo (Matt). She is coming to terms that she is no longer ruler by her tyrant of a father and trying to over come the despicable things he did to her. Although she had motive for wanting her father dead she didn't do it. She has escaped to MO to clear her mind never thought she find the man of her dreams and he is willing to help her forget even when builds walls higher than the Empire Building.
